Two weeks later
Sitting at the school's conference room, were two detectives, whom identified themselves as; Ogbonnaya and Christian.
Seated along side with the detectives, were; myself, Dafe, Sofia, Saviour, Shade, the boy that found Eno's bloody sport wear, Emem and her parents.
Ogbonnaya, the dark complexion detective, turned his attention towards the the boy, before speaking. "What's your name, son?"
"Williams, sir." The boy whom turned out to be Williams, said.
Detective Ogbonnaya, wrote down that little information on a writing pad, before opening his mouth to speak again. "How old are you? And what class are you in?"
"Fourteen years old sir, and I'm in Ss2." Williams replied without hesitation.
"Where were you and what were you doing before you found the bloody wear?" Detective Christian spoke for the first time. Unlike detective Ogbonnaya, detective Christian was fair in complexion and was also chubby in nature.
Williams sat up right. He didn't look scared or anything. "My friend and I, decided to head over to the indoor pool. He forgot his phone on one of the benches and since his phone was the recent iPhone, Jonah wasn't ready to risk it."
"Jonah..... Is that your friend's name?" Detective Christian asked.
"Yes sir," Williams answered. Detective Christian wrote that down on his writing pad.
"Where is he now?" Detective Ogbonnaya pushed.
"I don't know," Williams replied honestly. "He was so scared when he saw the bloody sport wear. He wanted us to leave it the way we found it."
"Why?" Detective Ogbonnaya enquired with interest.
"He was scared we would be framed for something we know nothing about." Williams answered.
Detective Ogbonnaya, turned to the principal. "Kindly get a teacher to find Jonah he is needed here immediately, thank you."
The principal nodded as he got hold of a line phone, before speaking into it. "Get me a teacher to find Jonah...." He stopped as his eyes drifted to Williams.
"Jonah Amber, from Ss2 commercial." Williams helped with the information.
"Right," The principal nodded. "Get me Jonah Amber from Ss2 commercial, ASAP." With that, the principal hung up.
Detective Christian cleared his throat, "Since we are all waiting for Jonah Amber, why not ask some few questions." His eyes landed on Emem and her parents. "I was told you guys are her parents," His eyes traveled to Emem, "And you're her twin sister?" They all nodded their head in confirmation.
"The rest of you must be her close friends, right?" We all nodded. Detective Christian wrote that piece of information down.
"Did she have any enemy in school?" Detective Ogbonnaya spoke up this time. "Did she have anyone that would want to get rid of her?"
"My daughter didn't have the best character in the planet, but she wasn't bad either." Mrs Ekanem spoke, as her husband wrapped his arms around her in a soothing manner.
"Yes sir," Sofia sat up right. "Eno had enemies, but those said enemies, also loved her."
"No one would want Eno dead," Shade said slowly, before looking back at the detectives.
"In a nutshell, Eno had lots of enemies?" Detective Christian asked with stunned eyes.
"Sadly," I sighed and Saviour looked at me. Just after I had said that, a boy walked into the conference room with a teacher by his side. I presumed he must be Jonah, Williams' friend.
"Jonah, right?" Detective Ogbonnaya asked as he indicated for Jonah to move forward.
"Y-Yes sir." Jonah replied in a nervous manner.
"Don't be scared and have a seat," Jonah nodded as he found an empty spot beside his friend, Williams. "Can you please tell us what happened before you and Williams, found the bloody wear."
Jonah fidgeted a bit with his fingers, before summoning the courage to speak. "I-I misplaced my iPhone and so.... W-Williams suggested we both rephrase our steps. W-We both went to the football field, then the basketball court but my iPhone wasn't in any of those places. There was only one place left, w-which was the indoor pool."
Jonah took a shaky breath. Compared to Williams, Jonah was a cowardly lion. "Walking into the pool, I saw my iPhone at the foot of the first bench close to the entrance. But Williams saw a bloody sport wear close to the edge of the pool."
"Williams, suggested we take the wear to the teachers or any student holding a position in school. But I was scared. I was scared the people would think we were responsible for Eno's disappearance." Jonah tried not to burst into tears. "I'm so sorry for being such a coward."
"You're not in trouble, son." Detective Ogbonnaya assured Jonah. "We only wanted to see if your story and Williams story aligned with each other."
Jonah breathed out a sigh of relief.
"But there's something all of you should be aware of and I know Emem knows what I'm talking about." Detective Ogbonnaya looked at Emem in the eyes. "Eno is not dead. Looking at everything in front of us, we could all see that the person wants us to feel that Eno is dead. Her body was never found in the scene of the crime and the blood on her sport wear after being scanned, turned out to be that of a chicken."
"What does this have to do with Emem?" Dafe asked defensively.
"I've got a mighty strong bond that's connected with Eno, and I can tell that she's alive but very weak." Emem sighed, as she pinched the bridge of her nose.
Dafe longingly stared at Emem. I could tell that within Dafe, he wanted to hold Emem's hands and reassure her that everything was going to be okay. But too bad, Emem wasn't sitting close to him. She was sitting close to her dad, who had his arms hung on her shoulders.
Shade whom had been quiet for so long, finally looked at detective Christian with knitted and calculated eyes. "I think there's one more person that's in need of an interrogation."
We all turned to look at Shade. Detective Christian, leaned forward with interest, before opening his mouth. "Who?"
Shade mirrored him, by looking at his eyes. Without any fear, Shade mentioned the one name that forced me to ball my fist in anger.
"Osas."
