|| Eno's POV ||
I got down from my white Land Rover, before bidding my designated driver goodbye. I took in few deep breaths, as I looked at the school's large building. Students were either gisting with their friends, or trying to get into school. I sighed and hoped that they all forgot what happened yesterday.
It was Friday and I was lucky I had things just like basketball practice, to take my mind off of Alex.
I walked further into the school's building, and noticed some students looking at me with disgust. I wasn't bothered cause I knew none of them had the guts to say their nasty comments to my face.
Still, no publicity was bad publicity, right? I had learnt that from my teen Idol, 'Teen-fairy'.
"Eno," I looked ahead of me, to see Sofia and Shade walking towards me.
"Hey guys," I said to both girls, as I scanned the hallway for Osas. "Where's Osas? Isn't she in school yet? The assembly is gonna start soon."
Shade, who had her face buried in a book, raised her head a little to look at me. "No, she's in school. Seems like your coach wanted to talk to the whole team, so she's there right now."
"You've got to be kidding me," I exclaimed as I became jumpy. All Coach's unplanned meetings were always general meetings, which consist of both the girls and the boys team. As the captain of the girls team, I was supposed to be the first present there. Now I'm totally late! "I got to run guys."
"You do that," Sofia said, as she held Shade's hand. "Let's go Shade. I need to be ready, so as to conduct the assembly." That was Sofia's work. Since she was the assembly prefect, she needed to be at the assembly ground before everyone else.
I ran to the basketball court. On getting there, I noticed that my teammates were already there and they all formed a large circle around coach. I walked over to the group and dropped my backpack on the floor.
"Great, Eno decided to show up." I could sense the sarcasm lacing on Mr Solomon's tone.
"Sorry coach, I wasn't aware of the meeting." I looked ahead of me, to see Dafe looking at me with raised brows. I so much hated him, but not as much as I hated Felix.
Mr Solomon, turned to look at Osas. "I thought I told you to inform her about the meeting?"
Osas looked at me with a sly smile on her face, "Sorry coach, skipped my mind."
I looked at Osas with stunned eyes. I've known Osas almost all my life, so I knew when she was lying.
"But you're here," I blurted out. "Why didn't it skip your mind to attend the meeting?"
"Enough both of you," Mr Solomon Butt in. I was glad he did cause I was more than ready to bitch slap Osas across the face.
"Now, for why I called you guys." Mr Solomon began, then turned to face me. "Eno, you've broken the rules which says; no one from the basketball's team should be seen fighting in school's ground."
I looked at Mr Solomon with creased brows, before drifting my attention to Osas and the rest of the team present at the meeting. "I fought with no one, Mr Solomon. Where's all these coming from?"
Mr Solomon gestured to Osas, before looking at me. "Osas here, informed me of the little stunt you pulled yesterday. I'm so disappointed Eno. You're the team's captain, someone meant to be a prime example to her teammates."
"I fought no one," I said yet again to Mr Solomon, as I tried to defend myself. I looked at Osas, who had both hands across her chest and a wide smile plastered on her lips. "Osas, what's this?"
"Did you or did you not, hit peace across the face yesterday?" Mr Solomon demanded.
"I-I-I did," I stuttered, but quickly try to defend myself. "But that's because she deserved it!"
Mr Solomon looked at me, and shook his head sympathetically. "This is going to be one of my hardest decision." I looked at Mr Solomon with wide eyes, as I waited for his next choice of words. "There's a no violent rule, Eno."
"What are you trying to say coach?" I asked nervously, as I gulped down the lump in my throat.
Mr Solomon cleared his throat, before looking at me. Mr Solomon had been my mentor for a very long time. He thought me everything I needed to know about basketball. "I'm stripping you out of your badge as team captain, and giving it to..... Someone more... Deserving."
Did I just hear him right?!
"I am more deserving," I wanted to snap. "I'm the sport prefect that have provided this team more wins over the months. I deserve my position has the captain. Why are you stripping me off my position?!" This time around, I snapped. I could feel the tears welled up in both eyes.
Mr Solomon gently placed his right hand on my left shoulder. "You're not off the team Eno. You're just..... No longer the captain of the female's team." I looked at Mr Solomon in the eye, and I knew he felt sorry for me. "I'm giving your position to Osas."
"Bullshit," I swore, which was a huge mistake.
"Language young lady!" Mr Solomon yelled. There's one thing that's needed to be told about Mr Solomon. He hated when an individual uses a bad word in front of him. But I wasn't in the right state of mind to care about what he liked, cause I was so mad.
"You know what?!" I snapped as I looked at everyone present. "She can have both my captain badge and my spot on the team cause I'm out! And news flash, I'm the best player on this stupid girls team. Let me see how you guys will win without me."
I looked at Osas, as I stepped closer towards her. She scurried back a little cause of fright, making me to smirk at her reaction. "I'm still the sport prefect, and that's something you can never take away from me!"
Osas had always dreamt of being a school prefect, the sport prefect to be precise. But none were given to her cause her grades were super bad. At least, I was a straight C student.
"Who would have known that my closest friend would be the one to stab me in the back." I scoffed, as I blinked the tears away. I had a reputation, not to let anyone see me cry. And I wasn't ready to break that reputation cause of Osas.
"I guess I'm really the wrong girl now," I mumbled to myself.
Osas folded her hands below her chest. She wasn't even feeling remorseful about what she did to me. "We don't need you," Osas said all of a sudden. "We don't need the girl whose social ladder is breaking by the minute."
I chuckled at her stupid choice of words. I might feel like the wrong girl - hell, I might even be the wrong girl. But I was certain that my social ladder would always be at the top.
"Alright then," I smiled at her, as I moved a step towards her direction. "Let me see how that social ladder of yours, will help you win Friday's night game." I turned my back at her once I knew I was done talking. I decided to leave the basketball's court, away from a fake friend. I wasn't all that sad, cause I knew I had two friends I could actually count on.

Immediately after the assembly, I hurried to the class and ran over to my desk. I flung Osas' backpack on the floor, far away from my seat. Some students present in class, began to murmur and look at me with disgust. I ignored their stupid stares, as I grasped Shade's backpack and placed it on Osas' former seat.
"Why'd you do that?" Sofia asked, as Shade sat quietly on the seat that once belonged to Osas.
"Osas is a betrayer!" I snapped at Sofia, then looked at Shade. "That's your seat from now on."
"Where would Osas sit then?" Shade asked, as she brought out a text book from her backpack.
"Hell," I simply answered in annoyance, as I sat on my seat. I tilted my head to the side, to see Sofia looking at me with stunned eyes. Even Shade lifted her head from her text book, just to look at me. I sighed. I knew they needed me to fill them in on what had happened at the meeting, so I did.
"I knew that girl was a back stabber," Sofia said as her nose flared up in annoyance.
"I never liked her," Shade shrugged as she went back to her reading.
I was kind of surprised that Shade never liked Osas. I mean, I only knew about Sofia. Everyone knew that Sofia and Osas became friends cause I was friends with both of them. Sofia had never failed to remind Osas how much she disliked her. But Shade? What reasons would she have had to hate Osas?
Our Further Maths teacher, Mr Ezekiel, walked into the class. We all stood up, did our usual greetings, then sat back down. Mr Ezekiel, turned towards the white board, and wrote down the topic we would be learning today.
"What are you guys doing this weekend?" Shade asked, as she writes down today's topic. "My parents would be gone all afternoon and I need my friends by my side."
"Baby sitting my younger brother," Sofia replied in a bored tone. Sofia had a younger brother named Larry, he was the cutest little kid ever and super annoying too.
Shade sighed. I knew She hated being home alone, but neither Sofia nor myself knew the reason behind such hate. "What about you Eno?"
I hated not being there for Shade, but It wasn't like I had a choice. "I would be going to the airport with my parents, to pick up Emem."
"Really?" Sofia and Shade gasped at me.
"Don't you two like.... Hate each other or something?" Sofia asked, as she leaned towards me.
"Hate is a strong word," Shade corrected Sofia. "More like, strongly and deeply dislike each other."
I rolled my eyes at both girls, "She's the one getting on my nerves."
"Is she coming for the holidays?" Shade asked and at the same time, listened to Mr Ezekiel.
"There's no holiday, Shade." I deadpanned. "She's coming to stay."
"What do you mean by that?" Sofia whispered, so Mr Ezekiel won't hear us chatting at the back. Which was stupid cause Mr Ezekiel, was the 'I'm here to teach, get paid and go home' type of teacher. He didn't care if we actually listened or not. He was only lucky he was opportune to teach at a rich man's school.
"I mean," I said, as I turned to Sofia. "You'd be seeing her with the school's uniform this coming Monday."
