||Eno's POV||
I woke up upon hearing my ear deafening alarm clock. On a normal day, I would have angrily flung my alarm clock to God knows where. But today was different. Absolutely nothing, was gonna ruin my day.
I got out of my bed, reached for my phone on the bed stand, then played a booty shaking music.
I rushed into the bathroom, placed my phone on the sink, stripped out of my nightwear and got into the shower. Once I was satisfied with my body scent, I got out of the shower and wrapped my big red towel around my chest.
I walked back into my room, approached my closet, searched for my teams official Jersey. Once found, I quickly put it on and walked to my table mirror. I styled my hair into a bun. Walked back to my bed, grasped my red hoodie and put it on to cover my jersey, then walked to my full length mirror to admire myself.
You're so damn beautiful.
I grasped my gym bag and head out of my room.
Since there was going to be a competition at school today, the authorities proclaimed today a lecture free day.
"Mum, Dad." I kissed both mum and dad on the cheek, once I arrived at the dining table, and ruffled Emem's hair on my way to my seat.
Emem was still putting on her nightwear, while mum and dad were in office wear.
"Hope you guys are coming to the game," I said, as I reached for the jug, which was placed at the center of the dining.
"Take a chill pill," Emem said with her mouth full. Talk about table manners. "The game's gonna start by six in the evening."
"No......" I dragged, "The girls game's gonna start by six in the evening. Dafe and his team are gonna compete by four."
"Oh," Emem paused to drink her tea. I waited for her to continue, but she didn't.
"Oh?" I asked with raised brows. "Come on girl, he's your partner for the project___"
"Was my partner. The project is over, Eno." Emem said, cutting me off.
I sighed and ignored her comments. "You can't deny the way he looks at you."
"Whoa whoa whoa," Dad stopped Emem and I from discussing any further. "What's this I'm hearing about boys?!"
Uh oh.
"Wow mum, I'm full. Breakfast was delicious." I smiled at mum.
"Eno don't leave me," Emem whispered. She wasn't ready for dad's interrogations. "I will stay mad at you if you do."
"Sorry sis," I whispered back. "Mum thought about forgiveness the other day, right?" I smiled mischievously at her, while she hung her head low out of frustration. She knew what I did there.
I quickly reached for my gym bag which was placed on the floor, and promptly stood up. "Training calls," I smiled at Emem one last time. It took every power in me not to laugh out loud at the sight of Emem's face. Her face right now, was priceless.

Jessie, a jss3 student who was on my team, swiftly passed the ball to me. I bounced the ball and at the same time, ran to aim for the basket. All of a sudden, Osas came out of nowhere and blocked me.
I fell to the floor, scrapping my wrist in the process.
"What the hell?!" I screamed murder at Osas.
"What? I was only guarding." She said, feigning innocent.
"That's not guarding, that's blocking!" I yelled louder this time. This time, our yelling attracted Dafe and his teammates, that was practicing at the other side of the court.
"Enough!" Coach yelled as he stepped in between Osas and I.
"But coach, she___"
"Eno, stop." Coach tried to stop me from making the situation unbearable.
"See it coach," Osas chirped in. "She can't be our captain."
Coach turned to face her, while I tried so hard to maintain my cool. "And who do you think would be a better captain?"
Osas lips formed a huge smile, then she cleared her throat. "Not to brag but, me."
Coach sighed in a frustrated manner, then placed his right hand on Osas' shoulder. "How can I give the captain position to someone that can't differentiate between blocking and guarding?"
My lips formed a wicked grin. Leave it to coach to turn the situation in a way that could benefit her.
"Alright, get back to training." He ordered, before going over to the benches meant for the coach and substitute.
"You've heard the coach," I smiled at Osas. A smile that could make your enemy die of anger. "Get back to training."
"And who are you to order us around?!" She snapped.
I scoffed, before moving my head close to her ear. "Try guessing this riddle, what do I have in this team, that you don't?" I stood upright to look at her, "The captain's position."

Everyone watched in anticipation, as the Blossom High School boys team, compete with the boys of Greenville High School.
I was seated with my teammates on the benches, while coach walked back and forth, to throw tactics at the boys.
I glanced up at the score board. Our boys were down by one point.
"Do you think we've got a chance to win?" Rosemary who sat beside me, asked. Rosemary was currently in Ss2, and I classify are as my wannabe. She tried so hard to be just like me. It would have been cool, if she didn't turn out to be a complete bitch.
"There's only one hope for the guys," I turned to answer Rosemary, who was sitting to close for my comfort.
"Which is?" She asked curiously. I sighed at her lack of brain cells, then turned to scan the bleachers. I could see Shade, Emem and Sofia, sitting with Felix and Saviour. Mum and Dad were also at the bleachers, but far away from Emem. Emem didn't want them to make her look 'uncool'.
I smiled at that thought, before realising that I haven't replied Rosemary.
God, why do I have to sit with her?
"The three pointer," I informed her.
"B-But," Rosemary stuttered. To have a three point score while being guarded by the opposing team, is difficult."
"Yeah," I nodded at her. "That's the reason why we're hoping for the opposing team to commit a foul."
Rosemary nodded her head. It seemed she finally understood where I was driving at.
Dafe got the ball in his possession, and everyone cheered to encourage him. The cheers was short-lived, when the opposing team snatched the ball from him, and started aiming for our basket.
But the opposing team could not get the ball to our basket, cause Jerry, a really tall guy from our team, successfully stopped the ball from entering into our basket.
Dafe had possession with the ball in no time. He seemed to be the best player out there, for our team. But a bulky Greenville player pushed him harshly to the floor.
At the sound of the whistle been blown, I quietly cheered a "Yes!"
Lexi, whom was sitting at my other side, tapped and gave me a confusing look. "What just happened right now, is a disaster. That guy just stopped Dafe from having another point. Why are you so happy about that?"
"Cause," I gestured to the team. "What we need right now, is a foul. That guy just blocked Dafe, what do you think that means?"
Lexi studied the game a bit, before letting her jaw drop. "A free throw!" She exclaimed. "And the only way to boost their score, is if he does the three pointer."
"Exactly," I patted her on the shoulder.
We watched as Dafe stood at the three point line, while some of our teammates and the opposing team, stood close to the basket.
I watched as he closed and open his eyes. His eyes were filled with nothing but determination. He slowly lifted his hands, took deep breaths and aimed for the basket.
We all watched the ball with our fingers crossed behind our backs. We watched as the ball circled several times, before it eventually got into the basket.
"Ahhhhh!" We all jumped in joy, as the point changed into.........
Blossom High 106 - 104 Greenville High.
I ran into the court and hug the guys. Friends and few parents, ran to the court to the exact same thing. I decided to hug Dafe, but Emem beat me to it. She wrapped her arms around him and gave him a gigantic bear hug.
I slowly walked towards her, and whispered into her ear. "I knew something was going on." Before she could react, I ran off with a teasing smile plastered on my face.
"Hey," A hand held my wrist. I turned to the side to see Felix smiling at me. Before I could figure out what was happening, my heart began to beat like crazy.
"H-Hey," I nervously replied.
Get a grip on yourself, Eno.
"So, you'd be playing any moment from now." I nodded at him.
"Yea," I pointed at few of my few of my teammates. They were busy doing some warm-ups. "I want to gather my teammates."
Felix nodded, "Alright. Don't think about it too much. I'm sure you've got this in a bag."
I smiled at him, before opening my mouth to speak. But Mr Solomon hollered my name across the court. "Eno, get over here now!"
"Yes coach!" I hollered back, then looked at Felix. "I got to go."
"Break a leg," He said, then held my hands. "I don't mean literally. You know, right?"
I laughed, Felix was acting sweet. "I know what you___"
"Eno!"
I shook my head, "Got to go, Felix." I jogged over to meet Mr Solomon.
"Get ready, you girls are needed in the court."

Hafsat was pretty good, but thank God I was at the same level.
I had possession with the ball and aimed for the basket. I watched as it went into the basket. Crowds at the bleachers erupted into cheers.
Soon, the game was back on, and a girl from the opposing team had possession with the ball. But Osas swiftly snatched it from her.
Osas was now guarded by the opposing team, while I was fully open.
"Osas!" I yelled so she could hear me. "I'm open!"
Osas just ignored me like I didn't even exist, and went for the basket. It hit the loop and went out. Time was running out, and Osas just threw away a point that would have made us win.
I angrily walked over to her and shoved her harshly. "What was that?! I was open!"
"Well I did not want to pass the ball to you." She said, as a matter of fact.
"Can you keep our hatred for each other aside, and give the school reason to smile at us."
"Shut the crab," She snapped back.
"Time out, time out." Mr Solomon declared. We all walked over to him, same time we tried catching our breaths. Some girls used the opportunity to dehydrate.
"Osas!" Mr Solomon scolded. "Why didn't you pass the ball to Eno?! She was clearly open!"
"I'm sorry coach, I didn't notice her." Osas lied.
Mr Solomon sighed, before rubbing his temple. "Alright. All of you, get back there and put your head in the game."
"Yes coach," We all chorused together. We ran back to the court and tried getting the ball in our possession. But every time we did that, Osas would always go for the basket without any assistance. And that act of hers, made us loose yet another point.
We only had few minutes left and I was so confused. Osas was making us loose so many points.
"Eno!" Rosemary yelled, and passed the ball to me. I bounced and moved towards the opposite basket. I stopped when I noticed them guarding my part, so I searched for my teammates. None of my teammates were open, they were all fully guarded, just like me.
I closed my eyes, then opened it slowly, with a deep frown plastered on my face. I jumped and aimed for the basket. My legs hit the board and I watched as the ball flew and went into the basket, same time the final whistle was blown.
Someone out of nowhere, roughly hugged me from behind. And within seconds, my teammates all gave me a big group hug. I glanced up at the score board, to see.....
Blossom High 79 - 62 Greenville High.
"Eno, my baby." Mum chirped and gave me a motherly hug, while dad ruffled my already messy bun.
"That's my daughter," Dad commented.
"And I'm your son?" Emem piped in.
I wrapped my hands around her shoulder, and pulled her towards me. "Someone's Jelly."
"No I'm not," She shoved me playfully.
I scanned the court, to see Shade and Sofia having a conversation with some of my teammates.
"Good game," Hafsat walked over to me.
"You too," I smiled back at her. I looked ahead of her, to see Felix leaning on a door frame. He was busy looking down at his phone.
"Mum, Dad." I looked at my parents. "I'll be right back." I left them and strode over to Felix.
"You're still here?" I said, once I stood in front of him.
Felix lifted his head, and tilted it to the side. "I need to congratulate you and give you a reward."
"Oh no no, I don't need nothing from you." I waved my hands at him.
"That's two negative, Eno. Meaning, you do need something." Felix pointed out.
I decided to rephrase my words, "Alright, I don't need a reward from you."
I watched as Felix eyes went down to my lips. "But I really want to give you a reward." his voice sounded husky for some reason.
I swallowed the lump in my throat, as my eyes traveled to his. "Which is?"
Felix moved, until we were only inches away from each other.
"This," Felix tilted his head, and before I could react, he captured my lips with his.
