||Eno's POV||
"Shade," I said, while looking at her with stunned eyes. She turned to my direction, to look at me.
"Shade," I called again, still trying to find my tongue. "You ain't pregnant." Shade's eyes traveled back to the paper. "You ain't pregnant!"
"Mum," Emem called, "She's not pregnant!" Seemed like I wasn't the only one who was excited about the turn of event.
Sofia had long wrapped Shade in a big gigantic bear hug. While Emem, was bombarding mum with series of questions.
I looked at my wrist watch, to see that it was ten minutes passed five. I wasn't bothered, cause Shade was more important.
"Mrs Ekanem," Shade sat upright, with a huge smile on her face. "I thought I was pregnant."
Mum brought out a chair and sat down. While Emem, Sofia and I, sat beside Shade on the small bed.
"What happened to Shade," Mum began, as she scanned us with her eyes. "Was just false pregnancy."
"False pregnancy?" Sofia asked in a confused manner.
"Yes, false pregnancy." Mum nodded her head. "False pregnancy in clinical terms, it's called pseudocyesis. It means, you believe you might be expecting a baby when actually, you're not really carrying a child."
I stole a glance at Shade, while mum continued. "People with pseudocyesis have many, if not all, symptoms of pregnancy."
"What causes false pregnancy?" Emem asked mum.
"It occurs when women or young girls such as Shade," Mum pointed at Shade. "Thinks they are pregnant, then her body may produce some pregnancy signs, such as; swollen belly, enlarged beasts and even the sensation of fatal movement. The humans brain then misinterpreted those signals as pregnancy. And then, triggers the release of hormones, such as estrogen and prolactin, which leads to actual pregnancy symptoms."
"Oooh," We all exclaimed at the same time.
"So Shade," Mum looked at Shade. "You're not pregnant, it's all in your head."
"Thank goodness," Shade exclaimed. "Thank you so much, Mrs Ekanem."
"My pleasure," Mum smiled warmly at her.
"Mum," Emem got the attention of mother, before she decided to continue. "I was thinking, could you convince dad, so both of you could talk to Shade's mum?"
Mum hummed, while trying to think. "Tomorrow, while you girls are at school, my husband and I will pay Shade's mum a visit."
My eyes mistakenly landed on the wall clock at mum's lab. "Oh my God!" I exclaimed once I saw the time. It was eight minutes to six. "Mum!"
"Mum looked at me with creased brows. "What is it?"
"I'm gonna be at school for an all night training, for the big game on Friday. And if I don't Start moving, I'm gonna be late!" I informed her, same time I got hold of my backpack. I quickly spared a glance at Emem's way.
"Go," She said, as if reading my thoughts. "Shade will give me a ride."
"Thank you so much," I gave her a quick hug, before dashing out of mother's lab.

Immediately the driver stopped the car, I jumped out and rushed into the house. I headed straight to my room and had a quick shower.
"I'm not gonna make it," I sighed once I looked at the clock on the wall. I wore my jersey, and clumsily put on my trainers.
Without glancing at the mirror, I grasped my gym bag and rushed out of the room.
Ten minutes later, I arrived at school. I gave a small wave to my designated driver, before running into the school's building.
Once I arrived at my destination, I opened the door to the court. Both the guys and girls, were training really hard. Mr Solomon, had divided the court into two. The boys were training on one end, while the girls were training on the other.
I slowly walked over to the girls, and placed my gym bag on the floor.
"And look who decided to show up," Osas who had the ball in her possession, placed it under her armpit as she strode towards me. "You were given the title as captain just this afternoon, and you're already acting as you pleased."
The boys had already stopped practicing at their end of the court, as they watched the drama that was unfolding in front of them.
"Where's coach?" I decided to ask Lexi, as I completely ignored Osas.
"He went out to make a call," She replied.
Osas forcefully pushed Lexi aside, before looking at me. "I was talking to you!"
"And I decided not to listen," I rolled my eyes, then turned to the girls. "Girls," I instructed, while clapping both hands to get their attention. "Let's get practicing."
"Enough!" Osas yelled, stopping everyone in the process. "Who told you, you could order us around?!"
"Shut the hell up!" I snapped at Osas. I was already loosing my cool. "If a single word comes out of that trash you call mouth, I swear to beat the living day light out of you."
Osas slowly walked towards me, and gave me a small smirk. "I dare you."
"Eno!" Dafe yelled, same time I lifted my hands to smack Osas across the face. "Can't you see?" He walked so he could stand beside me. "That's what she needs. She's hoping you loose your sanity, so you could be stripped out of your captain's position. She knows fighting is against the rules."
I lowered my hands, before sparing Dafe a glance. "Thank you," I muttered. I turned to look at Osas, "I'm not gonna give in to your pathetic self."
"Look who's taking," Osas eyed me. "A good for nothing excuse of womanhood."
I balled my fist in anger. It was taking everything in me not to punch her right now.
"I'm sure your mother regretted having a dumb child like you. They would be better of with just Emem."
"Osas!" I yelled murder, as I let my fist grasp her Jersey in a strong hold.
"Eno!" A voice I knew so well, yelled at me. I turned to see Felix walking towards me.
What is he doing here?
"What are you doing here?" I decided to voice out my thought, same time I let go of Osas.
"Dafe bribed me to stay with him, while he does his all night training." He replied. He looked at Osas, who was already looking at anywhere but his face. "You called her dumb? I wander what name to use for you. Help me Osas, what's more stupid than dumb?" He pretended to think. "Well, that's what you are."
"Felix I___"
"I told you not to mention my name or come close to me, the day you betrayed Eno. That rule still stands." Felix warned, but in a calm tone.
"Focus on your practice," Felix turned and held my hands. "Just ignore her."
I nodded my head. I was grateful for him. If not for his interruptions, Osas would have been unconscious by now.
"Girls," I clapped my hands to get their attention yet again. "Come on. We haven't got all night." I nodded at Dafe, telling him to put his team in order.
Dafe nodded back, and began tapping his teammates. "Come on guys," He instructed. "Let's get moving."
I got possession of the ball, as I happily bounce it on the board. I wasn't scared to snap or break any rules, cause I knew Felix was sitting at the bleachers, watching over me.
