Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β ||Eno's POV||
School was done for the day, but Mr Solomon had informed both the boys and girls teams, that there would be an emergency meeting. So, I pleaded with Emem, Sofia and Shade, to wait for me outside with our designated drivers.
Unfortunately for me, I sat beside Dafe, as we all waited patiently for Mr Solomon to arrive.
"I heard you've been given the captain's position, yet again." Dafe stated, trying to start up a conversation.
"Yeah," Was my short reply. I wasn't planning to start up a conversation with him.
"I also heard from Felix, that you're coming to my birthday party this Saturday." He continued, not taking the hint. I didn't know if he was trying to be real friendly, or real annoying.
"Yeah,"
I felt Dafe nod beside me, "Be careful."
"What?" I turned to look at him with confused gaze.
He tilted his head, to look me in the eye. "I said, be careful."
Still confused, I asked. "Of what?"
"More like, of whom." he replied dryly.
I sighed, as I glared at him. "Dafe, is your Warri brain loosing its knots again? If you don't have anything reasonable or sensible to say, shut up and don't talk to me." I snapped at him.
"Like seriously," I continued, "It's already a handful being friends with Felix, I don't want to be friends to his other doofus friends." I stopped rambling when Mr Solomon, walked into the court to address us.
"Good day everyone," He began. "Sorry for keeping you guys waiting. I just have a quick announcement to make."
We all sat up, to listen to Mr Solomon. "I'm gonna organize an all night and one day training." He informed us, which made most of the boys and girls to grumble.
"What do you mean by that coach?" Lexi, who happened to be my assistant sport female prefect, and also twin sister to the assistant head boy; Brent, asked.
"It means, you guys are gonna practice all night today. Then for tomorrow, I've discussed it with the principal, there would be no class for you guys."
"No class tomorrow?" Lexi voiced out again.
Mr Solomon nodded. "You all must practice all through the day tomorrow, and then go home to rest for Friday's night game. Competing with Greenville High, isn't going to be easy. We all are aware that their athletes are very good and we're not gonna ignore that fact. Now go home, talk to your parents and meet back here by six on the dot."
"Yes coach," We all responded at the same time. Immediately the coach dismissed us, I got hold of my backpack, then turned to look at Dafe.
"See you, don't wanna be you." And with that, I rushed out of the court.
Walking out of the school's building, I noticed an already pissed Emem.
"What the hell kept you?!" Yeah, she sounded so pissed.
"Coach," I simply said, then narrated everything to the girls.
"Well we need to get going," Sofia said, before walking over to her designated driver. We all agreed to meet at mum's hospital.
Shade who was already sitting in the back seat of her car, gave me a small nod. I smiled at her, as I tried to calm her down.
"Well, let's get going." Emem sighed. I nodded at her before walking over to our designated driver.
Here goes nothing.

Soon, the four of us arrived at mum's private hospital, and met on the stairs that led to the building.
I could sense Shade panicking beside me, I placed my right hand on her left ones. "It's alright Shade." I whispered into her ear, before entering into the building.
Doctors and nurses, began to show curtsey to Emem and I, cause they recognized us as their boss's daughters.
"Wait here," I said to the girls, before walking over to Miss Lillian, the Secretary.
"Good afternoon, Miss Ekanem." Miss Lillian greeted politely.
"Afternoon, Lillian." I replied, before glancing at my wrist watch. I had like three hours left, before the clock hit six. I needed to hurry, cause test sometimes takes time. "Is my mum in?"
Miss Lillian nodded her head, "She just finished performing a heart surgery. She'd be in her office as we speak." I nodded at her words before turning to holler at Emem.
"Hey, Emem! Come with me." I heard Emem grumbling some words which fell in line with, 'She couldn't even add the word please'.
We strode over to mum's office. Once in front of the door, I gave it a small knock before opening it.
Mum, who was busy checking some files that was placed on her desk, glanced up to see who decided to walk into her office without permission.
"Eno, Emem, what are you girls doing here?" Mum looked stunned. She definitely wasn't expecting us.
"We've got something at hand, mum." Emem said calmly, as she helped herself by sitting on one of the guest seats that was facing mum's desk.
"Is Eno expelled from school?"
"Hey," I yelled a little, as I looked at mum. "Not cool."
"Well, it's gonna happen sooner or later__"
"Or never." I said to mum.
Mum leaned back on her seat, with both hands folded below her chest. "Then what is it?"
Emem and I shared a look, before I decided to speak. "Mum, you know Shade, right?"
Mum creased her brows for a second or two. "The girl who's always with a book?" Emem and I nodded our heads.
"She got abused by her step dad, same time Emem arrived." Mum sat upright, as Emem and I took turns narrating Shade's predicament.
"So, she thinks she might be pregnant?" Emem and I nodded.
"She claims to have the signs of early pregnancy." Emem informed mother.
"I see," Mum continued. "I would like to have a word with her. Can you both accompany her to my personal lab?"
"Yes mum," Emem said almost immediately. "And thanks mum, for not judging her."
"This is an abuse, she isn't at fault here. The people at fault, are her mum and step dad. Just take her to the lab, while I grab my lab coat." Emem and I rushed out of mum's office. We quickly approached Sofia, who was trying so hard to calm a nervous Shade.
"Shade, mum asked us to take you to the lab." Shade lifted her head from her palms, to look at me. I walked over to her and grasped her right wrist. "Come on, let's go."
We slowly walked till we arrived at mum's lab. We all walked in to see mum testing the equipment she'd use on Shade.
"Let her lie over there," Mum pointed at a small bed. "And the rest of you should wait for her at the receptionist area. I need to ask her some questions, before running the test."
I looked at Shade, before giving her a small wave. Emem, Sofia and I, head out for the receptionist area, leaving mum to do her work.
"Eno," Sofia called, once we all took our seats on the fancy plastic chairs. "What if it turns out that Folarshade is actually pregnant? Worst, for her step-dad?"
"Don't say that," I sighed, "We shouldn't think negatively right now. But if it turns out that she's actually pregnant, nothing would change. She'd still be our best friend, and we'll all take good care of her."
Sofia nodded, but kept quiet after that. I turned to look at Emem, who was looking at nothingness. The situation got everyone on the edge.
An hour and some minutes passed, before a nurse woke us up to inform us that the test was ready.
We quickly rushed over to mum's lab, to see Shade nervously playing with her fingers. The three of us, decided to approach her.
"Have my mum told you the result yet?" I asked her.
She shook her head sideways, "No."
"Where is she?" Emem asked, as she sat beside Shade.
"She went out to print the result." Shade replied, before looking at me. "Eno,"
"Yeah?" I walked over to her, and held her left shoulder.
"I'm scared," She admitted with a shaky voice. "I'm scared that I wouldn't know how to take care of a child. I'm scared that I won't love my child, cause of the circumstances surrounding it's birth. I'm scared that I would never forgive my mum for neglecting and choosing Flynn over me. I'm scared that___"
"Shhhhh!" I tried shushing her. "We're here for you and would never desert you. Okay?" I cupped her cheek, so she could look at me. "If this turns out to be positive, just have this in mind that your child have just gotten herself four wonderful mothers."
Shade gave a small smile. Mission accomplished.
"Hey, what would you na__" The door swung open, and in came mother with a brown envelope. Mum looked at us, without any hint of what the situation was going to look like.
"In here," She began with a poker face. "Is the result to your test, Shade." Her eyes landed on Shade, who was still trying to control her emotions. "In here, defines your future. It's either you embrace it by facing the fact, or you continue to hate your mother for neglecting you. But I tell you, hating your mother won't change anything. Here," Mum handed Shade the brown envelope, "Open it."
Shade held the envelope in a tight grip, before looking at us.
"I'm really...... Really scared," Shade voiced out nervously. Mum gave her a reassuring nod, while I gently squeezed her shoulder.
Shade inhaled and exhaled nervously, before tearing the envelope open. She brought out the white folded paper, and slowly unfolded it.
Emem, sofia and I, glanced over Shade's shoulders, to see the result.
I gasped as I saw the printed words, then my eyes slowly landed on Shade's face.
"Shade___"
