I couldn't stop my mind from thinking about what happened at Felix's home. I could not believe we almost kissed. Gosh! I almost kissed Felix. Felix of all people!

Knock! Knock!

I hurriedly ran to the door and opened it.

"You texted me to come over. What is it? I'm__" Upon seeing Emem outside my room, I quickly got hold of her wrist and dragged her into my room, before shutting the door behind us.

"What is it Eno?" Emem demanded. "I was busy with my Geography assignment and I've got two more after that."

"Something happened today," I informed her,Β  "Something happened when I was at Felix's."

Emem squinted her eyes at me, as if observing my features. "Don't tell me you guys had__"

"Shut up, Emem!" I snapped at her. Immediately, Emem nose flared up.

"Don't tell me to shut up, okay." She snapped back. "If you ain't ready to tell me what happened, then don't! I'm going back to my room." She turned and started heading for the door.

"I almost kissed Felix," I spilled out, shutting both eyes in the process. Emem halted, to digest what I just revealed.

"WHAAAAAAAT?!" She spun round to face me. Her eyes were so wide, and her mouth formed an 'O' shape. "You're kidding me, right?" She walked over and sat down on my bed.

I shook my head, then sat down beside her. "No I'm not. I almost kissed Felix," Then stopped to think for a bit, "I mean, Felix almost kissed me."

"How did it happen?" She asked, still looking at me with stunned eyes. "You guys despised each other."

"We had a moment," I said to her. "Turns out, Felix's life wasn't all that perfect after all."

"No one's got a perfect life," Emem voiced out. "Shade thinks she might be pregnant, You got dumped by your ex boyfriend and you hate me, no one knows what's actually happening with Sofia. The point is, no one's got a perfect life."

"I don't hate you," I mumbled.

"Sure you don't," Emem said sarcastically. "You've always showcased your hatred towards me. That's the more reason why I'm always mean to you. The only time you showed a little kindness, was when you defended me today in class."

"Cause....." I dragged, "I knew you would have beaten the hell out of Osas, if I did not intervene. I was trying to avoid that."

"So in other words, you were helping Osas?" She scoffed, "That explains it."

"No, I was helping you. Fighting is prohibited. If anyone should get into trouble, it should be me. Besides, I don't hate you. I just, strongly dislike you."

"It's called hate, Eno." Emem demanded, before bringing out her phone from her pajamas pocket.

"You shouldn't blame me," I snapped a little, "I was jealous of you. Hell, I still am. You're super intelligent, mum and dad loves you more, hell, everyone loves you more. You said no one's got a perfect life?" I scoffed, "You need to rephrase that, cause you've got a perfect life."

"You're jealous of me?" Emem asked, a little bit stunned. "I'm jealous of you!" She said, spreading out her arms.

"You think mum and dad loves me more? Well, I don't think so. Every day I get home from school, either mum or dad, would come over to my room, and ask how you're doing in class and school in general. Do you think parents who dislike a child, would do that?"

"I-I___" I stuttered, "I thought they both missed you, that's why they are always locked up in your room."

"Well you thought wrong," She deadpanned. "And you're talking about friends? Yeah, I've got lots of friends. But the question is, are they real?" She sighed a little. "At least, you've got two friends that you could actually rely on. I've got no one."

I moved closer to her a little, then wrapped her in a warm hug. "I'm so sorry, Emem. I-I didn't know."

She sniffed a little before leaning back, away from my embrace. "Now you know, even I ain't perfect."

We sat in complete silence, I didn't know what to say to ease up the awkward atmosphere. Did we just bond? I wasn't sure.

"So, about you and Felix." Emem cleared her throat, "What exactly happened?"

"Turns out, Felix and his dad are not in a good relationship. He had a fight with his dad."

"Was it that serious?" Emem asked, and I nodded my head at that.

"Very. He told me things about his dad, some really sad things." I informed her. "Then all of a sudden, I saw myself almost kissing him."

"This is just wow," Emem exclaimed. "Who would have thought this would ever happen?"

"My problem now is, how do I face him at school tomorrow?" I exclaimed, dramatically shaking Emem's shoulders for help. "We aren't done with our project. He said he'll have to take his laptop to school tomorrow, so we could work on it."

"You've just got to face him and bury those feelings for now." Emem advised.

"That's a stupid idea," I said to her.

"You're stupid," She fired back, making me to laugh.

"How's your project going?" I asked her.

Emem sighed, before landing backward on my bed with a loud groan. "Seems like Dafe's got a big competition this Friday. He's always training at the basket ball's court. There's no time for the project."

Oh, the Greenville high competition. Both the boys and the girls, are separately training extra hard for the competition.

"I think I'll go with Felix's idea," Emem sighed. "I'll have to take my laptop to school and when Dafe's free, we'll both work on it."

"That's sounds good," I smiled at her. "Hey, what do you think we should do about Shade's case?"

"Oh," Emem sat upright, so she could look at me. "Shade came over when you were at Felix's. She came over to look for you. But I told her you were at Felix's, to work on your project work."

"What happened?"

"I took her over to my room and we talked about her predicament. I even showed her some diseases on the Internet, which had the same symptoms with that of early pregnancies, just so I could ease her pain. I was thinking," She began but then stopped.

"Go on," I urged her, "What's your idea?"

"Why don't we take her to mum's hospital after school tomorrow, for a test." She suggested, but I shook my head slightly.

"I thoughts we all wanted to keep this away from the adults, and just confront only her mother?"

"Well I think the adults are the only people that could help." Emem smartly answered. "Mum could examine her and then, we'd tell her everything Shade's passing through. Mum could then convince dad, so they could have an adult conversation with Shade's mum. And I'm also aware that Sofia's dad is a chief judge, he could help too."

"That's actually smart," I said, feeling proud of her. "We'll inform Shade and Sofia tomorrow."

Emem nodded, before getting up from my bed. She stretched a little and then turned to look at me. "Well that's that, I'm going back to my room."

I watched her as she walked towards the door. "Goodnight, and don't let the bed bugs bite."

"Well, I'll prefer the bed bugs any day over you." She laughed, as she watched me pretend to be hurt.

I dramatically placed my palm on my chest, feigning hurt. "Ouch!"

Emem chuckled, before she turned to face the door. "Goodnight, Eno." She opened the door and walked out of my room.

Once she was gone, my mind wondered back to Felix. "What the hell am I going to do?"
