𝐅𝐈𝐕𝐄, death's bride
Sukuna's real plans for Mizuhime are finally revealed >:3 They might not seem as bad right now, but trust me... you're gonna be feeling bad for her later on once the pain really hits. (yes i'm gonna make her suffer more)
JOGO WAS SO FUCKED. THIS was worse than when he fought against Gojo. At least he had backup and the humans there helped to distract him too.
Meanwhile, he now had no backup and the only human who could've helped to distract Sukuna had fainted, which was just his fucking luck.
"You're next, cursed spirit," the King said, glancing over at him coldly. "What do you need?"
"N... nothing," Jogo said feebly, hesitantly looking up to make eye-contact.
He frowned. "What?"
"Our objective is to fully revive you," he explained. "Right now, Itadori is helpless to counter, but this is only temporary. Surely you know that better than anyone."
The second the words left his lips, he harshly bit the inside of his tongue. Did he sound too disrespectful? Too demanding? He couldn't help it. They were at the cusp of their plan now!
"Make a binding vow with Itadori Yuji before he takes control again! A binding vow that'll let you take over his body permanently! Shibuya is crawling with Itadori's friends! Use them as leverage!"
"Not necessary," Sukuna shot him down. "I have my own plans."
Jogo didn't know if he was hallucinating, but he swore he saw one of Sukuna's lower pair of eyes steal a glance at the unconscious blue haired girl on the floor. The same one that he supposedly cared about (the very thought of the King of Curses caring about someone—and being open about it—still rendered him speechless).
He didn't want to voice his doubts about the King of Curses, but Jogo was beginning to question this man. It had been months since Itadori Yuji had become his vessel, and so far, Sukuna had done nothing about it. Not only that, but he apparently became besotted to some human girl as well? Just what was going on?!
Sukuna released a low chuckle, which snapped him back into focus.
"You cursed spirits sure are desperate," he noted. "As a token of my appreciation for the fingers, if you can land even one hit on me, I'll do as you cursed spirits ask for now. As for my first order of business... How about I kill every human in Shibuya? All but two, that is."
"Two?" Jogo uttered.
"Obviously, this idiot right here," he motioned to Mizuhime's unconscious form. "As for the second one... well, that's none of your business."
Mizuhime and Fushiguro Megumi were too important for Sukuna to risk. He had his plans for the both of them, and he would've been greatly pissed if any harm were to come to them before he could even enact any of his plans.
"It's a deal," Jogo agreed.
Sukuna's lips curled up into a sick smile. "Good. Before we start, if any harm comes to this woman..." He trailed off, letting the threat hang in the air.
He nodded shakily, "I got it."
Jogo was terrified out of his mind, but he was certain that he could do this. It wasn't like he was asked to defeat him, all he had to do was land a single hit! How hard could it be?
I'll make this quick then. I'll launch the attack, grab the girl, and get somewhere far away, he decided, readying his hands. A ball of fire started to form. "Maximu—"
He didn't even get a chance to finish the word. The second he began to speak, he was immediately punched in the face. Sukuna's fist caved into his face, cracking his teeth and making blood spurt from his nose. He flew back, but before he could hit the wall, the front of his shirt was grabbed and he was instantly thrown through the ceiling.
Explosions could be heard as his body slammed through every floor of the building before finally shooting through the roof. Soon enough, he was airborne. Sukuna jumped after him, using pieces of flying rubble as stepping stones.
Below them, the building was in smoke and flames. Jogo wondered if the woman was alright, because he had a feeling that if anything went wrong, he'd die in an instant. Sukuna didn't seem too concerned, probably because he knew he could end this before she got hurt.
"IS THAT ALL YOU GOT, CURSED SPIRIT?!" He cackled.
"Not yet..." Jogo's voice shook. "NOT YET!"
He tried to blast him back with another fireball, but his hands were sliced right off. Sukuna was out of sight, but he could sense him in the back. Before he could turn, he was grabbed by the back of his neck. Together, they plummeted through the air and hit another building. It was a skyscraper this time and Sukuna had a lot of fun bashing him through all sixty floors until they hit the very bottom.
Jogo's body was a mess once he hit the floor. His arms and hands were still regenerating and he could feel his bottom jaw falling apart, bleeding all over his front. He tried to speak, but all that came out were panicked gurgles.
Behind him, Sukuna stood strong. He craned his neck up to look at the massive hole they left, admiring the sight of the moon.
"The moonlight's illumination makes it easier to see how pathetic you are." He smirked.
Jogo felt like a fool.
"How strong am I in terms of Sukuna's fingers?"
"Being generous, I'd say about eight or nine."
I knew... I knew it, but I didn't think the difference would be this great!
While his mouth healed, Jogo tensed up upon sensing Sukuna quietly approaching him from behind. He nearly flinched when he felt a pair of hands grab him by the back of his shirt again.
"C'mon. You can still do it. I'll keep you company until I get bored." He taunted.
Jogo whirled around. With a wave of his hand, the whole building exploded. Flames erupted from each of the floors, engulfing it completely. As if sensing his attack, Sukuna had already left the building, perfectly unharmed.
Jogo jumped out of the burning building, meeting Sukuna on the street.
"Maximum: Meteor!" He shouted.
He summoned a gigantic flaming meteor from the palm of his hand.
Sukuna grinned at the sight of it. Finally, this fight was getting good.

11:01 PM.In front of Shibuya Stream.
"Kusakabe... haven't we checked enough of these buildings?" Panda complained. "They're still in the curtain, but thanks to Toge, the civilians are somewhere safe. Let's find Satoru already. Toge told me that Yuji and Hime are on their way to the Fukutoshin Line B5F, but where the heck is that?"
"Gojo's not the only person who matters, you know!" Kusakabe snapped. "What if there's someone scared and hiding somewhere? For instance... a young schoolgirl. Just think if we didn't find her! We might as well be accomplices to the ruination of a bright future full of promise!"
Panda, unable to sense his teacher's bullshit, completely fell for it. "I... I guess you're right!"
"If you get it, then get back to searching! No stone left unturned, you idiot!" He ordered.
Panda saluted dutifully. When the cursed corpse turned away, Kusakabe's shoulders dropped.
This is bad, he paled. I'm at my limit with the excuses. There's no way I'm gonna go down to B5F. I gotta buy some more time 'cause I don't wanna die! The fewer people around, the sharper Panda's nose becomes. He might end up going to B5F by himself. But I wanna avoid that too 'cause I don't wanna be alone in Shibuya right now!
"Kusakabe!" Panda suddenly called out. The man straightened up quickly. "I'm gonna look over there!" He pointed in the wrong direction.
"Gotcha. Look carefully!"
Even though he's a Panda, he's more humane than I am. But since he's a Panda, he's got no sense of direction in Shibuya. He doesn't realize that the Fukutoshin Line is literally around the corner if we go from ground level.
He watched, feeling a little guilty as Panda tried to look for terrified civilians hiding in a cake shop.
I'm gonna buy some time by pretending to be lost after entering the station from the Shin-Minami entrance, he strategized, nodding to himself. After all, this is the group that sealed Gojo... and what the hell's up with the huge cursed energy appearing and disappearing?
Suddenly the pair paused. They turned around, spotting some curse users watching them a few levels up. It was a man and a woman. Kusakabe vaguely recognized them as sorcerers from Geto's 'family'.
"You're jujutsu high sorcerers, right?" The man asked. "Just give up. I don't wanna kill a sorcerer."
"...Panda." Kusakabe quietly whispered.
"There's three behind us. Probably more hiding." Panda whispered back.
Kusakabe noted that before addressing the two in front of them. "I don't wanna be killed either, but I really can't say 'sure!'. Please tell us your story and take as muuuch time as you want."
Luck was on their side, because apparently the people they were dealing with were a bunch of chumps.
They didn't hesitate to talk about their sob story of how the group fell apart when Geto died, and how apparently their master's body was being used like a zombie (Panda and Kusakabe conveniently blocked that part out since their story was getting too long), and how they all promised to see each other again when the time was right (which was now).
To Kusakabe's disappointment, the story-time lasted less than five minutes.
"So, do you surrender? I don't like indecisive men," the woman said.
Damn, is the story finished already? Kusakabe frowned.
Not like it mattered much. These sorcerers seemed to be around their level, not Special Grade. He'd much rather waste his time fighting them than dying by a Special Grade cursed spirit or curse user.
He began to unsheathe his sword.
The male curse user sighed. "So that's your answer."
He lifted his arm, but before anything could happen, a series of explosions could be heard in the distance. Even worse, they could sense it: two pairs of cursed energy. Both were powerful, but one of them felt insanely dangerous.
Up above, they could see two small dots fighting. Panda swore he could see a flash of pink hair.
"Run!" Kusakabe barked.
Panda and Kusakabe tried to bolt away, but the other curse users that were in hiding intercepted them.
"Not now!" The woman yelled. "We don't have time for—"
Kusakabe drew out his sword and sliced them apart in ease.
"Listen up, you curse users!" He shouted at the people above. "I dunno what the hell happened, but those two fighting there are Special Grade! Think of them as elephants tap dancing on ants! To be clear, we're the ants! Hurry up and run—"
"—I won't allow that." A deep voice said, followed by a sinister presence that appeared at his side.
Everyone froze.
It was the King of Curses.
He stood in-between Panda and Kusakabe, head angled upwards to watch the massive fiery meteor about to descend on them. The two curse users couldn't see it, but they could feel the burning heat and see the sudden brightness shining over them.
If the King of Curses didn't kill them, then that meteor certainly would.
"To all humans in the vicinity, until I say otherwise, you are forbidden from moving," he ordered. There was a small smile on his face as he watched the meteor get closer. "If you break this rule, I will kill you."
His voice was so smooth and casual that barely any of them could hear him over the sound of their hearts beating erratically. It didn't help that the crackle of the flames was growing louder and louder, as well as the rise of temperature.
Sukuna laughed like a child whose favorite TV show was seconds away from being aired. "Hold on!"
All four of their faces were sweating, full of dread as they waited for the King to allow them to move. Hardly any of them were even breathing, too scared that breathing would count as 'moving'.
"Not yet," Sukuna teased, slowly bringing his hands up. "Not... yet..."
The area was being lit up as the meteor got closer and closer. The four sorcerers felt like their bodies were lighting up. Panda could even feel his fur beginning to singe just from the heat alone. It was so hot now... it was getting harder to breathe...
Finally, Sukuna happily clapped his hands together. "Now!"
The sorcerers were gone, running for their lives as the meteor finally struck. The impact was enough to decimate a large portion of Shibuya, setting it ablaze and flattening everything around it.
Once they were certain they reached a safe zone, Kusakabe and Panda stopped running. The elder promptly collapsed, nearly hyperventilating as he clutched a street pole.
"That was... that was him, wasn't it?" He asked shakily.
"Yes," Panda answered grimly. "Yuji must've lost control somehow. But that's not all."
"Oh god," he moaned. "What is it now?"
"Toge said that Mizuhime and Yuji were together. If Sukuna's in control of Yuji's body now, then... where's Mizuhime?"
━━━━━━・❪ 🩸 ❫ ・━━━━━━
Standing atop of the meteor was Jogo, huffing and puffing from the energy it took to create it. He looked down from the meteor, but all he could see was fire and barren ground. He allowed himself to feel some relief.
He had done it. "Even Sukuna must've suffered some damage from that."
"If it hit."
He froze.
Sukuna was sitting down just several feet away. He looked perfectly unscathed. The meteor never even touched him.
Fuck! Jogo inwardly cursed.
"Why don't you use your domain?" Sukuna asked curiously, his cheek leaning against his fist. He looked bored with the fight, and that irritated Jogo to no end.
"I know I'd lose in a battle of domains," he admitted through gritted teeth.
"Is it because that's what happened with Gojo Satoru?" He asked knowingly. "Haha! Spoken like a true loser."
Jogo's eye twitched.
"But since things are getting interesting, how about I fight using your specialty." Sukuna slowly rose to his feet. "◼ open!"
His hand lit up and Jogo's eyes widened in shock.
"Those are... flames?"
"Oh, that's right. I thought you'd know about this... but I suppose a cursed spirit wouldn't." Sukuna shrugged.
Isn't Sukuna's cursed technique slicing and slashing everything?! Jogo stumbled back. How is he doing this?!
"Don't worry," Sukuna smirked. "I won't cheat by revealing my cursed technique. Now get ready. Let's have a fire-power battle."
Jogo hastily put his hands in position just as Sukuna did the same. He watched on in fascination and terror as Sukuna positioned himself like an archer notching an arrow, the arrow being made up of flames.
They let their attacks loose, and Jogo knew he was about to die.
His vision went white, and when he opened his eyes he was met with the faces of his fellow disaster curses: Hanami, Dagon, and Ranto. He hadn't even known Dagon had died until now.
He walked towards them, feeling almost like he was at peace.
"Sorry. Hanami. Dagon. Ranto," he apologized.
Ranto sighed. He had been the first to die out of the disaster curses, having been killed by Mizuhime during the Kyoto Goodwill Event.
"It's fine," he reassured. "This is the King of Curses, after all..."
"Mahito is still alive," Hanami informed him.
"Bwooo..." Dagon cooed.
"Death is something humans fear and detest. However, humans linger beyond it as well. Death is a mirror for humans. Mahito is that mirror," Hanami explained gently. "Mahito will continue to grow stronger. That's why you propped him up as the leader."
"When we're reborn, we'll no longer be the same as before." Jogo stated. "Even so, I'll be anticipating the day we meet again. We're the true humans."
His friends disappeared, and a familiar deep voice sounded from behind.
"So you wanted to become human?"
Jogo numbly turned around to face his killer.
"Yeah, yeah. I know what you mean," Sukuna waved him off. "Not becoming a human literally. More like taking their place, right? That said, it makes it all the more foolish."
Jogo flinched. Hearing his dreams being stepped on just made his death all the more bitter to him.
"Humans flocking together. Curses flocking together. Comparing themselves to those around them leads to weakness and stunts their growth. You should have burnt everything you desired to a cinder without thinking. To reach the heights of Gojo Satoru and not worry about the future or identity. But you lacked the hunger to take hold of your desires." He told him.
Jogo looked down. "You're probably right."
"But you know," Sukuna went on. "This was actually fun while it lasted. Humans. Jujutsu sorcerers. Cursed spirits. You're not bad compared to those I fought over the last thousand years. Stand proud. You're strong."
Jogo's single eye widened in disbelief. He even felt something wet falling from his eye. He reached up with a trembling hand to touch the wet trails.
"What... is this?" He asked aloud.
"Don't ask me," Sukuna snorted as the white scenery faded away, revealing Jogo's body burning up into a crisp atop of the meteor. "I don't know what that is either."
Once Jogo was dead, Sukuna hopped off of the meteor and headed straight for the station he left Mizuhime in. The building was still on fire but fortunately, it didn't spread bad enough that it reached to the bottom where she was.
She was still knocked out when he found her, but there was smoke covering the floor. Quickly, he picked her up and took her outside where the air was fresh.
He made sure to heal her with Reverse Cursed Technique, figuring there must've been smoke in her lungs. At least her hair was fine. She would surely throw a fit if she realized he let her precious hair get burned.
Just as he finished healing her, a figure jumped down behind him and dropped to a kneel.
"Master Sukuna, I've come to escort you."
Sukuna threw a glance behind him. "Who are you?"
He saw the neatly chopped white hair and it clicked.
"Uraume?!"
"It's nice to see you again," they greeted respectfully, before curious dark pink eyes spotted the unconscious girl in front of them. "Master Sukuna, if I may ask, who is that?"
Fair skin. Blue hair. They wouldn't be surprised if she had blue eyes too. It reminded Uraume all too much of the women Sukuna used to keep. Did he fall back into old habits or was this something else?
A wicked smirk crawled over his face. "I'm glad you asked," he purred. "This woman is to be my queen."
If Uraume was a lesser person, they would've allowed their jaw to drop in shock.
"Your... queen?" They managed to utter out, blinking in astonishment. They knew that their master had a peculiar obsession of collecting women with blue hair and blue eyes... but they never expected that he would go and do this.
"She's an old friend from a thousand years ago," was all Sukuna said, but Uraume managed to piece things together.
An old friend. It surely explained why their master was so obsessed with collecting women with blue hair and eyes—she was the reason why. She was the original.
"She is mortal," Uraume noted. They didn't know much about her, but they knew her as one of the students from Jujutsu Tech. Geto had mentioned her a couple of times, but Uraume didn't see anything special. She was a sorcerer from this generation, not an incarnated one. So how did she meet Sukuna a thousand years ago?
"For now," Sukuna's smile was all teeth and malice. "I've been training her, you see. I'll build her up to be at her strongest, and once she's reached her prime, she will ascend just like I have."
Uraume fell quiet at this. From the little information they received from Geto, she was a regular student and sorcerer. Ordinary. Not one fit for an ascension like their master had been.
"And if she doesn't?" They couldn't help but ask.
"Easy," Sukuna's grin grew sinister. "Then I'll make her ascend whether she wants to or not. I'll kill her with my bare hands and proceed with the ascension myself. She will grow into her new body and be immortal forever. At my side, right where she belongs."
"You will kill her?" Uraume blinked.
"Of course," he snorted as if the idea of keeping her alive was preposterous. "I can't have her remain as a feeble human. They grow weaker, they grow older, and then they die. I refuse to let that happen. Immortality will become of her."
"I understand then," Uraume bowed.
There was a brief moment of silence. Sukuna turned back to Mizuhime. His hand caressed her face, before lowering down to her throat and lingering there. He could do it right now if he wanted to; all he had to do was wrap his fingers around her neck and squeeze. No cursed energy needed. She would die and come back. She will ascend. She would live forever.
He could imagine the look on her face once he did finally kill her; the horror, anger, and betrayal. It made him want to laugh. He imagined himself licking up her tears and sucking on her blood as her body thrashed underneath him. She would die betrayed, and come back stronger than ever.
Maybe she would hate him for it, but he didn't care. She had all of eternity to get over it. He could always force her to forgive him anyway.
Abruptly, he pulled away, sensing that something was wrong. Fushiguro Megumi was in danger.
He picked up Mizuhime in his arms and walked over to Uraume who rose.
"Master Sukuna?"
"I have urgent business to deal with." He said promptly.
"I see..."
"It won't be much longer until I'm completely free. Don't neglect your preparations," he reminded them. "Also, take care of her. I don't want to leave her out here."
He carefully deposited Mizuhime into their waiting arms.
"Remember. Keep her safe. I need her alive... for now." He said sternly.
"I understand, Master Sukuna." They bowed. "I shall be waiting for you."
— author's note —
I'M SO SORRY ABOUT THE SHORT CHAPTER!!! I was sick when I wrote this and by the time I felt better, I was too lazy to go back and add more details 😅
Anyway, I was sooo shocked when I read the manga chapter where Sukuna tells Jogo to stand proud cuz he's strong. I was like "holy shit, he's so NICE here???" compared to Gojo who literally shits on Jogo 😭😭😭
At first, I thought maybe Jogo was just imagining it cuz everything did turn white and he saw his dead friends. But when Sukuna says "I don't know what that is either" in response to Jogo crying, they're no longer in that white space and Jogo's body is burning up. So yeah... I think Sukuna really did say that super nice and sweet thing lol
Anyways, I should've asked this back when I was still doing "tsunami", but who here initially thought Sukuna was a cursed spirit?! 🙋♀️ cuz I definitely did, no shame in that tho! I think a lot of us did 😂
But yeah, Sukuna is neither human or cursed spirit. He's basically more like Tengen. We don't have a name for it yet, but ppl have just been calling it "ascended beings" (which explains why his original form looks like... that).
It took me until the Culling Games arc to piece it together, but I should've realized it sooner 💀 Sukuna was always saying shit like "you cursed spirits" or "if i were a cursed spirit" etc, and I was like, "wait are you saying you AREN'T one?!" 💀💀💀
