๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐
๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐ lot easier to accomplish last night, mostly because of all the stress and the anxiety was wearing her out. Liz knew she was going to pass out once she finished dinner and her head hit the pillow.
ย ย However, what she wasn't ready for was the haunting nightmares that came with the fast slumber. The same nightmare she had to relive over and over again that would sometimes result in her horrible night terrors. She thought this one would be a bit more clearer, especially since she had gotten the whole truth to what happened and how she actually escaped the explosion.
ย ย However, it was the same and confusing as it's always been. Liz hardly remembers a thing as she slipped in and out of consciousness, only the sound of her mother trying to wake her father while also trying to keep Liz awake and assure her that everything was going to be okay while reaching to unstrap her seat belt. The only thing different was that this time, Liz was able to see the blood in her mother's mouth as she spoke, the thick red liquid dripping down the corner of her lip and to her chin before Liz slipped away again.
ย ย When she woke again, she heard her mother yelling at someone, just like Liz always remembers every time she relives this hellish day. She is not sure why she thought this nightmare would be different, maybe because she had gotten more of the story from Emmett, who had been the one to rescue her from the scene before the explosion happened. The only thing that did change was she was able to remember looking up to see Emmett's face, but Liz thinks that might have been just her own dream landscape adding him in there now that she could put a face to her rescuer, her subconscious could have just added him in there.
ย ย Liz thankfully woke with only a small gasp, grateful that she wasn't locked into a horrible night terror. They may happen rarely but she still fears them. As she sat up on her bed, comforter still tangled in her legs, she rubbed a hand over her face as she tried to relax.
ย ย Was she really just hearing things? It sounded like her mother was talking to someone specific, not just yelling out for help. Emmett said she was already gone by the time he arrived and Liz has no reason to doubt he was lying. So maybe there was someone else at the scene of the crash? Someone who Lori Chambers saw and was demanding they helped her daughter?
ย ย Her ringtone going off startled the curly haired blonde, Liz grabbing her blackberry off her nightstand and picking up immediately when she saw Bella's name flashing on the screen, a bit confused because it was seven in the morning and school didn't start for another hour. It's true Liz has kind of ignored her friend this weekend, but she was ignoring everyone after spending the day with Jasper and his family. Her mind wasn't fast enough to deal with anything else, so she wanted to stay off the grid for a little bit.
ย ย "Hello?" Her voice was dry and raspy, resulting in Liz trying to clear her throat when she heard Bella's voice on the other end.
ย ย "They're vampires."
ย ย At first, Liz didn't catch what she said at first, the girl had spoken so fast and frantically that she had missed it. It also was because Liz's mind was still trying to figure out if she imagined her mother yelling at someone and if she really saw a shadow, or if it was her mind playing tricks on her after she hit her head. "What?"
ย ย "The Cullen's. They're vampires. I'm sure of it." Bella repeated, this time clearer and more elaborate. Liz practically froze, her eyes going wide.
ย ย "W-What do you mean?" Liz isn't a terrible liar but she's not a good one either. Keeping her eye condition a secret from Ester was extremely hard but she managed, that's only because she was prepared. She was completely thrown off guard with her friend's sudden ambush and her voice practically choking, shock consuming her at her friends' revelation.
ย ย ย "Look, I know it sounds insane. I feel insane saying this, but look at the facts. They hardly ever eat their food, they have pale skin and they're skin is cold to the touch. Their eyes go dark, I know you've seen it. Remember Edward stopping Tyler's van from crushing me? He was on the other side of the lot, Liz. The speed and the strength, I mean he stopped it with his hands." Bella hysterically explained on the other end and all Liz could do was sit on her bed, stunned, letting her friend ramble on and on while she tries to figure out what she is going to say. "And last night at Port Angeles, these guys tried attacking me in the street when I went to get that book I was telling you about-"
ย ย Liz was suddenly snapped out of her stunned state. "What guys? Are you okay? Did they hurt you?"
ย ย "They tried to, but no. Edward showed up and scared them off."
ย ย "Edward?" Liz practically choked on her own spit. So that's where he went off to when she left the Cullen's last night.
ย ย "Yeah, he just showed up out of nowhere. I think he was following me. He started freaking out, claiming he knew what they were thinking and how he wanted to rip them to shreds." Bella rants quickly, Liz tried to keep her comments to herself until she finished, mostly because she actually did not know what to say to her friend right now. "He then took me to dinner and then told me he could read minds. Like actually read minds. It also explains what happened to Waylon Forge. I don't think he died from an animal attack."
ย ย Liz did a double take from her last words. "Waylon Forge is dead?"
ย ย She didn't know the man personally, but her father did and they were friends. This was definitely news to her.
ย ย "Yeah, I'm surprised you didn't hear about it. It's all everyone can talk about." Bella explains, her once frantic voice sounding a bit remorseful for the lost. Liz was just stunned, replaying what Bella said before. 'I don't think it was an animal attack.' She could be right, what animal would do this. But then she started to think of the Cullen's and remembered they couldn't do this. Learning they were vampires was a huge surprise but from what Liz could gather, they do not seem like the type to murder, and due it so sloppy without covering up their mess.
ย ย "I've had a lot on my mind." Liz covered up, which wasn't at all a lie.
ย ย "Look, I know this sounds crazy but I did all the research of the Quileute Legends and looked more into the cold ones, and it makes sense, Liz. Edward is a vampire. So is Jasper. So is their entire family."
ย ย It takes a lot to render Elizabeth Chambers speechless, but boy was she lost for words at this particular moment. The shock of Waylon's death confused her more than ever. She normally always had a comment to say or something to input, it's true she chooses not to express those comments most of the time in a way to mind her own business, but never did she have anything she didn't want to say.
ย ย Right now, she didn't know what to do. She knew Bella was smart and that she was going to figure this out, just like she had. Sure, Liz had hoped Bella would confirm it first with Edward before speaking her theories out loud and this way the two can talk about how they are slightly involved with two vampires and how their lives just became a fairy tale story.
ย ย What does she do? Does she confirm them and break the promise she made to the Cullen family about not telling a soul? Does she lie to someone who has become an amazing friend? Or does she avoid this question as much as possible until Bella learns all the facts and gets it confirmed by someone that wasn't her? Yeah, Liz liked option three the best.
ย ย "Bella, I think you need to talk to Edward about this."
ย ย "You believe me though, right?" Bella asked, her voice sounding a bit nervous and almost insecure that she was freaking out her new friend. "Liz?"
ย ย "I, uh... I, I can't- sheeeeeet. Bel-la, I can't hear- sheeeeeesh."
ย ย "Liz? What's going on?"
ย ย "Sheeeesh. Bella I think we are losing connection- sheeeeesh." Liz has no idea what she is doing but she was in panic mode and was acting on impulse.
ย ย "Liz, are you faking losing connection to avoid the question?"
ย ย "What? Bella, I can't hear you- sheeeeesh."
ย ย "I can hear you fine."
ย ย "Bella- sheeeeesh. I can't, sheeeeesh." Liz abruptly ends the call quickly and chucks the phone onto her bed, slapping a hand over her mouth. She immediately started feeling like crap for dismissing Bella like that, but in her defense, she really did not know what to say to her.
ย ย She just needed to wait for Bella to talk to Edward and hopefully Edward will confirm it just like Jasper had and then she won't be forced to lie to her. Now all Liz has to do is avoid the Swan female until then. They only had gym class, lunch and English together. Yeah, this was gonna be a lot harder than she thought.
ย ย Pushing it to the back of her mind, Liz just decided to deal with it when the time came and went to get ready for school. Taking a quick shower, she quickly got changed before blow drying her hair and then let her bushy curls go free. She decided to wear something warm today, going with a pair of black skinny jeans and a thin white long sleeve shirt with a red crewneck over top. She slipped on a pair of brown Uggs and didn't bother to do her makeup as she didn't really have time, keeping her hair tamed was enough work of its own that it took up too much time.
ย ย Grabbing her history textbook and shoving it in her bag, Liz passed the calendar that was hanging by her door and froze. She moved towards it to get a better look and then tried to remember what day of the month it was. She hasn't really been that good at paying attention to it, ever since the accident the days have passed by in almost a blur. She knew it was February, but the last she remembers it was the beginning of the month. It can't really be close to the end could it?
ย ย She then reached into her back pocket and pulled out her phone, stunned at the date that flashed on her home screen. It's February 18th. "Holy shit. It's my birthday." She whispers to herself, stunned by the realization.
ย ย How could she have forgotten it? She knew coming back to Forks that her birthday was coming up in a few weeks, but now it's here and she can't believe she actually forgot her own birthday. She was finally seventeen, and her mind was rearing from all that has been going on in just one weekend.
ย ย It shouldn't really be a surprise that she had forgotten her birthday, she has been pretty occupied lately with learning the truth about her surviving the accident, revealing her most sacred secret to someone she used to think hated her guts and what else? Oh, that's right, she learned that he and his entire family are some self proclaimed vegetarian vampires. And the real kicker is, Liz thinks she might be falling for one of them.
ย ย Liz felt like an idiot just thinking that. Yeah, fall for a vampire who struggles the most not to drink your blood. That sounds exactly like a stupid thing Liz Chambers would do. It was all a bit surreal for her slow mind to handle. But nonetheless, after last night, she could not deny the way her heart fluttered when she grabbed his hand or how he knew how to make her feel calm and like everything was going to be okay.
ย ย If it wasn't for the reassurance that she had some strange affect on his abilities, then she would worry that he was controlling her emotions and forcing her to stay calm. But he wasn't, just being near him was doing that to her. Also, she actually trusts him, which is saying a lot since she doesn't trust a lot of people outside her family and small group of friends.
ย ย Making her way down stairs, she was surprised to find the house empty. Normally she would find Ester and Danny already at the table eating breakfast and waiting for the youngest Chambers sister to wake up and join them. Walking into the small kitchen, she was about to call Ester when she saw a posted note stuck to the fridge.
Had to get to school early for a test. Danny drove me and then he's heading straight to work. There is cereal in the cabinet, have a good day. -Ester
ย ย A frown made its way onto the blonde's features. It seems she wasn't the only one who forgot her birthday. The Chambers sisters always made a big deal out of each other's birthdays. They went out of the way to buy each other a fancy gift even if they couldn't afford it, they would always find a way to make the day special. It's true the sisters' relationship has been fractured due to recent events but Liz thought at least she would have gotten a card or something. If anything, just a simple happy birthday written on the note would have been nice. But there was nothing and Liz couldn't help but feel a little bitter about this.
ย ย Annoyed and upset, Liz didn't bother to eat breakfast, just grabbing her helmet and headed towards her bike, already wanting this day over with.
><><><
๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐ knew it was her birthday, she was expecting to be greeted by her friends with warm smiles and a cupcake, just like they did every single year for the birthday girl. They did it for each other since they all became close friends. Paul used to be a part of it, but due to the fact that he was practically dead to her, Liz didn't expect to see him in the parking lot like he normally would.
ย ย It wasn't anything extreme. Normally she would be bombarded by her friends, all of them wishing her a happy birthday and then giving her a cupcake with a single candle. Sometimes, if they had time, they would decorate each other's lockers for the occasion, but that's normally if one of them was able to sneak into the school the night before. It was very hard nowadays because the school had caught on to how they would wedge something in the back doors to keep it from locking at night.
ย ย But when Liz pulled up into her parking space and shut off the rumbling of her bike, she was disappointed when she saw her friends just standing there, talking among themselves, like they clearly didn't just hear her pull in. Trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, Liz grabs her bags and secures her helmet under her arm before making her way towards her friend group, forcing a small smile on her lips. "Hey, guys."
ย ย The four looked up and grinned at the blonde, Jessica being the first to speak. "Hey, Liz. Oh my god, did you hear about Waylon Forge?"
ย ย "Yeah, that's horrible what happened to him. An animal attack they are saying?" Liz tried to keep a neutral expression, Bella's words replaying in her mind. 'I don't think it was an animal attack.' It made Liz slightly search the parking lot for a certain vampire clan but sighed when she didn't see them in sight.
ย ย "How did an animal get to his boat?" Angela asked curiously.
ย ย "I don't know but I'm never going to hike again until they kill this animal." Eric expresses, wrapping an arm around his new girlfriend. Liz blinked, almost forgetting they were together now for a minute there. It was still so new and she couldn't help but be happy for them.
ย ย "Agreed." Both Mike and Jess said in sync, the conversation falling silent and Liz tried not to feel disappointed that they seemed to not remember, despite the seriousness of this upsetting news but tried to give her friends the benefit of the doubt. Soon, Jessica broke the strange silence, grabbing the curly blonde's attention and changing the subject completely.
ย ย "So, where have you been, Liz? I tried calling you this weekend, I wanted you to see the dress I picked out for the dance."
ย ย "Yeah, me too." Angela added in, looking at her friend with a sad smile. "I even sent you a picture of it but you never responded. Did you not like it?"
ย ย "What? Of course I did, Ang. I'm sorry, this weekend was pretty intense and I really just had a lot on my mind. I really didn't mean to ghost you guys." She apologized to the best of her ability, feeling guilty for having ignored them.
ย ย "It's okay, we get it." Angela reassures her, thinking it had something to do with the accident and her parents, which she sort of did, along with meeting a family of vampires and having huge emotional talks about her deepest secret while also getting close to a certain southern gentleman.
ย ย Jessica nodded in agreement. "Yeah, and I can also show you my dress later. You are going to think it's extreme but it just screams me."
ย ย "I'm sure it does," the blonde muttered, looking between her friends and getting slightly annoyed. Okay, she really wasn't the only one who forgot her birthday apparently. She tried not to be upset, thinking with everything going on that they just pushed it to the back of their mind. She didn't need a cupcake or a decorated locker, but hearing the words would be nice. "So, um, does anyone know what day it is?"
ย ย "It's Monday. Aka, the worst day ever invented." Eric examined, earning nods of agreement from the others. Liz forced a stiff chuckle but kept her face neutral.
ย ย "I meant the date. Is it February 17th or is it the 18th?"
ย ย The four shrugged, Jessica pulling up her phone to look at the date before confirming. "It's the 18th." Liz grew agitated when none of them blinked an eye and anger started to consume her, for which Jessica noticed. "Why? Do you have something planned for today?"
ย ย ย Liz did her best to keep calm, not wanting to show how hurt she was by not only her sister forgetting her birthday but her closest friends as well. She has never forgotten one of their birthdays and even though she forgot it herself, she has an excuse because she has had a lot on her mind. Her frustration was clear and she glared at her so called friends in annoyance, rolling her eyes at Jessica's question. "No. Clearly nothing is going on today. Excuse me."
ย ย ย Without another word, Liz pushed passed them, making sure to shove Mike out of her way with her shoulder, which he grimaces and mutters a curse word under his breath. Liz was angry, true, but really she was just upset. She can't help but be hurt by this. Her parents never forgot her birthday and she is sure if they were here, she would have entered the living room to a bunch of balloons and a large banner, with a freshly baked cake. It only made her miss them even more and her heart broke, knowing this was the first birthday she was having without them. She made sure to focus on her anger to keep herself from crying as she made her way towards her locker.
ย ย ย Reaching into her pocket, she was about to call Bella, the only friend she knew she couldn't be upset with for forgetting her birthday because she didn't know when it was, but decided against it. Bella wasn't there with her friends like she normally was and after Liz rudely dismissed her this morning and hung up on her, she wouldn't blame Bella for being upset with her and not want to speak to her. It only annoyed her more.
ย ย Gritting her teeth, she grabbed her books for class and shoved them in her bag, slamming her locker shut and jumping out of her skin when she saw a familiar pair of golden orbs staring at her. Liz cursed, placing a hand over her heart racing as Jasper stared at her in what she thinks is concern. "Damn it, Jasper. Try to remember I am human and am prone to heart attacks."
ย ย "You're too young and healthy for such a thing." He says effortlessly, his eyes studying her carefully. "Why are you so upset?"
ย ย "I'm not," Liz denied, but Jasper raised his brows to show he wasn't buying it and her shoulders just slacked. "I'm not. I'm just... frustrated is all. Have you seen Bella? I think she might be upset with me."
ย ย "I saw her with Edward this morning." Jasper tells her and Liz sighed in relief.
ย ย "Oh, thank goodness!" Liz couldn't help but laugh. "I didn't realize I would be tested to keep your guys' secret so soon."
ย ย ย "What do you mean?" Jasper questioned immediately, slightly alarmed.
ย ย "Bella figured it out, just like I did. She called me this morning and I had to fake losing connection with her to keep from telling her the truth." Liz explains, leaning back into her locker and next to Jasper. It is then she noticed the stares she was receiving from her fellow students and realized this is the first time her peers are witnessing Jasper Hale talk to someone who was outside his family. It was a stunning sight, and Liz couldn't really blame them as talking to Jasper was a bit surreal for her too. "Hopefully she is confronting your mind reading brother as we speak and I won't have to lie to her."
ย ย Jasper became slightly nervous for his brother, hoping he was able to keep control around the Swan girl, just like he was. Jasper was staring at Liz, admiring her natural beauty. He noticed Liz chose to wear no makeup today, which he was glad because she didn't need any of those stuff girls painted their faces with. She has always been beautiful, but for some reason, she was glowing a bit more than he has ever noticed. Maybe because it was his decision to stop ignoring her, maybe it was because she knew who he truly was and wasn't afraid of him. It could be many things but he knows he has never seen someone more beautiful than Elizabeth Chambers.
ย ย "Two humans knowing our secret, I can just hear Rose's screams now." He joked, earning a half smile from the female, which is more than he wanted. Seeing her smiling again was still a rare sight he hasn't seen in months and will take any he could get, especially since he was the cause behind them now instead of just admiring it from afar. "You still seem upset."
ย ย Liz hesitated, knowing that her depressed mood did not once falter and she slumped her shoulders. Talking to Jasper came so easily, like she wanted to tell him everything on her mind. That's when the feeling of security and trust came back. He really did make her feel safe.
ย ย "I am kind of upset," she admitted, crossing her arms over her chest and she looked down at the floor. "It's kind of my birthday today."
ย ย Jasper Hale is not known to smile, but a large one spread across his hard features at this news. "Happy birthday. That doesn't seem like something to be upset over."
ย ย "It is when your sister, future brother-in-law, and so called friends forget about it."
ย ย Jasper nodded in realization. "Oh."
ย ย "Yeah. Oh." Liz ran a hand through her bushy blonde curls before scoffing to herself. "Gosh, I sound so petty. After all the shit that has happened, all the lives lost in that accident, and all the shit I have to deal with medical wise, now the death of Waylon Forge and I'm sitting here upset because no one close to me remembers my birthday. That has to be a new level of selfish."
ย ย "You heard about Waylon Forge?"
ย ย "Yeah, Bella told me this morning when ambushing me. She doesn't think it was an animal attack," Liz tells him in a soft whisper, not wanting anyone around to hear her. Jasper didn't react or deny anything, just stared at the beautiful women before him intensely. Liz narrowed her eyes at him questionably. "Is she right?"
ย ย Jasper thought about lying to her, but something stopped him and found himself nodding. "Yes. She's right."
ย ย Liz tried to ignore the shutter that went down her spine. "Who- who are they?"
ย ย "We don't know. Nomads we think, but they could be a coven since there's more than just two according to Alice." He explains in a low tone, Liz noticing how close he leaned towards her so he could speak in a low tone and she would be able to hear him. Her breath hitch and she tried her best to ignore their proximity but was failing as she gazed into his eyes mesmerized. "Nomads are vampires who wander the world alone or with a single partner. There are three of them, and if they are a coven, then they are a new one. Carlisle thinks we might have to intervene soon if they keep being sloppy like they are, but he doesn't want to cause trouble with them. He's just hoping they will move on soon."
ย ย "Hopefully they do it without any more lives lost." Liz muttered, forcing herself to look away from him and control her racing heart, leaning her head back against the locker.
ย ย "So do we." Jasper states. "You're not selfish, Liz."
ย ย Liz frowned at him in confusion, resulting in the vampire to elaborate. "Being upset about your birthday. Celebrating being brought into this world is not something anyone should forget, especially someone as amazing as you."
ย ย Liz felt her face heat up and her eyes softened. The same flutter came to her heart and she couldn't help the smirk that purged on her light pink lips. "Why, Jasper Hale, if I didn't know any better, I'd say you were flirting with me."
ย ย "I'm just stating the facts, m'lady. If it's also considered flirting, then that's just an added bonus." He winks, causing the curly haired blonde to go as red as a tomato, thankful for her hair being able to fall in front of her face and field it only a little.
ย ย Before Liz could find words to respond, the bell ring and the two were forced to part ways. Liz gave Jasper a timid smile and grabbed her bag from the floor. "I'll see you in History?"
ย ย He only nodded and watched as she walked down the hall, leaving him to ponder what he should do for her birthday, knowing she can't go without at least one present. Everyone deserves at least one present on their birthday.

๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ the wall clock ticked away, time seemed to be caught in slow motion as Liz Chambers sits anxiously in the library during study hall, her semi long nails tapping repeatedly on the wooden table as she chewed on the end of her pencil out of nervous habit while watching the largest Cullen male grade her work.
ย ย Emmett was not messing around about Mr. Healy's quiz on Friday and how he planned on giving Liz a practice quiz that she can do that is slightly similar to the real deal until she at least got a B, which is what she needed to get on every quiz or test until her average grade came to a steady C before she was able to become a senior next year. Right now, she was at a F, which surprised Liz slightly only because she was used to getting D's. She liked D's, they were the better alternative and they made her feel slightly less embarrassed by herself.
ย ย After another minute, her patience was running low and she stopped chewing the end of her pencil to study Emmett's face, which remained emotionless throughout the entire thing. Once he sent his pen down, Liz straightened up. "Well?"
ย ย Emmett gave the blonde female a long look before holding up the paper with the number up top. "You got a 67."
ย ย Liz's head fell down towards her arms resting on the table, groaning in utter frustration. Emmett gave the girl a sympathetic look. "Hey, it's only a D. You are so close to a C and I know if you take this every day this week, you'll get a B on Friday."
ย ย "Your confidence in me is charming," Liz muttered, lifting her head back up and groaned again. "Maybe I should drop out of school. Like when am I going to have to solve to find the x anytime in my life? It's pointless."
ย ย "True, but dropping out of school is quitter talk and you and I both know that you are not a quitter."
ย ย Liz scrunched her face up at the word. "You're right. I hate that word. I'd rather swallow bleach then have people think I'm a quitter."
ย ย "That's very specific, but okay." Emmett stated in shock, but the two of them bursted out in fits of laughter, earning a displeased look from the librarian, which kind of only made the two laugh harder but quieter. Liz was so distracted by her laughter that she didn't notice a certain pixie vampire strutting in, her attention on the curly blonde female in the corner of the library.
ย ย "It's your birthday?" Her voice was loud, causing the two to stop their hysterical laughing and a couple heads turning towards them. Again, the librarian gave them a hard look and hushed them, which Alice apologized for and sat down in the chair next to Liz. "How couldn't you tell anyone it's your birthday?"
ย ย "Wait, it is? Why didn't you say anything?" Emmett basically repeated Alice's question in a more surprised tone.
ย ย Liz felt like a deer caught in headlights looking between the two in shock. She's slightly thankful Jasper was not here because she had the urge to punch him in the arm for telling his family, but then remembered she'd probably break her hand if she tried and was glad she had time to come to that conclusion and not do it without thinking, which is something most likely would've happened.
ย ย "It's not that big of a deal," Liz tried to brush off but neither Alice nor Emmett were having it.
ย ย "Not a big deal? Lizzie, it is definitely a big deal! It's your birthday, we have to celebrate." Alice said sternly, her voice serious and determined. Liz tried to ignore the fact that she just called her Lizzie, hardly anyone called her that but she didn't mind it all that much coming from the dark haired female.
ย ย "Oh, no, we really don't have to. It's just a stupid day."
ย ย "No, Alice's right. We have to do something." Emmett adds in, ignoring what she just said completely. He turned to his adoptive sister and smirked. "What do you have planned, little sis?"
ย ย Alice ignored the 'little sis' part seeing as she was older than Emmett but in their human ages, he was considered older since he was changed at eighteen and Alice was seventeen. "Come on, we are going to ditch the day and have some fun."
ย ย Liz's eyes widened in absolute shock, staring at the Cullen female as if she had four heads. "What?! We can't do that!"
ย ย "Oh come on, you're telling me you want to sit listening to boring lectures when we could be doing something fun on your birthday instead?"
ย ย Liz stared at Alice, her mouth slightly ajar as she tried to come up with an excuse, but knew she had her there. Going to classes was the last thing she wanted to do and her offer sounded very appealing, since she hasn't ditched school in a very long time. Maybe because she already missed a lot of it after the accident.
ย ย Noticing she was debating, Emmett started to like this idea more and more, staring down at the blonde with his never fading grin. "Come on, speed racer. I'm in the mood to cause some mischief and I've been dying for a partner in crime."
ย ย Liz couldn't help but chuckle, shaking her head slightly but couldn't stop the smile that spread on her lips. She might regret this later but right now, she felt the need to let loose a little. Causing a little mischief does sound like fun. "Alright, lets go."
ย ย Alice squealed happily and Emmett clapped his hands together, the three getting up and gathering their stuff. They left the library without any problems, and made their way towards the parking lot, heading towards the silver Jeep where she noticed certain golden haired vampire leaning against and another blonde standing with him, a deep scowl on her face and her hands tucked into her vest jacket, looking like she was arguing with her 'twin' brother before hearing the others approach. Liz has to remember to ask Jasper more about how they make their family work and if he and Rosalie really are twins.
ย ย Once they reached them, Liz cocked her head to the side and smirked. "Was this your idea?"
ย ย "No."
ย ย "But you did tell them about my birthday?"
ย ย "Yes." He only shrugged, showing no remorse. "No one should celebrate their birthday alone."
ย ย Liz couldn't help but grin, allowing the blonde to open the back of the Jeep for her to enter. Without another word, Liz got into the vehicle, the other's following in suit Jasper driving, Rosalie in the passenger seat still sulking annoyingly, while Emmett and Alice joined the blonde in the back, Liz squeezed between the two vampires. Suddenly, her nerves got the best of her as she realized she doesn't know where they were going or how far they were going.
ย ย "Wait, we aren't leaving town are we?"
ย ย Jasper looked at Liz through the revealed mirror, their eyes locking and Jasper gave her a reassuring smile. "Don't worry, we aren't going far."
ย ย Something in Liz knew that Jasper was slightly aware of her problem with being in a vehicle, seeing how cautious he was driving her to and from the Cullen residence yesterday, and relaxed in the backseat. This is going to be interesting.

Idk where all these updates are coming from but I'm just happy they are coming out!
This chapter is a bit slow, non eventful which will be like this for the next couple of chapters before James, Victoria and Laurent come into the picture. Also, I'm trying to follow the timeline exactly and the baseball scene doesn't happen until March so I need to add some things that are not in the movie surrounding Bella and Edward because this is not their story, this is Liz and Jasper's story.
Also, it's Liz's birthday! She is seventeen, not eighteen in cause anyone is confused. She is a junior and she will be eighteen next year. She and Bella may be in the same year but Bella is older than Liz by four months, Bella being born in 1987 and Liz was born in 1988.
How dare Ester and her friends forget Liz's birthday? Like rude. Poor girl has been through so much and they forget her birthday? Not nice lol. Had to be done though for the cute chapter that so able to come.
