CHAPTER TWENTY-SEVEN
A GOOD MOOD

CARLISLE stood next to Esme, thinking of what to say to Thea, who was tapping on her foot. She seemed as if she was ready for them to give her a lecture so that she could leave. "Go ahead...scold me."

Carlisle sighs, "I'm not going to scold you. Thea, you know we can't do this...we cannot kill humans, especially in Forks."

Esme nods in agreement, her hand on his shoulder, "We understand your frustration but killing a human just because you're upset is not who you are."

Thea mustered up a breathy chuckle as a grin spread to her lips.

"What is so amusing?"

"That's not who you are." Thea repeats Esme's words, "Do I need to remind you of the things I've done?" She was almost seething.

"And how did that make you feel afterward?" Esme raises a brow in concern, hoping Thea will get the message. "Because killing them didn't do you any good, Thea. Killing Bella wouldn't do you any good."

"But it would!" Thea exclaims, a groan following afterward, "That girl is the problem and Edward is letting her think this is all daisies and giggles. We can all be killed because of this!" Thea blinks, her fingers tightening around the armrest of the chair.

Thea scoffs, standing up and leaving because she knows that no matter what she says, nothing will change.

"Thea," Esme calls her.

Thea stops at the door, glancing her way.

"We love you." She conveyed.

Thea's eyes couldn't help but soften, "...I love you."

Days had passed since Carlisle and Esme spoke to Thea about her actions. The has been avoiding talking to not only them but with Edward as well.

Thea spent her days with her mate, who she was now sitting next to, both of them leaning against a bookshelf.

Alice had her eyes examining Thea's side profile.

Thea looks over to Alice, who immediately snaps her eyes back to her book as if she was reading.

Thea frowns, "Alice, what's wrong?"

Alice looks up, a tight smile plastered across her face, "hm? Oh, nothing."

Thea blinks, "Alice."

"Yeah?"

"What's wrong?"

"I..." Alice gets quiet. "I don't want to ruin your mood."

Thea smiles, "You could never ruin my mood."

Alice smiles and she would've blushed if she had blood rushing through her face. "It involves someone else that hasn't had you in the best mood...at all."

Thea squints, "the human?"

She nods, "I had a vision about her," Alice confesses.

"I figured when Edward showed up in the woods," Thea shuts her book.

"Yeah, but it wasn't that." Alice shakes her head.

Alice turns towards her mate, "We became good friends," happiness appears across her face, "really great friends."

Her brows raise, "okay..." she gets quiet.

Alice bites her lips, "okay? so you're not mad?"

"I can't be mad at that." Thea sighs, "No matter how much I hate the human, I cannot force you to hate her as well."

Alice nods slightly, her eyes softening, "you know that I understand where you're coming from, right?"

Thea only looked up at her and said nothing, but her eyes spoke instead.

There was a quirk on Alice's lip, "Edward has been waiting for someone for a long time and now she's finally here and they love each other. I think it's beautiful."

"It's dangerous." Thea was quick to reply, her eyes turning back to her book.

"You're right. But aren't we all willing to do dangerous things when we're in love? Willing to cross any line?" Alice questions.

Thea was quiet. Alice was right, Thea would cross any line for love, "but this is risking all of us, Alice. And now the two are out in the open."

"Nothing has gone wrong," Alice exclaims optimistically.

Thea grinned but she wanted to snarl. "Let's hope it stays that way."

Everyone knew that Thea McCarty could be a very frustrating person. She'd do things that would have someone wanting to scream while ripping out their hair.

Thea was thinking that maybe now was one of those moments.

School had just ended and Thea was out hunting, or she was supposed to be. But her mind was on the situation.

Was she doing too much?

Was this whole complaining nonstop, ignoring her own family and even trying to kill Bella a bit much?

Yes, Thea didn't like Bella. Yes, Thea still believed it was dangerous for her and Edward to be together.

But Thea almost killed her.

Thea was so overtaken by rage at the time, that she didn't even think of the consequences.

Thea knew she was capable of taking a life but she wasn't thinking of the after-effects it had.

It took her forever to forgive herself for taking the life of her own family, she hated her mother with a burning passion but it didn't stop regret and guilt from rising in Thea.

If Thea had killed Bella, it probably would've had very similar effects.

Maybe Thea should apologize to the human.

The sun was covered by rainy clouds, the dirt was damp and the leaves were dripping with rain. Thea could smell the earth and she enjoyed its natural elements.

Maybe Thea was a weirdo for sitting in the rain but it was a feeling she couldn't beat. She sat upon a sturdy tree branch, listening to the small rumbles of thunder.

"I knew I would find you out here." Alice's voice breaks the rumbling thunder.

Thea looked over at her as she sat down beside her.

The long-haired brunette smiled, "Just...thinking. What brings you out here?"

Alice took a second before she responded, "I know that you've been...having a hard time lately and...this may sound a little corny—"

Thea raised a brow, now 10x more intrigued, "I'm sure I'll like whatever it is."

"There's this fair, tomorrow afternoon in Port Angelas and I don't know..." Alice sighs, "I've never been to one and you've never been to one so I just thought..."

"Yes." Thea doesn't think twice.

Alice frowns, "I haven't even asked you yet."

Thea shrugs, "doesn't matter." She simply responds, making them both burst into a fit of laughter.

The next day in school seemed slower than usual. Thea was excited to go to the fair with Alice.

She was surprisingly in a good mood.

She tried her best to ignore Edward, who was doing everything in his power to keep Bella as far away from her as possible.

She wasn't going to allow them to ruin her day.

Not today.

Thea felt a smile spread to her face when she heard the school bell ring. She was the first to the car, Emmett and Rosalie came out after.

"What took you so long?" Thea frowns, pulling in the door handle of the Jeep, "Come on."

Emmett frowns, "Why are you in such a hurry to get home?"

Thea rolls her eyes, "Alice and I are going to the fair and I need to get home and change, come on."

Rosalie was quiet, weirdly quiet. Usually, she'd be teasing Thea about such things but instead, she was glaring at the ground.

Emmett looks over the his mate, placing his hand on her back. He looks back up to Thea with a faint smile, "Let's go then."

Thea doesn't fail to notice both of their off behaviors.

What is up with them?

     ragerwrites,           Y'all watching the Eclipse?

Also! I was going to make this one huge chapter but I decided to split it. So, that being said, what do you think is up with Rosalie and Emmett?
