𝔵𝔵𝔦𝔳. Focus On You

CHAPTER TWENTY-FOUR
FOCUS ON YOU

THEA should be at the library with her wife at the current moment but instead, she was standing in the back of a hospital sending Edward some of the deadliest glares. "Are you an idiot?" Thea frowns, genuinely concerned. She looked to Rosalie, who also seemed very upset, "I believe he's an idiot."

Carlisle seemed to be trying to find a way to gather his thoughts. He'd just examined Bella and she had no harm done to her but she'd seen Edward do something unexplainable. Something no human is capable of.

"Fifteen kids could've seen what happened." Rosalie snarls.

Edward sighs, "What was I supposed to do? Let her die?"

"This isn't just about you. It's about all of us." Rosalie comments.

"Edward she saw you. You put all of our lives at risk for a human...and on top of that, you don't even know her!" Thea sighs. She crosses her arms, "if the Volturi finds out—" Thea couldn't even imagine what they'd do to her family...to Alice.

"I think we should take this to my office." Carlisle interrupts, his eyes laid on a human girl peeking around the corner.

Thea was truly angry at Edward right now. She hated that Edward was willing to risk the life of the family for a human.

At that moment, Thea also came to another conclusion.

She hated Isabella fucking Swan.

"We should leave." Thea barges into Carlisle's office after hours of being home.

Carlisle blinked, "what?"

"Let's leave Forks. All of us. Find some new town or go to Alaska with The Denali's! Anywhere but here." Thea rambled.

Carlisle frowns, "Why do you want to leave?"

"That human!" Thea snaps, she was pacing back and forth in front of him. Thea truly seemed panicked. "Edward risked all of us! If we just leave now, Isabella won't figure out anything. But if we stay, we're just risking ourselves and her even further."

"I believe Bella is Edward's blood singer, that's why he was having troubles."

"That's not what I'm talking about." Thea huffs, "I'm talking about the accident but since you mention that too, it's even more of a reason we should leave." She shrugs.

Carlisle puts his hands out, stopping Thea in her place. "Don't worry." He spoke softly, "Everything will be fine. Bella doesn't know what we are."

"She's a nosy girl, Carlisle, you saw her," Thea replied in a very irritated tone. "She's not going to let it go. She'll just keep digging and digging." Thea snatched away from his hold and slammed the door when leaving.

"Thea, you're glaring." Alice happened to say when they were walking to the buses for their biology field trip.

"I'm not glaring."

She was glaring.

Jasper grins, "The human is quite...frustrating."

Thea scoffs, "Tell me about it." She looks over to Edward, "You need to stay away from her."

"I will." Edward sighs, "I just need to..."

Thea frowns when he goes quiet. Her eyes follow his and soon land on Isabella Swan. Thea glares at them both, "Sure you will." She mumbles as Alice pulls her onto the bus and Jasper sends calming waves her way.

Thea and Alice sit towards the back and Thea can't help but glance at Edward now and then. She just wanted to smack some sense into him, tell him that the human wasn't worth it.

Alice pokes at Thea's leg, causing the upset vampire to turn towards her. "Yes?"

"I don't like seeing you upset." Alice was quick to admit, "Why don't we listen to some music?" Alice pulls out her phone and earbuds from her pocket.

Thea sighs as she takes one of the earplugs, "...what if she—"

"Shhh." Alice quiets her in the softest tone, "I'm sorry but you need to get your mind off of her and focus on you."

Thea couldn't help but smile at the pixie, "Fine."

For the rest of the ride, Alice and Thea listened to The Smiths. And Thea tried her best to forget about her thoughts and relax with her mate, even if the moment did last for all of thirty minutes.

Alice laid her head on Thea's shoulder and Thea lays her head on top of hers.

For the remainder of the trip, Alice made sure to keep Thea occupied. Alice rambled about different flowers because she knew Thea loved to hear her obsess over things that she loved. They even listened to more music and laughed throughout the trip.

And not once did Thea even think of Edward and Bella Swan.

Well...until now.

The trip was ending and everyone was beginning to load up the buses. "Why is he walking towards her?" Thea clenched her fist.

"Thea," Alice spoke worryingly, pulling her back and holding onto her arm tighter.

Jasper helped as well, using his abilities to calm Thea down. But Thea ran off of emotions, she'd always have. So it was a little more difficult to control her than it was anyone else's.

"Bella, we shouldn't be friends." These were the first words that left Edward's mouth as they reached the buses.

Bella was taken off guard but said, "You really should've figured that out a little earlier. I mean—why didn't you just let the van crush me and save yourself all this regret?"

Thea didn't even realize she was eavesdropping on their conversation until the word "Exactly." left her mouth as she smiled in agreement with the human.

"You think I regret saving you?"

"I can see that you do...I just don't know why." Bella looked up at him with a curious gaze.

"You don't know anything," Edward mutters to her.

Thea realized they were inching closer to Bella and Edward.

Thea stays back to make sure Jasper stays in control of his thirst. Her hand laid on his shoulder in a comforting manner.

Alice, being the sweetheart she is, smiled wide at Bella. "Hi! Are you going to be riding with us?"

Edward answers for Bella, "No, our bus is full." He turns back to the bus and gets in.

Thea felt weight lift from her shoulders. At least Edward was choosing to stay away from her.

Thea spares Bella a small glance as she follows Alice onto the bus.

Edward was making the right decision after all.

ragerwrites,           Alice is such a sweetheart, I love her so much and I believe she's so good for Thea.
