Today is India's 78th Independence Day. It has been 78 years since we got independence. God knows how many heroes sacrificed their lives for our independence and only then we are able to live peacefully today. But one question still remains, are we really free?

As you all must have heard how a doctor was brutally murdered in West Bengal. She was raped so brutally that our soul shivers just thinking about it.Those doctors who save our lives, who are like God to us, are treated so badly?

The importance given to women in this Indian civilization which has been going on since ancient times was not found in any other civilization in the world. In our culture, women are the form of goddess and they have been worshipped in this Indian society for centuries. But what happened now?

Where has that culture of our India gone? Why are we forgetting our roots?

Today everyone in the country is celebrating Independence Day but I am not.

In West Bengal a doctor is raped and there is no trace of the culprits, in UP a 12 year old girl is raped. In Pune two innocent people are murdered due to drunk driving and there is no trace of justice, Pandits are driven out of Kashmir and threatened to kidnap their sisters, a girl's body is cut into pieces and who knows what else.

But we say we are independent.

Think carefully, Are we really independent?
