Lightkit scrunched up her eyes.The sun was shining bright.Lightkit scrambled down the rock she was sitting on and looked for her denmates."Pinekit!Darkkit! Where have you been?" she squeaked. "With Shimmerpaw and Deerpaw," Pinekit answered. " Well, that doesn't matter now!" Darkkit said while he dropped something on the dirty camp floor."They found new berries and said we could be the first ones to try it!" He went on with a excited, shrill voice.Lightkit stared at it in awe."It looks weird,but I'm sure it will taste good," Lightkit replied with and excited bounce. Pinekit divided the "berries" up and they all took a bite in unison.Immediately they spat it out. "It tastes like fox dung!" Darkkit spat. Lightkit nodded in agreement. "I bet it was Deerpaw and Shimmerpaw set it up!" she squeaked.Pinekit bristled. I'll bet a moon of no milk that they set it up! As the three bounced towards the apprentices' den a brown tom with white patches blocked their path. "And where are you going?" the tom asked. "Deerpaw and Shimmerpaw fed us droppings!" Pinekit announced."Well, I guess Moonstar will just have to hear about it," the tom replied.The three kits sounded satisfied and went with the tom."Moonstar?"
"Come in Grassnose" Moonstar acknowledged his deputy.
Moonstar had a amused look on his face.
"Moonstar!Deerpaw and Shimmerpaw fed us droppings!"Lightkit blurted out.
"Oh" Moonstar whiskers quivered while he tried not to laugh.
"So I'll have to give them three moons of border patrols?" He asked.
"Yes!" Darkkit replied and flexed his claws.
With a amused look Grassnose shooed Darkkit, Lightkit and Pinekit out of the den. "Moonstar has  a cold, he'll talk to the apprentices later," he scolded with a soft glint in his eyes.
