THEA WAS WALKING THROUGH THE crowded halls of West Valley High School, her notebook tightly clutched in her arms. She felt the intrusive stares of the students and the way their eyes trailed her body intently. Feeling nervous, Thea let a strand of hair fall over her face slightly, avoiding eye contact from the other students .
She found her locker along the way and grabbed out the wrinkled sticky note that had droplets of syrup when Tony, her older (yet more immature) brother flicked his waffle at her.
Cringing at the tacky texture, Thea rubbed her hands on her pants and then put in her locker combination carefully to open her locker.Β
Once she finally got it open, the locker looked dusty, the colors of the steel material slowly starting to fade. Thea unzipped her backpack and put her binder in the locker, her notebook still secured in her arms.
But just as she was about to put her notebook in her locker, Thea felt the force of someone pushing down her arm, the notebook slamming loudly on the concrete.
Thea looked up, her anger starting to rise when she saw the one and only, Cobra Kai's. Dutch was the one to throw down her notebook and he laughed maniacally as he walked off to his class with laughter.
The other Cobra's followed Dutch, but when Thea was about to pick up the notebook that was on the floor, she felt her hand brush against someone else's. Looking up, Thea was met with the familiar blue eyes of Johnny Lawrence.
Johnny picked up the book slowly, his eyes not leaving hers as they both stood up from the ground. With not a word being said, Johnny walked closer to Thea, her having no choice but to back up into the lockers.
Their bodies were inches apart and Thea's heartbeat was starting to beat incessantly. Johnny gave her the notebook, leaving nothing but a straight look on his face that Thea wishes she could decipher.
He walked away from the girl, leaving a confused Thea on the locker wall and she glared at his back, not knowing what that was about.
"Weirdo," Thea muttered quietly to herself. She turned around and continued to personalize her locker and she was having a good time, listening to her Walkman. But when she felt the sudden feeling of someone tapping on her shoulder, Thea was met with the eyes of Ali.
"Oh, hi Ali, What's up?" Thea took the headphones away from her ears and gave Ali her full attention.
"Just wanted to make sure you had someone with you on your first day of school. I also wanted to apologize on that night at the beach too." Thea's face dropped slightly, not particularly fond of that memory, but continued with the conversation anyway. She closed her locker shut and the two girls walked their way to their classes.
"There's nothing to apologize about Ali, it wasn't your fault, it was Johnny's."
"Yeah, I wanted to talk to you about him too, actually. You seemed to tame him pretty well and nobody could do that, not even me when we used to date."
"Yeah, well I suppose that if you know someone for half of your life, your patience will start to slowly burn into a thin line," Thea said to Ali. The blonde girl put two and two together and her eyes widened with realization.
"Did you and Johnny used to dateβ"
"Oh no, not at all, and that will never happen. Johnny and I used to be the best of friends when we were younger. We knew each other just like the back of our hands and we were inseparable. But one day, out of nowhere, he started to become this bully to me and when I left to go live in Boston, he didn't even say goodbye."
Ali listened to Thea closely and nodded her head in an understanding manner. Thea and Johnny had a past which was why the girl effortlessly stood up to King Karate.
"I guess I should start a Johnny Lawrence hate club for you, huh?" Ali said in a playful tone. Thea nodded her head jokingly, a smile creeping up on her face.
"Please do, I'll definitely join that club."

Throughout the day, Thea had enough luck to not run into Johnny and she thought that her school life wouldn't consist of her ex-friend, but she spoke too soon when her last class was greeted with a familiar blonde.
Thea walked into the class and asked her teacher for her assigned seat and when she found her chair number, she sat down in it, loving the silence surrounding her. But that silence was interrupted when she felt someone put their feet roughly on the back of her chair, causing the girl to turn around.Β
"Hey Teddy, there's that ugly face I always hate to see every day," Johnny said in a playful yet rude tone. Thea stared in disbelief at the boy and took in a deep breath, hoping to calm herself instead of pouncing on the boy.
"Are you sure you're not talking about yourself? Here, let me take out my compact so you can see for yourself," Thea sarcastically said with the fakest smile she could muster up.
Just as Thea was about to reach into her backpack for her mirror, she felt Johnny's large hand wrap around her wrist tightly and she whipped her head up at the boy, shooting daggers at him.
"Don't get smart with me, Teddy or there's going to be consequences." Thea scoffed, ripping her wrist out of his grip and watched as Johnny's face slowly turned into an unscrupulous smirk.
Thea had only been in this class for five minutes, and she couldn't handle the presence of Johnny. And worst of all, he sat behind her so he had to advantage of doing mischievous things behind her back. Literally.
"Mr. Bernard, can I please switch seats?" Thea said out of nowhere. Luckily, the class didn't start yet, so kids were talking, overlapping this conversation.
"Why what is the problem?" Mr. Bernard was known for being the teacher that didn't care about anything. His class was easy, almost too easy for Thea's own good.Β
"I can't see from here," Thea lied and she heard Johnny scoff sarcastically and she rolled her eyes at him, not turning her head.
"No, that's your seat for the rest of the year. Get glasses or something," Mr. Bernard said in a monotone, not even looking up from his clipboard. Thea's mouth dropped from disbelief and she heard Johnny laughing wildly behind her.Β
Sighing in defeat, Thea leaned her back behind on the chair, forgetting for a second who was behind her, so when she felt hands on her shoulders, she flinched.
"I guess you're stuck with me for the entire year, princess. Get ready."
Thea's eyes flared with anger. There was no way she was going to let him have the last word so she said the words that were on the top of her mind.
"No, you're stuck with me, so you better be prepared for this bumpy ride, asshole."
That instantly shut Johnny up and when Thea didn't hear his pestering voice, she smirked softly to herself in victory.
No one ever spoke to him like that without getting a beating from King Karate himself. But for some reason, Thea was an exception to him. His fists were clenching and unclenching, his fingernails slowly starting to show red in his palm.
Johnny was pissed at the tone Thea was using with him, but at the same time, he liked it too.
AHH I'M SO SORRY THIS CHAPTER IS SO SHORT.
I'm lowkey thinking of making a robby book based on the west side story plot. should i write it?? idk this may be an impulse decision ahahah
