"SEVERUS COULD I HAVE YOUR BACON?" Severus stared down his sister, she had already had like fifteen strips. Both of them had stayed at the Leaky Cauldron for two nights and one day, they were now sitting down in their uniforms eating breakfast. "Just one, please!" Severus sighed and moved his plate forward and watched the girl grab two instead and smirk.
"Why you, little-" Ophelia raises an eyebrow to which he shuts up, "well maybe I should tell you, Eli, Lucius has asked me to sit with him and his friends, hope that's okay." Of course she knew why, they were becoming of age, and when a Slytherin becomes of age, they get told to take the dark mark, and Malfoy was trying to get closer to her brother and change him for the worst.
"Oh, so it's Lucius, now?" She playfully questions, but inside she was seething, she was protective of him, and she didn't want him to fall down the same hill as many Slytherin's do. Severus rolled his eyes at her and took the plates back to the woman before grabbing his case, thanking for their stay here.
The twins walked away, and strode to the train station, where there was many families saying goodbyes to their kids. Severus grabbed his sisters hand and led her through the crowd to the back of the train, she soon noticed Malfoy, the blacks and the Lestrange's were all here, and their eyes were strained on them. Ophelia rolls her eyes and doesn't even get a goodbye from her own brother, she started to walk away until an annoying voice that belonged to a certain blonde called out to her.
"Not staying, Ophelia?" She turns around and meets all of their eyes, she shrugs her shoulders and simply frowned, "I have something to do and I'd rather not waste my time talking with you, Malfoy." She glares, sauntering off, finding a compartment and sat her case up top and took a seat in the corner, with her purple blanket wrapped around her, reading her most favourite novel Little Woman.
The train had started and some people were seated, but not even twenty minutes later, the door opened and she glanced noticing the marauders and Lily Evans. "Hello! Can we sit in here? The compartments are all full and-" the redhead froze staring at her, and so were her brother's tormentors. She gave them a bored look and went back to reading, "do you guys think that means yes?" Black had asked, Lily Evans had rolled her eyes and put her cases up next to the Slytherin's, sitting across from the girl. The four boys did the same, but Potter was next to Lily as well as Black who was next to him, and then next to her was Lupin and on his other side was Pettigrew.
The tension in the air was awkward, all the laughter they had earlier had now died down, each and everyone of them glancing at the girl, who always had a frown on her face, and could tell she was not bothered with them whatsoever, as she was reading a book. Remus Lupin had silently glanced at the book, and smiled to himself, Little Woman; interesting choice.
Her eyes were so heavy and the dark circles under her eyes were not helping. She was planning on resting, but she didn't want to let her guard down against them. She was the only Slytherin that was wedged between five Gryffindor's who would have the upper hand. She heard Black suddenly laugh and start a conversation, probably after studying her, she no longer felt eyes on her, but still she was extremely tired and just wanted to be alone. Though she never thought she'd admit, it felt comforting to have others than just yourself. It was as if she could feel their emotions, they were all happy and excited, and the vibe was just warm, something she's never felt before, she's always felt cold.
"Oi Snape, why aren't you with your slimy friends?" Black's voice asked her, causing everyone to glance at the girl who pretended he wasn't there, continuing with her book and trying to keep her eyes open.
"You just got the silent treatment, Pads." Peter laughs, but Sirius being the stubborn bastard he was wouldn't take no for an answer. He glares at the girl, "oi, don't ignore me. Tell us why you're not with them." The girl sighed, this boy was irritating her, she looks up from her book and stared him down, she didn't care if she looked physically or mentally tired anymore. She was so sick of everyone treating Slytherin's so different because not all of them were bad.
"Because Black, I'm not a person who treats everyone like shit all because of blood." She said confidently, "and I'll never become one, not all snakes are bad y'know." She said turning back to her book, she ignored his scoffs of disbelief and looked up when Lily asked a question about her brother.
"Severus, is he - is he a death eater?" The redhead asks while Ophelia looked upset, but then again, she had no idea. He wouldn't leave her, for some dark lord, or for his new friends, would he? "Of course not, he's my brother..and he would never leave me." She said looking confused.
"Then where is he?" Potter asks, "because I sure don't see him." Ophelia looked up irritatedly at him and glanced at Lily who looked unsure. "He's with his friends and we don't hang around with the same people, Sev likes his friends, and I like being alone."
The conversation had gone to something else and Ophelia put down her books and pushed up her blanket, showing off her tattoo's. She had one on her right wrist down to her hand and her left hand just had a huge rose on the back of the hand. She also had one on her upper left arm, it was wrapped around like a chain, and had more on her right thigh, down to her leg, and had more on her chest. The roses represented her beauty and the thorns represented her sadness. Roses were either loved or not, the flower itself was misunderstood, just like she was, she jumped slightly at Peter's voice.
"Woah! You have tattoo's!" She glanced at the small boy and looked down at her hands, and shrugged. Everyone was now invested on the tattoo's and began asking the meaning behind them. So she told them, Remus, Lily and James seemed to frown when she said they represented herself, both beauty and sadness.
Maybe this train ride won't be as bad as she thought it would be, they were nice to her and she was nice to them, so they all were being civil. But she knew as soon as they get to Hogwarts, they were all going to part ways and not speak to each other again, I guess it was nice while it lasted.
