━︎━︎━︎━︎𝐀𝐏𝐇𝐑𝐎𝐃𝐈𝐓𝐄 𝐋𝐄𝐓 𝐎𝐔𝐓 a groan, slowly blinking her eyes as she looked around at the hospital she was currently in. Her stomach was killing her, and her neck felt like something was clamped around it, even though she had already placed a hand up to her neck to make sure there wasn't. In came a woman, one that Aphrodite somewhat recognized. She cocked her head slightly, furrowing her eyebrows.
"Aphrodite, how are you feeling?" The woman asked.
"Where's my daughter?" Aphrodite muttered.
"We do not know." Evangeline answered.
"Then why are you here?" Aphrodite growled, turning her head away from the woman to look up at the ceiling.
"Well, first, I'd like to know that you're alright."
"I'm fine."
"Second," Evangeline walked over to the bed, grabbing Aphrodite's attention once more, "I'd like to offer you something. You see, the world needs people like you. Mutants that are strong and can fight for what they believe in." Aphrodite slowly sat up, making sure not to pop the stitches that she knew were there. She watched as the woman's left arm changed into red with black long nails, part of her face showing to reveal what looked like a dragon. Aphrodite's mouth parted slightly as she cocked her head to the side. The woman changed back.
"It's a better world. You can make it better. But, only if you want."
"Will I be able to find my daughter?" Aphrodite asked.
"You can do whatever you please, Mrs. Rosenburgh." Evangeline assured her. "But, I'm sure the others will want to help you."
"Others?" Aphrodite quizzed, cocking her head slightly.
"Yes, others. They're already finding other mutants that need help. I just need to know if you want to join them."
Aphrodite bit her lip, thinking it over. This could be her chance. She looked up at Evangeline, nodding her head. "Tell me more." Evangeline smiled before doing as the woman asked of her. Explaining that the X-Men were gone, and that they left something behind for mutants like her. A safe place.
"You have extraordinary powers, Aphrodite. You are a very powerful being." Evangeline complimented, smiling gently at the girl. She placed a hand on the woman's shoulder. "We will find your daughter, I promise." Evangeline stood up, turning to look at Aphrodite. "Is there anything specific you would like from your home?"
"Well, my clothes of course. A picture of my husband and daughter. . . a few of those actually. And, uh. . . my guitar. Artemis loved it when I played and sang." Evangeline smiled at this, before nodding her head.
"Well, as soon as you are released from here, we'll take you to the place. In the meantime, I will get your stuff. Just get some rest, Aphrodite." Evangeline told her.
"Call me Winter, please." Aphrodite requested. Evangeline looked at her for a moment before nodding her head and turning on her heel, walking out of the hospital room.

━︎━︎━︎━︎𝐒𝐇𝐄 𝐖𝐀𝐒𝐍'𝐓 𝐑𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐄𝐃 for another day, and when she finally was, the pain in her abdomen was much more bearable than it had been twenty-four hours prior. Evangeline had brought a car for Aphrodite, her stuff placed in the backseat which was only a box and her guitar case. Aphrodite sat in the passenger's seat whilst Evangeline drove towards the place that these other mutants would be.
"So. . . where exactly is this place located?"
"Not too far." Evangeline explained. "Atlanta. Most of the time, the mutants are smuggled over the border of Mexico, seeing as it is a nationwide organization. But the one where the others I'd like you to meet, is in Atlanta." Aphrodite just nodded her head and stayed quiet for the rest of the ride. She felt herself start to shut down, closing herself off from the rest of the world as she thought about her daughter and how she had harshly been ripped from Aphrodite's grasp. Her mind wandered over to her husband and the bullet hole that now lied between his eyes. Her heart broke for him. Damien was the love of her life, they met when Aphrodite was fifteen and Damien was sixteen. He was a good guy, one of the very few that roamed the planet. Aphrodite had been lucky, and now that luck and the love of her life had been ripped from her gasp. She absentmindedly twisted her wedding ring on her finger, tears glossing over her eyes, but she refused to let them fall. She hadn't even realized the hours that had flew by until the car parked and Evangeline spoke.
"Here we are." Evangeline spoke, smiling. Aphrodite blinked the tears away, turning her head and looking up at the old looking building. She frowned, cocking her head to the side as she watched Evangeline exit the car. Aphrodite unbuckled before exiting the car as well. Evangeline looked at the woman. "I'll come out and get your stuff, let's introduce you first." Evangeline walked towards the building and Aphrodite watched her enter before letting out a sigh and following the woman inside.
