# CHAPTER 1

The heavy rain emitted fog, making it more complicated to seek out any sights of a library. It was unpleasant for the [ h/c ] individual, yet they still walked through the foggy disarray.
Their entire being was drenched by the rain, making it colder than ever. βThis is truly annoying, did it have to rain today?β
They whined aloud, a headache forming rapidly. The rain if not harder before, started picking up even more. βI seriously need to get there quick.β
Picking up their pace, they finally reached the front of the library. Well not quite literally.
They were at the other side of the round, just a couple more steps across the road to get to their designated location.
Looking to the side, they see a traffic light, pressing a button.
The cars stopped, as the movement of the red character turns to green. Into a walking motion.
[ name ] walks swiftly, the light from the car's guiding them. Finally crossing the road, they quickly walk up the stairs to the library and enter.

Your body quickly became warm, due to the AC being turned off for the people that came here for shelter.
βThank the gods.β You suddenly thought, before gasping, as you heard a chuckle ring in your head.
βFinally decided to talk at least once in your head, doll?β You ignore how charming he sounded, staying quiet.
βLook, I know you aren't comfortable with talking right now. I understand. I'll wait, alright? See you soon, soulmate.β
Your face flushes pink, and your body becomes warmer than you necessarily needed it to be.
βWow OK, he's a charmer. Surprisingly shocking.β You spoke in a low tone, calming down. Since you weren't fully dried, you opted to stay at the front.
Not many people were in the place, only a few that had the same situation as you, and some others that were reading. It wasn't crowded or busy and you were glad.
After a while, the rain soon stopped instead, making it less difficult for you. The only difficult thing was, that your house was far. Very, far.
You took about 30 minutes to get to this library from university, and the walk home from university was also 30 more minutes. Which meant, it'll take a full hour walk to get back home.
You would've called an Uber but, your phone was dead. Due to you spending most of your time on it. Sighing, you rubbed the tiredness away from your eyes.
βLuck is definitely, not on my side today. What am I even talking about, it never is.β Grumbling lowly, you walk out, the moonlit night being the only light that guided you through the night.
Cars were still passing here and there, though not constantly. 2-3 cars every 5-10 minutes. Your stomach growled embarrassingly, though you didn't bother since no one was around.
βMaybe I should go to 7-11. That'll keep me from starving through this horrible night.β Walking endlessly for 10 minutes or more, you finally found a 7-11, with two other people inside.
βI'll get in and get out. Because I am seriously about to pass out.β Walking in, the bell rang, and you cringed at the loud ring. The cashier at the front greeted you with a tired smile, and you did the same with an equally tired smile.
Going to the snacks aisle, you find two men talking to each other, around your age. You didn't bother with them, taking the [ f/s ] that was beside them. Before walking away, though suddenly, a hard grip was keeping you still.
βHey beautiful, where you going? I remember that women should great men you know?β One of them slurred, obviously drunk. βWell count me out, because I'm not one. Now, will you please, excuse ββ
In a quick flash, you were pushed harshly, your back hitting a see-through fridge that kept all the drinks inside it. βSo what? You're apart of the LGBT? I've never met one. Heh, doesn't matter. You still look feminine to me. And every woman deserves to get punished, yeah?β
The other one also spoke, approaching you two and kneeling in front of you. Gripping your jaw and lifting it to look at him, his breath hitting your face. You tried to cover up your gag with a cough, mustering up a few words.
βYeah well, at least my breath doesn't smell like booze, you fool.β Quickly kneeing his crotch, he groans loudly, holding it. His friend instantly came to his aid. You got up, running away from the scene without the snack. Guess you'll just have to walk back hungry. Better than risking your life.
The cashier stares, as you run out for dear life, a confused look on the poor woman's face. βGoodnight, I guess.β She says.

Due to all that running, you realized you reach home, falling to your knees on the front porch. You breathed heavily, tears stinging your eyes as you processed what just happened.
If you didn't save yourself there, you would've been in grave danger. Letting out a sob, you tried to wipe the endless tears that fell, feeling disgusted. After a few, you realized that your back was throbbing from how hard they pushed you.
βI should get in now.β Shakingly getting up, you walked up to the door, fetching the key out of your pocket and fumbling with it, before unlocking the door. βI'm home.β You practically said to one.
ββββββββββββ
[ name ]'s house was simple, though aesthetic with the colors that they favored, and white furniture. Locking the door behind them, they place it into the bowl that was on a vanity, before taking off their shoes.
Placing them on the shoe rack, they walk sluggishly walking to the stairs. The whole house was dark, the light from the moon being the only light in the house. After managing to reach the top of the stairs, they walk to their room. Not before halting their steps, staring out the window.
They did this every night. Before entering their room they stared out the window, watching the moon shine bright but not so bright that it hurts their eyesight. Every time they did so, they always thought of what would happen the next day.
One of them is along the lines of, βWhen will I meet my soulmate?β
Everyone indeed has a soulmate. Though, it wasn't necessary to meet them. Some don't even meet their soulmate until they grow old. Some don't even meet their soulmates. Of course, it's possible, it isn't something common but it truly is possible.
Like their aunt, she hasn't met her soulmate. Which meant they were the only βchildβ in the whole family. She treated them like her own, which, [ name ] didn't mind. But, as much as they felt pity for their aunt, they didn't want the same situation.
What happens if that truly, did happen? What would they do? Shaking their head, they snap out of it, finishing the session. Opening the door to their room, they walk in, closing it behind them.
Never knowing the next time they woke up or not, they hoped it was going to be eventful. And to assure them, it surely is going to be eventful.
