BEFORE HARRY HAD LEFT THE DOORS OF GRINGOTTS, HE SPOTTED SOMEONE FAMILIAR.

It was Y/N's mother! Harry recognized her from the time she had dropped Y/N off.

A few goblins surrounded her, while she commanded them to do various things.

"Who's that? She seems important." Harry asked Hagrid, pointing at her.

Hagrid grunted. "Important? Ah, I haven't told you 'bout her! That family goes way back. They're the ones who designed the first Hogwarts robes! They have a giant store in Diagon Alley. I'll take you there if you want to, but that shop's for rich folks! Some can barely even buy the cheapest set of clothes in there! Expensive place, the Pink Emporium is."

"So they're a fashion brand?" Harry asked.

"A doll line, fashion brand, cafe, perfume, boutique, 'allat." Hagrid replied.

Harry's face flushed at the idea of Y/N possibly being there.

"Let's go get your robes, now." Hagrid said, bringing Harry to Madame Malkins's Robes.

"Hogwarts, dear?" Madame Malkin asked.

Harry nodded, and was guided to the back of the shop, were another boy was.

He was pale, and had slicked back blond hair.

"Hello." He greeted "Hogwarts too?"

"Yes." Harry replied.

They went on to make small talk, the boy reminding Harry of Dudley, the more they spoke.

The boy had said a lot of things Harry didn't understand, but he did understand the boy was discriminating in some way.

He was rude, and even went on to insult the shop.

"What a poor shop this is, don't you think?" The boy asked.

"I think it's nice." Harry defended.

"I'd rather go to that Emporium...stupid name 'Pink Emporium' is, but it's much better than here." The boy sighed.

Harry perked up.

"So you've been there before?" Harry asked.

"Of course. They sell all the luxury clothes I like." The boy responded.

"Do you know if there's a girl named Y/N who works there?" Harry asked.

The boy paused, before saying; "Why do you want to know?"

"Err-I was just wondering..." Harry replied.

"Yeah, sometimes she works there." The boy answered shortly. "Don't try to try your luck with her or anything." He sneered.

After the boy left, Harry felt confused as to why the boy didn't like talking about Y/N, and embarrassed that he didn't know half the things the boy had talked about.

A month later, Harry found himself  staring out of the train window, just as the Weasley twins had hopped off when their mom called for them.

He had just met the Weasley family, and they seemed quite alright.

There were many crowds in the train, and it was bustling with noise.

But suddenly, it had its attention when he heard someone say; "Y/N! How was your summer?"

Harry quickly got out of his seat, and peeked down the hallway.

And sure enough, Y/N stood in the hallway, father down, surrounded by people, just like at school.

"It was fabulous! How was yours?" Y/N kindly asked back.

"Y/N! Sit with us prefects!" Someone yelled.

Y/N laughed. "Oh! Thank you, but I'll stick to a compartment here!"

"Y/N! Sit with me!"

"No, sit with me!"

Various voices argued over who would sit with Y/N.

Harry's heart pounded in his chest.

Y/N was here! She was going to school with him, again! But it was different now...right?

He sat back down, wiping the sweat that appeared on his forehead.

Then, the sliding door opened.

It was Ron.

"Hey, it's chaos out there, and all of the compartments are full. Mind if I sit here?" Ron asked.

Harry nodded his head.

The twins, Fred and George appeared again, telling them; "Harry. Did we introduce ourselves? Fred and George Weasley. This is our little brother, Ron. Now, we're off to see Lee's giant tarantula!" They said, before rushing off.

"Are you really Harry Potter?" Ron asked.

And with those words, is how their friendship started.

After a long while of talking and eating the sweets Harry had bought, a boy came in asking if they had seen his frog. When they denied seeing it, a while later, a girl barged in.

"Has anyone seen a toad? Neville's lost one."

The girl had bushy brown hair and spoke in a bossy manner.

She noticed Ron was going to cast a spell after he finished saying they hadn't seen the toad.

After Ron's spell failed, the three made conversation, and the girl introduced herself as Hermione Granger.

She left later, taking Neville with her.

The compartment door soon opened later, but it wasn't Hermione.

Three boys stood, the one at the front being the boy at the shop.

"So it's true? You're Harry Potter?" He asked.

"Yes." Harry simply replied.

The boy introduced himself and the two boys behind him.

"This is Crabbe and this is Goyle. I'm Draco Malfoy." Draco said.

Ron let out what might've been a snicker, but covered it up with a cough.

"Think my name's funny do you? No need to ask who you are. Red hair, dirt cheap clothing, and more children than they can afford. You must be a Weasley. Draco sneered, before turning back to Harry.

"You'll see that some wizarding families are better than the others. You don't want to go around making friends with the wrong sort. I can help you there." Draco said, putting his hand out for Harry to shake.

"I think I can tell the wrong sort for myself, thanks." Harry replied, cooly.

They engaged in a short fight after, and Malfoy and his friends left, Hermione came in a small while after.

She told them to put in their robes, and not to fight on the train.

After the Hogwarts Express arrived at the magical looking school, Hagrid guided them on boats to the castle, straight out of a fairytale.

Hagrid lead them to someone named Professor McGonagall, when they reached the castle.

The stern looking woman led them into the  hall, in a lineup.

"Welcome to Hogwarts." She started. She then went on to explain the different houses and their dorms. She talked about the points system and the house cup.
"The sorting ceremony will take place in a few moments."

After an encounter with a few ghosts, they were guided into the great hall.

Thousands of candles decked out the sky, which was replicating the well, sky.
Four long tables were filled with people sitting, and golden plates and cutlery adorned the tables.

At the front was a stool, with a hat. That started to sing.

At the end of it's song, everyone clapped and cheered.

Professor McGonagall held a scroll and called out names to be called up first.

Many students got called up, and sat on the stool. The hat was placed on their head, and called out a house.

"L/N, Y/N." McGonagall read.

The room erupted into cheers, even before the girl had started walking.

Harry watched, as his crush confidently walked towards the stool.

She got on it, and gently placed the hat on her head.

The hat took a long while to decide, as the four tables rooted for her to be in their house.

"It's got to be GRYFFINDOR!" The hat yelled.

The gryffindor table erupted into loud cheers, as Y/N happily strode over.

"Potter, Harry."

Everyone went silent then, all trying to get a look at him.

Whispers threw themselves around the room.

Harry nervously placed the hat on himself.

Like many others, it took a while.

But finally...

"Better be...GRYFFINDOR!" The hat yelled.

Once again, the Gruffindor table started screaming again, Fred and George chanting; "WE'VE GOT POTTER!"

After Ron got sorted into Gryffindor as well, and the feast started.

Everyone started conversing, but Harry tuned them out to listen to another voice.

"Oh, my mother is half Veela, and my father is a muggle." Y/N explained.

A few people glanced at her differently.

"My father knew she was a witch, but he fell helplessly in love with her. He still is. He'll do anything she tells him to do!" Y/N laughed.

Her angelic laugh made many people automatically happier.

Including Harry, though he was already happier than he'd ever been.

"What're you staring at, Harry?" Ron asked. Then he sighed when he saw. "Ah, there's no point in staring. More than half of our grade fancy her."

But Harry had liked her first, right?

"Oh, yeah, okay." Harry just said.

After dinner, a speech, and eye contact with a teacher who caused his scar to hurt, Harry collapsed in his Gryffindor bed, and fell asleep almost immediately.
