It is the song of songs

๐ธ๐ Annabelle walked around, she heard a scream belonging to Sammy. "Sammy! What is it?" she exclaimed, breaking into a run and descending the stairs. Sammy's voice crackled through the comms, distorted by static. "There's bodies! Bodies in the pool!"
With that, Annabelle sprinted toward the pool area, her heart pounding. Before she could get there, another scream pierced the air, this time belonging to Peter. "Peter!" Annabelle shouted, worry lacing her voice. His voice came through the comms, exasperated, "I got a splinter... on my finger. A huge one from the stupid stick."
Annabelle sighed, frustration mingling with her concern. "A little more concerned with the bodies in the pool, Peter."
Frank's voice cut in, "How many bodies we talking? Like, two, three?"
Annabelle snapped back, "Does it fucking matter how many? Sammy is in trouble!" Just as she finished speaking, another scream from Sammy echoed through the building. Annabelle dashed off in the direction of the sound, panic rising. Meanwhile, Peter was still fumbling with his splinter, oblivious to Gabriel emerging from the dark hallway. Gabriel cleared his throat, catching Peter's attention. Slowly, Peter turned his head, eyes widening as he saw Gabriel smiling at him. Peter let out a terrified scream.
"Peter, stop fucking around," Annabelle replied, annoyed.
Peter's voice, now frantic, screamed through the comms as he ran, "Vampire on my ass! Vampire!" Gabriel was playing with him, enjoying the chase. This caught Annabelle's attention, diverting her path to follow Peter's screams.
Peter slammed a door shut behind him, locking it. "Take that," he muttered triumphantly. He spoke into the comms, "Alright. I got him trapped in the upstairs hallway, soโ"
His sentence was cut short as Gabriel effortlessly broke through the door. He dusted off the broken pieces and faced Peter with a grin. "Boo," he said, his voice dripping with amusement. Peter freaked out, grabbing a coat hanger and throwing it on the floor in a desperate attempt to block Gabriel's path. "Holy fuck! Vam... Vampire!" he screamed, bolting down the hallway. Gabriel rolled his eyes and started to follow him at a leisurely pace, enjoying the hunt.
Peter bolted down a set of stairs, glancing over his shoulder to see Gabriel looking down at him with a predatory smile. "Oh, shit," Peter muttered, speeding up. Reaching the bottom, he was stunned to see Gabriel already there, waving mockingly. Panicked, Peter darted through a door onto a balcony. Gabriel's dangerous screech echoed behind him, spurring him on. As Peter ran, Frank opened a door unexpectedly, knocking Peter off balance and sending him tumbling off the balcony to the floor below. Frank looked down at Peter, then up at Gabriel, who stood on the stairs, eyes burning with anger and hatred. Spotting Annabelle below the stairs, Frank signaled to her that Gabriel was there. Gabriel, still glaring at Frank, hopped onto the stair railing and began walking toward him.
Annabelle, watching the scene unfold, noticed Sammy approaching with a traumatized smile, covered in a foul-smelling substance. Annabelle covered her nose and exclaimed, "What the fuck?"
"I'm here," Sammy said, standing next to her. Annabelle looked at her with sympathy, taking off her jacket to wipe the disgusting mess off Sammy. "Oh, sweetie," she said softly, kissing Sammy's now clean forehead. The two quickly moved to their hiding spots as Gabriel advanced toward Frank, who tried to run down the stairs. Gabriel pushed Frank, sending him rolling down to the ground.
Gabriel descended the stairs and bent down, grabbing Frank by the neck. "What are the color of my eyes, Frank?" he asked menacingly, tightening his grip. Frank choked, gasping for air. Annabelle rushed to help, attempting to jab Gabriel with the syringe, but Gabriel knocked it out of her hands and pushed her away gently. "Sorry, love. A little busy here," he said.
Annabelle scrambled to retrieve the syringe, which had fallen behind a closed metal gate. Frank, struggling to breathe, croaked out, "Sammy? Sammy, help me! Sammy. Sammy. Sammy, help me, Sammy. Sammy, help."
Just then, Peter arrived and wrapped his arm around Gabriel's neck, lifting him off the ground and away from Frank. Frank gasped for breath, trying to regain his composure. Gabriel bit into Peter's arm, making him scream in pain and release his hold. Gabriel elbowed Peter across the jaw, sending him stumbling back.
Turning his attention back to Frank, Gabriel grabbed his ankle as Annabelle continued her desperate attempt to reach the syringe.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. What the fuck?" Frank exclaimed as Gabriel began to rise slowly, lifting Frank a few inches off the ground. "He's fucking flying!" Frank's voice was a mixture of disbelief and fear. Annabelle stared at Gabriel, her eyes wide with shock, as she hurriedly tried to reach the syringe. Frank continued to shout, "Fuck! What the fuck?!"
A battle cry from Peter diverted Gabriel's attention. Peter tackled Gabriel, knocking him down and causing him to release Frank. Together, Peter and Frank pinned Gabriel to the ground, struggling to keep him restrained. "Odette! Odette!" Peter called out to Annabelle, his voice urgent. "We can't hold him much longer. Come on! Do it now! Come on!"
Frank, dodging Gabriel's attempts to bite him, added, "Odette! Jesus fucking Christ, come on!"
Finally, Annabelle grasped the syringe and injected it into Gabriel's arm. Gabriel let out a pained exclamation, "Fucking hell, love!" He glared at Frank and Peter. "I'll kill you fucking fucks! I'll rip your heads off and gorge myself on your blood!" His breathing became labored as he tried to stay awake, but soon his eyes drooped and he fell into a deep slumber.
Annabelle cautiously approached, checking Gabriel's pulse. His heartbeat was slow and steady. She gently moved a piece of his hair out of his face before letting out a sigh of relief. The group collectively exhaled, the tension in the room dissipating slightly.
Annabelle turned to Peter, noticing the bite mark on his arm. "Peter?" she asked with concern.
Peter got off Gabriel, cradling his arm. "What's going to happen to me?" he asked, his voice filled with dread.
"How do you feel?" Annabelle asked, trying to assess his condition.
Peter chuckled bitterly, "I feel like I got bit by a fucking vampire." He then erupted, "What the fuck is gonna happen to me?! Huh?!"
Annabelle looked at his arm and then into his eyes, her face serious and concerned. "I don't know," she admitted. Silence fell over the group as they looked down at the sleeping Gabriel, the gravity of their situation settling in

Annabelle and the group moved Gabriel's sleeping form down to the elevator cage that was by the kitchen. As they laid him down, Annabelle placed her jacket, on the clean side, under his head to provide some comfort. She then stepped out of the cage and locked the door securely. Turning her attention to the kitchen, she wet some cloths to help wipe off the mess on Sammy's face and arms.
With the damp cloths in hand, Annabelle approached Sammy, who still bore the remnants of whatever foul substance had covered her. Gently, Annabelle wiped Sammy's face and arms, trying to be as soothing as possible. "It's okay, sweetie," she murmured softly, her voice full of care.
Once Sammy was relatively clean, Annabelle turned her attention to Peter. His arm bore the fresh bite mark from Gabriel, and the wound needed immediate attention. She led him to a chair, instructing him to sit down.
"Let me see your arm," she said, trying to keep her voice steady despite the situation. Peter extended his arm, wincing as Annabelle carefully inspected the bite. It looked painful, but fortunately, it wasn't bleeding too badly. Annabelle cleaned the wound as best she could with the limited supplies they had, dabbing it gently with antiseptic.
"How does it feel now?" Annabelle asked, her eyes searching Peter's face for any signs of infection or worsening condition.
Peter managed a weak smile, despite the situation. "Still freaked out about what's gonna happen."
Annabelle nodded, understanding his concern. "We'll figure it out. Just keep it clean and try to stay calm." She patted his shoulder reassuringly before moving on to check Frank's leg wound.
Frank was leaning against the counter, trying to appear nonchalant despite the clear pain he was in. Annabelle approached him, her expression softening as she saw the dried blood and the makeshift bandage wrapped around his leg.
"Let me take a look," she said, kneeling beside him to get a better view. Carefully, she unwrapped the bandage, revealing the deep gash underneath. "This looks nasty, but I've seen worse," she remarked, trying to keep the mood light. Frank gave a half-hearted chuckle.
Annabelle cleaned the wound, her hands steady despite the gravity of their situation. As she worked, the group remained silent, the tension in the air palpable. Everyone was acutely aware of Gabriel's sleeping form locked in the cage, a constant reminder of the danger they were in.
Once Frank's wound was cleaned and re-bandaged, Annabelle stood up and took a deep breath. She glanced around at her friends, her gaze lingering on each of them. "We need to stay vigilant," she said, her voice firm. "We don't know how long Gabriel will be out, and we need to be ready when he wakes up."
The group nodded in agreement, the seriousness of their situation sinking in. Annabelle knew they were in for a long night, but she was determined to keep everyone safe, no matter what it took.
