CHAPTER FOURTEEN:
❝︎She's An Angel❞︎

WHEN SHE AWOKE AGAIN, SHE WAS SITTING INSIDE THE CELL OF THE AVENGERS FACILITY, THAT EMOTION STILL VOID FROM HER EYES. She stood up, glancing down to her chained wrist forcing a scowl to place itself on her lips. Eloise Gardner looked around for a moment before her eyes narrowed in on the camera that was placed in the corner of the room. She stood up, looked directly in the camera, knowing for a fact that Tony and the others were watching her. She lifted her chained wrists up and with a smirk she jerked her wrists apart, sending the chain shattering to the floor.

"Oh great, she has super strength." Tony sarcastically remarked, watching the woman he loved with his jaw clenched. He was angry. He wished that they would've kept their hands off of Eloise. She never wanted something like this. She knew the burden of having powers because of Theodora, and Avery. She had heard the horrors and told Tony that he couldn't let that happen to her. And he failed and doing the one thing that he had promised her. "Do we know anything besides that? Do we know what they did to her?"

"Bruce and Rosalynn are working on it, but they can't do anything else until they can run tests are her." Natasha answered, lifting her chin slightly, her arms crossed over her chest. "And I have a feeling that that won't be happening until we can erase HYDRA's order from her brain. We really don't need her out to kill us all right now, and by the looks of it she's going to break out of that cell any minute now to do just that. So someone needs to come up with a plan, and they need to do it fast."

Steve stood there for a moment, his eyebrows furrowed as he thought about what it was that he was going to do. Or hell, if his plan was even going to work. The super soldier sighed before standing up straight and placing his hands on his hips as he turned to look at Natasha and Tony. "I think I might have an idea. I don't know if it's going to work, or if we're even going to be bale to make contact."

"Jesus, spit it out, Cap." Tony anxiously rushed him. If there was a way to free Eloise of what it is that HYDRA's done to her, then Tony was going to do everything in his power to make sure it was done.

"We can't get our hopes up on this." Steve warned them. "After what she's been through, I don't know if she'll come down. Or if she's even allowed to anymore. Her name is Celeste. She was one of my friends back during the war, and she was Bucky's other half. She's an angel. One that was captured by HYDRA the same time that Bucky was. She made it out, she escaped, and I think she'll be able to get Eloise out as well."

"You're telling me this whole time you've known an angel and never told me about her?" Tony scoffed. He turned to Natasha, pointing at her. "Did you know?" She simply nodded and Tony couldn't help but scoff in disbelief. He looked back towards the camera, watching his girlfriend for a few moments before he firmly nodded his head. "Alright. Let's try the angel. And if she doesn't answer, then I guess we're going to have to figure out a plan B."

Natasha narrowed her eyes at the man. "Something tells me you already have one."

"Yes. I do. Do I like it? Absolutely not. So, we're rooting for the angel and that Cap over here isn't a liar." And then he walked out of the room. And he made his way into the lab where Rosalynn and Bruce were working as per usual. He had to distract himself, at least until he heard back from Steve about whether or not he had managed to get into contact with the angel that had no doubt wanted to come back down to the place that had allowed her to fall in love.

He felt like he had been waiting forever. Working on improvements that his suit didn't need. All the while trying to keep his mind off of his girlfriend that was being controlled by a dead man. It was a lot for him to handle. But then he got the call. With Natasha making her way to the lab in order to drag Tony out of it. They had gotten contact, and now Steve was waiting outside for the mysterious angel that Tony had never heard of until now. He was almost skeptical, but then he saw it. Wings and all as she appeared in front of them.

She was a beautiful blonde haired angel, wings disappearing as the light around her did. The woman looked around for a few moments, almost as if she had never seen half the things she was looking at before she turned her head and found Steve. A wide smile spread on her face as she made her way towards the super soldier, pulling him into an embrace. And Steve hugged her back, because he had missed her. And he knew that she was hurting.

"It's good to see you, Steve." Celeste pulled away and turned her attention on Natasha and Tony. "Natasha Romanoff and Tony Stark, isn't it? Celeste." She held out her hand to which they both offered her a kind smile. Once the greetings were over where, a deep breath fell from the angels lips as she turned to look at Steve once more. "It was a lot of trouble to get my ass down here. What's going on?"

"HYDRA. They took over one of our people―︎"

"Say no more." Celeste nodded. "Whatever you need. I'm here to help."
