LILLIAN'S eyebrows knitted together in thought as she turned to face Peter who was leaning against the edge of the brick wall. "Peter?" She finally spoke after what seemed to be fifteen minutes of silence of them just gazing out the view in front of them.

He hummed in response, taking in the peacefulness for a few more seconds before turning to face her.

Lillian looked down at her clasped hands as she fiddled with her fingers nervously, "Have you been following me?" She asked barely above a whisper as she glanced up at Peter.

He blew out a puff of air, tapping on the edge of the brick wall as he leaned forward in defeat. "Guilty." He smiled sheepishly as his gaze met with hers.

"How long?" She inquired, not losing eye contact with him.

He regained his composure, "Just once a day..." He shook his head lightly. "Sometimes." He spoke softly whilst shrugging. "Sometimes more." He said quietly, avoiding her stare as he sheepishly stared at his feet.

She felt her heart clench in her chest and her stomach swarm with a giddy feeling. "Why?" She almost choked.

"To make sure that you're safe." He turned to face her whilst his eyes scanned over her face to look for any kind of reaction from her. "And because it's the closest I can get to being with you." He confessed, leaning in closer to Lillian whilst resting his forehead against hers.

She looked up at him through her lashes, "Was it you outside my window the other day then?" She asked quietly whilst subconsciously playing with his hands in hers.

His eyebrows knitted together in confusion as he slightly shook his head, "No, I left once you went inside your room and your light was turned off." He spoke truthfully as he looked down at their hands. "Why, did something happened?"

Lillian sighed, shaking her head lightly, "No. Nothing happened." She paused, licking her lips as thought over that night. "I couldn't sleep that night and I thought I heard you out my window." She shook her head sheepishly at the thought. "There was nothing there, though. It was probably just my imagination." She chuckled softly, reassuring Peter's worried thoughts before he speak them out loud.

He just nodded, not wanting to make her feel anxious with his worry thoughts. "Yeah, probably." He agreed quietly. "What time was this?" He asked subtly whilst his fingers intertwined with hers as it distracted her a bit.

"Um, around two in the morning? If I remember correctly." Now it was her turn to look down at their hands.

"Not gonna lie, I was contemplating on whether or not I should text you around that time." He smiled sheepishly at her once her gaze met his. Lillian chuckled softly at his confession as he looked at her in confusion, "What's so funny?" He asked, laughing along with her nonetheless.

"Um... I told Jade earlier today that I felt like I was being watched." She shook her head when she remembered the conversation with her best friend at the diner. "She joked around saying that it could be my subconscious and then she said it's probably just the aftermath of..." She cleared her throat, not realizing how close they were.

Peter nodded slowly before a cheeky smile crept up his lips, "Well, you know what they say," He shrugged playfully, "when you can't sleep, it means someone is thinking about you." He spoke cheekily.

Lillian rolled her eyes playfully, glancing at the skyline before looking back at a smiling Peter, "I miss you." She whispered with a small smile.

One of his hands let go of her to reach her cheek, caressing it with the pad of his thumb. "I miss you too." His nose brushed against hers as he watched her eyes flutter shut in content. "I won't let anything happen to you. I won't let go of us again." He promised whilst she nodded lightly.

Her hands snaked around his neck comfortably, "Good." She whispered before gently pulling down on his neck as his breath hitched in the back of his throat due to the close proximity. She felt the tingles rush across her lips as her eyes fluttered down to his lips. Without hesitation, Peter leaned in the rest of the way and softly placed his lips on hers. She felt his hand gently squeeze her hip, bringing her body closer to his. She softly moved her lips as he followed suit whilst smiling contently into the meaningful kiss they shared.
