"Good morning, Chief. I hope you had a restful night and are ready for the day ahead." Seokjin's assistant,Officer Yang, greeted him with a warm smile. "Thank you, Officer Yang," Seokjin replied, returning the smile. "I have a little head ache, though," Seokjin said with a slight frown. "Oh! Here are the hangover tablets. Offcer Cho gave me this to help with the pain." Yang said, handing the pills. "Thank you, Officer Yang," Seokjin said, taking the pills from the assistant.
Seokjin quickly swallowed the tablets and took a deep breath, hoping they would provide some relief. "And also, she told me to inform you that she has something to speak with." Seokjin nodded, grateful for the hangover tablets and curious about what Taeyang wanted to discuss.
After a few moments, Taeyang entered the room with a serious expression on her face. Seokjin could tell that whatever she wanted to discuss was important. He braced himself for the conversation, hoping that it wouldn't worsen his headache. He asked, "Is there something on your mind, Officer Cho?" Officer Cho sighed and asked, "When will we be going to Busan?"
"Oh, may be today evening or by tomorrow morning," Seokjin replied, but his eyes widen in surprise. He hadn't expected Taeyang to bring up going to Busan. "Wait, what did you say? Seokjin's mind raced as he tried to process Taeyang's question. Taeyang had never shown any interest in going to Busan before, so this sudden request caught Seokjin off guard. "So are you really willing to go busan?" Seokjin hesitated for a moment, unsure of how to respond. He knew that going back to Busan would make her feel uncomfortable and uneasy.
"Don't let me change my mind about this." Taeyang said it firmly, her eyes filled with determination. Seokjin could sense that. "Alright then," Seokjin finally replied, his voice filled with uncertainty. "So when do you want to go then?" Seokjin asked, keeping his hand on his cheeks and looking at Taeyang with a mix of anticipation and nervousness.
"It depends on your order, Chife." Taeyang replied, raising an eyebrow. Seokjin chuckled nervously. "Well, I guess maybe if you want to go today evening, you can, or maybe tomorrow morning would work too. It's up to you, Taeyang." Seokjin suggested, "We should ask Jungkook too, since he's also going with you." Taeyang nodded in agreement, her determination unwavering. "Officer Yang, please inform Jungkook to my cabin," Seokjin ordered, to Officer Yang.
After a few seconds, Jungkook entered the cabin, bowing his head respectfully. "You wanted to see me, Chife?" Jungkook asked, his voice filled with curiosity. Seokjin nodded and gestured for Jungkook to take a seat. "We are discussing going to Busan. So with discussing you, we want to ask you too and hear your thoughts on the matter," Seokjin explained. Jungkook's eyes widened. "You mean, Officer Cho is also coming to Busan?" he asked, surprise evident in his voice. Seokjin nodded and said, "Well, Officer Cho will lead you with this case. Follow her instructions and work closely with her." Jungkook nodded, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness. "I'll do my best, Chief," he replied confidently. Seokjin smiled.
"When do you want to leave?" Seokjin asked, looking at Jungkook expectantly. Jungkook took a moment to gather his thoughts before responding, "I think it would be best if we left as soon as possible. The sooner we get to Busan, the more time we'll have to investigate and gather evidence." Seokjin nodded in agreement. "What do you say, Cho?" Seokjin turned to Taeyang, who had been listening intently. She paused for a moment, thinking about Jungkook's words because they would be beneficial to them mostly. Completing the case and getting back to Seoul will be the best thing for her. "I agree with Jungkook," she finally replied. "The sooner we leave, the better chance we have of finding any leads or witnesses before they disappear." Seokjin nodded in agreement once again, satisfied with their decision. "Alright then, I will inform other heads to make sure all arrangements for your stay are made." Seokjin said.
"There is no need to do those. You can make them for Jungkook; I will be fine taking care of my own arrangements," she assured him. "Besides, it will give me a chance to gather my thoughts and prepare for the upcoming investigation." Seokjin hesitated for a moment before nodding in understanding. "Then I too don't need any of those arrangements," Jungkook said confidently. "Alright, but don't hesitate to reach out if you need any assistance," Seokjin said sincerely.
"We will be leaving this evening then," Taeyang stated, checking her watch. "I suggest we gather our belongings and meet in the lobby at 6 p.m. sharp." Jungkook nodded in agreement, ready to go on with their upcoming investigation in Busan. "All the best, guys. I have confidence in you," Seokjin said, giving them a reassuring smile. "Yes,Chief," Taeyang and Jungkook said in unison, their voices filled with determination. They exchanged a final glance before turning to leave the room. "Taeyang," Seokjin called, making them halt. Taeyang and Jungkook turned back to face Seokjin, their eyebrows raised in curiosity.
"Yes, Chief?" Taeyang asked, wondering what else Seokjin needed to say. Seokjin paused for a moment before speaking again. "Stay strong; never let your past cloud your mind and hinder your work. Remember, you are capable of achieving anything, and I believe in your abilities." Seokjin said with a warm sincerity, his words resonating with Taeyang and Jungkook. Taeyang's eyes softened at Seokjin's words as she nodded in understanding. "I will be taking care of her, Jin Hyung; don't worry," Jungkook reassured, his voice filled with determination. "First, take care of yourself, kid," Seokjin teased Jungkook, a small smile playing on his lips.
"But seriously, don't forget to take care of your own well-being. We're a team, and we'll support each other through thick and thin. See you," said Seokjin, his voice filled with genuine care. "Oh! Sure, old man," Jungkook chuckled, playfully teasing Seokjin back. "Yah! Jeon Jungkook," Seokjin scolded, feigning annoyance but unable to hide the affection in his voice. "Remember, respect your elders," he added with a playful wink. Jungkook laughed and waved goodbye before turning to leave the cabin, feeling grateful for the strong bond they shared as a team.

"Is everything packed?don't want to forget anything important," Seokjin asked, his eyebrows furrowing with concern. Jungkook nodded with a reassuring smile on his face. "Don't worry, Hyung; I double-checked everything. We're good to go," he replied confidently. "Why are you feeling tense? You are not even coming with us." Jungkook asked, noticing the worry lines on Seokjin's forehead. Seokjin sighed and looked down for a moment before meeting Jungkook's gaze. "I just can't help but worry about you guys. You're like family to me," he admitted, his voice filled with genuine concern. Jungkook's heart warmed at Seokjin's words.
"Take care of her, Jungkook. She might look so strong, but she isn't invincible. This case sometimes reminds me of her past, which was filled with trauma," Seokjin continued, his eyes reflecting a mix of sadness and protectiveness. Jungkook nodded, understanding the weight of Seokjin's words. "I promise, Hyung. I'll do everything in my power to keep noona safe. She is not only your sister but also mine too," he assured, determination shining in his eyes. Seokjin smiled softly, grateful for Jungkook's reassurance.
"I also know what she has faced in the past. " Jungkook looked down at his hands, his voice filled with empathy. "But I believe in her. She is strong, and I believe Noona will definitely overcome her past." Seokjin's smile widened, touched by Jungkook's unwavering support. "Are you ready?" Taeyang asked. Jungkook and Seokjin looked up at Taeyang and said, "Oh, you came already," Seokjin said with a hint of surprise. "Yes, I'm ready," Jungkook added confidently.
"Our train has arrived. Let's go," Taeyang said. The three of them stood up and made their way towards the train. Seokjin stood outside the train door. "All the best, and take care of yourselves," he called out to Jungkook and Taeyang. "Remember, whenever you need my help, don't hesitate to call me." Seokjin said, waving goodbye with a reassuring smile. "We'll make sure to stay in touch," Jungkook replied, his voice filled with determination. With one last wave, Seokjin watched as the train doors closed and the train slowly pulled away, carrying his friends towards their new beginning. 'I hope she won't suffer anymore,' Seokjin thought to himself, feeling a mix of emotions as he watched the train disappear into the distance. He knew that sending Taeyang back to Busan, even for the sake of the case, was a difficult decision. But he also knew that she could really solve the case and bring justice to those who had suffered. Seokjin took a deep breath and left the station.

"It looks like someone broke your heart. Let me help you fix it." A boy who looks like 20 said it with a dark smirk on his face, keeping his hands around her waist, making her tremble with fear. She tried to yank away from his grip, but the poor girl was no match for his strength. Her heart raced as she desperately searched for an escape route, hoping someone would come to her rescue.
She kept hitting with her hand, which was of no use as the boy's grip only tightened. Just as she was losing hope, "Leave me, please," she pleaded, her voice trembling with desperation. The boy's smirk faded slightly as he hesitated for a moment, his grip loosening ever so slightly. But the next minute, he pinned her hands against the wall, his eyes filled with a sinister determination. The girl's hope dwindled further as she realised that escape seemed impossible, and she braced herself for what was to come.
"You think those would work one more time?" The boy sneered, tightening his grip even more. The girl's heart sank as she realised that her pleas had fallen on deaf ears, and she prepared herself for the worst. He kept his head at the crook of her neck and whispered, "You're not going anywhere." The girl's body tensed, fear coursing through her veins as she understood the gravity of her situation. She knew she had to find a way to survive this ordeal.
He almost ripped her shirt, making her gasp. "Why are you doing this to me?" she managed to choke out, her voice trembling with fear. The boy's eyes narrowed, a twisted smirk forming on his lips as he replied, "Because you deserve it." The girl's mind raced, desperately searching for a glimmer of hope amidst the darkness. She knew she had to stay strong and find a way to escape this nightmare.
He started kissing her neck, leaving a trail of unwanted marks on her neck. His hands were travelling down to her uniform. She tried to push him away, but his grip tightened, making her feel trapped. Fear consumed her as she realised the gravity of the situation. The girl's heart pounded in her chest as she fought back tears, determined not to let him break her spirit. She knew she had to remain focused and use any opportunity that presented itself to free herself from his grasp.
*ping* "The train from Seoul to Busan has reached its final destination," announced the automated voice over the train's intercom. "Noona, noona," Jungkook shook Taeyang, making her awake from her sleep. "Are you alright?" Taeyang blinks, momentarily disoriented by the sudden change in surroundings. She forced a smile, trying to hide her lingering fear. "I'm fine," she replied, her voice shaky. "Just a bad dream," she added.
Jungkook looked so worried that Taeyang couldn't help but feel a pang of guilt that he couldn't do anything. She reassured him once again, "Really, I'm okay. Let's get down now, or else we will be going back to Seoul again."
Jungkook nodded, still concerned but trusting Taeyang's words. They gathered their belongings and exited the train, stepping onto the platform of their final destination. The bustling cityscape greeted them, and Taeyang felt unease at feeling that she had come back to the place where she left so many painful memories behind. She let out a shaky sigh, hating that this place was making her look so lost and vulnerable.
"Are you really alright? Jungkook asked, his voice filled with genuine concern. Taeyang forced herself to be normal and replied, "I'll be fine, Jungkook. Just give me some time to adjust." Jungkook gave a nod. They hailed a taxi and climbed into the backseat, the city's familiar sights passing by as they made their way to their destination. Taeyang stared out of the window, trying to distract herself from the overwhelming emotions that threatened to consume her, but nothing could make her feel free. The weight of her past still lingered heavily on her shoulders, causing her to feel suffocated in this new environment. She couldn't help but wonder if she would ever truly find a sense of belonging again.
"This is the apartment we'll be staying at," Jungkook said, breaking the silence. Taeyang glanced at the building, its towering presence adding to her unease. She took a deep breath, reminding herself that this was just the beginning of her journey. "Yours is on the 8th floor," Jungkook continued, pointing towards the top of the building. Taeyang nodded, "I'll be on the 7th," Jungkook said with a reassuring smile. "Um, I thought we could get on the same floor, but only these two are vacant," Jungkook said with a hint of disappointment in his voice. "It's okay," Taeyang replied. "We'll still be just one floor apart, and I'm sure we'll make the best of it," she added, walking into the elevator.
"See you tomorrow, unnie. Have tight sleep." Jungkook waved goodbye as the elevator doors closed, leaving Taeyang feeling a mix of anxiety and exhaustion. She took a deep breath, reminding herself that this was just the beginning of her journey. "What's the code for this?" she thought to herself as she reached into her pocket for the slip of paper with the room number and access code. "I think I have to change this. I don't want anyone else to have access to my room." She made a mental note to talk to the front desk about changing the access code as soon as she settled in. Taeyang knew that taking control of her environment would help ease her anxieties about being in a new place.
She finally entered the room and found it to be clean and cosy. However, she noticed that the curtains were open, revealing a clear view from the outside. Determined to make herself feel more secure, she closed the curtains tight and made sure every window was locked, taking control of her surroundings and creating a sense of privacy
On the other hand, Jungkook opened his suitcase and began unpacking his belongings. He carefully arranged his clothes in the closet and placed his toiletries in the bathroom. As he settled into the room, he couldn't help but notice a faint, musty smell lingering in the air. Wanting to create a more pleasant environment, Jungkook decided to open the windows and let in some fresh air.
The night view of Busan looked breathtaking from his apartment room, with the city lights twinkling like stars in the distance. The cool breeze that flowed in through the open windows added to the serene atmosphere, making Jungkook feel instantly at ease. As for Taeyang, who just kept the windows closed in her room, she doesn't mind the musty smell and prefers a cosy, enclosed space.

"Who was that new officer coming from Seoul?" asked a man with black hair, wearing his uniform. His voice was so deep that it resonated throughout the room. "Officer Kim, you better speak low. In my office, a woman was radiating her authority as she gestured for Officer Kim to follow her. Her stern expression matched her commanding tone. "Where is Park?" she asked. "Jimin was in his cabin, Chief Yoo; he had been there all the time, like a frog stays in its well." Kim replied.
"Kim Taehyung How many times do I have to tell you not to mention my name when we are in office?" A black-haired officer asked, his voice dripping with annoyance. His stare is shrap yet not scary. He crossed his arms, leaning against the wall and exuding an air of nonchalant confidence. "When did you come out of your cabin?" Taehyung asked, his tone laced with sarcasm. "Just when you are talking about me in the cabin like a frog," Jimin replied with the same amount of sarcasm.
"Can we move on to more important matters if your questioning section is finished? I have a lot of work to do, and I don't have time for these petty arguments." The chief said her frustration was evident in her voice. "Yes, chief," Taehyung said firmly, straightening his posture and meeting her gaze. Jimin nodded in agreement. "The Seoul crime branch has confirmed that they are sending two officers, as we requested, to assist with the case. They must have arrived too." The chief sighed in relief, grateful for the additional support.
"Taehyung, you will be going to pick them up tomorrow; make sure to brief them on the details of the case and introduce them to the team," she instructed. Taehyung nodded, understanding the importance of a smooth integration for the new officers. "I'll make sure they feel welcome and up to speed," he assured her, ready to take on the responsibility. Jimin spoke in, "And if there's anything else we need to do before their arrival, just let us know. We're here to help." The chief smiled, appreciating their dedication and teamwork. "Thank you both," she said sincerely. "O! I forgot to tell you their names," she realised. "The new officers joining us are Officer Cho Taeyang and Officer Jeon Jungkook. Please make sure to address them by their names when they arrive."
"Wait," Taehyung interjected. "You mean the Chief Kim Seokjin team's second in command, Officer Cho Taeyang?" The chief nodded, impressed by Taehyung's knowledge. "Yes, that's correct. Officer Cho has been highly recommended, and I believe she will be a valuable addition to our team. The other officer is a lower ranking, but when he was a trainee, he did a really fantastic job on many missions under Team at the Seoul crime branch. He has proven himself to be skilled and capable, which is why he was chosen to join our team. I have high expectations for both Officer Cho and Officer Jeon, and I'm confident they will do well in their roles." Chief Yoo spoke as her eyes sparkled with anticipation.
"We will be leaving then," Jimin said, not interested in Chief Yoo's speech. He glanced at his watch, eager to get back to work. "Hey, that's so rude," Taehyung interjected, frowning at Jimin's dismissive attitude. "Chief Yoo worked hard to put this team together, and it's important to show respect." Jimin sighed. "Do you think I care about what you think?" Jimin retorted, his tone dripping with sarcasm.
Yoo chuckled at Jimin's response. "Well, you may leave, Park," she said with a slight smile. "I'm sorry, he's just a bit tired from the long day," Taehyung apologised, trying to diffuse the tension. "Well, this guy really needs a friend like you to keep him in check," Yoo replied with a smile. "But I know he's not always easy to handle. When I met him first on my team, he'd really worked so hard to prove himself. He had a lot of pressure on him, but he never let it affect his work ethic. It's impressive how much he's grown since then." Yoo said as her smile grew wider, talking about Jimin. "He's truly a valuable member of our team," she added.
"Alright, you can leave, Kim; it's getting late for you too." Yoo said, giving Kim a friendly pat on the back. "See you tomorrow. Chief," Taehyung said with a salute as he exited the room. Yoo nodded, appreciating Taehyung's dedication and respect for their team leader. "Goodnight, Taehyung," she replied with a warm smile.

It's really dark outside; it almost blew cold winds. Midnight Busan looked so mysterious and enchanting, with its dimly lit streets and the sound of distant waves crashing against the shore. But not even a single person heard a girl cry for her life in an abandoned building where she was tied up and left to suffer in silence. The eerie atmosphere of the night concealed her desperate pleas for help, leaving her feeling even more isolated and terrified.
"This world is so crumpled, isn't it, babe?" said a dark voice from the shadows, sending shivers down her spine. The girl's heart raced upon hearing the voice. "Look, you went missing for almost three days, but no one even noticed," the voice continued, dripping with a mix of mockery and malice. The girl's mind raced, realising that her disappearance had gone unnoticed by those she had once trusted.
"Don't worry, lady, you will be found tomorrow," the voice taunted, its words dripping with a chilling certainty. The girl's hope began to fade as she realised that her chances of escape were dwindling with each passing moment. "Maybe being chopped like that," the voice sneered, its tone filled with sadistic satisfaction. The girl's fear intensified, knowing that her captor had no intention of letting her go alive.
"Gross, that looks so disgusting," the voice chuckled, its twisted sense of humour sending shivers down the girl's spine. The girl's stomach churned in disgust, realising that her captor derived pleasure from her suffering. She desperately clung to the last remnants of hope, praying for a miracle to save her from this gruesome fate.
"Please leave me; I swear I won't let anyone know about this," the girl pleaded, her voice trembling with desperation. The captor's laughter echoed through the room, leaving the girl with a sinking feeling that her pleas were falling on deaf ears. She knew that her only chance of survival relied on finding a way to escape before it was too late.
"Look at you. Have you heard what she said?" The captor sneered, his eyes filled with sadistic amusement. The girl's heart sank further as she realised that her captor had no intention of showing mercy. "You just want to let me go, will you?" she whispered, tears streaming down her face. The captor's sinister grin widened as he took a step closer, relishing in her vulnerability.
"If I leave you like this, you won't complain about me later," he replied, his voice dripping with malice. The girl's mind raced, desperately searching for a way to outsmart her captor and escape the horrifying fate that awaited her. "How selfish. You want me to live freely and let me kill another girl, then what's the use of letting you go, huh?" The captor's words sent a chill down her spine as she realised the depths of his sadistic nature. The girl's heart pounded in her chest; her words were just fueling the captor's sadistic pleasure.
"You really smell like fear," he sneered, taking a step closer. "I wonder how you would taste," he taunted, his eyes gleaming with swirling excitement. The girl's body trembled uncontrollably as she desperately tried to come up with a plan to escape the clutches of this deranged captor. "Let me devour you before you die," he whispered, his voice dripping with menace.
He came out wiping the blood off his knife, hands a sinister smile playing on his lips. "May her soul reach peace," he muttered, his voice filled with sadistic satisfaction. "I heard that there were new officers arrived from Seoul to solve this case," said a man in black, covering his face with "Here's the information about them," he said, handing a file to the man. "Hmm, I heard that she's really good at her job, and this kid did a really amazing job. Let's see how good they are and find us," replied the captor, a glint of anticipation in his eyes. "If she's as skilled as they say, it might make this game even more thrilling."
