"Then take us to him."
Peter said and we went back to The Beavers' home.
We were almost there then we heard wolves howling in the distance.
"Hurry, mother! They're after us!"
Mr Beaver said hurriedly and Mrs Beaver started to pack so I began to help her to.
"What are you doing?"
Peter asked.
"Oh, you'll be thanking me and Y/n later. It's a long journey and Beaver gets pretty cranky when he's hungry."
"I'm cranky right now!"
"Do you think we'll need jam?"
Susan asked, she too had started to help.
"Only if the witch serves toast."
Peter said, I don't know if he was trying to be funny or not but then we heard the wolves. They surrounded us and started to break the den down. We quickly took everything and went down a tunnel.
"Badger and me dug this. Comes out right near his place."
Mr Beaver explained to us.
"You told me it led to your mum's!"
Mrs Beaver exclaimed, Lucy tripped but I quickly got her up.
"They're in the tunnel."
She whispered in horror and we rushed to the exit faster.
"Run!"
I shouted. We came across a place what seemed to be a dead end.
"You should've brought a map!"
There wasn't room next to the jam."
And Mr Beaver jumped up, we followed him and came out to a snowy opening. We quickly blocked the tunnel and I heard Lucy fall.
We turned around and saw little stone statues that looked like terrified animals. Mr Beaver walked up to one of them and looked down in sorrow.
"I'm so sorry dear "
Mrs Beaver consoled him.
"He was my best mate.''
Peter spoke.
"What happened here?"
