[The end of the world] - [Skeeter davis]

The air inside the car became heavy with the weight of their shared concern as they sped towards Dani's house. The city lights blurred outside, a mere backdrop to the palpable tension between Jay and Sora.

Upon arriving, they found themselves standing before a seemingly ordinary house. The suburban stillness added an eerie quality to the moment.

The door, an unyielding barrier to the unknown, refused to open conventionally. The escalating fear etched itself on Sora's face, a departure from her usual composed demeanor.

In an adrenaline-fueled burst, Jay decided to break down the door. The echoing sound reverberated through the quiet neighborhood.

As the door gave way, the unsettling odor of decaying chicken emanated from within, intensifying the ominous atmosphere. Sora, now in uncharted territory of anxiety, followed Jay into the mysterious abyss that Dani's home had become.

They were unnerved by the scent and particularly disturbed by the blaring music.

Why does my heart go on beating?

Jay remained downstairs, diligently searching for Dani.

Why do these eyes of mine cry?

Sora attempted to ascend the stairs, moving cautiously, perhaps apprehensive about what she might discover. However, she endeavored to stay optimistic, considering the possibility that Dani was merely playing a prank. As she drew closer to her room, assuming due to the increasing volume of the music, she gingerly turned the doorknob.

Don't they know it's the end of the world?
it ended when you said goodbye

Dani's bed was vacant, and Sora's eyes traveled all around the room. She noticed Dani's phone on the nightstand, playing the song on a loop, prompting Sora to release the tension in her shoulders.

Why does the sun go on shining?

Sora left the room, her attention captured by another room with a slightly ajar door and a faint glow seeping through.

Why does the sea rush to shore?

She walked slowly, each step measured, her heart pounding in her chest, eyes wide open.

Don't they know it's the end of the world?

Had the hallway always been this long, or was Sora merely dragging her feet?

Cause you don't love me anymore

"Dani..." she murmured softly, uttering her name in anticipation of a response.

As she reached the door, her breath caught in her throat. She gasped loudly, eyes widening in shock. A sharp, involuntary cry escaped her lips as she stumbled backward, falling against the door. "Dani!" The name burst from her lips in a mix of horror and despair.

Her hands pressed against the doorframe, trying to steady herself, but the sight before her seemed to shatter the ground beneath her. The room revealed a haunting scene, and the overwhelming reality struck her with a force that sent shivers down her spine.

The dim light in the room outlined a devastating tableau—Dani's lifeless figure, her legs suspended, hung in a silent plea. Sora's voice quivered as she shouted Dani's name once more, each syllable carrying the weight of disbelief and grief.

Don't they know it's the end of the world?

Sora's heart-wrenching sobs echoed in the room, a symphony of grief that filled the void left by the tragic scene. Jay, alarmed by the intensity of her cries, rushed upstairs to her side. Witnessing the harrowing sight, he instinctively embraced Sora, attempting to shield her from the searing pain of the moment.

As he held her trembling body, Jay gently tried to cover her eyes, shielding her from the graphic tableau before them. The weight of the scene bore down on them both, a shared agony in the face of a profound and devastating loss.

it ended when I lost your love.

The police arrived at Dani's residence while Sora, engulfed in sobs, stood on the porch, mercilessly blaming herself. Perplexed, she accepted an item handed to her by the police office.

"Ms. Jung, I think you should read this; it appears to be a suicide letter."

Her hands trembled as she opened the envelope and commenced reading.

"Sora, you were my favored doctor and person. You were the sole individual who comprehended my struggles and endeavored to assist me. However, I couldn't confide in you, not when he was observing – my daddy. I believed he did that out of love; that's what Mr. Choi said anyways, he insinuated that I liked the way my daddy fucked me, and it evoked a sense of pathos because it was the truth. I couldn't endure any longer, not when he persisted in his actions, not when everyone knows. I apologize for everything. "

Sora's cries became increasingly desperate, each gasp for air a palpable struggle against the weight of her emotions. Her body quivered with the intensity of her sorrow, and the unrestrained tears formed rivulets down her cheeks. The sounds of her anguish filled the air.

Jay, witnessing this profound vulnerability, saw not only tears but also the vulnerability of a soul laid bare. Sora, who had always been a fortress of strength, now crumbled in the face of her pain, and Jay's heart ached to see her like this.

He gently held her, providing a refuge in his arms as if trying to shield her from the storm of emotions that threatened to engulf her. The cadence of her cries echoed the depth of her suffering.

"I'm so sorry; I can't stop it," she uttered amidst her tears.

Recalling the conversation he had with her mom the night before, he reassured her, "It's not your fault. You can cry as much as you want; I'll wait for you."

Jay drove his car in silence, with Sora beside him, both enveloped in a heavy quietness. Sora's once bright eyes now appeared dull and lifeless, hinting at an internal struggle. Jay sensed her self-blame, and the silence spoke volumes about the weight of her emotions.

In a sudden shift, Sora's voice broke the silence, shaky not from sadness but anger. "Take me to the clinic."

Arriving, her red, puffy eyes betrayed her recent tears. Ignoring the nurses' greetings, she marched with determination, eyes fixed on the elevator. She stormed into a specific office, forcefully opening the door.

Dr. Choi greeted her with an annoying smile, "Knock the door next time, Ms. Jung. Manners matter here; I'm your senior."

Unfazed, she walked forcefully to his table, slamming a letter down. "Oh Fuck you and your manners. Dani died, and it's all your fault. When you take a patient, take care of them, you money-hungry piece of shit ."

His smile vanished as Jay silently cheered for her.

"I've accepted everything from your inexperienced female self, but this..." Dr choi said.

"Blaming me for someone else's death is not okay," he continued.

"But blaming a woman for getting raped is okay?" she retorted.

An intense eye contact ensued, a silent battle between them. Sora was the first to break it, declaring, "I'm taking this to the medical board. Good luck explaining it to them."

Dr. Choi, unwilling to yield, seized Sora's wrist with force, causing her pain. She struggled to break free, and just as he threatened to inflict more harm, Jay intervened. With a swift move, Jay threw Dr. Choi off, causing the doctor's nose to bleed.

Dr. Choi chuckled, wiping the blood away, and remarked, "How do you think the board will react once I tell them about your... 'relationship' with this one?" He sneered, insinuating something about Jay and Sora.

Jay, seething with anger, was ready to deliver more blows, but Sora intervened,  "He's not even worth it. Come on, we can't waste our time." Despite the provocation, she urged Jay away from further confrontation, recognizing that their focus should be on exposing Dr. Choi's misconduct rather than engaging in a physical altercation.
