Again today, I spend my days in tears

I cry until I get tired as yet another year passes

══✿══╡°˖✧✿✧˖°╞══✿══

He furrowed his brow when he noticed you standing motionless in front of his doorway.

Taehyung raises his brows in perfect ache as he looks at you with a calculating gaze. He could see how nervous you were. She should be; how did she summon the courage to "return" in his presence?

"Ms. Choi, please don't just stand there like a statue. We don't have the entire day. I'm a busy man, so come in and close the door. Mr. Hansen forwarded you some documents that you must review and return to them. I've already signed them off with the only docu-forms. Sit. "He extended his hand and motioned to the leather chair before him.

You took a deep breath and quickly sat down as you took out your laptop. You were worried because you could feel his gaze on you. You felt entirely out of place and lacked the courage to look him in the eyes. He'll notice the loving gaze reflected in your eyes. You could handle your heart thumping erratically in your chest and a tense heartache approaching, but you kept your cool.

"Ms. Choi...Cha-Young, look at me," he said, furrowing his brows at your quiet demeanour, which puzzles him greatly.

You slowly lift your gaze from your laptop into his hypnotic eyes. You exhale deeply.

"Yes, Mr. Kim," you reply quietly.

"How come you came back to work here? if you know we don't get along?" He looked conflicted when he noticed a sudden pained emotion in your eyes.

"My boss forced me to come, Mr. Kim. I had no choice--" you softly mutter.

He raises his eyes and looks at you blankly, "Everyone has a choice, Cha-young?"

Your eyes widen in surprise. He addresses you by your given name. A flush appears on your cheeks as you recall how huskily he called out your name affectionately. However, it is now devoid of all affection.

"I know Mr. Kim," you sigh deeply. However, I was the only team member who could communicate in English and fluent Korean. I was the obvious choice, and it was part of my evaluation test as a senior curator."

He raised an eyebrow as he leaned back in his chair, his forefinger stroking his bottom lip. You could feel your heartbeat quicken. Taehyung hasn't lost his powerful grip on you. How are you going to survive this sexiness overload without revealing your feelings to him? You peek at him under your long eyelashes as he sat there.

"Oh, really..look. Let's get right to the point. I do not want you here. I don't see why I should team up with you. I request Mr Hansen send only Olive and that other guy to your gallery. We are not friends...and we will never be friends understood," he said, his eyes narrowed in slits as he looked at you with a renewed coldness.

You pressed your lips together as you felt the burning behind your eyelids. You could nod as you painfully gulp. Taehyung still despises you, and you can handle your heart constriction. How will you work in such a hostile environment? You wish you could pack your suitcases and return to Denmark to wallow in your grief and loss.

With a deep breath, you look him in the eyes as he looks at you puzzled, the emotions that flash across your face puzzling him. "Mr. Kim, I understood. I'm only here to do my job and ensure the success of the second Egyptian phase. You lower your gaze because you know your eyes will soon tear up.

"Good, as long as we are on the same wavelength, and please don't disrupt my life anymore. I handled it with you for four years at university. Unfortunately, we must team up, but just stay away from me," he muttered softly. His icily dark eyes bore into you.

You took a deep breath," Mr. Kim, I promise I'll stay away from you. But how will we convey critical messages?" You raise your eyes, your heart aching from immense pain.

"Text...emails...will do," he says as he waves you off. Or use Olive to send me a message. The truth is that I don't want to be near you. You irritate me."

Your lips parted in surprise, "Why? Why are you doing this? Again? We buried the hatchet last year. We changed...I change Tae...Mr. Kim:" You just couldn't help yourself. A single tear was falling down your pale cheek. You knew right then and there that working with him would be agonizing. He has become colder and more challenging. And so hateful...

He abruptly rose from his leather chair and leaned over his desk, almost in your teary eyes with flashing eyes, "You may want to know why. Ms. Choi. I despised you and loathe seeing you in my territory. You are vindictive, spiteful, and just an awful person. You said you'd change...don't make me laugh. "He scoffs.

"I would never jeopardize my work or disrespect you at your workplace, Taebunny!" you cried out, jumped up, and sniffled.

"WHAT THE HELL DID YOU JUST CALL ME?" his eyes widen.

You looked shocked at him but masked it with utter confusion. "What do you mean?"

"You called me Taebunny! What the hell? Is that supposed to be an insult directed at me? "He was horrified.

You wiped your eyes as you pressed your lips together tightly. "Yes! No! Forget it." how can you tell him this was his memorable name of endearment? He loved that you called him that, especially during your cuddle times when he would lay on your lap, relax, and you would stroke his curls in your fingers. You love those times...which are gone and forgotten forever.

His eyes were flashing dangerously. Did she insult him in his own office? He suddenly sprints around the table and grabs your upper forearms. He pushes you up against the table as your eyes widen with surprise and fear. He wasn't sure what struck him, but having her in his domain made him see red. He loathes this girl, and now she calls him such a ridiculous name to insult him.

You gulp visibly at his annoyance, and his proximity excites and scares you to death. If looks could kill, you'd already be 9 feet underground. His breathing was laboured as he stood so close to you that he could feel your heartbeat irregularly. With a sudden hesitation, he looks into your eyes. Your round eyes were wide and wary in his. Why were you so stupid to let it out?

Your gazes were fixed, and an undefined emotion flashed across his face as he stood quietly staring at you. Your face was pale white, and you felt a sense of Deja Vu. You were in this situation almost nine months ago, but the outcome drastically differed.

"Mr. Kim...you...you're hurting me," you stammer. His hand was pressing against your injured arm near your shoulder. He furrowed his brows and slowly let you go, moving away with shock from you. As he wiped his curly hair, he inhaled deeply, looking at you with eyes narrowed.

"We can't be together in the same room without me trying to kill you. Do you see why I don't want you here, CHOI?" His breath was blowing in your face. His eyes had an odd glint to them that you couldn't place.

You nod as you gulp, your shoulder aching and your eyes welling up. "I don't know what to do, Mr Kim. Mr. Hansen is counting on me to do a good job, and as I previously stated, it will be part of my evaluation. But... I don't want to aggravate you. Mr. Kim, I respect your territory. Mr. Hansen refused to send Hansel and Olive alone because I was involved in the first exhibition. If you hate me that much, you can contact Mr. Hansen and request a replacement, and I will leave." With deep sadness and a deflated tone, you said. You discreetly rub your arm, wishing you were back in Denmark.

Taehyung's eyes glow as he looks at you. "So you want me to call Mr. Hansen and tell him how I feel about you? Don't you think that's a little unprofessional?"

You pursed your lips and shrugged. "If that makes you happy, I'll leave you alone. I don't want to make you feel bad." You inhaled deeply, attempting to cover up your hurt feelings.

"Cha-young...you're odd. Since when have you cared about my happiness? You enjoy inciting fights whenever we cross paths. A cease-fire has never been considered. What happened to you?" He leans/sits against his table, arms folded across his torso, next to you.

Ms. Choi is confusing in some ways. She became timid, and where is the fiery, arrogant attitude she used to radiate? Her arrogance and smugness are no longer with her. A girl with pain in her eyes stood in front of him. Dejection and a sense of defeat dominate. What happens to her? Is it a ploy to deceive and attack when he least expected it?

You wiped your eyes with your palm as you looked up at his handsome face. "Mr. Kim, I grew up. I promise my dad that I'll turn a new leaf. I've put the past behind me, and I sincerely apologize for everything I've done to you, Mr Kim, Torturing you with pranks, mud sliding, and so forth. I guarantee you that I am different."

"So quickly...how do I know you're genuine?" he asks, genuinely shocked.

You shook your head in deflation," You can ask ...Jimin. The first time I came here nine months ago, we called a truce. We fought and disdained one another. But, Mr. Kim, you and I began to tolerate each other. We were somewhat understanding and capable of putting on the best and most successful exhibition ever..."

"Just like that!" snorted Mr Kim as he clicked his fingers." Cha-young, how could you have such a sudden change of heart? We hated each other. "with passion"!he exclaimed in disbelief.

--and we love each other with the same passion, you thought inwardly.

You softly nod and sigh. "Mr. Kim, we pull it off for the sake of the exhibition. But I'm sure you forgot about it because of your condition. I also don't expect you to forgive me. I realized we had truly harmed each other and had gone to great lengths to humiliate each other. Our university days were tumultuous and emotionally draining. Mr. Kim, I truly wish you both happiness and health. I'll inform Mr. Hansen of your request." You say with a flat tone.

You realize your love for him is so intense that if it means him being happy and content away from you, you will give it to him.

"What will happen to you if you go back?" he asked, surprised by your story.

Lose your job or the promotion to Hansel...you wanted to scream it out but couldn't.

"Don't worry about it. As long as you don't have to deal with me." You exhale profoundly and shut your laptop. You'll complete the work in the comfort of your apartment. It would be best to leave when the pressure in your head begins. A massive migraine attack is on the way, and you can't be in Taehyung's presence for him to witness your pain. It is your lot to carry.

You took your laptop bag and turned to face a silent Mr Kim, still pondering what you had just told him. He is more baffled than ever. Why can't he remember them as friends? He doesn't trust her. She always had this lovely, serene expression that made people fall in love with her innocence. But he is well aware of her deception. He will not be taken in twice.

Your hair hides your shoulders and reveals what is underneath your red top. He noticed a deep, rugged red scar on your red top. His breathing became laboured. W..what!

He jumped from the table and called your name, "Cha-young...!" He moved quickly where you paused with raised eyebrows.

"Yes, Mr. Kim," you say slowly, turning around to look at his pale face.

"What...what happened to your shoulder?" he asked, pointing to your shoulder.

You flushed bright red when you realized your top only partially concealed the scar. How could you have forgotten so quickly with your thick hair disguising it? It was still healing, but it had left an unsightly scar.

His expressive eyes widened as you shrugged and said, "Oh er... it's from an accident I had a few months ago?" You strangled it out. You don't want to be reminded of that fateful day that took away your happiness and disfigured you.

All that remains is emptiness and loneliness. At least he was able to move on...you wish you were the one who had lost your memories. Wouldn't it be more tolerable...than constantly being reminded of your loss?

"Was it the same accident in which I was involved? Was it my fault?" As he stared at you, his face was devoid of colour. You only nod quietly and bite your lip. "But that's fine. I'm dealing with it. It is not painful, "you say softly. You're lying through your teeth. He'd be surprised at your pain tolerance if he knew how much your shoulders hurt right now.

His expression was unreadable as he saw you wince, "Cha-young...were we in the same car on that fateful night?" His eyes looked a little fearful into your hooded eyes.

"Yes...we were together that night?" you tell him, your lips quivering as you look into his apprehensive eyes. What he saw in your eyes made him unnerved.

With a puzzled expression, he asked the question that no one dares to answer, "Why were we in the same car-- in the same place that day? Please be honest with me..."

You exhale deeply, feeling your heart constrict. Why must you now reveal your long-forgotten relationship? He can't quite believe you've been friends, let alone lovers. You will never tell him, ever. He must find it out himself. Even if he remembers you after ten years, you'll be dead by then.

He was observing you with curious eyes, waiting for you to respond...

1. Do you think Cha-young must tell Taehyung about their past or wait?

2. Will they be able to work together even if he hates her?

3. Do you feel that Cha-young must rather go back and wait for him to regain his memory?
