Nixie the water Nymph
"Why has it suddenly gone darker" Thor asks, as you turn down a narrow path.
You noticed it too, but then remembered Munnin's rhyme. It mentioned her darksome corner. The water nymph must live under dim shadows.
"Do you hear that?" Huggin questioned.
All three of you stopped your horses and listened.
"I hear trickling water and heavy splashes" you say.
"But we're up a mountain, there's only small streams. No full body of water is this far up" Thor says confused.
You shrug your shoulders. Just as baffled as they were.
You follow the sound through untamed paths, deciding it was best to go by foot when the trail became too thick with weeds and thorns.
Thor tied off the horses in a safe place, and Huggin led the way, using his wings to slice through the weeds and clear the way forward.
It was evident not many people wandered this far up.
As you got closer to the sound of water splashing, you heard laughing. A female laugh.
You caught up to Huggin, eager to get though the weeds. He swiped his wing one more time revealing the large body of water you suspected. It glowed with florescent hues of green and blue.
In the distance you see a feminine shape, she frolicked with someone else in the water. Playfully splashing with one another.
You squint your eyes, desperately trying to see the larger toned figure.
"Is that.... Is that Loki?" Huggin asks, bewildered, unsure if he was seeing things.
You looked closer, zoning in on their figures.
You saw the Nymph press her body against the male, and with ease he lifted her up and playfully tossed her into the water.
"No, it can't be. That guy is clearly flirting with the beautiful water nymph. Loki wouldn't-"
"That mother fucker! I came all the way here, thinking he's in danger and he's frolicking with a fucking mermaid!"
"Mermaids are mere myths Sister" Thor chuckles at your mistake.
You shoot him a glacial stare "I see a tail, and she lives in water. She's a damn fish!"
Another loud shrill echoed out as their joyous game of water tag became more hands on.
Your eyes widened and jealous rage filled you, you could now see Loki more clear. His upper body just as bare as hers.
"He better be wearing a swimsuit under that water!" you warn through gritted teeth.
"I don't think he is Sis-"
"Sssh" Huggin whispered, elbowing Thor hard and quickly cutting him off.
Unlike Thor, Huggin could clearly see your jealousy, and your frustrated rage.
"Are we sure this is the evil water nymph that guards the fountain of knowledge?" Huggin asks, skeptical.
"Yes" you say, clenching your jaw "look, Munnin has clearly drawn a picture of the slimy kipper"
You held up the map in front of Huggin, he nodded, seeing a small portrait in black ink, the likeness uncanny.
Thor burst out laughing, amused "kipper.. because a kipper is a fish" he repeated, laughing, proud of himself for getting the joke.
You roll your eyes annoyed. Pissed in fact.
"You know, she doesn't look evil, she's actually quite pleasant to look at" Thor says, eyeing her candidly.
You burn with rage, shooting daggers at the back of Thor's head, while he stared at her bare upper body. Her bouncing breasts on full show.
"Is this still a rescue mission?" Huggin enquired
"This is surely starting to became a body pick up, not a rescue! Huggin you'll be retrieving two dead princes if they carry on frolicking and ogling that bottom feeder"
Thor finally heard your anger, but was surprised at your jealousy.
"Calm Sister, let's continue observing. She must have some hold on him"
You suddenly felt a bit better "yes that must be it. She's controlling him. Making him stay within her waters"
"Oh Loki, your large hands are tickling my fins" the Nymph squeals, splashing away from Loki, while laughing.
"I'm going to kill her and then severely punish him!" you blurt out angry.
You barged past Thor and Huggin, ready to roast a fish with your magic, when you're suddenly yanked back and pulled into a bush.
You struggled against Thor's large arms, while your yells were muffled by Huggins big hands.
"Sssh Flower..Look!" Huggin whispers, while gesturing his hand towards the sunken skeletons in the shallow end of the lake.
Your brows raised noticing the remains of the dead. You calm down and Thor released you. Slowly you crawl towards the lakes edge and peer into the clear water.
You gasp, seeing hundreds of bones partially hidden on the floor of the lake. Even some fully intact skeletons lay tangled in water weeds.
"So I think this confirms she isn't as friendly as she looks" Thor admits.
"Maybe she likes to play with her food first" Huggin surmised.
Your worried eyes snap to Loki, this time you look closer at his features. He was pale, had dark circles under his eyes, and his skin was wrinkled from being in the water for far too long.
Dread filled you, something just didn't feel right.
You gasp as realisation hits you.
"He's already offered her something she didn't want. His energy is depleting, the mystical water is feeding off him" you exclaimΒ
"So he literally is fish food" Thor announces, shocked.
"Right, I think we should put our heads together and come up with a plan of action" Huggin instructs, "Flower, any suggestions?"
You gazed at them both, feeling determined.
"Yes, I suggest we do a surprise attack, just barge in full force, all guns blaring and-"
"No-no, absolutely not" Thor says, adamantly refuting your plan.
"Best not to pounce while hot headed, calm your jealousy first Flower" Hugging advised
You took a deep breath, calming yourself.
"You're both right, I'm sorry, it was a silly idea, lets really think and do as you say, put our heads- OH MY GOD! what is that?!" you whisper loudly, pointing to something behind them.
They both suddenly turned to look, Thor gripping his hammer nervously.
"I don't see anything Flower" Huggin said looking back to where you were.
"Flower? Princess?" Huggin stood up and darted around, not seeing you.
"Get your scaley hands off my man before I make you into sushi!" you boom, your voice blaring out across the waters.
You had ran away to the shoreline of the lake when Huggin and Thor fell for your distraction.
You hear them run up behind you "by the Gods, you're insufferable!" Thor said, angered you tricked him.
"And completely impatient! and irresponsible and" Huggin chimed in, unbelieving he fell for your mediocre trick.
"Can you both please Shush!" you frustratedly whisper "you're killing my fierceness. She needs to see me as a badass bitch who can't be messed with, and you outing my negative traits is messing with the look I'm aiming for!"
Thor looked at you apologetic before addressing the confused water Nymph, who merely stared at the three of you rambling on together.
"She is indeed a bad-ass, the biggest ass ever!" Thor said defiantly, trying to build up the pretence.
You pinched the bridge of your nose as your cheeks flushed red, feeling completely embarrassed.
Huggin leaned into Thor and corrected him "It's Bad-Ass Thor. Not just Ass"
Thor's eyes widened, and his face tinged pink with embarrassment at his slip of tongue. He wasn't quite familiar with the Midgardian term.
"As I said, let him go!" you demand, your eyes staring her down.
You haven't yet locked eyes with Loki, you feared you'd see the same look of intense loathing. The gaze he gave you during the eclipse, after you kissed Prince Beren.
Her eyes completely left yours, ignoring you. Instead she turned her attention to Huggin and Thor, smiling lustfully as she scanned their bodies.
"Well hello boys, come on in. The water is warm" she utters seductively.
"No. Leave them be. You have me" Loki's voice had a taut edge to it. He was nervous.
You see her move towards Loki, pushing her breasts against his body and stroking the side of his face.
"Oh but my sweet, you slowly fade and it won't be long before you stop playing with me. I cannot pass up these fine men, or the fun we'll have"
You clenched your teeth together, holding your tongue. You wanted nothing more than to scream profanities at her.
"Come sweet ones, come into the water. Offer me something I want and I'll give you anything you desire"
You see Thor step forward, his foot about to step into the water. You quickly held him back.
"What are you doing Thor?!" you yell into his face.
He shook his head as though breaking out of a daze. "I uh- I felt compelled to go to her. I don't know how"
"Don't look at her face!" Loki yelled from the water, a clear warning to Thor and Huggin.
You understood what Loki was relaying.
"She must hypnotise you, luring you into the water. Make sure you avert your eyes, and keep out of the lake, both of you" you instruct, looking at both Thor and Huggin.
They nod, and keep their eyes either on Loki or lowered.
"You're beginning to grate on my nerves Loki! One more word from you, and the murky waters will take you"
"No! Please, let him go" you plead.
She looked at you smugly then looked to Loki. You kept your eyes on her, still not brave enough to face him.
"So this is your female? the one who doesn't remember you, the one who betrayed you. I have to admit, she's a pretty adulteress"
You felt her words strike your heart and you suddenly felt the heat of Loki's intensive gaze. It was as though he was imploring you to look at him. But you couldn't.
She noticed you avoiding Loki's face, deciding to amuse herself and toy with your emotions.
"Look at him adulteress, look at your man"
A deep shame washed over you as vivid images of you kissing Beren replayed in your mind.
"LOOK AT HIM!" she yelled.
Your glassy eyes finally moved to his face, and locked gaze.
Your tears instantly flowed seeing his expression. You didn't see loathing, or hate, or disgust. But sorrow, and regret.
"Is there something you wish to say to your harlot Loki? Before the fountain drains you completely"
She smirks, seeing your eyes widen in anguish.
"Will you forgive me, for pushing you on the balcony Kitten?"
You sighed out a blubbering sob, your tears leaving glistening streaks down your cheeks. His potential last words to you were him asking for forgiveness.
You saw his beseeching eyes, they called to you, desperate for an answer.
"Oh my Love, of course I forgive you"
"Aww, how sweet, how touching. It seems you've forgotten about her unfaithfulness, just like she's forgotten about you"
You saw the hurt on Loki's face as she reminds him of your lost memories and betrayal.
She sighed, looking longingly at Huggin and Thor, who still averted their gaze.
"Well, I'm bored of your reunion, and I'm bored of you Loki. You no longer entertain me, so I have no need for you"
Your heart raced hearing her chant in a singsong tone. She was calling something.
Immediately the water started rippling around Loki. A skull broke the surface of the water, it rose up until eventually a fully intact skeleton stood facing him.
Loki's eyes widened, seeing the skeleton move as though alive.
"By order of me, Nixie the water Nymph who guards this sacred fountain. I command you to take this living being back down to the watery grave with you"
"Nooo!" you yell "I have an offering, take it in exchange for his life!"
"You have nothing I want!" she snaps, dismissing the blue gem necklace you held within your clenched hand.
She didn't even look at it, never intending to accept an offering for Loki, she enjoyed your pain too much.
Thor and Huggin watched helpless as Loki tried to fight against the undead bones. A former victim of Nixie and the fountain.
"What do we do?!" Thor yelled frantic.
You felt lost, in a complete daze. Without thinking you expelled a magic beam directed at Nixie.
She laughed at your feeble attempt, watching amused as your beam of magic bounced off the water and headed back to you.
You quickly pushed Thor and Huggin out of the way. The beam striking a nearby tree instead, causing the bark to splinter outwards as the tree split in two.
"Let me try moljnir!" Thor exclaimed.
He quickly sparked a jolt of lightening towards her, but it merely fizzled out like a used firework upon nearing her.
Thor looked at his hammer in shock "I'm severely disappointed with you Moljnir!" he said sternly, speaking to his hammer as though it were a living thing.
You suddenly realise you didn't hear Loki struggling anymore. You dart your eyes to the lake, scanning for his body, yet you couldn't see him.
You yelled out his name, panic and fear evident in your voice, hoping he'd answer you. But all you heard was Nixie still laughing at your failed attempt to save Loki.
"He's gone. Taken to his watery grave. But the men are welcome to come in and look for him. Come, come to me, offer me something and tell me what you seek" her voice was a melody, a sweet lullaby trying to lure Thor and Huggin inside.
Huggin saw your pain and suddenly took flight, hovering over the water.
"Huggin come back!" you shriek.
"I see him. He's there, he's still alive, but he's being held down! I can go to him, grab him!" he yelled from above.
"Oh yes, please do. Submerge yourself into my waters. You can do it...Huggin, is it?" Nixie cooed, egging him on to dive into the waters below.
"No, Huggin don't!" you cry out.
"Don't brother, it's a trap!" Thor pleads.
Your anxious emotions were unstable, and your mind was in turmoil knowing Loki was drowning.
You needed to think but the noise of your surrounds was deafening.
Nixie still taunted Huggin, urging him to enter her domain, and Thor boomed, pleading with him not to listen.
You closed your ears to the outside world. Forcing the sounds to dissolve until you only heard your hammering heart beating profusely against your chest.
Your adrenaline reached peak and you knew what you had to do. You had to save Loki. Not Huggin.
You Fully accepted your fate of death if it meant Loki could live, and if that outcome didn't succeed, you embraced dying together.
You took a deep breath and sprinted forward, jumping up before diving downwards towards the water.
But just as your head dipped breaking the wet surface. Huggin swooped in and grabbed you, throwing you towards the safety of the land.
You hit the ground hard, rolling to a stop in the dirt.
You cast your eyes upwards trying to focus, but your mind was in a dizzy haze.
Huggin looked at you one last time as he hovered above the lake and Nixie squealed in delight anticipating another victim.
His heavy heart ached seeing your tear fraught eyes. He knew this was the last time he would find comfort within them.
"Thank you for bringing me out of the darkness, and into the light Flower, you saved me more times than you'll ever know. I will miss you"
His last words rang in your ears as he dived down, submerging his entire body under the murky waters.
You shot up to quickly follow after him but Thor held you back.
"I may not have got to play with the bird man, but I can feel his life force and his vast knowledge feeding my fountain already" Nixie admits, her eyes rolling back feeling more power flow through her.
You looked at the now calm waters, your eyes red rimmed and sore.
"How about you mighty Thor. Do you also want to take a dip" she laughs, watching your sorrowed faces with glee.
You saw the water begin to ripple, indicating movement under the water. You held your breath in anticipation.
All of a sudden an explosion splashed upwards expelling a large bundle along with it.
You heard a loud thud behind you where it landed.
You ran over to see what it was, and relief poured through you when you saw it was Loki.
Nixie screeched in disappoint, never believing anyone could escape.
Loki's weakened body lay sprawled out on the dirt. He gasped for air as he spluttered all the water from his lungs.
Thor kneeled down besides him and struck his back, helping him cough up any remaining water.
Loki immediately looked at you, and saw the relief in your eyes. But then guilt riddled through him when he saw you dart around in all directions, looking for Huggin.
"Huggin, where are you?!" you cry out, confused and on the verge of tears.
"Darling Girl, please come to me" Loki pleads, his voice hoarse.
"But Huggin, I need to find Huggin" you say distraught, still scanning the ground for signs of your loyal friend.
"Please my Queen, come to me" Loki held out his arms, desperate for your comfort.
You stopped your searching and turned to Loki, his anguished expression revealing what you already knew, but couldn't bare to admit.
Your heart sunk into the deepest pit of your stomach realising Huggin didn't come with him.
You stood rooted in place and sobbed hysterically, grief overwhelming you.
"Please.." Loki says lowly, his voice thick with dejection.
You dashed towards him, throwing yourself into his arms, your body covering his nakedness.
You were relieved to be within his arms again, but the grief and loss of Huggin caused you unbearable heartache. You continued weeping hard against his chest.
He held you close, feeling grief but deep guilt too.
"I thought I'd never see you again sweetheart, I was so close to Valhalla, I saw the doors, and the gods, they called to me. But then I was pulled back, Huggin pulled me back"
You sat up and saw appreciation on his face, he was so grateful that he was still here with you. But you also saw the hurt, and the sadness because Huggin sacrificed his life for his.
Your stomach knotted as the deep feeling of despair overwhelmed you. You knew you couldn't ever live happily with this profound pain, or the extreme guilt if you didn't try to save Huggin.
You'd give up your life for him as you would for Loki.
"Loki, I love you. But I-I can't let him die. I'm sorry, my life is no more special than his. I have to try"
You suddenly pulled from his weak arms and cast your eyes down to him. "Should I not come back, I want you to love and be loved Loki"
Loki's blood ran cold hearing you say those words.
"No! Please don't go" Loki yelled weakly "Thor! Grab her!"
Before Thor could get up you had already began running towards the water. You dived in, submerging yourself completely.
You felt the water pressure heavy on your body, already it was squeezing the life from you.
Up top it was clear water, but as you got lower it became too dark to see. The deeper you went, the murkier it became.
You kept your eyes open, intently scanning the bottom. Yet it was too hard to spot a black bird within the already dark depth.
You desperately needed light.
Thor stood over the edge of the water, anxiously watching. He could see you swim but you swam the opposite way.
"She can't see him!" he yelled to Loki.
Loki was crawling slowly towards the shoreline, willing to jump back in to attempt your rescue even in his severely weakened state.
He coughed, collapsing down onto the dirt, spluttering out words "It's darkness down below, use your hammer to light the way!" his voice was croaky, but Thor heard him well.
Thor quickly emanated a bright glow and held his hammer just under the waters surface.
Your eyes suddenly squinted, adjusting to the now bright light that lit up the bed of the lake.
You see a black mass of feathers, entangled within bones that held Huggin down. His held in breath almost depleted, he was just about to drown.
You swam towards him, and held onto his face, pointing to your lips.
He immediately knew what you were gesturing, and quickly changed into his human head, allowing you to engulf your mouth around his lips.
You blew your own breath inside his mouth, giving him another minute of air.
You grabbed at his body, but the bones holding him down had an unusual strength. They wouldn't break no matter how hard you tried to snap them.
You fired a beam of your magic from a short distance but the pressure of the water would not allow it to fire outwards.
You swam closer, and physically grabbed at the skeleton that held him down.
Pushing your hand against the stiff bone, you shot a beam directly against it.
To your surprise and relief it worked, your magic broke the bone releasing the strong grip on Huggin, enabling you to pull him free.
You guided his weak body upwards. Thor's light helping you see through the thick dark, but as you swam up, Huggin was being dragged back down.
You looked down and saw Nixie enraged that you managed to break him free from her skeleton guards.
She swam up and faced you, holding Huggin against her tight.
"Loki may be safe, but you will not save this one" she speaks under the water, yet you heard her clearly.
You pulled on Huggin but your air was depleting and she was strong, even stronger under water.
Huggin moved his hand to your face, cupping your cheek softly, his expression saying this was a last goodbye.
He let go of your hand and smiled, giving you permission to also let go. Accepting his watery fate.
You shook your head refusing to give up, but he pushed you away. Allowing Nixie to begin pulling him back down.
You quickly gripped onto Huggins body, and stared into his eyes.
Shock and sadness filled his face when he saw you were willing to die with him. Not leaving him to die alone.
He fought against you, trying his hardest to push you away. To make you swim up, but you held onto him tight until he grew too weak to fight you.
He clashed his forehead to yours not wanting you to be frightened by witnessing his final moment. The harrowing scene of taking a final breath underwater.
You felt his body against you suddenly convulse as he inhaled the murky water. It flowed down his throat filling his lungs.
You didn't think it was possible to cry underwater, but as you held him. As he drowned within your arms. Tears leaked from your eyes, forever being apart of the lake.
You felt death approaching, as your own last breath was imminent. And as death loomed, your mind miraculously replayed all your lost memories in a flash reel. You smiled remembering your love, remembering Loki.
You faintly see the blue gem necklace float in front of you. The strong vibration of Huggin's convulsions had caused it to escape your pocket.
You saw Nixies face light up upon seeing it. You quickly grabbed it and pushed out your hand offering it to her.
"Is this your offering for his life or yours dear one?"
You push Huggin into her and she knew your choice.
Immediately she expelled you and Huggin up to the surface, and as you broke the water you took a gasping breath.
Yet Huggin was not breathing. You immediately dragged him to the waters edge where Thor was waiting.
"Take him Thor! Start resuscitation!" you yell frantic, still panting for a breath.
You looked back and saw Nixie watching you, smirking while holding the end of an enchanted chain.
You looked at your foot, the other end was cuffed to your ankle. She had you on a leash. You couldn't attempt an escape without her dragging you back in.
You heard Huggin gasp and splutter. You turn and see him being helped to sit up by Thor and Loki.
Loki quickly turned to you looking grave, "Darling, come on, get out of the water!"
"I take it back, you're not insufferable Sister, you did it, you saved him!" Thor beamed.
You smiled seeing Huggin become aware, his amber eyes catching yours.
"But at what cost" Huggin murmurs, looking at you in guilt ridden anguish. He knew what you did.
Loki suddenly stared at you with eyes full of worry, panic on his face.
"Get out of the water Mina! please!" he screamed, trying to scramble up and crawl over to you.
You lean out of the water and take his extended arm, pulling him towards you until you came face to face with him.
"Please come out of the water, please" he begs, tears trailing down his cheeks.
"You know I can't Loki. I'm bound to her" you say with sorrow.
"No darling, just walk out, climb out, let me help you" he mumbles, his face fraught.
He tried to madly pull you from the water, using the remainder of his strength. But your chains held you in place, locked to the water, bound to Nixie.
"Oh how sad. Lovers reunited only to be parted again" Nixie says, gliding up to you.
"She'll make a great play mate, until I get bored of her. Who knows how long that will be..days, weeks, years"
Your eyes widen "years?"
"Oh yes, it's however long I choose. Maybe Loki can visit. He can watch as I train you to lure your own men in the water. Watching from afar, yet never able to touch you"
"Take me instead. Have me, have my life. Let her go please Nixie" Loki pleads.
"No Loki!" you yell.
"You survived Loki, and once you survive my waters you can never step back inside"
Loki suddenly tried to shove his hand inside the water not believing her, but as he tried an invisible barrier stopped him.
Nixie laughed seeing his face become grave. She giggled as she watched Loki bash madly at the water but never actually touching it. The shield preventing even the tiniest drop to settle on his skin.
"Loki, stop" you say through tears, grabbing his hand and pressing your lips to the middle of his palm.
"Time to go my new apprentice, we have a lot of work to get through"
She swiftly turned and glided away, yanking on the chain, forcefully pulling you away from Loki.
"Noo, please. I'll do anything. Anything!" Loki's desperate voice became distant as you were pulled further away.
You hear him frantically yelling, pounding at the ground and against the barrier to get to you. His hands becoming bloody.
You turn one last time before she took you to her hidden lair. A place no one in the realms could reach.
You see Thor holding a manic Loki, trying his hardest to console his brother.
You look at Huggin, his eyes stare blankly as grief and profound guilt took over him. You hoped this wasn't his Catalyst that leads him down the same dark path as Munnin.
"Such a shame you didn't have two of these, there's something special about this necklace, and it's just so pretty. I do adore blue" Nixie says, holding up the blue gem necklace and admiring it.
"It is special it's enchan-" you stop yourself from finishing your sentence as an idea popped into your head.
"It is so pretty, it would look truly beautiful sat around your neck. Blue is your colour" you say, enticing her to put it on.
She held it against her body, and looked at her reflection in the water. "Hmm, I usually don't wear jewellery, mere gold just isn't worthy enough. But this one, it's enchanting. I like how the blue gems glisten and reflect light fragments on my skin"
"It would suit you so well, the blue hues that reflect off the gems would make it look as though your skin was sparkling" you say, softly trying to persuade her to wear it
"Hmm, it would wouldn't it. I'd look even more mystical, truly hypnotising" she gloated.
"Here, allow me to fasten the clasps"
To your surprise she turned around and allowed you to securely fasten it around her neck.
"How do I look?" she asked, proudly showing it off.
"Oh so beautiful. So alluring. In fact, I feel so drawn to you myself" you say, sliding over to her, pressing your chest against her bare breasts.
She stared at you intrigued, a hint of lust in her eyes.
"I've never had a women enter my fountain, you'll be my first. I think we'll have a lot of fun together apprentice" she says, ghosting her lips over yours.
You were unsure how the enchantment on the necklace worked or if it would work for anyone other than Prince Beren. But you had to try.
You gently touched the necklace with your fingertips, while she was distracted.
Nixie suddenly felt a strong need, desire pumped through her body, feeling totally mesmerised by you.
You saw the change in her eyes, and felt her demeanour a lot less dominating.
"Nixie, do you want me?"
"Yes" she panted, her voice breathy as lust consumed her. she gripped onto you, pulling your body into her.
"Oh Nixie I want you too but these chains that bind me are restrictive. Can you release me from their enchantments my sweet"
Her eyes grew more lustful hearing you call her your sweet.
"Of course, and then we can have some fun" she says provocatively.
"Yes, lots of fun" you reply, grazing your hand down her cheek, stoking her desire for you.
She dived into the water and fiddled with the enchanted cuff on your leg. Suddenly you felt it come undone, your leg no longer held heavy under the water.
You were free.
She smoothly popped up out of the water and stood before you "There, no more restrictions" she cooed, tugging on the straps of your dress, wanting to take it off.
You began to walk backwards towards shallower waters. But she followed closely, still trying to pull on your strap.
You moved faster, your heart racing.
"Why are you trying to escape my touch, don't you want me?" She said, her features oddly twitching.
Her expression suddenly changed, she didn't look as mesmerised anymore.
Shit, she's aware. The enchantment has broke.
Her eyes suddenly glared at you, angry. She ripped the necklace from her neck and flung it in the water.
You quickly made a dash for the waters edge, Thor, and Loki coming into view.
They stood on the edge anxiously calling over to you, beckoning you to come with their hands, as you scramble madly towards them.
"Come on darling, you can make it! Faster!"
You felt her body right behind you. Her fingertips grazing your back. And just as she was about to take hold, you saw red orbs float past you, and the water went still.
You turned around and saw her unmoving, and frozen in place. Her arms still extended in a stuck pose just about to grab you.
You could see her eyes were still aware, she was desperately trying to fight the magic hold on her body.
You followed the trail of red orbs with your eyes and saw Kai with outstretched arms, his body in a stance as he struggled fiercely to keep her controlled.
"I can't hold her much longer Ma Belle! Get out of the water!" he yells, his voice tremulous and unsteady as he fought hard to keep her controlled.
"Sister! Move now!" Thor urged.
You hastily dashed forward, trudging through the water as fast as you could.
"She's waking! My Love please, swim faster!" Loki cried out louder, his voice full of panic.
You heard a loud screech from behind you as she finally broke free from Kai's controlling magic. Her high pitched shrill sent shivers down your spine.
"Run Ma Belle!" Kai's raucous voice echoed through the darkened forest.
You see Loki, and Thor stand up and lean over the waters edge ready to pull you out as you get close enough.
"You will pay! I will make you suffer wench!" Nixie's ringing voice was almost at your ear, she was so close.
Feeling her right next to your neck you instinctively forced a beam of magic from your palms. Your magic bounced off the pressure of the water and hoisted you up, giving you that jump you needed to narrowly miss her grasp.
You were flung high up, before crashing back down hitting your head on a rock, making your mind swim with dizziness
As your mind swirled, you felt arms grab you tight and pull you with force.
You slump forward, landing harshly on a hard surface.
Your eyes remained closed. Not yet able to open them due to the spinning sensation, and partly because you were afraid to see Nixie glaring at you.
Your heavy head rolled forward, taking rest on whatever you landed on. Oddly you felt it move, it rose up and down rapidly. As though it was breathing.
A familiar scent hit your nostrils forcing you to peek up.
"Loki!" you breath out, your voice wobbly.
Loki pulled your body further along his chest, bringing you face to face with him.
Before you could say any word Loki crashed his lips to yours, holding your face steady, not allowing you to break his kiss.
Your whole body relaxed, getting comfortable as you lay on top of him.
All the aches and pains, and the memory of what you just went through seemed to blur. His kiss was taking precedence, making everything else fade momentarily.
Your passionate kiss slowly ended, both you and Loki needing to catch a breath.
"Don't scare me like that again sweetheart" Loki pants.
"Don't do stupid shit like this again, and maybe I won't have to scare you" you reply.
Loki chuckled but then looked at you sadly, gravely.
"I could never live without you my Queen"
You press your lips gently to his, "Good, because I can't live without you either"
He smiled against your lips, before rolling you over onto your back, and kissing you passionately.
You feel the flex of his muscles as your hand glides down his uncovered back. You carry on travelling further until you reached his bare bottom.
You raised your hand and quickly thrashed it down, spanking his ass.
You felt Loki's throaty growl vibrate inside your mouth, making your core quiver. Instinctively you separate your legs allowing Loki to nestle between your thighs.
Your hands roam his body as he continued to kiss you aggressively. His stiff cock poked hard against your thigh.
You suddenly break away from his lips, your mind bringing you out of your aroused haze.
"Loki" you whisper.
"Yes my Love" he says, while nibbling your neck.
"We have an audience" you remind him.
"I thought you liked public romps darling"
You giggled trying to force his heavy body off you.
He reluctantly rolled over and sat up, not ashamed to be naked and with a huge erection in front of Thor or Huggin.
Thor held out his hand and hoisted you up before helping Loki up too.
You see Huggin still sitting on the dirt, staring into space. His mind completely broken, believing you were gone, believing it was his fault.
"I don't think he's grasp that you're okay Sister"
"I've come to learn, ravens have brilliant but fragile minds" you say lowly, slowly approaching and kneeling down towards Huggin.
"Huggin" you call him softly.
His mind had sunken in on himself, he was lost in the fray, replaying the harrowing moment he drowned in your arms.
You recognised his look of mental despair. Munnin suffered the same break until you cured his wing.
Loki now fully dressed kneeled down next to you, and took your hand.
You both called to Huggin, trying to bring him out of his mental torture. His expressionless face twitched alive with every call.
"I think he's coming out of it darling, keep calling him" Loki urged.
"Huggin, it's time to come out of the darkness my friend, follow my light and come back to me"
He no longer heard your disembodied voice. It sounded loud, and clear. It rang inside his ears bringing him out of the shadows of his mind.
His features suddenly came to life. His eyes caught yours and his brows scrunched together as he battled to hold in tears.
"Flower! You're really here?" he asks dubiously, wishing with all his heart that you were real and not just an apparition projected from his strong emotions.
You cupped his face, as he did to you when dying under the water. He breathed in a stuttered breath feeling the warmth of your palm against his skin.
He smiled wide, relief and elation pouring through him. He gripped you into a hug and held you tight, before pushing you back to look at you sternly.
"Never sacrifice yourself for me again!" he orders.
"I could say the same to you Huggin" Loki interjected, smiling.
Huggin chuckled, pulling Loki into an embrace too.
His large arms wrapped around both you and Loki. Thor feeling slightly left out, came up from behind and used his muscled arms to surround you all.
"You all make me sick!" Nixie spat, looking at you angrily from the middle of the lake.
You turned and glared at her "Oh fuck off you slimey fish"
"I'm not a fish!" She screamed irritated.
"You have a tail and live in water, you're indeed a fish" Thor boomed, repeating your earlier words.
Everyone chuckled as Thor continued to taunt Nixie. And as they laughed you saw the familiar little red orbs float in the distance.
You look behind everyone and see Kai, hiding within the trees not wanting to be seen.
He smiled at you nervously and hesitantly gave you a small wave. Unsure if you would accept and reciprocate his friendly gesture.
You grinned wide at your friend, and his heart filled seeing you wave back.
You motioned for him to come out of the shadows, to join you in your triumphant celebrations. But he shook his head, deciding instead to stay hidden.
You watched as he slowly walked backwards into the trees. His friendly smile fading away as he completely disappeared within the dense forest.
