I am with you

The last moments of your terrified cry of his name lingered in Loki's consciousness as he sank to his knees.

Explosive wrath energised his muscles and compelled him to get up and charge. His hands extended, and within a second, he had Odin's throat in his grasp. The force of his fury pushed his father against the wall.

Loki stared Odin in the eye as he tightened the grip, "You did this, you pathetic old man!" His voice was filled with hateful malice.

"Stop, Loki!" Begging, Thor grabbed his brother by the shoulders and tried to pry him away from Odin.

Rage gave Loki incredible strength, and even when pulling with all his might, Thor still battled to separate him from Odin. Desperate, he glances over at Huggin and signals for his help.

Huggin hurried to Thor's aid, but Odin was left struggling for air as he used both hands to grasp at Loki's single hand around his throat.

As Odin's eye begins to wet and glaze over, Loki is able to catch a glimpse of himself in the reflection. He took pleasure in viewing his own condescending grin within it, pleased that Odin's expression of horror at the sight of his unholy evil was well justified.

"I could snap your neck father, you could meet an end by my hands right here. No royal burial for you either. The buzzards will pick at your rotting corpse after I impale it on Gungnir, the spear that so recklessly cost me Mina's rescue" It was clear from Loki's tone that he meant every word of his ominous threat, which made it all the more terrifying.

Thor and Huggin pulled harder after hearing his shocking threat, but we're only able to shift him slightly. Thor quickly beckons guards who all rush over to help detach Loki from Odin. Loki cackles menacingly as he's finally moved but Odin was yanked down to the ground as Loki was finally pulled away, Loki only releasing his fingers after Odin tumbles to his knees.

After hearing his alarming warning, Thor and Huggin pulled harder, but we were only able to move him an inch. Guards respond immediately to Thor's signal and hurry over to assist.

Loki chuckles ominously when he is finally pulled away, a smirk resting on his face when Odin is yanked to the ground in the process. His dark, mischievous eyes peer down at his kneeling father, who coughs and sputters as he tries to catch his breath.

Loki laughs aloud, "That is a good look for you, Odinβ€”on your knees before me. Your neck is adorned not with gold but with my clearly visible finger printsβ€”bruised truly is your color."

Thor let go of Loki and raced to his father, picking him up off the ground.

"No longer on my side brother? You said you would support me in my plan. I see that was just empty words judging by your actions moments ago" Loki has turned his wrath towards Thor.

Thor looks at Loki hurt, "I believed your strategy was to fightβ€”a rebellionβ€”brothers battling together. Not a sacrifice Loki! I could never support your death! I will die for you, or die together fighting if that was the plan. But I could never let your end be by your own bladeβ€”father was wrong, but so were you. You were wrong to give up on Mina"

The mere mention of your name brought Loki to a crushing paralyses of sadness, and as his rage subsided, he whispered your name, remembering your beautiful face with startling clarity. That one he memorised a few moments ago.

All of his feelingsβ€”anger, grief, and fearβ€”came out in the form of tears, leaving his eyes red and watery.

Loki, sobbing uncontrollably, begs, "Help me get her back brother"

Thor witnessed Loki's transformation from a mighty, angered god to a helpless child, withdrawn within himself out of despair and abandonment. He was once again the abused boy pitted against Munnin by himself. He recalled how Loki fought alone back then, with no protection, and no one to save him.

This time, he won't let him go into battle by himself.

Loki had saved him years before, and now it was Thor's duty to fight and spare him from the misery of battling alone. You needed rescuing, and he was resolved to assist Loki in bringing you back, regardless of the hardship they face.

Thor let go of Odin's arm and strutted towards his brother. He placed his hand on Loki's shoulder and firmly said, "I am with you brother, with you no matter how tough the trials and tribulations of this rescue will be."

Another strong hand patted Loki on the back, and he heard, "I'm too with you Loki, I will help you retrieve Mina." Turning his head, Loki meets Huggin's gaze.

At the same time, the three formidable men direct their attention to Odin. Huggin and Thor appear to be pleading with him, but Loki's stare suggests that he is daring Odin to provoke him further by refusing to help.

"Munnin cannot hide for long, I know the whereabouts of my ravens. He will need to be constantly on the move to not be caught. His energy will deplete and he will tire, it is then we will strike" Odin declares.

Odin made his way over to where they were standing, despite the fact that he was still reeling from the attack that Loki had launched against him. Loki watched with suspicion as his father placed a wary palm on his shoulder, seemingly not with malice nor in an attempt to establish superiority but rather as a gentle hand of support.

But Loki didn't buy it. Not one second. Yet he went along with Odin's mock pretence of being a supporting father, as he needed his aid in finding Munnin.

Odin responded, "I am with you, Loki," his words almost sounding sincere.

A stunned silence pervaded the room and in a moment of surprise, Thor bear-hugged all three men, his expression alight with joy as he took in the family reconciliation.

"Now all we need is mother and this family will be united!" Thor booms with a great big smile.

Loki, uncomfortable with his first group hug, wiggled out of it, prompting Thor to frown, at which point Loki asked, "Where is Mother?" He inquires in a puzzled tone.

"Ah, yes, you have been on Midgard unaware of Mother's absence from Asgard. She has been gone quite some time, training new healers in seidr magic. We've been told not to disturb her time in the wetlands of Fensalir unless it's grave. Or as she put it, "do not disturb me unless Odin himself, along with every male warrior, has attempted to remedy your woeful problems." She clearly knows the issues that arise are almost always battle-related." Thor says amusingly.

"Invoking Frigga is unnecessary. We Asgardians are the epitome of manhood: the pinnacle of nobility, power, intelligence, and honour." Odin puffed up his chest, declaring that he would have no negotiations on the matter.

Both Thor and Odin nodded in agreement; they didn't want to bother Frigga unless the situation was extremely dire. But Huggin's uneasy throat clearing drew everyone's attention, and now he began backing away from the group in a worried manner as they regard him suspiciously.

With a look of panic on his face, Odin yells, "What have you done?"

Loki smiled when he noticed his father becoming irritated since he suspected Huggin had done something without his consent.

"I've already called upon queen Frigga, she is on route as we speak" Huggin said, trying hard to hide his anxiousness.

"Oh Huggin, how very mischievous of you" Loki adds with a devious grin.

"Aye, it appears our newly acquired brother is similar to you Loki," Thor quips cynically.

Huggin's eyes widen when the word "brother" is used. He doesn't express it, but the prospect of belonging to a family makes his heart skip a beat.

"That's not a bad thing at all, Thor. I am the worthier half, after all," Loki jokes.

"My trusty hammer, Moljnir, begs to differ"

"Well, I suppose as we are three, there is no longer half but thirds, and clearly my abilities outweigh both of you, dear brothers..." Huggin can't help but crack a grin at his boldness.

The trio of men stood there, their squinting gazes flitting from one to the next. But the faux hostility and awkward silence were finally broken by a burst of laughter.

Huggin thought of you as they laughed, wishing he could tell you how you had lifted him out of his darkness with laughter. But his happy moment was being eaten away by his regret that you weren't here to share in his joy. He knew this welcome to the family would never have happened had it not been for you.

He casts a glance towards Loki, who isn't joining in with the hilarity but is instead forcing a smile. Huggin was aware that Loki was thinking about you, and he understood how tough it is for him to find humour when his entire world has been taken away from him.

"I don't know why you're laughing! Frigga is coming, your mother is arriving any moment!β€”Quickly fix the golden doorβ€”guards, tidy up!" Odin issues a frenzied order.

"A bit too late for that my beloved husband, I have already arrived to witness this carnage" Frigg glared at Odin as she entered the room.

"Ah, my queen, welcome home! May I say you look absolutely ravishing, is that a new dress?" He smiles nervously, "Oh, and don't you worry about the door, it will be fixed in just a moment"

With a single lift of her finger, Odin abruptly stopped talking. With little effort, a quick flick of her palm caused the massive golden door to fly free from the palace walls and rest back onto its hinges on the doorframe. Once more becoming a fully functioning door.

"Leave it to a woman to do a man's job; it's much quicker and properly done," Frigga exclaims.

Her pupils dilate in response to the unexpected appearance of Loki. She hastily makes her way over to him and immediately envelops him in a tight hug, cradling his face with both of her hands.

"Oh my sweet son, how I've missed you. It's been far too long." She flits her attention to both Thor and loki and asks, "How are you both doing? I'm so sorry that I've been occupied in Fensalir for many years."

"Are you not aware motherβ€”not aware of anything that has happened recently?" Loki asked incredulously.

Frigga's expression darkened, and she turned a sombre gaze on Odin "What have you done now? Waged another needless war I guessβ€”who do I need to visit to help make amends this time?" The displeasure in Frigga's voice was palpable.

Loki stares mournfully into his mother's eyes as he says, "The only war he waged was against my heart; my love for a women."

Frigga examines Loki's face and notices the pain that he's obviously been through. Without having to listen to explanations, she beckons her forehead closer; her seidr touch can sense what has gone on. Loki leans into hers and allows her access to probe within his usually guarded mind.

Frigga exclaimed in shock when she took it all in, and at that very moment, her contemptuous glare fell upon Odin.

"When did you become the All-father of no sense! Your wisdom clearly ran away with the better eyeball" She scoffed at him with derision. "Clearly the only member of this family that still have it all together is Huggin."

Frigga walks over to Huggin and takes his hand in hers.

"You were correct to summon me, and I see through Loki's consciousness that you have been welcomed into the family."

She turned to address both Loki and Thor, "Let us hope that this son can take his siblings off of the foolish path when they behave out of order." She zones in on Loki, "Really Loki, changing midgardian laws and enacting your own punishments. And you Thor," she looks at Thor equally as angry, "hunting your own brother instead of coming to me!"

"But mother, I was just following ordersβ€”" Thor argues. But she silences his whining with another raise of her finger.

"And Odin, my dear husband. Did you not see the signs that were so clearly in front of you? Even with the eye of wisdom it seems you are completely oblivious. Of course Loki would revenge his lover should you split them."

"But my vision, her nameβ€”the demise!"

Frigga rolls her eyes as Odin tries to explain his reasonings behind the cruelty.

As she proclaims, "I am with you too, my son," Frigga tenderly caresses Loki's hand with a kind, nurturing smile. But her expression soon hardens, and she states with powerful resolve, "We band together and plot a rescue plan. We will find her."
