"This is the Lockwood well," Cordelia spoke as she and Stefan made their way over, "This is where Mason put it?" Stefan nodded before saying, "This is where Bonnie said it was." Cordelia walked up to the edge of the well, she tilted her head and looked at Stefan. "What's the plan?" Cordelia asked him. "I go in and you stay out of danger," Stefan told her, Cordelia rolled her eyes but didn't argue his point. Stefan pulled the lock off of the iron grate before removing it, he turned on the flashlight and pointed it down into the well. Stefan moved to climb up onto the edge of the well when Cordelia stopped him. "I don't know about this, Stefan. Maybe I should go," Cordelia told Stefan.
"No way, Cori. I know you can handle yourself but this... it's too risky and I'm not facing your mother," Stefan told her, the blonde smiled slightly at that. Since she told her mother everything, Liz had pulled Stefan aside and given him a warning that she knew how to dispose of Vampires if he hurt Cordelia again; And he didn't doubt that. "Be careful, please," Cordelia asked him, he smiled softly at her before leaning over and kissing her forehead. "I'll only be down there for a minute," Stefan assured her before he climbed onto the edge and jumped down into the well, Cordelia watched anxiously as the splash echoed through the well.
Stefan looks down at his arm and sees vapor rising around where the water touched him, his hands and arms burning. He pressed himself against the wall of the well, shouting out in pain. "Cordelia!!" Stefan screamed out, the tingle through Cordelia's body was not the same nice feeling she got at his touch. "Stefan!" Cordelia called out to him. "Vervain!" Stefan called back at Cordelia whose eyes went white, she focused on the large chains by the well and pushed her energy into them. The chain began to lift from the ground and over the edge of the well just as Caroline showed up. "What's going on!?" Caroline asked panicked noticing the fearful and pained expression on her sisters face.
"Stefan's in the well and its filled with vervain," Cordelia told her twin before climbing over the edge using the chain to climb down to Stefan. Not too long after, Bonnie and Elena came running as they caught up to the older Forbes that had run off hearing her sister screamed out. "What's going on? You took off in a blur!" Bonnie exclaimed while Elena stood silent. "Stefan's in the well, Cori's gone down to help him," Caroline answered as she watched her sister skilfully climbed down the chain into the well; all those lessons of rock climbing were paying off. "Is he okay?" Elena asked as she stepped forward, Bonnie and Caroline glanced at Elena who was frowning.
Once Cordelia reached the bottom of the well, she dropped in and ignored how cold the water felt and instead focused on wrapping and linking the chain to help Stefan out of the well. "It's gonna be okay, Stefan. I promise," Cordelia whispered as she brushed her fingers across his face, he leaned into her touch. "Pull him up!" Cordelia ordered her sister, Caroline moved quickly to pull Stefan up from the water. Cordelia looked around with the flashlight, she wouldn't leave without the moonstone. "Cori? Ready for you!" Caroline called out once Bonnie and Elena got Stefan out of the well and leaning against the side of it; Elena brushing the side of his face despite him leaning away from her touch.
"Hold on, I gotta find the stone!" Cordelia called back as she groped around the cracks in the wall hoping to find the stone. "Hurry, Cori!" Caroline shouted. Cordelia found a small wooden box and pulled it out, she sighed however, as a few coral snakes appeared clearly as something to deter anyone from stealing the moonstone but she wasn't affected by the sight of them as she stayed calm and tied the chain around herself. "Bring me up, Care!" Cordelia called up to her twin, Caroline didn't hesitate to pull her sister from the well. The moment that she was out of the well, she rushed over to Stefan and dropped to her knees in front of him; Bonnie and Elena moving aside.
"Hey, it's gonna be okay," Cordelia promised as Caroline handed over her jacket, Cordelia used it to dry off her arm before holding it to Stefan's mouth. "Drink, Stefan. You need too," Cordelia told him, he blinked his eyes opened and looked into her eyes before leaning forward and biting down on her wrist. Elena lowered her eyes at the action, she could never trust Stefan that much after seeing the loss of control he had in the past ─ Cordelia trusted him with her life. "I got the stone, Stefan. Everything will be okay, I'm sure of it," Cordelia assured Stefan as he finished drinking from her wrist, he offered her blood to heal from the bite; she smiled as he locked eyes with her.

Mystic Falls' Masquerade Ball was a popular event for the small town, it was a time where Cordelia would let Caroline doll her up and treat her like her own personal Barbie doll. And so, Cordelia sat in front of her vanity as Caroline tied her hair back into a low bun with two strands framing her face. Her make-up was soft with wings that were sharp and perfect after three tries almost leaving Caroline frustrated and the dress she was gonna be wearing sat on her bed. It was a purple strapless gown that had been specially made just for Cordelia, it had two parts to it. The large skirt was an addition that could be removed turning it into a knee length dress rather than a ball gown and she absolutely adored the design.
"Alright, time for the dress!" Caroline said as she clapped her hands happily. She was already wearing her dress for the Masquerade Ball, the tight-fitted red dress was perfect for her; her hair curled and make-up done in a soft natural way. Caroline helped her sister into the gown and grinned wide seeing the final design, she handed over the purple mask that matched the lace design on the dress. "Now we better get going before we're late," Caroline told Cordelia, the two had parts to play in trapping Katherine during the ball. Elena wasn't going and Alaric was on duty to keep her home while the others did their part.
Angela had managed to threaten Caroline, though the wannabe Katherine failed to realise that she wasn't intimidating and so the older Forbes had told Cordelia and the Salvatore's straight away. And so, with Bonnie's help, they were able to set up a trap for Katherine. "Let's get going," Cordelia told Caroline and the two walked down the stairs, they were attending the ball together. "Oh, you girls look beautiful," Liz spoke as she looked at the two, tears in her eyes as she snapped a few pictures of them. "Okay, let's get going then," Liz told them noticing the impatient looks she was getting. Liz was driving them and attending in her uniform rather than a dress or suit.

Caroline and Cordelia waved to their mother before walking towards the doors, they shared a look when a certain blond in a suit approached them. "Ladies, you look stunning tonight," Samuel spoke as he stood in his suit, his eyes locking on Caroline who smiled, bashful. "My sister could use company," Cordelia spoke up with a smirk, Samuel held his arm out to the older Forbes who accepted it and walked inside with him. Cordelia made her way onto the stairs catching the attention of Stefan and Damon, the two brothers smiled at the sight of her in the purple dress. She smiled at them until someone else stepped into her view, they smirked at her.
"Care to dance?" Katherine asked Cordelia, the blonde smirked before accepting Katherine's outstretched hand. "You know, if you want to play the part of Elena, you shouldn't dance with me," Cordelia expressed as they approached the dance floor together. "Elena's little spat with you will fade in time. You seem to be just a little too... lovable," Katherine replied as they began dancing together, the Salvatore's watching closely. "Why did you want to dance with me, Kitty?" Cordelia asked the Vampire. "I want to know what the boys have planned," Katherine answered her with a slight glare. "I don't know. Doubt they have anything planned," Cordelia replied nonchalantly.
Katherine's grip on Cordelia's hand and waist tightened making the blonde wince in pain, her face scrunched up to prove it. "I'll ask once more," Katherine seethed, "What do they have planned?" Cordelia continued to play coy, "No idea, Katherine. But you should be more polite." Katherine went to tighten her grip again when Stefan grabbed her arm, "Care for a dance?" Katherine smiled flirtatiously at Stefan before accepting his offer. Damon approached Cordelia and began dancing with her, "Are you okay?" Cordelia nodded with a deep breath, she could see the desperation in Katherine's eyes ─ She needed to find out what had Katherine Pierce so scared.

"Someone is dead, we need to call it off," Stefan told Damon and Cordelia. "No," Cordelia replied stunning both brothers which made her sigh, "Look, am I sad that Aimee was a casualty, of course I am. But we can't call it off. We have to do this." Stefan frowned while Damon stood with Cordelia, he nodded his head and accepted what they were saying. With the plan in motion, Jeremy approached Katherine telling her that the brother's would meet her by the lake. Then it was Caroline's part, she was snatched up by Katherine and began playing the role of sad and fearful until she lured Katherine into the room that Bonnie had trapped. However, Elena had shown up and pulled Jeremy aside with Bonnie outside.
Cordelia had removed the large skirt of her gown turning it into a knee length skirt, placing the large skirt into Tyler's room knowing she could pick it up the next day. As Cordelia was walking, she ran into Caroline who was grinning about her success until a sharp pain echoed through Cordelia's body, she dropped to her knees in the hall and Caroline rushed up to her with wide eyes. "What's happening?" Caroline exclaimed with wide eyes as blood began dripping from Cordelia's shoulder. "Linked... Katherine..." Cordelia whispered through the pain, she pushed herself up and had Caroline help her out of the house before they were seen.
Jeremy looked up from helping Elena who was also in pain, he frowned seeing Cordelia affected by the link as well. "Witch, Bonnie... another witch... linked to Katherine," Cordelia explained to Bonnie who nodded knowing what she needed to do. Caroline rushed off to warn Stefan and Damon about the link while Cordelia sat down on the bench and began chanting, she reached out and grabbed Elena's hand in her own with a slight whimper. Jeremy watched as Cordelia's hand was glowing red, he furrowed his brows watching as Elena healed and no longer felt the pain. The two Gilbert's looked at Cordelia who groaned in pain as another wound appeared on her but not Elena.
"Cori?" Jeremy moved over to her, he squatted down in front of her and applied pressure to the worst wound she had while Elena moved to her side and began applying pressure to the wound in her shoulder. "You helped me?" Elena questioned the blonde. "I'm not a monster, Elena.... we've never really been on the same page but... I'm tired now... I can't fight with you over nothing," Cordelia told Elena who looked down, she didn't know how to feel about Cordelia Forbes. "Thank you," Elena whispered to Cordelia who smiled back through the pain, "And... I don't blame you. About Stefan. If you two... want to be together, you should. Not that you need permission." Cordelia huffed a laugh, "Look at us being mature, huh?" Elena laughed too while Jeremy smiled at the two.
The pain fades only for something else to snap in her mind, Cordelia leaned over and held her chest before looking up with white eyes. "Tyler..." Cordelia breathed out, she looked at Jeremy who nodded and rushed into the house in search for the teen who had just triggered his curse. Bonnie handed Lucy ─ the other witch ─ the moonstone and the woman approached the doorway into the trapped room where she handed over the moonstone. The moment that Katherine grabbed the moonstone, she began coughing and gasping for air. "Wait, the girls!" Stefan exclaimed. "Elena's fine, the Starlight siphoned the spell from her. I broke the spell on the Starlight," Lucy assured them, apologising for her involvement.

Cordelia looked out at the lake as Stefan approached her, "Are you okay?" Cordelia turned to him with a small smile, "Yeah, I'm alright. Uh, I know we had plans to watch movies tonight but... Elena and I are gonna hang out." Stefan raised a brow at that making Cordelia laugh to herself, "Yeah, uh... if you told me months ago that I would be hanging out with Elena Gilbert, I would have laughed in your face but... I don't know, I feel like we hated each other for no real reason other than different views." Stefan nodded at her words, he sighed before hugging Cordelia, she wrapped her arms around him and smiled. "That path of forgiveness might not be long if you keep treating me like this," Cordelia teased.
"That's part of the plan," Stefan told her before pulling back, "I was thinking... maybe a proper date between us." Cordelia thought for a moment before remembering what Elena said, "It's a little too soon. I want to respect Elena and you did hurt me, so... keep working the way you have and you just might get that date." Stefan accepted that and stepped back from her, he looked over at Elena who smiled slightly. "Have fun," Stefan told the blonde before watching her leave with Elena, the two were talking about their past rivalry, laughing over the fact that they had been feuding over a lot of nothings and a few things they had to talk deeply about.
"Yeah, Jeremy, I've got my car. And yes, Cordelia is with me, we are genuinely going to go home and watch movies," Elena told Jeremy as Cordelia walked by her side, the blonde laughed as Elena looked her way with a subtle eye roll. "Yeah, you can drive her home, see you later," Elena hung up on Jeremy and turned to talk to Cordelia when two masked men came up behind them and covered their mouths, the one that grabbed Cordelia stuck a needle into her neck that caused her to scream, the sound muffled before her eyes began fluttering closed; Elena's panicked expression was the last thing she saw before her world faded to black.

Rosemary Speaks. . .
Okay, so for those who have seen Descendants 2, the gown is the purple dress that Mal wears when shifting back from her dragon form. Her hair and make-up like the gif above the chapter.
And of course, I wasn't originally going to write Cordelia and Elena becoming... semi-friends but it wrote itself honestly.
Plus, with what I have planned, Elena isn't really an enemy that Cordelia needs.
But I would love to know what you thought of this chapter?
I know... I'll probably disappear for a while again now that I've posted these. My computer is out of order which leaves me typing on my phone instead... so bare with me!
Thoughts, Suggestions or Questions?
See you in the next chapter!
P.S: Elijah arrives next chapter <3
