Cordelia's hearing returned first, a ringing echoed through her ears before she tried to open her eyes with no success. Cordelia focused her hearing on the floorboards first, they creaked under the weight of something ─ or someone. Flashes of being kidnapped played through her mind resulting in her eyes snapping open remembering that Elena had been taken as well. The blonde's gaze landed on Elena who was unconscious with a man next to her, he brushed her hair aside and whispered, "Just one taste." Cordelia's hand tingled as she waved her finger causing the man to soar away from her and hit the wall. The action sent searing pain through her body, she definitely wouldn't be using magic again in a while.
"Trevor!" A woman exclaimed as she rushed over to him and helped him up. "Cordelia?" Elena groggily spoke before pushing off of the couch and stumbling over to the blonde that was tied down by ropes in a chair. "Elena, are you okay?" Cordelia asked the brunette with genuine concern and worry in her eyes that made Elena feel guilt for all the times she was harsh to the younger Forbes. "I think so. Are you?" Elena asked as she moved to untie her only for the woman to grab her wrist and pull her back. "That's our safeguard," The woman warned as she shoved Elena onto the couch and looked towards Trevor as he left the room with a bruised ego.
"What do you want with us?" Elena asked the pixie cut brunette. "Oh my God, you look just like her," She replied once she finally looked at the Gilbert girl. "But I'm not. Please, whatever you--" Elena was cut off harshly by the woman, "Be quiet!" Cordelia watched the two closely as the familiar burn continued through her body, she had never felt anything like this before; it was like something was locking down her magic. "But I'm not Katherine. My name is Elena Gilbert; you don't have to do this to us!" Elena pleaded with the woman. "I know who you are ─ who you both are. And I said be quiet," The woman replied to Elena's pleas. "What do you want?" Elena asked but the woman slapped her efficiently knocking Elena unconscious.
"Why does it burn?" Cordelia breathed out catching the woman's attention, she turned to the blonde and knelt in front of her. "You're a beautiful girl, aren't you?" The woman asked rhetorically, "Seems right for you to be destined for a beast... the classic beauty and the beast cliche." Cordelia looked into the woman's eyes, "Why does it burn?" She didn't care for the woman's words, she just wanted to know why she felt so much pain coursing through her and blocking her magic. "It's Mistletoe. Toxic in large doses for Starlights but small doses are like vervain to vampires," The woman explained, "It's blocking your magic so you don't escape or kill us." Cordelia glared at the woman as she left the room.

Meanwhile, Caroline was walking downstairs looking at her phone when a knock on the door caught her attention. The older Forbes opened the door to see Tyler standing before her, she swallowed with uncertainty as the last they had seen each other, the boy had triggered his curse. "Hey Tyler. I thought you and Jeremy were meeting this morning to talk about the... first full moon?" Caroline asked him with furrowed brows. "I was hoping that maybe Cordelia was here. She promised to help me if this ever... well, happened," Tyler replied to her as he looked towards the stairs searching for the blonde who always managed to keep him calm and happy.
"She stayed with Elena last night," Caroline told Tyler who raised his brows in disbelief as everyone knew about the two teenagers' dislike for one another. "I know. But they seemed to have bonded and maybe, it's a good thing," Caroline said optimistically. "If I drive, will you come with me?" Tyler asked the older Forbes who nodded, closing the front door behind her and following the new werewolf in town to his car. "Cori said that werewolf bites are fatal to vampires," Tyler said after some silence. "Not a good conversation starter," Caroline told Tyler, the two shared a laugh before Caroline sighed, "I can't believe we've reached a point in our lives where Werewolves and Vampires are completely normal topics."
It wasn't long til they reached the Gilbert residence, Jeremy was walking out the door when they pulled up and he waved to them as he approached the car. "Hey, is Cordelia and Elena still here?" Caroline asked after rolling the passenger window down. "Uh, no. I completely forgot they were having a sleepover, it's not something normal," Jeremy responded with a slight chuckle before sobering up in worry, "Elena's room is completely untouched. I just thought that maybe she had been at Stefan's." Caroline shook her head at that, "No way. Stefan and Elena are completely done now. Which means they didn't show up." The three shared worried looks before Jeremy climbed into the car and they headed to school in search for Stefan.
Upon reaching the school and locating Stefan, they all came to the conclusion that Elena and Cordelia were missing. And so, after calling Damon, they all met in Alaric's classroom to discuss their plan and hopefully, Bonnie could locate them with her magic. "This has Katherine written all over it," Stefan said to the others, he was angry for not checking on the two girls; he blamed himself for being distracted and careless. "Katherine's in the tomb. Trust me; I'm the one who shut her in," Damon assured Stefan, he was worried about the two but he knew that Katherine wasn't behind it. "Did you?" Stefan questioned, he didn't mean to doubt his brother but his mind was reeling about his ex and the girl her hurt ─ the one he truly wanted.
"Did I what, Stefan?" Damon challenged. The two may have healed a lot of old wounds but there was still many years of healing left. "Well, I know the hold that Katherine has on you," Stefan accused. "She's in the tomb, period. End of story," Damon replied firmly, looking directly into his little brother's eyes as he remembered what Katherine had said. "But she did say something to me right before I shut her in. I thought she was lying," Damon told them, he had a right to believe that as Katherine was indeed someone who would say anything to save herself. "What did she say?" Jeremy asked, he was worried about his sister and best friend.
"Elena and Cordelia are in danger," Damon told them with a slight shrug. "What? And you didn't think you should ask her to elaborate?" Stefan questioned his older brother with a look of disbelief. "Everything she says is a lie. How am I supposed to know if she's gonna start spouting out the truth?" Damon exclaimed to Stefan. "He has a point there," Tyler added with a shrug, Damon motioned at the werewolf with a 'see' look on his face. "We have to go talk to her," Stefan expressed immediately. Before anyone could say anything, Tyler doubled over in pain and looked up revealing golden eyes causing everyone to step back from him. "Uh, what are you doing?" Jeremy asked the Lockwood teen.
"It's... not me..." Tyler groaned out as a voice began echoing within his mind, "It's Cori... she and Elena have been kidnapped... she doesn't know where or why... but she can't use magic... she's been poisoned... but Elena's okay..." Jeremy let out a breath of relief knowing his sister was alive and okay, he trusted that Cordelia would look out for her. But that left him and the others concerned, they knew how far Cordelia would go to protect the ones she cared about and despite the bad blood between them, Cordelia wouldn't let Elena die. They had to move quick before something went wrong or someone got hurt.

When Elena woke up again, she had stumbled over to Cordelia and frowned seeing the girls pale and sweaty appearance. She had purple marks under her eyes and her breathing sounded like a rattle, it was clear that the mistletoe was taken affect with every drop of magic she attempted. "Stop using magic please," Elena pleaded softly, the blonde looked at her with a small smile. "I knew you liked me underneath all that," Cordelia teased in a raspy tone, Elena huffed a small laugh at her comment but the smile faded seeing her state. "Go find out more information, Elena. Everything counts," Cordelia instructed the brunette who seemed hesitant to move. "It's okay, go. I'll be fine," Cordelia assured her.
"How's the girl?" The woman spoke as Elena crept closer, she didn't wish to leave Cordelia in her state but not listening to her wasn't wise. "Still passed out," Trevor replied to her. "You didn't touch her, did you?" The woman asked. "Give me some credit," Trevor snapped back in disbelief. "And the mistletoe, huh?" The woman questioned in an angered tone. "I didn't know how strong her magic was so I went for the same dose that was used on the last Starlight we saw," Trevor replied to her before sighing, "So, you called him?" Elena furrowed her brows, she looked back at Cordelia as they had been certain that she was the only Starlight since her ancestor, Clara Forbes.
"No, I called one of his contacts. You know how this works. Besides, they weren't too willing to believe me about the Starlight," The woman expressed to him. "No one ever believes the stories about Starlights, Rose," Trevor told the woman. "Look, you know how this works," Rose reminded Trevor. "Did you or did you not get the message to Elijah?" Trevor questioned her. "They say he got it," Rose assured him as she moved around cleaning up. "Wonderful and what?" Trevor asked further, he wanted to know more about the situation. "So that's it, Trevor. He either got it or he didn't. We just have to wait," Rose remarked in reply.
"Look, it's not too late. We can leave them here. We don't have to go through with this," Trevor pleaded with Rose. "I'm sick of running!" Rose snapped back at him. "Yeah? Well, running keeps us from dying," Trevor argued with her as Elena continued moving closer to the room they were in. "Elijah's old school. If he accepts our deal, we're free," Rose reassured her companion as Cordelia closed her eyes, her head was pounding uncomfortably as she tried to communicate with Tyler. She had been reading more about Starlights in Clara's diary, it told her about the strong bond between Starlights and their chosen wolf companions.
Elena accidentally steps on a squeaky board catching Trevor and Rose's attention, both look up at the brunette but Rose is the one to step forward. "You! There's nothing around here for miles. If you think you're getting out of this house, you're tragically wrong. Understand?" Rose told Elena sternly, it was clear she wouldn't let the two teenage girls go anytime soon. "Who's Elijah?" Elena asked hoping to get the information that Cordelia wants. "He's your worst nightmare," Rose replied with a fearful expression, Elena shivered uncomfortably at the pixie girls words and didn't dare underestimate the mentioned man.

Elena continued to probe Rose for answers regarding Elijah and their reasoning for kidnapping her and Cordelia. In the process of this, Cordelia was resting as much as possible hoping that the mistletoe would burn out of her system a lot quicker. And the Salvatore brothers were on their way to save both girls thanks to Bonnie being able to locate Elena's whereabouts ─ well, the large area she was in. Tyler stuck by Caroline's side to reassure the older Forbes that Cordelia would be okay however, both of them felt as though something was completely off with Cordelia and that left them worried. Bonnie and Jeremy were at the Gilbert home awaiting Elena's return.
Elena had returned from her questionnaire session with Rose, she explained everything she had learned about The Originals and how Rose and Trevor were delivering them off to Elijah who was one of the first vampires in existence. Plus, she mentioned that the reason Cordelia had been taken wasn't because she was in the wrong place at the wrong time but because she was also being handed over as apparently, there was another Original who was searching for Starlights ─ for what? They didn't know. Just that a lot of them didn't make it out alive. And Rose had told Elena about how she and Trevor helped Katherine essentially marking themselves for eternity.
Elena sat on the couch and furrowed her brows as she heard something crumple under her weight, she reached out and grabbed a crumpled sheet of paper. Elena opened it and smiled seeing what was written down; 'Stefan and Damon are coming for both of you -B'. She got up and showed Cordelia the paper knowing better than to say it out loud with Vampires listening in, the blonde smiled with a sigh of relief. The two girls were silent for a while, it was peaceful and Elena was glad that Cordelia's breathing had eased and returned to normal again. Both were startled when Trevor rushed into the room, "He's here! This was a mistake!"
Rose stepped into the room and looked directly at Trevor as Elena and Cordelia watched them. "No, I told you I would get us out of this. You have to trust me," Rose tried to assure her dear friend. "No! He wants me dead, Rose!" Trevor shouted back fearfully. "He wants them more," Rose reminded him, motioning to the two teens. "I can't do this. You give them to him, he'll have mercy on you but I need to get out of here!" Trevor panicked. "Hey! What are we?" Rose asked him with a stern look. "We're family, forever," Trevor muttered back. Cordelia felt her heart break at that, the two just wanted to be free and she could empathise with that.
A knock on the door echoed through the abandoned home, the sound caused Trevor to cower. "You're scared," Elena pointed out the obvious. "Stay here with them and don't make a sound," Rose ordered her only family before she left the room to open the door for her guest. "Will he kill you?" Cordelia asked softly, Trevor looked at her with teary eyes and nodded his head. The fear that pooled his gaze pulled at her heartstrings, she frowned and lowered her gaze as Trevor approached and began undoing the ropes. "Look out for Rose for me," Trevor whispered to the blonde before stepping away. Cordelia pushed up off of the chair and stumbled to Elena who caught her and held her close.

Rosemary Speaks. . .
THANK YOU FOR 100K VIEWS!!!
The love and support on this books means so much to me. I honestly never expected it to be so popular (despite the fandom) and it means so much that so many enjoy it.
I'm my own worst critic, so I'm always second guessing everything and then your comments, votes and reads remind me that it's not so terrible.
So thank you!!

Also, what is this switch up lmao
How are y'all feeling about Elena and Cordelia's bonding? It wasn't my original plan but... Cordelia is writing herself at this point!
And a semi cliffhanger for Elijah!
I was going to have his actual appearance in this chapter buttttt.... I'm a tease!
A lot of things are changing from canon so understand it is done deliberately!
Thoughts, Suggestions or Questions?
See you in the next chapter!
