CONFIRMED: TVD STARS NINA DOBREV AND IAN SOMERHALDER SHOCK SPLIT!

It's official folks, our favorite couple has finally shut the door on their two year relationship. 

Not only were Dobrev and Somerhalder in a relationship off-screen, but their characters on the hit TV show, The Vampire Diaries also showed the two in a romantic entanglement during season 4 of the show.

Rumors have surfaced that Somerhalder requested that his character's (Damon Salvatore) love interest be changed and played by Hope Riley who plays Evelyn Austin. Julie Plec, executive producer, of the show had this to say:

"Of course,  I am absolutely devastated to hear the news. The two had such an amazing connection both on and off-screen, but I think in order to grow as people they need time apart. As for the rumors on love interest swaps, I can confirm that this is not true. Damon and Evelyn's relationship was on the cards from the moment she blew back into town and that is all I have to say, thank you."
