WESLEY AND JOHANNA DIDN'T KNOW WHETHER OR NOT TO SAY SOMETHING. Since the guards brought Arya back, she had been dead silent, more than before. It was starting to worry them but they didn't know if it was their place to talk to her. Peeta was gone so there was no one there to physically comfort her. Johanna wished she could be near the woman but it wasn't possible. Their cages were almost impossible to get out of.
Johanna thought Arya would be able to handle being in the Capitol but it seemed Snow may have gotten to her. It was hard to keep your mind stable though, to keep them from getting in. But if even the strongest of them couldn't fight against it, what did that say for the rest of them? She knew Wesley was worried, especially with the way Arya's eyes seemed pin pointed. They had drugged her. With what? They didn't know.
Wesley wanted to get out. He wanted to get them all out but whenever he even thought about it, he couldn't figure out any way to do it. They were almost never all together anymore and if even just one of them wasn't there, that would mean they would have to leave them behind. He didn't want to leave anyone behind. Especially because it would just increase the odds of the remaining people being killed.
But they couldn't plan for anything. If they were to get out, they would just have to take a chance and pray that it worked out for them. But when did anything ever work out for them. Wesley tried to reach his hand through the cages to comfort Arya but she was too far away. She was laid on the ground, curled up but her eyes were just on the wall in front of her.
They couldn't get her to tell them what happened to her, what the guards did. They knew it wasn't anything good though. They also knew that Peeta would go mental when he found out. They didn't need him getting hurt too though. Both Johanna and Wesley understood why Peeta wanted to protect her, but it was just putting himself in more danger.
Johanna turns her head toward Arya, staring at the woman. A sigh leaves her lips as she just fiddles with her fingers. She could hear Arya muttering something to herself but couldn't figure out what it was. It was no mystery that Snow was trying to break her, trying to make her go crazy. Then she wouldn't be a threat anymore. At least not toward him, more toward the people she cared about. Johanna just didn't know how far they had actually gotten, and how much Arya believed the lies they were putting into her head.
And Arya was fighting like hell to not let her memories be distorted. But it was not easy. Especially with the way they kept drugging her and injecting her with tracker jacker venom. It was hard to tell the difference between lies and reality. Even with the people who have been her life for so long. She couldn't figure out if what she thought about them was real or the thoughts that Snow had put into her head.
She thought she was brave, she thought she could fight against them, be tough. But maybe she wasn't as strong as she thought she was. Maybe all her strength was physical, that she didn't have the capabilites to be able to fight off the mind games. Arya kept trying to mutter 'real' facts about herself, trying to cement them in her mind. But by this point, she didn't know whether or not she was telling herself things that had happened,
Or if she was telling herself the awful lies.

ARYA WAS STILL LAYING ON THE GROUND WHEN THE GUARDS HAD BROUGHT PEETA BACK. By that time Johanna and Wesley had been taken. Where? She had no idea. She could barely move. Her mind trying desperately to rid any thoughts of her time with the guard. Arya never wanted them to be able to get under her skin, never being able to break her. But it seemed that they had cracked the surface. And from there, it would just keep cracking until there was nothing left.
"Where is everyone else?" Peeta asks as he looks down at her before bending dow next to the woman. Arya kept her eyes in front of her, mindlessly blinking as a small breathe leaves her lips.
"Gone." She says emotionless.Β Peeta furrows his eyebrows, a bit worried as he places his hand on her arm. He didn't miss the way she flinched at his touch, causing him to withdraw it.
"Gone? What do you mean?" He questions, wanting her to elaborate but she doesnt. She stays silent. "Arya? Are you okay?" Peeta asks her, knowing that the guards has probably tortured her again but it seemed this time it had really took a toll on her.
"He hurt me." Her words were almost inaudible as a tear leaves her eye. Peeta glances toward the door, hoping to not see one of the guards enter. They couldn't even give them two seconds to recover after.
"The guard?" Peeta thought that was who she was talking about because that was the only person they had seen since they had been in the Capitol.
"Matthew." She answers him. This made Peeta confused. Why was she talking about Matthew? And why would the man ever hurt her, if anything, he would die for her. Even kill others for her.
"Matthew? Matthew's here?"He asks her but once again, she's quiet. Peeta didnt know if this was just something she made up or if it's something that happened when she was taken. "You're not making sense, Arya." Peeta admits. Arya just closes her eyes, deciding not to speak anymore.
Peeta let's out a sigh as he sits beside her. He could see that she was losing herself and he hated that. Especially because it seemed Snow was after her more than anyone else. And she was getting the most of the torture. He moves his hand to her shoulder, giving it a comforting squeeze. "I won't let them hurt you anymore, okay?"Β Peeta promises her but all he got in response was a laugh.
She was laughing. It didn't seem like she found anything funny, more ironic. "Hurt me?" Arya asks him, continuing to laugh which just makes Peeta furrow his eyebrows. She seemed out of it, as if not understanding him. "They've done worse than that." She admits, resting her head against the wall. Arya could see the way anger appeared on Peeta's face.
It was clear what she meant. Not only had they messed with her mind, but they had hurt her in other ways that weren't just torture. Peeta wanted to be sick just thinking of the guards taking advantage of her. Especially since she seemed half out of her mind recently. It just made the whole thing worse.
The door opens, the guards walking inside. They were alone, no Johanna or Wesley to be seen. Arya glances at them, seeing the smirk that formed on the guards face as he looked at her. "Snow wants to see you." The man says as he unlocks the door. Peeta stands up instead, blocking her from his view.
"She's not going anywhere with you." He denies, venom in his tone as he glares at the guard. Both of them laugh, amused at Peetas attempt to stop them. The man just shakes his head as he walks toward Peeta.
"Cute of you to think you can stop me." The guard replies, rolling his eyes a bit before moving toward Arya. Arya curls up more, feeling vulnerable under his gaze. "Maybe we can stop and have some fun on the way, huh?" He suggests, the disgusting smirk still lingering on his lips.
Arya flinches against his touch, feeling revolted at the feeling. Peeta sees this and immediately moved toward them, pushing the guard to the ground. "Don't touch her." He snaps, glaring at the guard. It seemed to piss the man off as he gets up from the ground, he just rubs his jaw, a small humorless laugh leaving his lips.
Suddenly a fist collides with Peeta's face causing the man to go stumbling back. Arya gasps, her eyes widening as she sees this. But it doesn't stop Peeta who attacked the guard, repeatedly punching him to the point where they both ended up on the ground. "Peeta!" Arya shouts, she more just wanted to save him for being punished for this.
But he doesn't stop, blood appearing on his knuckles as the other guard runs up behind him and grabs him, pulling him off. Peeta fights against him, pushing the guard against the cage. Laying a punch on him as well, he didn't get as far since the other guard had gotten up and grabbed him from the back, throwing him into the wall. Peeta's head hits it harshly and he groans as he falls toward the floor.
Arya felt her heart fall into her stomach as Peeta laid there, his hand moving to to his head. "You're done for, you hear me?" The guard threatens Peeta, pointing his finger at him. Peeta just coughs the blood out from his mouth. Arya could only sit on the ground, her eyes staring at the ground. "Come on." He says, grabbing a hold of Arya and dragging her out of the cell.
β³β¦
JOHANNA RAISES HER EYEBROWS AS SHE WALKS INTO HER CELL, seeing Peeta in the cell next to her holding a bloody rag to his head. "What happened to you?" She asks curiously, sharing a glance with Wesley who was just as confused as to what had happened to him. Peeta seemed disgruntled though, his eyes staring at the concrete beneath him.
"Nothing." Peeta denies, a grumble in his tone. Wesley glances into his cell, seeing that he was alone.
"Where's Arya?" He asks, a bit worried as to where the woman was. Peeta brings the rag down, a sigh leaving his lips.
"They took her to Snow." Peeta tells them. Wesley instantly becomes concerned, his eyes widening. Going to see Snow was never a good sign.
"Snow? Why does he want her?" He asks but Peeta just shrugs his shoulders, not knowing the reason. "You don't think it's to... kill her, do you?" Wesley says, not really wanting to put that idea onto the table.
"Now who's being negative." Johanna jokes, looking over at him. It was clear he wasn't pleased by her comment.
"Johanna." He scolds. Wesley was really worried and he didn't need her teasing him in this precise moment. "I'm just--" Wesley cuts himself off for a second. "He hasn't asked to see her since we got here." He points out.
"It is weird." Peeta agrees, nodding his head. Johanna let's out a groan.
"Stop, both of you. She'll be fine."
"Seriously, what happened to you?" Wesley asks Peeta, staring at the gaping scratch on the man's forehead.
"Got my head smashed into the wall." Peeta admits as he gestures to the dried blood on the concrete. They both looked a bit surprised for a second.
"Why?" Wesley asks, wondering if it was unprovoked. But Johanna already knew what he did.
"Let me guess, you tried to stop them from taking Arya?" She asks him, crossing her arms against her chest.
"Hey, I got a couple good punches in." Peeta responds, glaring over at her. Johanna just rolls her eyes a bit, a sigh leaving her lips.
"You know, she hates when you do that." She points out but Peeta just shrugs his shoulders.
"I know, I don't care." Peeta denies. He would keep protecting her, even if it meant he got hurt. "Somethings wrong with her." He tells them. Just from the moment today, he could tell that something was off.
"Somethings wrong with all of us." Johanna says with a snort. Wesley glares over at her.
"No, she.. she mentioned Matthew. How he hurt her?" Peeta says, his gaze going to Wesley since he'd know more than anyone having grown up in the same district. "Did he ever hurt her?" He asks the man who immediately shakes his head.
"No. He would never lay a finger on her." Wesley denies. Matthew wouldn't even hurt Arya no matter what. He was her protector.
"Maybe verbally?" Peeta questions, just trying to make sense of it all.
"When? Before she went into the arena they were fine and we haven't seen him since." Johanna points out. It just wouldn't be a logical answer. There was no way that Matthew was here, they would've heard something about it.
Wesley has a thought pop into his head causing his eyes to widen. "It's the venom, it has to be." He states, looking at them. Johanna sighs as she closes her eyes for a moment.
"They're twisting her memories." Johanna says, knowing exactly what he meant by that. Peeta furrows his eyebrows.
"Exactly." Wesley replies.
"Why?" Peeta asks them, wanting to know what Snow could gain by twisting her memories.
"They're obviously not going to kill her." Wesley wants to stay optimistic. Maybe this meant Snow had other plans for her. But Johanna shook her head, thinking something different.
"Or maybe this is Snows way of punishing her." Johanna states. Peeta didnt want to think about it, to think about Arya not having her personality. Was Snow really going to strip her of it all?
"Taking away the people she has left before executing her so she's alone." Peeta says, his mind not wanting to go there but it was the obvious choice. Snow would never let her out of the Capitol. The only reason he was doing all this was so she would suffer before he killed her.
So, she would truly feel isolated from everyone, including herself.

ARYA ENTERS SNOW'S OFFICE, her feet dragging as the guard all but pushes her inside. She glares back at him before slowly walking over to the desk. "Ahh, Ms Ryker. Sit." Snow says with a smirk on his face. It was clear he felt very good about the way he had stripped her down so far. Arya didn't want to give him the satisfaction of knowing he almost broke her, but ir was almost impossible to keep a stone face. "Tea?" He asks her, raising his eyebrow.
"What do you want?" Arya asks, her voice hoarse as she just stares at him. Snow leans forward, placing his arms on his desk.
"I need you to do an interview." Snow tells her. Arya furrows her eyebrows at him.
"Interview?"
"In front of the camera."
"Why?"
"To send to your friends." Snow states as he stares at her. Arya blinks a few times, her mind running in circles trying to understand him.
"I don't have friends." She denies. No one would care if they saw her in a video. Snow couldn't help but smile, tilting his head.
"Oh, now that's not true. Matthew is certainly a big part of your life, is he not?" He asks her, clasping his hands together. Arya was silent.
"Matthew..." She tries to think, nothing coming up. "My minds blurry." She admits, bringing her hand to her head.
"That's okay, I'll tell you what to say." Snow says, leaning back in his chair. "But first, we need to do something about that blood." He points out, gesturing to her skin and clothes. "You can come in now dear." He calls out and after a moment, the door opens. Arya turns her head, seeing a familiar woman walk in. "I'm sure you remember Ciela, from your games." Snow states.
"She-- you were the designer." Arya says as she looks at Ciela. The woman nods her head, trying to hide her pain from Snow as she looks at the brunette.
"I'm sure you missed me." Ciela says, trying to ease the tension but Arya didn't seem too excited to see her.
"Now, take Ms Ryker here and help get her ready for the interview." Snow demands and Ciela nods her head.
Ciela takes Arya to a separate room where she had everything set up. It was silent between them as Arya sat down on the chair. "Arya, are you okay?" It was clear that she was getting to her breaking point and bruises covered her body.
"Do I look okay?" Arya snaps, looking up at her. Ciela sighs as she moves over to the woman beginning to wipe her cuts.
"You know, this interview can do a lot of good." Ciela starts to say, looking around the room to make sure there were no cameras. "We can show the people things they haven't seen." She tells Arya. Arya just looked a bit confused.
"Like what?"
"I don't know, maybe that... things are calmer in the night." Ciela states as she stares down at Arya. Arya didn't understand what she meant though so she just looks back in front of her.Β "Have you seen Xander?" She asks curiously.
"He's alive." Arya answers her. Ciela seemed relieved by it, nodding her head. She smiles, tilting her head.
"You're gonna look so beautiful." She admits as she places a pin in Aryas hair to keep it up. "I'm sure finnick will be in awe." Ciela tells her. Everyone in the Capitol could see the tension between them in the arena. But of course, Arya wasn't thinking about that.
"Finnick's here?" It almost made Arya relieved and she would have been if that hadn't meant that he was also trapped. But Ciela shakes her head.
"No, no. I just mean from where he's watching." There was no doubt that Finnick would see the little interview that Snow was setting up.
"Finnick." Arya mumbles, her eyes void of anything as she just stares. Ciela frowns as she bites the inside of her cheek.
"What did they do to you?" Ciela asks, almost to herself as she stares down at Arya, hurt in her eyes. She understood now that the Capitol was a very cruel place run by a corrupt leader. She always liked Arya and it pained her to see her in this state.
Her eyes go to the pin she had placed in Aryas hair. "You know what? I think I'll leave your hair down." Ciela admits as she reaches over to grab the pin. She glances around discreetly before bending toward Arya. "You like it?" She asks as she places the pin in Arya's hand.
Arya glances at it, her eyebrows furrowed. Ciela just stares at her, giving her a certain look. This was her chance at escape. She could pick the lock whenever it was night and the guards werent around. She was trying to help her. Arya slips it somewhere where the guards won't find it.
"Yeah." Arya responds, nodding her head as a smile forms on her face. But even her smile seemed broken to Ciela. And it killed her to think that the woman would never be the same as when they had first met.

"PEOPLE OF PANEM, we fight! We dare to end this hunger for justice!" Katniss grimaced as the video ends and everyone sits in silence. It was definitely not the best outcome that they could've had for the propaganda video. But what did they expect? She was a fighter, not a performer.
"That was rough." Finnick mumbles, smirking over at Katniss. She just glares at him, narrowing her eyes at the man.
"Shut up." She mouths toward him. Haymitch sighs as he glances toward the group before standing up in front of everyone.
"Madam President, indulge me for a moment, if you would." Haymitch says as he holds out his hands. "Let's all think of one incident where Katniss Everdeen genuinely moved you. Not where you were jealous of her hairstyle, or her dress went up in flames or she made a half decent shot with an arrow. And not when Peeta made you like her." He explains to them and Katniss just furrows her eyebrows. "No, I'd like you all to think of one moment where she made you feel something real." He states.
Effie was the first one to raise her hand.
"When she volunteered for her sister at the reaping." She states with a smile on her face.
"Excellent example." Haymitch states before turning to the board and erasing what was on it. "I hope that wasn't important." He says as he clears his throat. "Okay, what else?" He asks them.
"Oh, when she sang that song, for little rue?" Effie says as she looks around at the group.
"Oh, yeah. Who didn't get choked up at that?" Haymitch mutters as he writes it down. "You know, I like you better effie without all that makeup." He tells her, gesturing over to her.
"Well, I like you better sober."
"When she chose rue as an ally, as well." Beetee adds.
"When Arya, her and Peeta were on the beach." Finnick pipes up making everyone glance over at him. "It was one of the few moments of peace in the games." He mumbles, fiddling with his fingers. Katniss felt a sad smile form on her lips.
"Her and Peeta were throwing sand at each other." Katniss states, her eyes meeting Finnick's gaze. They were both in pain and all they could do was be there for each other and try their best to hope Peeta and Arya will be rescued.
"Now, what do all these have in common?" Haymitch asks them curiously.
"Nobody told her what to do." Gale answers, crossing his arms against his chest.
"Unscripted, yes. So maybe we should just leave her alone." Beetee suggests, looking around.
"And wash her face." Boggs adds. "She's still a girl, you made her look thirty five." Katniss smiles to herself, looking down at the table.
"The opportunities for spontaneity are obviously lacing below ground. So what you're suggesting is we toss her into combat?" Plutarch asks, furrowing his eyebrows but of course Coin shakes her head.
"I can't sanction putting an untrained civilian in battle just for effect. This is not the Capitol." She denies making Matthew let out a scoff. Everyone looks at him, going silent for a moment.
"Right, you just leave people in the Capitol to die." Matthew retorts, glaring over at her. Coin clenches her jaw as she sits up straighter.
"Do you have a problem with how I do things?" Coin asks him curiously, raising an eyebrow at him.
"That's an understatement." He retorts. Finnick glances between them, not wanting to stray from the focus. Maybe if they got this videos out, they could use it as a distraction somehow.
"Let's just focus, okay?" Finnick tells them, not wanting a full blown argument to break out.
"That is exactly what im suggesting. Put her in the field." Haymitch states as he looks over at Katniss.
"No, we can't protect her." Coin denies.
"It has to come from her. That's what people respond to. You want a symbol for the revolution? She cannot be coaxed into it, trust me I know." Haymitch explains to them.
"Maybe there's someplace that's less dangerous." Plutarch suggests.
"District eight. They reported heavy bombing last week. There are no military targets left." Beetee tells them.
"We can't guarantee her safety." Coin tells them with a sigh.
"You'll never be able to guarantee my safety. I wanna go." Katniss pipes up, looking at everyone.
"And if you're killed?" Coin asks as she raises an eyebrow at the girl.
"Make sure you get it on camera." Katniss states with a shrug of her shoulders. At least then they could use it and actually get something done.
"Do we have a plan for the other victors?" Matthew asks, crossing his arms against his chest. He wasn't just going to be brushed off.
"That's not the plan right now." Coin denies, shaking her head. She needed everyone's head on the revolution, not a rescue.
"When is it going to be?" Matthew asks but the woman stays silent. He gets up from his chair. "You left them in that arena to die." He sneers, pointing his finger at her. Coin let's out a deep breath, not understanding what he wants her to do.
"They're in the Capitol." She points out. If she was captured, chances are she had a few more days.
"You and I both know that Snow is killing victors. How long do you think they have?" Matthew asks with a scoff. It was only a matter of time before Snow got rid of them all.
"When we know it's a good time to go in, we'll go." Coin tells him, her tone sharp. Matthew knew she wanted him to stop pushing the subject but he didn't care.
"Right." He says, rolling his eyes. He turns to exit but Katniss stops him.
"Matthew." She didn't want him walking away angry, especially since he would most likely do something stupid and get himself killed.
"I should have pushed more before the arena. Maybe things would've turned out differently. Maybe she wouldn't be in the Capitol." Haymitch says, walking over to the man. He had been wanting to apologize because he knew he needed to. He was just met with a stone cold glare.
"Yeah, you should have." He snaps toward the man. Finnick gets in between them.
"It's not his fault." Finnick denies, placing his hand on Matthew's shoulder but the man harshly shoves it off.
"Don't touch me." Matthew warns him.
"You know that I want to get her out too." Finnick says, keeping his voice calm because he didn't think raising it would get him anywhere with Matthew.
"Why?" Matthew asks, clenching his jaw. "Why are you so hell bent on being apart of this? You two barely talked before the games, don't act like you're all buddy buddy now." He says in a harsh tone. Finnick furrows his eyebrows, a small frown forming.
"I'm not, i just--"
"Why don't you just leave me the hell alone?" Matthew snaps, pushing the man away from him. Finnick doesn't do anything but stand there. Before anyone can say anything else, the bright light on the screen turns and the Capitol seal is shown.
"Good evening, people of panem." It was Caesar Flickerman. This meant another interview. "I hope everyone is having a wonderful night. I bring you here with an exclusive interview with one of Panem's best." He tells everyone with a smile on his face.
"Peeta?" Katniss asks as she shares a glance with Finnick.
"She definitely captured our attention in her games at least." Caesar admits with a laugh. Finnick felt his stomach twist at his words. Could it really be her? "And it seems she has a message for you all. Arya, how are you doing tonight?" He asks before the camera pans over to her.
They were all silent, their eyes glued to the screen. Everyone could see that she was clearly not in good shape. Her skin looked a sickly pale, her hair, although brushed was thin and frail, she looked thin and even with the makeup and clothes, they could see clear signs of torture across her entire body.
"Arya." Matthew mutters as he just stares in shock. Until now it was just hope that she was still alive. But now he was seeing it. It was real. Finnick felt sick to his stomach just thinking of the many ways they probably tortured her.
"Arya?" Caesar asks, raising his eyebrows, glancing toward the camera. Arya hadn't answered his previous question, her eyes having just been staring in front of her. But she blinks a few times, her eyebrows furrowing.
"What?"
"I asked how you're doing?" Caesar states, just staring at her. Arya tried to force a smile onto her face, pushing out a laugh.
"Well, you know me Caesar, always living on the edge." She answers him, brushing her hair behind her ear. Caesar laughs with her.
"Don't we know it." He says, looking toward the camera before moving his eyes back to Arya. "What is the message you have for the citizens of Panem?" Caesar asks her curiously. Arya tried to rack her mind but she couldn't remember.
"Message?" She asks and Caesar only nods his head at her. "Uh... it was.. um.." Arya stops herself, her eyes moving to the ground.
"What did they do to you?" Matthew asks himself, hating how he had to watch someone who was like a little sister to him in so much pain.
"Something with stopping the rebel war?" Caesar asks, trying to move the conversation along. But Arya shakes her head, her eyes moving around the room rapidly. Haymitch, Effie, Finnick, Matthew and Katniss were all staring at the screen, their hearts breaking to see the woman in such a vulnerable state. The woman who never tried to share emotions.
"Peeta." She says quietly causing Katniss's eyes to widen. "I want Peeta." Arya admits, her fingers tightening on the arm chair she was sitting on. Katniss looks at the group. It confirmed that the victors were together. Peeta was probably the one closest to her, or the one who tried to help her the most. Of course he did, Katniss wouldn't think any other way.
"Ms Ryker, you had a message to give Panem, what was it?" Caesar asks her, once again trying to get back on topic. Katniss furrows her eyebrows as she looks toward finnick.
"Did they do something to her mind?" She asks. It was the only way to explain her behaviour. It didn't even seem like she knew where she was.
"Please stop these attacks." She starts, looking beyond confused as she stared at something off camera. "They... they're callous.." Arya adds, her voice practically trembling. "They um.."
"They gave her a script." Plutarch states. It was clear none of this was coming from her but even a five year old could see that.
"No shit." Matthew mutters with a scoff, shaking his head. "With the amount of times she's been beaten, she probably can't remember any of it." He points out, crossing his arms against her chest. With the way they probably both physically and psychologically tortured her, she probably had memory issues.
"I just want to know if he's alive." Her words caught everyone's attention.Β Her voice was quiet and frail as she spoke, her tone wavering.
"If who's alive?" Caesar asks curiously.
"Finnick." The man in question could only stare at the screen. She wanted to know if he was alive. Him. In some ways he should be happy, that meant she cared. But all it fell into a deep pain when she spoke her next sentence. "Is he dead because of me?" A tear left her eye as she stared right at Caesar who didn't really know how to answer her.
"Uh, we're gonna go on a short break but we'll be back soon." Caesar states before the video cuts short. Matthew shakes his head as he turns back to the group.
"We can't wait. Did you see her? She's not even herself anymore." He points out. If they waited any longer, there wouldn't be a person left to rescue.
"I'm sorry, until it's safe--" Matthew slams his hands on the table before storming out of the room. Coin kept her eyes down as she could feel the numerous glares on her. But Finnick just wanted to be able to speak to her, or at least get a message to her. That would be okay for him until they could get in and rescue her.
"Is there any way?" Finnick asks them, hope in his tone. But many of them didn't know what he was talking about. "To even just tell her that I'm alive?" He questions. He just wanted to show her, to maybe give her some hope, some reason to fight to get out of there.
"Not right now." Plutarch answers him and Finnicks heart drops. How could they even try and rescue her if they couldn't even send a message. He didn't want to think of a world where she was killed by Snow. That wasn't justice. That wasn't anything but pure grief.
He didn't care what Matthew said. Just because they only started to really talk in the arena didn't mean he had any less right to want to rescue her. Finnick didn't want to lose her. He couldn't. Although, yes, they had mostly argued, he never wanted her to die. If he wanted that, he would've been the one to kill her. But he wanted her back. He wanted her safe.
But it seemed that was just getting further and further from reality.
