At Singhania Mansion:
A boy is shown in a room, diligently working on his laptop. (Yes, the boy is our Raghav.) The soft glow of the screen illuminates his focused face, his fingers dancing over the keyboard as he types rapidly. Papers are strewn across his desk, evidence of his dedicated work.
Another girl is peeping through the door of his room. (Yes, the girl is his sister, Ritu.) She watches him for a moment, her eyes filled with hesitation and a hint of mischief.
Ritu fidgets with her fingers, taking a deep breath as if gathering the courage to speak.
Raghav feels her presence and, without looking up from his laptop, says, "Come inside, Chutki. Why are you peeping like that?" His eyes remain glued to the screen, but his voice carries a welcoming tone.
Ritu steps inside slowly, her fingers still twisting nervously. She approaches him, trying to muster the courage to speak.
"What mischief have you done now?" Raghav asks, finally glancing at her. He notices her hesitant posture and raises an eyebrow in amusement.
Ritu gets offended by his question. She hasn't even said anything yet, and her bhaiyaa is already jumping to conclusions.
"What do you think, that I always do some kind of mischief? Come on, Bhaiyaa, I am not a five-year-old kid. I'm studying in college now," she replies, her voice carrying a note of complaint.
Raghav looks at her with a bored expression, clearly not convinced by her defense.
Her body language is telling another story altogether."Then tell me, what are you doing here now? What do you want?" Raghav asks again, his attention drifting back to his laptop.
Ritu feels tongue-tied. She doesn't know if her bhaiyaa will give her permission or not. She chants a quick prayer before proceeding."Bhaiyaa, actually, on Sunday, all my friends are planning to see a new movie that released a few days ago. Can I also go with them? I really want to see that movie, please,"
Ritu blurts out in one go, her words tumbling over each other.Raghav doesn't catch everything she says at first, but when he realizes what she's asking, he goes silent. He contemplates for a moment, weighing the options.
Seeing his silence, Ritu asks again, "Bhaiyaa, can I go, please?"
"Hmm, you can go, but before that, you have to follow some rules. Then only I can give you permission. Agree?" Raghav says in a firm tone, looking at her seriously.
Listening to him, she jumps on him in excitement and gives a long kiss on his cheek. He quickly moves his laptop aside to prevent it from getting damaged and holds her to keep her from falling.
"Muaaahhhhh! Done, done. Thank you, thank you so much. You are the best brother in this world, I must agree," Ritu shouts in excitement, her voice echoing in the room.
"Don't get too excited yet. First, listen to the rules, then you can dance around," Raghav says, closing his ears at her loud voice. He has to admit, she has quite a pair of lungs on her.
"Okay, you tell me. Anyway, I will agree to all of them," Ritu says, settling beside him, her excitement barely contained.
Raghav takes a deep breath and starts, "Yeah, so first:Rule number 1: Keep your GPS location on at all times.
Rule number 2: Get your mobile fully charged. If I find out that your phone is switched off when I call you, then for the next 5 months, you can write a goodbye note for it.
Last but not least,Rule number 3: You can enjoy all you want but have to reach home by 7 PM. Got it?"
"Yes, yes, I got it. I accept all your rules. Thank you once again, Bhaiyaa. I love you,"
Ritu says, hugging her brother tightly, her joy evident.
"I love you too, mera bacha," Raghav says, kissing her forehead affectionately.
But suddenly, Ritu hits her own forehead. "One thing I forgot to tell you. Mummy has asked you to come to her room. She wants to tell you something important."
"Something important? Okay, you go and tell her I'm coming," Raghav says, starting to shut down his laptop. He feels a twinge of curiosity mixed with concern about what his mother wants to discuss.
In another room, a lady is comfortably reading a novel on her bed. (Yes, the lady is Reema, Raghav's mother.)
The room is cozy, filled with the soft rustle of pages turning.
"Mom, you called me? Ritu told me," Raghav asks as he enters the room.
"Yes, beta, I called you. Actually, your dad and I have chosen a girl for you. She is the daughter of your father's friend. We like that girl... she is perfect for you. Even she has a job in a company. If you don't have any problems..." Reema begins, but Raghav cuts her off.
"As you both wish, Mom. I don't have any problem," Raghav says, smiling gently. He wants to ease his mother's worries, trusting her judgment.
Reema's face lights up with happiness. She was worried about how he would react."If you don't have any problem, then we have decided to go to their house tomorrow to meet them. You will have to accompany us," Reema continues, her excitement palpable.
Raghav hesitates for a moment. He has an important meeting tomorrow, and canceling it last minute is not an option."But Maa, how can I? I have an important meeting tomorrow. I have to attend it. There is no way I can cancel it," Raghav replies, his tone tense.
Reema glares at him. Not a single day goes by without him claiming he has an important meeting. "That's not even a big deal for you, as every meeting is important for you. I'm not telling you to cancel it. You attend it and then come directly to their house. We will meet there," Reema tells him, her tone leaving no room for argument.
"But Mom," Raghav tries to interrupt again.
"I don't want to hear any 'no' from you. This is final," Reema says, ending the discussion.
"Okay, okay. Don't get angry. I will do as you say. Happy now?" Raghav says, shaking his head in resignation.
Reema smiles, "Yes, very much."
The next day at Shaw Mansion:
Pihu is getting ready, standing in front of the mirror. She wears a simple salwar kameez with matching earrings. Her hair is open, cascading down to her waist. She completes her look with a small bindi and pink lipstick, her nerves evident in her reflection.
"Hey, princess, can I come inside? Did you get ready?" asks Shreyansh, knocking on his sister's room.
"Yes, Bhaiya, come inside. I'm almost ready," shouts Pihu as she adjusts her dupatta. He looks at her with a satisfied smile, gently cupping her face. He can't believe his baby sister is now getting married.
"You are just looking like a princess. Just see that he doesn't faint seeing you," he teases, trying to lighten her mood.
Pihu hits him on the shoulder, "Here your sister is feeling nervous and you are teasing me." She starts biting her nails, a habit he knows well.
He slaps her hand away, "Some habits never change."
He hugs her, "Just remember one thing: this is just a normal meeting. Nobody is forcing you to do anything. If you think the boy is perfect, then only say yes. Otherwise, it's a clear no. There is no hurry for anyone. Got it?"She nods in understanding, feeling slightly reassured by his words.
In the living room:
Piyaali and her husband Saransh are checking all the arrangements. Shreyansh informs them that the guests have arrived.
The Singhania family has sent a proposal for Pihu. Rahul and Saransh were childhood friends, and the Singhania family liked Pihu very much and wanted her to be their daughter-in-law and Raghav's wife.
"Come inside, come inside. We were waiting for you all," Saransh greets them with a warm smile.
"You don't have to behave so formally, Saransh. Come on, we are best friends. It doesn't suit us," Rahul laughs, hugging Saransh.
After a long time, they are meeting in person, and the joy is evident on their faces.
Saransh laughs, "Sure, Rahul. And meet, this is my wife, Piyaali."
Reema steps forward, "Hello, Piyaali. I am Reema, Rahul's wife, and this is our daughter, Ritu."
Soon both families greet each other warmly. Shreyansh also meets the family, his warm demeanor putting everyone at ease.
Saransh looks at the door and asks, "Uhmm, where is Raghav? Didn't he come with you all?"
"No, no. It's not like that. He had an important meeting at the office and will come directly here," Rahul assures him.
"Yes, Saransh ji, he is on the way," Reema adds, smiling.
After some time, Raghav arrives. "Sorry, everyone. There was long traffic," he says, entering with a smile.
Saransh and Piyaali smile as he bends down to take their blessings and introduced himself and settle down beside them.
Soon Piyaali brought Pihu down She felt all the eyes were on her .she started to get nervous but then she gradually calms down as she saw her father and brother were assuring her through eyes..
Pihu went and touched the feet of Rahul and Reema and took their blessings and Ritu hugs her and told that she is looking pretty and introduces herself..
The family talked for a while and Pihu could feel that one pair of eyes is continuously starring at her and it is none other than Raghav
At one moment , accidently their eyes met each other ,but they both quickly averted their eyes..
After then Rahul ask to them..
"I think now we should let our children to have some talk with each other ...if they want to ask each anything ..they can what's say Saransh ?"
"Yes yes sure Rahul , Pihu bacha take Raghav to your room ok ??" Saransh gently ask her daughter to which she nods her head.
And they both moves towards her room..
