Cause I'm starting to think...

Time set: Attack Of The Clones

Third Person Pov.

-10 years later-

"Hey, get back here!" The young woman yelled as she jumped after the cloaked figure.

Giving out a groan the (H/C) haired girl ran after the person. The pouring rain wasn't exactly helping her either, but despite all the cons she continued the chase.

The black cloaked figure turned to face her before jumping down the building once more. (Y/N) ran to the edge seeing the enemy sprint into the croud. Letting out a sigh she ignited her lightsaber and stood on the edge and turned her back to it. Without any thinking she let herself fall into the filled street and once she touched ground, she rushed after the man.

Everyone moved out of the jedi's way after seeing the deadly weapon in her hands. The girl scanned the dimly lit street and caught sight of the familiar fabric. She knew there was another road to the one the figure took so she ran straight into the corridor. Giving out loud pants she got her lightsaber ready for a strike as she saw the crossroads.

When the girl was not even 2 steps away she swung her weapon towards the man who fell to the ground from shock. (Y/N) smirked in victory as she stepped on his chest and held her (L/C) lightsaber to his throat.

"I'll take this!" She said simply and grabbed the pouch from his hand. "Thank you very much."

"How did you...I thought I lost-" He started to mumble but was cut off by the girl pushing the weapon further towards his throat.

"Lost me? Oh, please, I may be reckless but I'm pretty good in finding people." The girl chuckled before jumping up so she can stand. "Now..." Her face darkened as she swept some wet hair from her eyes. "If I ever hear of you stealing from Senator Amidala again, I swear to you I will hunt you down."

The man looked up at her in fear as she stared into his eyes. "Do you understand?"

He nodded his head virgously as (Y/N) grinned and ushered him away. Sweeping her (H/L) back, which was now all wet from the rain, she looked back up towards the sky and sighed.

"Now I have to go back around the whole planet." (Y/N) smiled to herself sarcastically. "Yay."

(Y/N) Pov.

We were all sat in the in the chancellor's office on Coruscant, well the council mostly, but Master Yoda took me along with them. I heard about the assassination attempt on Padmé so I guessed this meeting was about that.

"I don't know how much longer I can hold off the vote, my friends. More and more star systems are joining the separatists." Palpatine stated looking at us all.

"If they do break away--" Mace Windu spoke up.

"I will not let this Republic that has stood for a thousand years be split in two. My negotiations will not fail!" The chancellor snapped cutting the jedi master off.

"If they do, you must realize there aren't enough Jedi to protect the Republic. We are keepers of the peace, not soldiers." Master Windu stated giving a small shrug.

I had to agree with him. The jedi code were definetely not trained to be sent into any kind of war. Besides there weren't many knights who could be prepared but the most of us were still padawans or just younglings.

"Master Yoda, do you think it will really come to war?" Palpatine asked making us all turn to the jedi Master.

"Worse than war, I fear...Much worse." Master Yoda said closing his eyes.

"What?"

"What do you sense, Master?" I asked from behind him, since I was left standing.

"The Dark Side clouds everything. Impossible to see, the future is. But this I am sure of. Do their duty, the Jedi will." He replied looking into the chancellor's eyes once more.

Just then a light buzzer sounds and a hologram appears. The creature speaks to Palpatine and he nods saying, "Good. We will discuss this matter later. Send them in."

The door opened with a loud hiss and a group of people walked in. Along them was Padmé, Captain Typho, Mas Amedda, Dorme and other senators. I offered Padmé a small smile and she gave one back to me as we all stood up.

"Padmé, your tragedy on the landing platform, terrible. With you the force is strong...young Senator. Seeing you alive brings warm feeling to my heart." Yoda started as he walked over to her.

"Thank you, Master Yoda. Do you have any idea who was behind the attack?" She asked concerned.

"Our intelligence points to disgruntled spice miners, on the moons of Naboo." Master Windu answered seriously.

"But I think that Count Dooku was behind it." Padmé spoke up.

We all looked at eachother shocked. Master Yoda rarely talked about him but I knew that he was once a jedi.

"He is a political idealist, not a murderer." Ki-Adi stated sternly.

"You know, M'Lady, Count Dooku was once a Jedi. He couldn't assassinate anyone. It's not in his character." Mace Windu continued looking at Padmé.

"In dark times nothing is what it appears to be, but the fact remains for certain, Senator, in grave danger you are." The green jedi said.

I saw Palpatine get up, walk to the window and look out at the city.

"Master Jedi, may I suggest that the Senator be placed under the protection of your graces." He stated as we now all turned to look at him.

"Do you think that is a wise decision during these stressful times?" Bail Organa, who I knew when I was little from Alderaan, asked.

"Chancellor, if I may comment, I do not believe the..." Padmé started her speech.

"--'situation is that serious.' No, but I do, Senator." Palpatine replied cutting her off.

"Chancellor, please! I don't want any more guards!"

"I realize all too well that additional security might be disruptive for you, but perhaps someone you are familiar with...an old friend like...(Y/N) Kothari..." Palpatine said making me look at him with wide eyes.

"Me?" I stammered looking at the council mostly.

"Chancellor, I do not believe young Kothari is ready to do such task yet--" Master Windu protested.

"No, young (Y/N), capable of such task, she is." My Master said giving a small nod. "Protect Senator Amidala, she will."

"We'll see how she does, then we could send another? Master Kenobi, may I offer?" Palpatine replied.

"That's possible. He will return from a Border dispute on Ansion in a week." Master Windu answered nodding his head.

I felt a little anger bubble inside me but I tried to keep it in. I was capable of doing this by myself, I don't need another jedi to help. Even if it's Obi-Wan, he's my friend but it's unnecessary. I felt someone nudge me and saw Master Yoda giving me a hard glance.

"You must remember him, M'Lady... he watched over you during the blockade conflict."

"This is not necessary, Chancellor." Padmé spoke up shaking her head then looked at me. "If so, (Y/N) is capable of doing this herself."

"Do it for me, M'Lady, please. I will rest easier. We had a big scare today. The thought of losing you is unbearable." Palpatine said and turned to me. "You are still young Kothari, only 18, this would be a hard task."

"I'm able to do it by myself, chancellor." I hissed between my teeth glaring at him.

"I will have Obi-Wan report to you immediately when he arrives, M'Lady." Mace Windu stated ending the glaring contest.

"Too little about yourself you worry, Senator, and too much about politics. Be mindful of your danger, Padmé. Accept our help." Master Yoda whispered to her but I could still hear him.

Padmé sighed then nodded her head in defeat. I pat her shoulder slightly awkward in the situation but she didn't seem to realise.

After that I bidded goodbye to the council and started my mission of protecting Padmé. My first day was mostly about getting my own room, catching up with her since I barely saw her in the past 10 years and getting my so called schedule.

My days went by the same. Everyday was the perfect match of the last. I woke up, got ready, had breakfast. Then went to her room, helped her with her smaller tasks, followed her everywhere. After that I ate dinner, got ready for bed, reported back to the council and slept.

Then repeat.

That was until one day I was helping Padmé with some of her paperwork when there was a loud bang from her room. We both turned to the scorce of the noise and edged out into the hallway. I had my lightsaber in my hands while Padmé followed closely behind me.

I kicked her door open seeing a cloaked figure grab a bag then turn to us.

"Hey, those are mine!" Padmé yelled as the figure jumped out of the window.

"I'll get it back don't worry!" I told her then jumped out following the person.

I rushed after them, from roof to roof until I realised I got to the other side of the planet. Now it was raining and it was dark. Awsome.

I stopped to get some air then saw the cloaked figure rush past me. I followed them in the pouring rain while trying hard not to fall.

"Hey, get back here!"

-present time-

Third Person Pov.

The elevator was moving fast up the side of the building, in which the two jedi stood. One of them was Obi-Wan and the other his padawan, Anakin Skywalker. The younger one was constantly pulling at his robe trying to fix it while sweating from eagerness.

"You seem a little on edge." His Master stated looking over at the boy who was slightly taller than him.

"Not at all." He gulped looking forward, but still picked at his sleeve.

"I haven't felt you this tense since we fell into that nest of gundarks." Obi-Wan chuckled.

"You fell into that nightmare, Master, and I rescued you, remember?" Anakin replied giving him a cocky smirk.

"Oh yeah." They both laughed then his master said. "You're sweating. Relax. Take a deep breath."

"I haven't seen her in ten years, Master." The padawan answered thinking about his old friend.

"She's not the Queen anymore, Anakin." Obi-Wan answered oblivious on who his padawan was actually thinking about.

"That's not why I'm nervous." Anakin stated looking to the ground. (Y/N)'s going to be there.

The elevator door opened and the two of them stepped out into the corridor. A door opened with a hiss and Jar Jar came walking in then recognized Obi-Wan.

"Obi! Obi! Obi! Mesa sooo smilen to seein yousa. Wahooooo!" The creature jumped around shaking his hand.

"It's good to see you, too, Jar Jar." He smiled the Jar Jar turned to his padawan.

"...and this, I take it, is your apprentice..." Jar Jar replied then realisation hit him. " Noooooooo! Ani? Noooooooo! Little bitty Ani? Noooooooo! Yousa so biggen! Yiyiyiyyi! Ani!"

"Hi, Jar Jar." Anakin smiled simply.

"Shesa expecting yousa. Ani...Mesa no believen!" The creature beamed after enveloping him in a hug.

The three of them continued walking down the hallways which made Anakin even more nervous. He was going to see her again. Anakin tried to calm himself as another door opened with a loud hiss which led them to an open area. Captain Typho and Padmé were talking to eachother but stopped once they saw the three.

"Mesa here. Lookie... lookie... Senator. Desa Jedi arriven." Jar Jar said.

"It's a pleasure to see you again, M'Lady." Obi-Wan greets her as they shake hands.

"It has been far too long Master Kenobi. I'm so glad our paths have crossed again...but I must warn you that I think your presence here is unnecessary." Padmé replied with a small smile. "(Y/N) is doing her job just fine."

"I'm sure the Jedi Council has their reasons." He stated giving a little nod.

The Padmé turned to Anakin.

"Ani? My goodness, you've grown." She mumbled with a smile.

"So have you...you've changed, I mean...and became much shorter...for a Senator, I mean." Anakin stuttered then mentally faceplamed himself. "I'm sorry."

"Oh, Ani, you'll always be that little boy I knew on Tatooine." Padmé laughed which slightly embarrased him.

"Our presence will be invisible, M'Lady, I can assure you." Obi-Wan stated.

"I'm very grateful you're here, Master Kenobi. I'm Captain Typho, head of Her Majesty's security service. Queen Jamillia has informed you of your assignment. The situation is more dangerous than the Senator will admit." The guard spoke up giving a nod to the jedi.

"I don't need more security, I need answers. I want to know who is trying to kill me." Padmé explained.

"We're here to protect you Senator, not to start an investigation." Obi-Wan answered then looked around. "Also, may I ask where (Y/N) is?"

"Oh, she has gone--" The senator explained but was stopped mid sentence.

A door slammed open to reveal a panting woman who gave a wide grin and stepped forward only to slip and  fall. Giving out a small yelp she fell onto her back and stayed there. Everything went silent.

After a small pause her hand shot up holding a bag from behind the couch, where she fell, and let out a chuckle. "I got it!"

The (H/C) haired woman stood up from the now wet puddle and walked over to Padmé, oblivious to everyone there.

"Oh, you won't believe it, Padmé. I had to chase after that man to the other side of the planet. In the pissing rain and dark." (Y/N) let out a breath. "Then when I came back both of the elevator's were in use so I had to run up the stairs all the way here. This day is totally crazy, am I right?"

"Uh, (Y/N)..." The senator laughed at her friend who tried to get the wet hair out of her face.

"What?" She asked the turned around to see a familiar face. "Oh, goodness me!"

She pat down her hair and soaked robe, which didn't exactly change anything, and bowed.

"Obi-Wan--" The girl coughed and composed herself. "Master Kenobi, it's nice to see you again!"

"You too, (Y/N)." He smiled.

Anakin nearly choked on his own spit when he heard her name. That is (Y/N)? His first friend? The person he liked ever since he was 9? He froze in his place when they met eyes.

(Y/N) Pov.

I greeted Obi-Wan with a charming smile which was quite hard to get on since I look like somone who just came back from the dead.

I turned to the other jedi and my eyes widened. Even without seeing him a lot I could still recognize him. It was Anakin. I nearly let out a chuckle when I saw him panic but rubbed it off and I stepped towards him nervously.

"Anakin?" I questioned looking up at him.

"Uh, yeah...that's me." He let out a nervous chuckle.

"Wow, you've, uh...grown." I smiled but was panicing on the inside.

"You too, uh...you've grown more beautiful. I mean, uh...! For a jedi, I mean." Anakin rambled as his eyes darted around the room.

"You too, Anakin. You've become a handsome young man." I grinned then wrapped him in a hug.

"Oh, uh...thank you?" He said but it came out more like a question, while he hugged me back tightly.

We heard someone clear their throat and Anakin let go of me but still stood by my side. Obi-Wan gave him a stern look then glanced at me.

"I'm sorry to interupt your reunion but there are things we need to discuss." He said as we all sat down.

I stayed beside Anakin and saw him edge slightly closer to me. I smiled to myself then turned back to Padmé.

"As I was saying...I don't need more security, I need to know who is trying to kill me." She stated.

"We're here to protect you Senator, not to start an investigation." Obi-Wan frowned at her sentence.

"We will find out who's trying to kill you Padmé, I promise you." Anakin mumbled and I nodded along.

Obi-Wan gave us both a dirty look.

"We will not exceed our mandate, young Padawan learner's!" He replied.

"I think he meant in the interest of protecting her, Master." I spoke up awkwardly.

"We will not go through this exercise again, Anakim. And you will pay attention to my lead." The jedi Master turned to Anakin once again.

"Why?" Anakin asked.

My eyes widened at his answer but I shook it off. The others also seemed to notice the tense aura surrounding them and Jar Jar gulped.

"What?" Obi-Wan questioned raising an eyebrow.

"Why else do you think we were assigned to protect her, if not to find the killer? Protection is a job for local security... not Jedi." I coughed making him look at me with a look tgat said 'sorry'. "It's overkill, Master. Investigation is implied in our mandate."

"We will do exactly as the Council has instructed, and you will learn your place, young one."

"Perhaps with merely your presence, the mysteries surrounding this threat will be revealed." Padmé stopped the bickering and stood up. "Now, if you will excuse me, I will retire."

We all stood up after her and the two beside me bowed while I just peeked into the hallway.

"Can I help with anything?" I asked her to which she turned back.

"No, thank you, (Y/N). You can rest this evening." Padmé smiled at me.

"Great! Thanks, Padmé." I grinned as she walked away.

The three of us were left in the room and let's just say...it was slightly awkward. I could feel the frustration radiating off of both of them. I formed my lips into a line and breathed in through my nose.

"I'll let you two sort out whatever is wrong and I'll go and change. I've been dripping water everywhere so if you'll excuse me." I smiled and waved walking down the hallways to my room.

I sighed and opened my door to the small space. There wasn't much to it just a bathroom, a big window and a bed. After throwing my boots off I walked into the bathroom to have a quick shower.

Once I was finished and my hair was dried I grabbed a new set of robes. It was just a plain (F/C) long sleeved shirt, paired with some black comfortable pants, a pair of (Y/C) coloured tabards, a belt and some knee high combat boots. After putting my hair into a (Y/C) style I grabbed my lightsbaber and went back outside.

After I walked into the area we were in about an hour ago I saw Obi-Wan and Anakin talk on the balcony.

"...I'd rather dream of (Y/N). Just being around her again is...intoxicating." I heard Anakin say which made my face tint red.

"Be mindful of your thoughts, Anakin, they betray you. You've both made a commitment to the Jedi Order... a commitment not easily broken." Obi-Wan scolded him.

I took a deep breath and like I didn't hear anything I walked inside. They both immeadietly looked towards me and I only smiled.

"Good evening, what are you two doing here at such a late hour?" I asked innocently as I walked up to them.

"Oh, we were just talking. Nothing to worry about, young (Y/N)." Obi-Wan replied giving Anakin a look. "I was just about to check up on something, if you won't mind."

"Of course not, go ahead." I said bowing as he exited the room.

There was a small silence between us until we both turned to eachother.

"I haven't seen you in so long--"

"I missed you so much--" Anakin and I said at the same time which made us laugh. "I'm sorry, you can speak first."

"It's nothing really, just it's been so long since we've seen eachother." I smiled slightly as we walked to the balcony once more.

"Well yes, about 6 years since we last trained with eachother." He nodded and looked out into the scenery.

"Wow, that long...we're both adults now, right?" I asked looking up at him.

"Yeah, I'm nineteen. Then you're eightteen?" Anakin questioned raising an eyebrow and locking eyes with me.

"Yes, I am. I didn't think you would remember that." I chuckled and rubbed my arms as a gust of wind blew past.

"How have you been?" Anakin asked me.

"Well, I'm tired mostly...it's been harder ever since I've been getting harder mission's. And I always have nightmares--" I started only for him to stop me.

"Nightmares?" He repeated.

"Yes, it's quite weird. Jedi's don't usually have bad dreams, I spoke to Master Yoda about it but he said they will pass. That was about half a year ago, I guess." I explained to him. "You have them too?"

"I dream about my mother...that she's in pain." Anakin muttered as he leaned on the railing. "It's horrible."

"It's okay." I whispered putting my hand on his in a comforting manner. "I mostly dream about...I don't even know what they are."

"What happens in it?" He asked but I saw him blush when he looked at our hands.

"Well, it's just a black void...but I always hear a woman and a man talking about the same thing everytime. I think the man says something about ruling the galaxy together to which the girl responds with a small yes...but then it's interupted by someone sobbing and a deep distorted breath." I rambled on trying to recall my dream from 2 days ago.

"That's weird..." Anakin trailed off.

"I know, I haven't slept in 2 days. Because I don't want to experience it again since I always feel a hard pain in my chest." I sighed but turned to him. "I missed you, Anakin."

"Me too, (Y/N)." He smiled back. "Me too..."

Suddenly he interwind our fingers and pulled me into a tight hug which I immediately returned. It was good to have him back beside me after 6 years. I missed him, but now he was finally here again.
