๐๐๐๐ Vi and Caitlyn realised had been seperated from Mai when they didn't feel her heavy presence near them. Caitlyn struggled profusely in her restraints whilst Vi lazily lounged against the pole that had been tied to with bags over their heads.
"I knew it was a mistake trusting you," Caitlyn sneered as the frustration built up in her.
"You've been a real picnic yourself," Vi replied back sarcastically.
"I'm not the one who walked us into not one but two of Silco's traps," Caitlyn grunted again as she tried to pull on the cuffs. "And now thanks to you we don't know where Mai is! We don't know if she's here, if she's-
"Mai is fine," Vi barked back more so talking to herself rather than Caitlyn, "she is stronger than most, besides this isn't Silco, it's someone else."
"How do you know?"
"Cause we'd already be dead!"
Caitlyn rolled her eyes even under the bag, "oh, very nice! When were you gonna tell me your lunatic sister works for him?"
"Just as soon as you tell me the truth about what you're really doing down here."
"I told you the truth," Caitlyn gritted out.
"Bullshit. Mai was right you came down here for playtime, what was that glowing stone?" Caitlyn said nothing, "that's what I thought."
The metal door creaked and Vi felt hands grab her arms hoisting her off the floor. "Get your hands off of me!"
"Let her go!" Caitlyn heard her still struggling, "Vi! Vi!"
๐๐๐๐๐ Mai giggled softly as she hid in the top shelf whilst Vander tried to find them, they were playing hide and seek.
"I know you're here, I can smell you, you little buggar." He had a deep voice but whenever he'd speak to the children there was a lightheartedness to it. Vander had already caught Powder and Claggor who were also helping him find the others. Claggor was rooting through the draws whilst eating pastries as fast as he could.
Powder stilled for a second before looking up and her and Mai locked eyes. Mai thought she was done for as Powder opened her mouth, "I think they're in the bar!"
She yelled out loud before going to run back up the stairs, Claggor followed along hurriedly whilst Vander ran after them. "Careful! There's still customers out there so don't," he heard a glass smash and sighed softly, "run around."
๐๐๐ eyes opened, testing the brightness of the room before finding the dark peaceful. She went to close them again, Powder! Vi! Gabby! Caitlyn- Mai sat up quickly but yelled as a sharp pain throbbed in her shoulder.
Though, as she looked down she saw Caitlyn's belt which had been holding her wound together was left discarded on the floor. Instead there was a large white bandage, she caught sight of medical equipment on the side table. Mai realised she was on a bed of sorts though the curtains were shut to avoid sunlight.
A small mewl made her look down and she smiled slightly at the sight of Link, "hey," he crawled into her lap and forced his head into her hands.
"Mai."
She looked up, recognising the voice instantly and she was able to let her muscles finally untense.
"Ekko," relief in her tone made the boy smile though he looked over her form.
"You were in a pretty bad shape," he scrunched his face at the sight of her blood that had dried. "We just covered it, stopped the bleeding but I know you don't like it when people touch you so," he trailed off as he nodded to the tools that would help get the bullet out. "But he wanted to stay."
Mai nodded whilst running her fingers through Link's fur, "thank you," a silence fell over them before Ekko started again.
"Is she- is she really here?"
She knew who he was referring to, "you saw her for yourself, where are they?"
"Your friend Gabby is down with the others outside and Vi's cooling off."
"What about Caitlyn?"
Ekko arched a brow, "Caitlyn? You mean the enforcer you two were with." It was easily noticeable how his mood changed when the Piltover girl was brought into question. Mai said nothing, "she's separate, didn't know if we could trust her."
She realised that he was waiting for an answer off her but in truth Mai didn't know how to respond. She caught a glimpse of Caitlyn during the rampage the night before, how she seemed to have her eyes locked on the glowing orb that rolled on the floor.
"I'm sure you can," was all she said before standing and wincing as she held her arm.
Ekko's stare lingered for a moment longer before he eventually nodded, "whatever you say." He huffed before going to leave.
"Ekko?" He turned, "thank you," he hid a smile as he flipped his mask back down onto his face.
They had met once again in the aftermath of losing their family and friends, back when Ekko had grown up and Mai was fighting her way through the Lanes. He offered her to come with him, start anew back when the tree was only a seedling but it didn't last long. Mai felt a lust for bloodshed, he was willing to fight back against Silco and Piltover at the same time but Mai just wanted to fight, she didn't care who it was. She didn't want the responsibility of others on her shoulders and so she left, she didn't want the pain of losing someone else again.
Mai undid the ties of her under jacket before sighing heavily as she seethed whilst the fabric of her jacket brushed her open cut.
Link settled in her jacket as he missed her scent and curled up in a ball in the centre.
"For fuck sake," she gritted as her shirt was sticking to the cut and she couldn't bring herself to lift her arm.
"Do you need help?"
Mai shielded her scarred and bloodied side away from Caitlyn's view, cowering into the shadows. "No."
The enforcer sighed softly and shut the door behind her, unrelenting as she carefully walked towards Mai.
"I said I don't need help," she blandly said though Caitlyn still came to stand in front of her but she continued to look over the girl. "Go back to playing with your blue rock," Mai bitterly told her.
Caitlyn sighed quietly before grabbing Mai's wrist, she traced her thumb over the dark birthmark that was oddly enough in the shape of a diagonal line. "Let me help you, please."
She felt Mai stiffen under her touch, she got ready for the rejection, for the girl to rip away from her or hit her square in the jaw. Instead, Mai wordlessly sat on the stool that was in front of a mirror, a candlelight in the far corner of the room, away from Mai, though still illuminating the dark.
As Caitlyn slipped her hand from her wrist she trailed her fingertip up her arm, wanting to turn her face so she'd look at her.
Once she neared Mai's scarred neck she grabbed her hand, a fearful glint in her eye that Caitlyn hadn't seen before. Not in the face of Silco or even when she'd gotten shot but in fact now and that thought made Caitlyn's heart clench with sympathy that she thought she'd be afraid of her.
"It's alright," Caitlyn cooed gently, "I need to see you to treat it."
Mai swallowed, her breath quickening slightly before the grip on her hand began to slip away. She allowed Caitlyn to tilt her chin the other way and let out a shaky exhale as she felt her breath on her skin.
She felt her gaze running up and down her neck, the heat of Caitlyn's gaze making her begin to sweat.
"May I?" She asked tenderly as her hands wandered down to the hem of her shirt, Mai didn't meet her eye. She bit her lip to stop a yelp as she lifted her injured arm to allow Caitlyn to pull the tank top off of her.
Now, she was only in her bralette and Caitlyn could see the full extent of her scars as well as her figure. Mai had her legs slightly parted so Caitlyn was able to step into her, she positioned herself so she was standing in between one of Mai's thighs to allow her to get a better angle.
Mai sucked in a harsh breath as Caitlyn leant down to which she politely averted her gaze to look down at her hands. Her scent making Mai's mouth begin to water and she suddenly began to remember she hadn't eaten. The perfume only lingered on her skin as it seemed her time in the Undercity was starting to show, instead she smelled of home. Alcohol from the drunkards that had spilled drinks on her clothing as they ran away from Silco's men, the warm suit from the fragments of the Lanes hugged at the divers of her enforcer uniform.
Making Mai undoubtedly feel herself relax and as she chanced to look up she found Caitlyn's neck within her reach. She didn't lean forwards but instead closed her eyes and breathed in deeply whilst sighing out lowly. She did this numerous times and Caitlyn felt the way her chest rose and stilled for a moment before falling once more.
Her eyes widened slightly, was she smelling her?
Caitlyn poured some of the rubbing alcohol into the wound and Caitlyn winced as she watched Mai's muscles tense at the feeling. "Sorry," she mumbled but only received a grunt in return, she didn't trust her voice at this stage.
Caitlyn let her gaze wonder once again as she carefully dabbed the outlines of the bullet hole. Amidst her cleaning she allowed her eyes to trail over Mai's form, she was clearly well built with a defined stomach even as she sat in a chair. Her arms were sculpted to show she had muscle and her shoulders were rounded with her breasts large in the barrette.
She had several small scars littered on her biceps but the burns from the fire she didn't expect to trail so low.
"You don't hold your gaze, do you?" Mai's voice startled her slightly as she began to stitch together her skin.
"Forgive me, I wa-
"You can call them ugly, I know what they are," Mai kept her head down as she wrung her hands together. Caitlyn saw Mai's body shake slightly when she rested her palm flat against the scarred side of her neck, she looked up to see Caitlyn looking into her eyes with a fierceness.
Her thumb gently traced the charred scars, "they are not ugly." Her voice was stern and she had full seriousness in her face reminding Mai of the time they first met. "They are beautiful."
Caitlyn's words struck Mai, she felt as if she had been winded an airy feeling fluttered about in her stomach. She knew the rest of her was not unfortunate looking but as Caitlyn traced her scars with such chastity dripping from her words it made Mai feel her ears turn red.
Their eye contact made the air in the room feel heavy before Caitlyn slipped her hand from her neck and returned to her work.
The enforcer felt her cheeks blushing profusely as she bit the inside of her cheek from nerves. Why would you say such things? Caitlyn heard her mother's disapproving words eating away at her inside.
"What business of yours was it to truly come down here?"
Their eyes met again for a brief moment before Caitlyn spoke up, "I do want to help the people down here, the good people. But Vi's sister, Jinx was involved in an attack that killed four enforcers and she used a weapon that belongs to one of the councillors and my friend, Jayce."
"So, you came to arrest her and take back the weapon," Mai said nothing more and Caitlyn sighed deeply as she tied the string.
"That is only part of my reasoning," she murmured whilst tracing her fingertips over the stitching. Her hand suddenly fell when Mai stood up, towering over her with her shirt discarded and scars on show all for Caitlyn to see.
"Thank you," Mai muttered before slipping past her, her skin brushing against Caitlyn's clothed form. "Sorry, buddy."
Link whined as she took the jacket from him and slipped her shirt back on, Caitlyn's eyes lingering on the curves in her back.
"You have a kitten?" Caitlyn knelt down in front of the bed, "what's his name?"
Mai looked down to see the black cat trotting happily into the enforcer's outstretched hands. "Link." She caught sight of something on the floor and knelt down to pick it up, she cleared her throat as Caitlyn was too invested in the cat. "Your belt."
The enforcer took it with a warm smile, "thank you." Caitlyn scratched under his chin and let out a small giggle as he fell into her palm, Mai felt that same airy feeling returning. "Did he come with the girl?"
Mai sat on the edge of the bed and nodded, "Gabby, we met in the arena together."
"Your friend, Ekko, doesn't like me," Caitlyn murmured softly, "I am trying to change his mind that not all enforcers are the same, that were people just like them."
Mai stared forwards as she put her boots on, "we spent our lives running from you lot, you've taken more than you've ever given."
Caitlyn felt remorse wash over her, "your parents," she began tenderly. After a beat of silence she thought Mai wouldn't speak up but instead she nodded slowly.
There was a moment shared between the carnage of the aftermath from the chaos they'd faced, not one understanding but one of acknowledgement. The first and potentially only time that an enforcer, topsider, would ever feel some kind of empathy for how zaunites were being treated. Caitlyn, still kneeling to the floor with the kittens head in her hands, stared up at Mai with compassion. The shine in her blue orbs so captivating that at first glance Mai wouldn't have known she was looking to her.
"It's odd really," Mai started off with a murmur into the quiet, "I don't think I've ever... missed them as much as I do now."
Caitlyn felt relief enveloping her that finally, finally this girl was opening up to her. She was putting her trust in the hands of the enforcer and allowing her to create a better chance for them. She took it to chance and gingerly reached out her hand before placing it on the length of Mai's thigh.
Mai looked down at her hand and then back to Caitlyn's eyes that beamed with a gratitude that Mai found suffocating. "I'm going to make it right, I swear it."
Her voice was rigid and taught with a deep promise and Mai felt her lungs completely vacant of air. The warmth from Caitlyn's hand as it pressed lightly against her clothed leg held enough pressure to cause a flurry within Mai. The way she looked into her eyes as she vowed to her that she would right that wrongs, how confident she seemed or possibly naive and now as Caitlyn was knelt onto the floor whilst holding her leg with such an amiable touch it made Mai's heart soften admirably.
Though, the thought of truly letting someone like that in made her fearful and Caitlyn was suddenly alarmed at how fast she stood up.
"We need to get going."
"Mai," she called for as her hand settled on the door handle, "I am sorry." If she were not stood in front of her Caitlyn wouldn't have been able to tell if Mai heard of her or not as she left her with the kitten. She let out a loud and frustrated groan,"your mother is dreadfully conflicting."
"๐๐๐!" Gabby all but catapulted herself in Mai's arms who grumbled at the contact as she felt the pain return in her arm. "You're okay, that was scary."
Mai squeezed her arm, "yeah, I'm okay," she looked up when she heard Vi's footsteps come hurriedly in her direction.
The brawler pulled her into a tight hug that Mai easily reciprocated, "you should've said something but you always were too stubborn." Vi lightly laughed though concern swirled in her grey eyes as clear as day. "Are you okay?"
Mai felt a small smile arise at Vi's care and she nodded subtly smacking her arm to uplift the atmosphere.
Violet parried close to Mai as she scanned up and down her form for any clearer, she felt ashamed in herself that she hadn't realised how Mai was steadying herself for Vi. She was reminded of when they were children and she found Mai pulling glass from her knees after another close encounter of theirs ended up with the girl getting hurt. Vi did her best to wrap her wound and promised her that Vander wouldn't know, it was a promise that they would look out for each other, always.
The laughter of children made her look round with a warmth within her soul, she hadn't been down here in years. The base seemed to have only flourished with the tree standing taller and broader than ever with the sun offering it a generous amount of richness.
"Looks better than last time, right?" Ekko seemed almost cocky as he folded his arms. Mai gave him a look out the corner of her eyes that were filled with a lightheartedness she hadn't been able to show before.
"It's beautiful," a British accent rang out from behind them. They looked to see Caitlyn looking round in awe, Mai caught sight of the belt now wrapped back round the enforcers waist.
"If your people had their way it would be rubble and ash," Ekko grumbled as he stared the dark haired girl down.
Caitlyn furrowed her brows and she could see the similarities shared between Mai and Ekko instantaneously. "This is a misunderstanding, they think you work for Silco."
Ekko fumed, "your people hunt us like animals, Silco pays them to do it!" He stormed up to her and got in Caitlyn's face though she made no move to show she was scared. Mai watched him with narrowed eyes already feeling her feet take a small shuffling step forwards.
Caitlyn shook her head, she didn't believe what he was saying, "that's not possible, you're wrong."
Ekko sneered and he got even closer with his fists clenching, "say that-
"Enough," Mai barged a hand in between them and placed it on his chest before shoving him away. She pulled Caitlyn to stand beside her whilst still having hold of her arm. "She doesn't believe what you're saying but she is not like them."
Her words made Caitlyn look to her with dilated pupils, the beating of her heart quickened within her chest. Link had sequestered after the enforcer whe she left the room and he glided in and out of their legs.
Gabby looked between the two with the remnants of a large grin creeping up her lips though, she bit down on it to stop an excited smile from spreading.
"Oh, yeah? Then, what's this?" He took at the blue orb and Mai felt Caitlyn gasp at the sight of it.
"You have to let me take that back," Ekko looked to her with a harsh glare.
"What is it?" Gabby asked peculiarly as she leaned over Vi's shoulder to get a better look.
"It's a Gemstone, it was stolen during the attack, by your sister." At the mention of Powder Mai let the grip she had on Caitlyn fall and the enforcer looked to her with a pitiful expression.
"You just forgot to mention that?" Vi retorted with a confused look.
"Look, with that someone with the right knowledge could build any Hextech device," Mai saw the clogs turning in Ekko's head as he rolled it between his fingers. "If enforcers are becoming more... aggressive, that's why."
Mai scoffed under her at her word choice before rounding her to stand besides Vi.
"We could beat Silco with this," he looked directly in Mai's direction and she watched his eyes trace over her scar with an anger already bubbling inside of him.
Caitlyn shook her head, "that won't solve things."
He jerked his shoulders up, "that's easy for you to say but your people aren't dying all around you."
Caitlyn calmly outstretched her hands, "Ekko, it's wrong what's been done to you and you would be well within your rights to keep it, I couldn't blame you." Mai kept her attention on the enforcer as she tried to convince him to help her but instead of hearing manipulative language she was content to listen to only genuine affection. The way Caitlyn spoke with such passion made Mai shift from side to side on the heels of her feet. "But.. if you do the cycle of violence will never stop, this city needs healing, more than I've ever realised, so please, let me help you."
Ekko casted a glance at Mai but found her eyes solely placed on the girl beside her and he relented,"you got a plan?"
"I have a friend on the council, he'll listen to me, your people won't have to hide anymore."
He clasped the gem tightly in his hands, "one condition, I'm the one who gives it to him."
Caitlyn nodded, "done," she smiled kindly at him, "thank you."
Ekko looked wearily at her before nodding, "cmon, we gotta move quickly." Caitlyn followed after him and Vi looked at Mai whilst whistling as she nodded, impressed with the enforcers performance.
Mai went to go when Gabby looped her arm round her with the other holding Link, "so when were gonna tell me you got a girlfriend?"
The woman looked down at the girl with a look of pure confusion as well upturning her lip, "what are you on about?"
Gabby smirked as she noticed Mai's cheeks darkening the slightest twinge, "you know," she drawled out. "The enforcer chick, I mean I'm surprised, given your history with them but I'll hand it to you she is a looker."
Mai rolled her eyes and pinched the bridge of her nose with her fingers, "please stop talking."
Gabby let out a short gasp, "and Violet!" She whisper shouted her name excitedly.
Mai looked down to her with announce plastered on her face, "what about her?"
"I mean Mai, come on, I'm only human," Gabby watched as Vi walked further away with the others and sighed dreamily. "What a woman."
Mai pulled her arm from out of Gabby's grasp and took the kitten with her whilst sneering down at the girl, look of disgust plastered all over her face. "Never look in her direction again." She turned away from her with grunts of disgust and held her hand over Link's ears.
"Too late!" Gabby chanted from behind her and Mai gagged into the air.
๐๐๐๐ lead them through secret passages that followed out into tunnels so they could avoid Silco and his men as well as enforcers. They crept up the mechanics of the drawbridge that separated Zaun and Piltover.
Mai lingered behind Vi with Link on her shoulder and watched as she began to start subconsciously shaking her head to herself. Violet looked up to Mai and the twos eyes shone back into the other reflecting perfect conflicting emotions. They couldn't leave Powder, not again, not anymore.ย
They stopped walking, Gabby scrunched her face in confusion but still waited behind Mai.
Caitlyn realised she couldn't feel their presences behind her and turned to face Mai though she wasn't looking at her.
"We can't leave her alone," Vi started with a disappointed tone.
Mai felt Caitlyn's eyes on her as she stared at the barriers the enforcers had placed up randomly on the bridge. The Kiramman peered at her with her eyes already beginning to brim with the fear of their separation. Mai couldn't find it in herself to spare even a glance in Caitlyn's direction as she gritted her teeth to ground herself from Caitlyn's sweetened gaze.
"You can't change her," Ekko said numbly as if he knew they were being stupid.
Vi shrugged, "we can only try."
He scoffed slightly before walking over to her and pulling her into a hug, "don't get yourself killed." Vi chucked humourlessly whilst looking over to Caitlyn who seemed as if she was going to cry from the way she was gazing longingly at Mai.
"Hey, cupcake," Vi gave her a half smile and Caitlyn tore her eyes away to stare at the zaunite. She opened her arms and enveloped the enforcer in a tight hug. "Thank you for helping me," Vi mumbled lowly but Caitlyn just nodded against her shoulder not trusting her own voice.
Gabby had taken Link from Mai's shoulder and she waved bye with his paw whilst Ekko gently scratched atop his fur with one finger.
Mai slowly lifted her stare from the floor so she could see the enforcer, glassy azure eyes were met with low hanging honeydews. Caitlyn felt relief crashing into her as she realised that Mai truly was disheartened that they were parting ways.
Although, Caitlyn didn't know if she were to approach her with her arms expectantly open. She was prepared for a fleeting handshake or even a formal nod but Mai was already closing the distance between them. She held the back of Caitlyn's head as tenderly as she could with her heavy handed touch whilst the other tightened around the enforcers waist before Mai pulled the girl in close to her. Caitlyn responded instantaneously by curling further into Mai's broadened form as she used her hands to hold the back of Mai's shoulders, careful of her wound and nuzzled her head in the spoils of her neck.
A sensation of solace washed between the two as Mai did not appear angered by the feel of Caitlyn's breath against her scars. Or even the feel of her rough skin against her porcelain integument, Mai breathed in her scent deeply with a cool easiness that Caitlyn allowed her eyes to shut at.
She felt the sting of tears in the corner of her eyes and Mai felt a small line running down her neck as Caitlyn's face remained there.
The three behind them couldn't help but openly gawk at the endearment the two women had for each other. They knew of Mai's solidarity and her nature to violently assault those who touched her but as her and Caitlyn embraced one another with such fondness and sentimentality behind their lingering touch, they realised how high the regard they held each other to was.
Neither wanted to part from the other but Mai achingly pulled back, she carefully reached a hand up and placed it against Caitlyn's cheek. The enforcers breath caught in her throat, Mai stroked her thumb tenderly over where the tear had fell from before giving her a rare, kind smile. Caitlyn felt her heart mend and break all the same as this was possibly the only first smile she had ever received from Mai.
She pulled away entirely and the two couldn't deny the chill that now crashed against the front of their bodies. Their hearts felt distressingly cold the further the steps Mai took away from her until she stopped in front of Ekko.
He looked to her as if she was a changed woman, he had never seen her cry let alone pour her affection openly to an enforcer of all people. Ekko nodded to her, they didn't need a long goodbye, they'd see eachother soon enough.
Gabby's gaze followed Mai's back she walked ahead of Vi and her, she'd never seen her so soft before. Violet tried to match Mai's pace with her own heart clenching at the display before her and guilt once again bit at her. Mai was detaching herself from Caitlyn so that she could come with her to help their sister. She never once gave up the vow even when happiness was within her arms she still chose her family.
They'd nearly crossed half the bridge in silence, Mai had returned to her quiet mundane self whilst Violet flickered between Gabby and Mai.
"You could go back," Violet started out loud with the nerves being to great for her to keep in. Mai turned round to look at her like she had grown two heads. "You don't have to stay just for Powder, you can go to her."
Mai let her eyes wander over Vi's face as she watched her chew on the inside of her mouth, a nasty habit to calm herself. "I'm not just staying for Powder," she started softly and Vi looked up with a wide puppy dog look. "I'm staying for you too, both of you," she added as she shared a glance with Gabby who smiled tiredly at her. Link meowed in Gabby's arms erupting small chuckles from them, "and you too, mister."
Vi knelt into Gabby's side who did not look appalled by the added weight before nodding. "Well alright then, let's g-"
A loud gunshot echoed down the bridge and three looked back where they had come from with alarm bells ringing in their ears. They looked back to each other before taking off running down the metal bridge.
"Caitlyn!" Vi shouted loudly hoping she would respond back.
Mai kept her mouth shut focused on running towards the danger instead of away. Although, by time they ran to the first barrier thousands of small green lights were flying ahead of them. They stopped in confusion to stare up at the sky as the creatures flew towards the bright light.
She scrunched her face at the sight of them before catching a glimpse of purple paint on the bag of their wings. "Get down!"
Explosions rang above them and all around them as the critters lit up the bridge like fireworks. Small fires were sprouted around them and Mai flinched back as one neared her face. After all this time she thought she had braved the fire, tamed it to bend to her will yet, as she saw Caitlyn clutching her leg she found something more frightening.
Gabby and Vi rushed to Ekko's side whilst Mai sucked a harsh breath before jumping over the flames and sliding in front of Caitlyn.
She held her chin carefully and looked down with a wince to see her leg bleeding, enforces lying dead on the floor beside her. Caitlyn could have been one of them, she shuddered at the thought.
"Come on," Mai encouraged as she put an arm around the girls waist whilst Caitlyn's went around her shoulders. She hissed in pain and Mai sucked her teeth at the sound, "I know," she soothed gently.
"Powder?" Vi's voice broke the silence and they looked up to see her stood with her face having one of disscontempt.
Jinx flickered her focus between Mai and Caitlyn then back to Vi. A angry shout left her lips and she flipped the machine gun up and fired incessantly again.
Vi grabbed Gabby and threw them to one side of the bridge, Link made a noise of pain as his small body skidded against the concrete.
Caitlyn tried to shield Mai with her body but the girl pushed her away as fast as she could so she couldn't get hit.
Amidst the firing Ekko arose from the lights atop his hoverboard with his bat in his hands. With a yell himself he dived for Jinx and hit her gun away from the people.
Gabby held her arm in pain whilst also holding a quietly crying Link as Vi ushered her to get behind the lights. Mai grabbed Caitlyn once more forcefully than before so she couldn't slip from her grasp and Ekko stood throwing the satchel he snatched into Caitlyn's arms.
"Go!" He barked and Mai looked into his heaving form but as Vi listened to his words she was forced to. Vi looked back to Powder with tears pooling in her eyes as she finally understood his words plainly, that wasn't Powder anymore.
They made it to Piltover but a loud explosion rang out from behind them that illuminated the bridge in one of total destruction. Vi gaped with her eyes wide and looked to Mai who stared at the scene clenching her jaw before turning away once more, unshed tears in her eyes.
