"๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐."
Sabyn's breathing began to waver, Donna gazed down at the girl, slowly grabbing her hand and giving it a reassuring squeeze. "Tributes, mentors, you have fifteen minutes to survey the space and discuss direction."
"I'm going to die in here. Im going to die in here and you and all your little Capitol friends are going to watch." Sabyn spat, Donna shook her head. "Hey, hey, hey. You're not going to die. You're going to fight, you are smart and you are brave you're going to get out of here."
"It's easy for you to say when you're not the one who has to fight." She got the dark haired girl a piercing glare full of hatred. Donna frowned, opening her mouth the respond, but the words were caught in her throat as she was thrown back by the force of an explosion.
The back of Donna's head smacked against the ground, she closed her eyes, kicked up dust entering her airways, causing ber to cough aggressively.
"Bellie!" Godiva and Sejanus rushed over to her in a hurry, helping her to her feet, their uniforms scuffed, scratches littering their skin.
"Where's Corio?" She asked, through her hacking, hitting her chest in a desperate attempt to get the dust out of her lungs. "Where's Sabyn?" Her questions fell upon deaf ears as the duo attempted to escort them all out.
Donna glanced up, the roof of the arena was collapsing, chunks of stone and concrete fell all around them. "We need to get Coriolanus. Where's Corio?" She screamed but once again her screams were swallowed by the noise.
๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐'๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐.
She refused to leave Coriolanus's side, her gaze consistently fixed on the blonde boy in his thin cotton gown. She kept his hand in hers, her thumb brushing over the back of his hand, pressing soft kisses to his knuckles.
She was meant to be backstage with Sabyn, helping her to prepare but the girl insisted she would be fine. "You can't help them see me if you don't have your light." She had muttered, giving the girl a reassuring pat on her shoulder.
Many were injured in the bombing, Gaius had lost his legs and Felix was severely injured. "They should give the games a rest." Donna muttered.
"They should rid the games entirely." Sejanus countered, his gaze hardening. Donna nodded, tears pricking her eyes. "Now do you see what I've been saying?" "I always have Sejanus." She muttered. Corio hadn't stirred once, and the longer she watched his motionless frame the more tears welled in her eyes.
"Hey, hey, hey don't cry Donna." Sejanus dropped to his knees in front of her, he took her other hand in his. "He's going to wake up, he'll be just fine okay? And I don't think Corio would want to see you crying when he wakes. You have to be happy, for Corio." Donna sniffled, chocking back her sobs. "For Corio." She mumbled. Sejanus placed a kiss on the back of her hand.
"I felt Sabyn out there. All by herself." "Sabyn will be fine, she's just as strong as I remember." Guilt ate at her bones, empathy filled her throat, threatening to spill out. But she knew better. She knew what would happen if she even dared speak out about the games.
She just couldn't see how she could go back, back to her life knowing that Sabyn will never have a normal one. Knowing year after year twenty three children would die at their hands. Her hands.
She would never be the same. Her guilt began to choke her. "I wish things were different." Sejanus mumbled, brushing his thumb over her bruised knuckles. "I wish I were different." She responded. "I wish I had a passion, a fire like you have Sejanus. Rage. Maybe rage would lift me up, make me stand, make me walk. Maybe rage would fill my heart, allow me to speak out. Or perhaps selfishness. The very thing that fills Coriolanus. Maybe that would make me forget, allow me to lay my head to sleep without guilt eroding my bones, without empathy filling my lungs like smoke, suffocating my very breath. If only my heart were as cold as I pretend it is, maybe I could get over this."
"You love him too much." Sejanus muttered, glancing over to the motionless body of his dearest friend. His only friend. "His heart is filled with spite, he has no room to love anyone else but you love him." "He loves me Sejanus." Donna spat, her eyes full of distaste. "Perhaps he does. But his desire for power power will always dominate his desire for you. He may love you but your love for him is more than what he holds for you. Isn't that right?"
Donna closed her eyes, "I can't hear you if my eyes are closed." "That's not how that works." "I love him." "You do." "I love him so dearly, I'm afraid my love will swallow him. Drown him. Suffocate him." "Or his desire will swallow you." Sejanus countered, his deep brown eyes piercing into her skull. Donna wanted to be mad, she did but all she could do was smile. "You have that fire I dream of Sejanus. Never extinguish it."
"If it's extinguished Donna, I can assure you I won't be the one to have done so."
"Belladonna," a voice muttered, her heart began to race. "Corio." She took her hand from Sejanus, cupping his face. "Oh thank the heavens you're okay." She leaned over him, placing a kiss to his forehead. "What happened?" He questioned.
"It was a rebel bombing." Sejanus explained in a somber tone, "They must have been planning it for months, four tributes were killed." Donna frowned at the way his voice cracked at the end.
"Everyone's terrified, people are locking themselves in their houses." Donna explained. "The rebels released a message, they said they want to tear down the symbol of the Hunger Games on live TV. Marcus got out."
Coriolanus lifted himself off his pillow in shock but they all knew there was no where he could run that Peacekeepers's wouldn't find him.
"He's the only one." Sejanus continued, "Peacekeepers are hunting him in the streets but at least he has a better chance out there than he would tomorrowโ"
"Tomorrow." The weak boy cut him off, frowning. "They're not still going ahead with the games...." Sejanus hung his head, guilt filling him at the Capitol's persistence. Donna took her hand back in hers, squeezing it softly.
Coriolanus frowned. He was out for like two seconds and now they're friends?
"Oh no, Lucy Grey, Lucy Grey could have run, but she stopped to save me." He panicked, "She was dragged out by Peacekeepers." Donna replied.
"Now our final tribute," Lucky Flickerman's voice faintly buzzed from the television, "I first met this young lady at the zoo, not too long ago." Coriolanus lifted himself off his bed to watch his tribute display her talent. "Lucy Gray Baird, come out here, you songbird!" Corio took his girlfriend's hand in his, using it to limp towards the televison, turning up the volume. Donna's soft eyes studied his face.
He looked pale with his eyes drained and blonde curls messy. Her eyes filled with worry, he noticed, worry over him. Her thoughts since he had gotten hurt consisted only of him and his well being. He couldn't help but smirk, how great it felt to be loved so dearly.
"Thank you for being here." He turned to Tigris and Sejanus first, giving them a nod. He looked to his left to see Belladonna. Scared Belladonna. Vulnerable Belladone. Sweet, lovesick Belladonna. His Belladonna.
His Belladonna who had left him in the arena to die. Sure he heard her cries for him, saw her desperate attempt to break out of Sejanus's grasp to rush over to him but if she truly loved him, she would have found a way. She would have been the one under the rubble.
Is that what he wanted? For the Capitol Diamond to be the one in his position? No, he couldn't bare to see Donna in pain, but imagine the sympathy he'd get from politicians and game makers alike. Their precious diamond fallen, and the one who loved her most heartbroken.
He smiled at her, "Left me to die is that how it is?" His voice a low whisper, careful as to not let Sejanus and Tigris hear. "You don't truly love me do you? You'd didn't help me." He spat lowly. "I tried Coriolanus, truly I did." "Not hard enough evidently."
His eyes turned back to the screen, Lucy Grey was a talented singer. Her voice bringing the nurse down the hall to her knees, tears in her eyes. Lucy Grey had saved him. Not Belladonna. He could make Lucy Grey into a spectacle, a marvel. He could build her up. Unlike Donna, who would never have to rely on him to succeed.
He looked back over at his girlfriend, tears pricking her eyes, a pitiful expression on her face as she gazed at him. He almost felt guilty for making such a beautiful thing like her so upset. Almost.
His thumb brushed the tears threatening to spill from her eyes, cupping her jaw he place a long, gentle kiss to her lips. She smiled into the kiss, her legs almost giving way. Coriolanus smirked.
"Coryo?" Tigres spoke, interrupting the two. "You should head to bed. And Donna dear you should head home, you must prepare for your dinner with the president." Of course the president would still find a way to have Donna in his company despite recent events. Donna nodded, letting go of his hand. "I'll see you tomorrow Corio." She muttered, Sejanus offered his arm to her as the two made their way out of the hospital room.
Coriolanus was not an idiot, he knew why she attended these dinner with the president. Flirting with politicians, the wealthiest men on Panem. Adorning herself in sultry outfits. It was all to keep the Infernos where they needed to be. At the top.
But it never mattered. They did not have her in the way he did.
In the realm of beauty, Belladonna Inferno emerges as a celestial muse, her presence akin to an ethereal dance. A canvas of mocha-hued allure, her skin, kissed by the sun's artistry, resonates with a subtle luminosity. Almond-shaped eyes, windows to an enigmatic universe, hold stories untold, shimmering with depths of mystery and allure, holding secrets as tender as stardust, inviting hearts to navigate their cosmic expanse.Cascading obsidian strands, a silken ode to midnight, weave tales of passion through the night's soft caress. They weaved a poetic tapestry around a visage adorned by chiseled cheekbones and a sculpted jawline. Belladonna Inferno, a symphony of grace and singularity. Belladonna Inferno, a poetic sonnet etched on the parchment of the souls of all who knew her, where each glance unveils a verse, and every heartbeat echoes a symphony of love.
Belladonna was an ethereal beauty. The fantasy of Capitol men and women alike. And she was his. They could laugh, touch her, fantasize about the chance of even being with her. But she belonged to him.
His Belladonna. She would forever remain by his side, not only as the future First Lady of Panem, but as his darling wife. The Diamond of the Capitol and his pretty little doll. He would dress her up to be the perfect wife, walk and talk and act like he need her to. Not that he needed to work on that much, ever the proper lady. And the best part was, she would let him without hesitation.ย
Her heart was so full of him, it was hardly her own. And that was a power no amount of money could buy.
๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐!
Not proofread, never will be proofread. I have said it and I will say it again. Coriolanus is not a good person, so this story isn't meant to be romanticized. If it's not obvious Donna loves him not because she's also a bad person but because something's clearly wrong. (With what? I won't say)
(Are we fucking with the new theme?)
