Godiva asked, the two girls sat on her bed now in their pyjamas, disbelief still hung in the air. Donna nodded. "Asmodeus stabbed our maid in chest during the dark days. We were starving. He said it's what had to be done to ensure our survival." Godiva nodded slowly, picking at her fingernails. "Mother killed my father's mistress during the dark days. I didn't see her die exactly but we were starving as well."
A blanket of think silence covered the room. "Do you think I'll ever forget?" Godiva asked, tears brimming her large brown eyes. "Ever forget her? How she screamed? Her body going limp?"
Donna shook her head sadly, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder. She knew no response would make the situation better.
They'd have to remember her longer than they knew her and she didn't think she'll ever come to terms with that.

Highbottom stood at the entrance of the hall, addressing his students. "Our president has decided that the games must go on. Show everyone that the Capitol's un afraid of such acts of terror. To which Dr. Gaul wishes you to preview the Arena this afternoon with your tributes. Later this evening, there will be a special televised presentation of each tribute for our audience to, now get them. You will have an hour to discuss strategy."
"You may begin."
Donna took her seat across from Sabyn with a smile. The girl frowned in return, not that she anticipated a different response. She slid her a bottle of juice and a sandwich.
Sabyn stared at her with suspicion, Donna shrugged. "Eat it or don't Sabyn, that doesn't concern me." "Oh but it does," the girl snarled, "you need me to survive for your little project." "I don't need you to do anything except live." Sabyn rolled her eyes.
"For your grade?" "For yourself." The two stared at each other, a beat passed. Another. Sabyn unwrapped the sandwich slowly. "Sorry about your classmate yesterday." She muttered, Donna frowned, holding back the tears than began to prick her eyes.
"It's fine." She muttered, "You're not the one who killed her." Sabyn shrugged, "She deserved it." "No one deserves to die Sabyn." Belladonna muttered. "If that were true, we wouldn't be here would we?" "You shouldn't be here to begin with.
That's out of my control however."
Sabyn nodded, "So you don't want me to win? It seems so as you're not giving me any advice. Well I want you to live but I don't care if you win." "So you don't care if I live." "No I want you to live but saying i want you to win is saying I want everyone else to die." "So you want me to die?" "Eat your damn sandwich Sabyn." The girl chuckled, taking another bite.
"Did you share?" "Share what?" "The food." Sabyn screwed the lid off the glass bottle, allowing the cool liquid to kiss her lips before pausing. "This ain't poisoned is it?" Donna rolled her eyes. "Why don't you find out?" Sabyn stuck her tongue out, taking a sip. "I did share actually. Aren't you proud?" She teased. "I am actually." She nodded, glancing at her watch. They were running out of time.
"We're running low on time just- just collect as many weapons as you can and please I beg you, don't kill Wovey." "If I don't kill her someone else will." Sabyn noted. "I know but, she's so young. If she goes out I want it to be something less brutal okay?" Sabyn nodded. "You know Belladonna, you're one of the first capitol citizens I met, and you don't seem to be happy with who you are."
Donna tilted her head, crossing her arms across her chest. "You're pretty, you're rich, your boyfriend seems like a charming gentleman. Essentially you have it all but you still don't seem to like who you are, while I know so many people who would kill to be you. Literally. Why is that?"
Donna chuckled, smiling softly. "Nothing in life is perfect, for anyone no matter how rich or pretty or perfect. Everything has a dark side." "I find that hard to believe." "You don't have to believe me if you don't want to, I definitely don't have it as hard as you." The girl nodded, the dark haired girl from the Capitol didn't seem like the type who would complain even though she had so much. "How do you see through it?" "I have a light."
"A light?" Sabyn titled her head, "Where is it?" Donna smiled, pointing her finger towards a tall blonde boy.
