Chapter 3 - Stalking...Sort Of

"I want to go get the new game, come on, you know you want to play it too!" Tommy whined.

I sighed, my arms still crossed over my chest. He'd been at it all morning to get me to take him to go get the latest video game that had been released. He pouted then and finally, I broke. I let out another sigh and he pumped his fist in the air, knowing he'd won.

"Come on, squirt, let's go." I said in defeat as I walked out the door.

Tommy ran to catch up to me and skipped down the street, cheering. A few minutes later, we arrived at the store and he zipped inside. I leaned against the brick wall of the building outside to wait for him. Nothing in that store interested me. I closed my eyes and my mind went back to the wolf. I don't know why I kept thinking about the creature.

It was probably just some wild animal that had wandered too far and just ended up in the city. But when I opened my eyes, they connected with a stranger's and I forgot all about that mysterious wolf. Instead, I focused on the mysterious boy before me - the one from the Kafe. He looked just like he had that day although today he was wearing a white t-shirt with those same dark skinny jeans. And there was a necklace at the base of his neck. He didn't smile though, just walked on by.

Before I even had the chance to go after him, Tommy came out the door of the store. He smiled up at me and I grinned when I saw the video game in his hands.

"Found it then?" I asked, gesturing to it.

He nodded happily and I pushed my hands into my jeans pockets.

"Tommy, do you think you can make it home on your own? And go straight back, mind you, no short-cuts?" I asked him, arching an eyebrow.

He sighed and nodded, "Sure, Jemma."

"Okay. I'll meet you back at the house later." I told him.

"Whatever." he shrugged.

He scoffed then and ran down the sidewalk until I could no longer see him. Tommy was a cute kid and sweet too...but only when he wanted to be. Most of the time he just used people to get what he wanted. I knew that too when I decided to take him. But I'd needed some fresh air and it was a good excuse. Without another thought, I started to follow the mystery boy.

He couldn't have gone too far, I'd only spent a few minutes talking to Tommy. I wove my way through the maze of streets and then out of the corner of my eye, I saw him round the corner up ahead. Speeding up a bit, I hurried to catch up with him. I turned the corner but suddenly I was grabbed roughly by the shoulders and shoved up against the brick wall. A groan emitted from my lips and I glanced up at my attacker. Chocolate-brown met my own dark orbs - the mystery boy!

"Why are you following me?" he bit out, his hands still holding onto me tightly.
