Chapter 3
"Ne, [n/n]- I mean, [v/n]," yelled Toga, and you twisted your head to look at the cheery female. She was grinning, as usual, and you sighed. "Wanna play hide and seek?" you shook your head.
"No thanks," you replied, and the blonde deflated. She looked up at you, whining once more.
"Why not~?" whined Toga, and you looked her in the eye. "It'll be fun! Even Dabi is playing! Right, Dabi?" the scarred male who sat at the other end of the bar shook his head. Toga brightened up, looking at you once more.
"Seeeeee, I told you!" grinned Toga, and you honestly wondered how she was a villain. "Come on!" she urged, and you shook your head once more.
"I can't," you answered, and Toga looked extremely confused. "It's impossible to play two games of hide and seek at the same time, after all."
Toga looked extremely confused at this, tilting her head as she furrowed her eyebrows.
"Huhh?" asked Toga. "You're already playing with someone else?"
You nodded, smiling ruefully at the good old memories of you and your..childhood friend.
"Yes, I've been playing for the past.." you counted on your fingers, a thoughtful expression on your face as you did so. "14 years."
Toga's honey colored eyes widened, and she gaped at you as you cracked a smile. Those were nice times, sure, but things change.
Things change way too quickly, sometimes.
"Woah, are you still playing?" Toga asked, and you thought about it, looking up at the ceiling and pressing a finger to your cheek. "That's a loooonnng time!"
Her eyes shone, and you chuckled at the villain's expressions.
"Hm, I don't know," you muttered, squinting your eyes. "It really depends on whether they're still looking for me, or not." Toga suddenly smiled, her sharp canine teeth becoming revealed once more.
Her gold eyes shone with excitement at the idea of such a long game, however, you wouldn't relate. The game had taken its toll.
"I bet they are!" she chirped, and you smiled at her happy demeanor. She nodded to confirm it once more and your smile widened. Patting the blonde on the head, you looked down into your drink and took a sip, closing your eyes and answering shortly after.
"Maybe."

"We have yet to get a lock on her."
A certain winged hero stood in front of both a detective and a police officer, a small frown on his face. He shrugged.
"No biggie," Hawks shrugged, looking up at the sky he turned to leave. "I'm sure she'll show up eventually."
He walked along the street, too lazy to fly. In all honesty, Keigo would sometimes much rather take his time walking, and enjoying the scenery than fly at top speeds and miss it. Sure, there were times where flying was nice, but walking was also acceptable.
"I'm sure she'll turn up.." Keigo muttered to himself, looking upwards as a single raindrop fell form the sky.
Soon enough, it was pouring, the sky darkening within minutes. Keigo continued walking, unfazed, even as he felt his wings droop from the water. His hair got soaked and his boots splashed through the puddles, but he didn't mind.
Clouds shifted to over the sun, water sliding down the streets as people quickly found shelter in either their homes or a store.
Keigo paused his walking for a moment, right in front of a large sakura tree.
He remembered that tree.
"Look how pretty it is!"
"It's such a nice color.."
"Hey, let's write our names here! So we won't ever forget that we're besties!"
Keigo walked closer to the large tree, reaching out and running a thumb across the faint letters that were carved messily into the wood, no doubt by a child's hand.
There were four letters in total: separated by a plus sign. They were growing faint, worn out, but they were still there and distinguishable by human eyes.
"I miss you.."
The rain poured down harder, the pro hero now completely soaked. Yet he paid it no heed, continuing to stare at the letters on the tree with his head bowed. His usually bright golden eyes narrowed, Keigo watched the rain slide down the trunk of the tree as he stayed in place.
