Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β ELENA WAS THE one to take Violet home after they had buried Connor. The two were sitting in silence for a while, parked infront of Violet's house.
Violet who wanted to make her mind stop thinking about what she had just did, questioned Elena about Stefan's weird behavior.
Elena let out a deep sighed before she continued, "I know that he's keeping some kind of secret from all of us. Because he wouldn't team up with Klaus if it wasn't something important. But I don't know why he's not telling anyone and I also know that Jeremy, Ethan and Tyler are also somehow entangled in all of this."
Violet immediately frowned at her, "Ethan?"
"Yeah, Jeremy was compelled, but he remembered that he was hanging out with Ethan and Tyler yesterday, but the hunger said that he was with him", Elena explaining to her while she sighed.
"I'm gonna talk to Ethan tomorrow, maybe he'll tell me something", Violet promised Elena before they said their goodbyes and Violet got out of the car.
It was already dark outside when Violet made her way inside and her mother was apparently still working.
The dark haired girl made her way inside and quickly got ready to sleep her worries from that day off.
Violet was still tortured by her thoughts about Connor when she got ready for bed and then drifted off into a light sleep.
She had hoped for a relaxing and recovering sleep but instead Violet was having a nightmare about Connor. She was tossing and turning in her bed until she awoke and sat straight up in her bed.
She imagined that she could still taste his blood on her tongue when she sat up straight and she was covered in sweat.
The dark haired girl made her way downstairs to make herself a cup of tea. She put it in the microwave and waited for the beeping tone, but her attention was drawn towards someone behind her who spoke, "Can't sleep?"
Violet jumped and immediately spun around, but there was no one there. The dark haired girl flinched again when the microwave was beeping behind her.
She took out her cup and flinched once again when Connor was suddenly standing right besides her. The man was casually leaning against the sink, "You know, it makes sense. Guilty conscious."
Violet stumbled back from him, her face showing her terror. "You're not here, you can't be. I'm- I've gotta be dreaming."
Connor suddenly took a step towards her, "How do you know that I'm not here?"
"Because you're d-", Violet stopped while she looked at him in fear. Connor nodded at her, encouraging her, "Go on, say it."
"You're dead", Violet finished her sentences. Connor still nodded again, "Yes, I am. - Was that the first time that you've taken a human life?"
"You're a ghost. You're a ghost. That's what's happening right now-" Violet closed her eyes and started rambling to calm herself down. "You're a ghost, you're haunting me. You're a ghost, you're haunting me."
Connor raised an eyebrow at her, "Can a ghost do this?" The man suddenly attacked her and started choking her, but Violet pushed him away from her and he fell against the table.
She immediately grabbed a on afhe kitchen knife from the knife block and when the man was close enough she rammed the knife into his throat.
Connor started coughing and the blood was coming out of his mouth before he suddenly disappeared and Adrian took his place.
Violet immediately yanked the knife out of his neck and Adrian's eyes were filled with fear while he was grasping at his neck for air.
Violet immediately let go of the knife, her eyes watering up, "Oh my God!"
Adrian fell to the ground and Violet immediately bit into her wrist before she placed it onto his throat. The dark haired girl was crying while she tried to make him swallow some how but he couldn't.
Violet was screaming in terror while she tried to save his life when her eyes suddenly fell onto the Gilbert ring he was wearing on his finger.
The girl immediately felt how her heart was lighter the moment she had spotted that ring on him. Elena must've given it to him after Alaric's death.
Violet saw that her arms were covered in her brother's blood when she pulled Adrian over to the couch and pulled him up onto the couch.
The next thing she did was call Damon. To her luck he picked up at the third ring and he promised her to immediately come over.
As soon as she had let Damon inside the man immediately took in the scene. On the kitchen floor was a large puddle of blood and the knife was still laying right besides her.
"I can't believe this happen. What am I going to say to him?", Violet said while she watched Adrian, who was laying on their couch, apparently still on the other side, on the search for his body.
"Thanks for accepting the ring from Elena after it drove Ric crazy?", Damon sarcastically stated while he gave her a smirk, but Violet couldn't even muster the strength to shoot him a look because she was so worried about her brother and felt guilty because she was the cause of his short-term death.
Damon gave her an apologizing look, "You should've called Ethan and Stefan."
Violet immediately felt the anger rise in her chest, "I don't wanna talk to either of them. They lied and hid things from us."
Damon still repeated his words, "You should've called Stefan and Ethan."
"I don't want them here right now, Damon", Violet tried to make him understand.
She has just ended the sentence when the doors suddenly opened and Stefan and Ethan entered the living room. "Hey."
"P.S. I called Stefan and Ethan." Damon gave her a guilty look while Violet gave him a death stare.
"What happened? Why didn't you call me?", Ethan immediately questioned the girl worried while he walked towards her.
Violet immediately took a step back from him and held her in blood covered arms up for them to see, "I need to go upstairs and shower. Clean all the blood off my hands."
The dark haired girl knew that she was probably being hard on Ethan, but she was just so angry at him from keeping something that must be important form her.
The girl was searching through he drawer when Ethan entered the room.
"Violet?", his voice suddenly questioned her when he entered her room and Violet sighed deeply. "I don't want to see you. You disappeared for days- and now you come here and think everything is fine?"
The dark haired girl stood up from her bed while she walked over to her closet.
"I have a good reason- I promise you. Just let me help right now", Ethan told her while he wtached the girl gather her clothes.
Violet gave him a glare, "I don't want your help, Ethan. I'm not speaking to you until I know why the hunter was so important to you and Stefan."
"But you'll accept Damon's", the man stated and Violet immediately gave him a death glare. "Don't make this about Damon. You've been working with Klaus doing God knows what. And don't insult me by denying it."
The hybrid gave her a look that showed that he didn't knew what to do anymore, "I'm sorry, Violet. I do what I have to do- you'll understand once you know everything."
"I know that I don't want to see you right now. I don't wanna talk to you and I don't want to be near you." The girl sighed deeply before she looked down at her hands, her eyes then snapped up and met Ethan's. She held her hands up for him to see, "This is my brothers blood on my hands- I stabbed him in the neck last night. I think I'm owned an explanation, so forgive me if I'm not in the moode to listen to you trying to talk your way out of this!"
There was a silence laying between them before Violet threw the door close in Ethan's face.
Violet was still angry when she was showering. Alone with her thoughts once again when she looked down into the tub and saw blood filling up the the floor.
Her eyes wandered from her arms up towards the showerhead, but her arms were clean and there was only clear water coming out of the shower.
Violet immediately grabbed her towel before she wrapped herself up in it and quickly changed into her clothes.
The dark haired girl then entered her room and dried her hair infront of her mirror before Connor suddenly appeared behind her.
Violet suddenly spun around to him, her eyes filled with fear.
Connor tapped his thumb into his bloody wound on his back and offered it up to her. "Would you like some? You seemed to enjoy it when you drank from me."
Violet leaned against her drawer while she watched the man walk closer to her, "I wasn't myself. I was angry-"
Connor's eyes narrowed at her while he spoke, "Were you yourself when you snapped my neck with your bare hands?"
"You staked me!", Violet exclaimed at him, anger in her voice. "Because you're a monster and you deserve to die!", he walked closer towards her while he screamed back at her. "Admit it."
"No-", her voice was raised before she pushed past the hunter and hurried downstairs into the kitchen, where Damon was cleaning the kitchen.
"Damon-", her voice was laced with fear while she approached the familiar man.
But suddenly there was the hunter taking Damons place and Violet immediately stopped in her track. The man turned towards her, his face expression filled with hatred, "Decomposition starts in the first 24 hours. I'm rotting in an unmarked grave because of you."
Connor took a couple of steps towards her and she immediately flinched back from him, "No!"
Damon who has just walked towards her was shocked by her reaction to him. "What's wrong?- Violet?"
The man immediately hurried after the woman, who made her way outside onto her front porch.
In the moment she had entered the front porch she was immediately wished away by someone and when she opened her eyes again she saw no other than Klaus.
The girl gave him a death gakfe and struggled against his hold while Klaus still held a firm grip on her neck. "Let go of me!"
The man shoved her into a dim lit room before he spoke, a smirk on his face, "Certainly - I apologize for the lack of windows it's to preserve the art. And of course to prevent you from taking off your daylight ring and burning yourself to death in the sun."
Violet gave him a surprise look, "I'm not gonna kill myself. I would never do that."
"Oh, but you'll want to-", the man stated simply, which caught Violet's attention. "I did- problem is, I'm immortal."
"You went through this?", the girl questioned him and the original vampire nodded. "Yes, I did. For 52 years, four months and nine days. I was tormented in my dreams, my every waking moment. Relentless, never-ending torture. It was the only period of my life when I actually felt time."
"So you knew that this would happen if Connor died. That's why you got involved. Did Stefan and Ethan knew too?"
Klaus raised his eyebrows at her while she smirked, "Ethan knew a little bit about the hunter but Stefan only knew that the hunter had to be kept alive. You should've listened to him, when he said he had it covered, love."
"What else is there?", Violet questioned him curiosity and Klaus shrugged with a smirk on his face. "Well, that's one's of life's little mysteries, isn't it?"
He then spun on his heels and went for the door.
Violet didn't want to be alone with her thoughts, so she decided to keep the conversation going, "How do you make it stop?"
Klaus sighed when he turned to face her once more, "I didn't. Eventually, it just stopped. The hallucinations tend to appear in strange forms."
He then knocked at the door and a hybrid opened it for him, the man gave Violet one last smirk, "Don't say I didn't warn you."
Violet wanted to follow after him, but the hybrid closed the door in her face.
The dark haired girl sighed while she sat down on the couch that stood in the middle of the room.
It felt like hours had passed by when the door opened again and a hybrid walked in, a bag in his hand that he placed on her bed. "Clothes, toothbrush - Klaus said you're gonna be here until he figures out where to put you."
Violet saw Connor behind the hybrid when he turned towards her and she sighed deeply while she started to tub her temples, "Just please, go away-"
The hybrid just turned around and exit the room, but to Violet's dismay, Connor stayed, "I can't - I'm gonna be with you forever. A constant reminder of what you've become. So tell me- how did it feel to drain the life out of me?"
Violet sighed deeply before she spoke, "It was the worst thing that I've ever done."
Connor gave her a death glare while he shook his head, "You're lying."
"No, I'm not!", Violet immediately shot back at him. The annoyance growing inside of her.
"Yes, you are. Tell the truth", Connor snapped at her. Violet gave him a pointed glare, "I am telling the truth."
"You're lying!", Connor screamed at her and Violet finally broke, admitting what she had tried to suppress so long. "Fine! I liked it! I loved the taste of your blood. Are you happy now!?"
Connor's gaze seemed like he was in disbelief while he spoke, "I'm not happy, Violet- I'm dead."
There was silence laying over the room, while Violet avoided eye contact with him. After a moment Connor broke the silence, "Did you know I had a family? A brother. Parents."
"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry", Violet started whimpering while the tears formed in her eyes.
"Are you sorry about your father-", Connor suddenly questioned her and Violets eyes immediately met his. "Don't."
"I'm not gonna stop until you've taken your last miserable breath", Connor promised her while he stepped closer to the girl.
Violet was trying to seem confident while she stared into his eyes, "I'm not gonna let you do this to me."
Connor started laughing while he watched her walk through the room, "Then get rid of me. Kill yourself. You never wanted to be a vampire in the first place. Now look at what you've become. You're a monster- and you deserve to die."
Violet covered her ears with her hands and turned her back towards him.
"You don't wanna listen to me? Fine", she could still hear his voice before it suddenly disappeared.
Violet turned around and her heart skipped a beat when she came face to face with Katherine. She had always hated that woman, and Katherine has always hated her.
The brunette woman smirked at her while she spoke, "The how about you and I have a little chat?"
Violet frowned at her, "Katherine?" The vampire arrogantly smirked at her, "Did you miss me?"
She circled around the newbie vampire while she eyed them, "It was always poor, helpless Elena, always the victim. I guess you've taken her place now."
She then came to a stand infront of her, her eyebrows raised at her, "What does Damon think of the new you?- I bet he loves it."
"Shut up", Violet immediately shot at her and Katherine smirked at her. "You're like me now. Maybe worse."
"It was a mistake-", Violet exclaimed quickly while she stared at the brunette.
Katherine narrowed her eyes at her, "You're a vampire - you'll kill again. It'll change you and it'll keep changing you- until you're just like me."
"Shut up! I am nothing like you!", Violet screamed at Katherine, who suddenly disappeared into thin air. But after a small moment she reappeared again.
Her eyes were still narrowed at Violet while she walked towards her, "You were such a good girl when you were human. Always willing to sacrifice yourself for your friends. But somehow they still got hurt. Bonnie lost her grams, her mom was turned into a vampire- and you couldn't stop it. She probably secretly hates you- she would probably be relieved if you were gone."
"I'm not gonna kill myself", Violet shot back at her. Katherine immediately sighed loudly, "Why not? You're a monster, Violet. You deserve to die."
Katherine took a step towards her and Violet stumbled back before she sunk down on the couch and Katherine disappeared again.
Suddenly the doors to her room open and Connor walked inside.
Violet immediately flinched back from him, the terror inside her rising, "Stay away from me!"
She immediately grabbed the metal pole that's laid besides her bed and wanted to hit him with it, but the man grabbed her arm and yelled at her, "Violet, stop!"
She immediately pushed him backwards and impaled him with the metal stick before she vamp speeded out the door, leaving Ethan behind, grunting in pain while he pulled the metal pole out of his abdomen.
Meanwhile Violet was already walking through the street of Mystic falls, not really paying attention to where she was going while the voices inside her head were getting louder and louder.
The dark haired girl was fighting them, but she couldn't stop them.
"You're a monster."
"You'll kill again."
"I can't be a vampire."
Suddenly Connor appeared by her side, walking with her down the road, "Are you ready to die yet? You know it's your only way out of this."
Suddenly Katherine appeared on her other side, "You can't take back what you've done. It can never be undone. You're a monster- you deserve to die."
Violet snapped out of it and Katherine and Connor where gone while she realized that she was standing on the whickery bridge where her father had died and where she had been near death only a few weeks ago.
The dark haired brunette slowly approached the edge of the bridge and looked down into the water.
The girl released a deep sighed before a voice suddenly caught her attention. Her head snapped to the person standing besides her and Violet couldn't believe her eyes when she saw her father standing there.
The man had a small smile on his face while he looked at her. Violet frowned at the man, while the tears started whelming up in her eyes, "Dad?"
The man stroked her cheek with his thumb, "I know what you're going through, honey- It's okay."
Violet closed her eyes for a small moment and then opened them again. He was still there, this warm smile on his face while he stroked her cheek, "This bridge is where your life should've ended that night. You were ready to join me, remember?"
"Dad, I don't know what to do."
"Yes, you do, honey. You know exactly what to do-", he retrieved his hand before he glanced down at her daylight ring. Violet immediately followed his gaze and eyed her ring.
Her dad's voice was soft and exactly as warm as she had remembered it. "The sun will come up and this will all be over. You'll be with me- at piece. It's the right thing to do, Violet. You know it is."
Violet slowly nodded her head while the tears started streaming down her face, "I'm a monster- I deserve to die."
The girl quickly took the ring from her finger and threw it into the water beneath the bridge.
Suddenly her thoughts fell on her brother and mother. Her head immediately snapped towards her dad, "Wait- I can't do this! I can't leave Adrian and mom."
"They are better off without you. Don't you see that?", her dad stated while he looked at her. She shook her head, "But, they need me."
He smiled at her, "They'll have you- You'll be a ghost who helps them, not a monster who hurts them."
Violet felt the tears rolling down her face once more while she smiled sadly at her dad, "I- I'm sorry - daddy- I didn't mean to disappoint you."
Her father still had his smile plastered on his face while he whipped some of her tears away from her face, "Oh, you didn't. You were everything I ever wanted you to be. But you died. And you were supposed to stay dead."
"Violet-", Damon's voice suddenly caught her attention. Violet turned towards Damon, who slowly approached her. Her head immediately turned back towards her dad, but he was gone.
She looked back at Damon, curiously, "How did you find me?" The man gave her a worried look, "Didn't take a genius to figure it out."
Violet still felt the dry tears on her cheeks while she nodded her head, "You were right, Damon. Vampires kill people. And Ethan was right too. I can't live with myself."
Damon gave her a forced smile while he watched her carefully, "Look at you, being all glass is half empty. Let's just go talk about this before you do something stupid, okay?"
"The sun will be up soon. It's almost over", Connor's voice filled her ears while he was standing behind her. Violet saw the sun go up in the distance and her gaze fell onto her empty finger.
Damon immediately frowned when he saw that her daylight ring was missing. "Where is your ring?- where is your ring, Violet?"
"We need to get you inside", Damon told her while he took a step towards her.
"It's almost time", Connor assured her.
"What you're going through is a curse. We know how to break it. We just have to get you inside", Damon explained to her but Violet just wanted it to end right now.
Connor was still in her ear, "Don't let him stop you. I know you want to, but you can't. Don't-" Violet took a deep breath while she stared straight ahead, just ignoring Damon.
"Damn it, Violet." Damon suddenly vamp speeded towards her and Violet immediately vamp speeded away from him. They stood in each other's opposite once more while the sun was continuing to go up in the distance.
Suddenly Violet felt a flash going through her whole body and when she opened her eyes, Connor was gone.
The girl immediately felt like a weight was being lifted off her chest, "He's gone!"
"It's okay."
Violet just wanted to take a deep breath when her skin suddenly started burning. The sun was now fully up and Violet was groaning in pain, her eyes meeting Damon's, "Damon-"
The man immediately vamp speeded over to her, grabbed her by her arm and jumped with her into the water making everything go dark for her.
When Violet opens her eyes it was already noon and the sun was shining on her face.
The dark haired girl loved that kind of feeling of the sun on her skin and she smiled slightly to herself while she sat up. Her eyes scanned the room and they found Damon, who was sitting on her window sill while he watched her carefully, "Fished it out of the river for you. Little tip. Vampires hate to swim."
His eyes were traveling down her body while he smiled at her, "How are you feeling?"
Violet was happy about the fact that she was feeling great for the first time in a long time, "My head is finally clear. I can remember everything but not like I lived it. I remember it like it was a dream."
Damon huffed before Violet suddenly realized, "You saved me. Again. Thank you."
"Well, you know what they say about teenage suicide-", the man stated while he sat down besides her on her bed. "Don't do it."
Violet chuckled and he did as well before she spoke once more, "I just can't believe I almost-" Damon placed a hand on her thigh that was cover with her blanked, "You weren't yourself."
Violet placed a hand over his while she looked deeply into his eyes, "Yeah, but if it wasn't for you-"
She stopped in the middle of her sentence and Damons eyes wandered down to their intertwined hands before he met her eyes again and Violet did the same.
His thumb was stroking over the back of her hand while she squeezed his palm softly. A small smile made it's way onto her lips while Damon continued to stroke her hand with his.
The man then sighed deeply, "I'm about to take a very high and annoying road and tell you something. I know you think that Ethan's been withholding information from you, which, yeah, he has, but it's not what you think. Everything he's been doing, he's been doing for you. To help you. And after him and Stefan kill me for telling you this, I want you to throw my ashed off the Wickery bridge, okay?"
Violet chuckled before Damon continued, "There may be a way out of this for one of you, Violet. There may be a cure."
The dark haired girl felt her yaw dropped and her mind immediately rushed back to Ethan and their last conversation before everything went down.
The girl immediately pulled back her duvet and Damon slowly let go of her hand, giving her one last squeeze.
"Is he here?", Violet questioned him while she rose onto her feet and Damon nodded in silence before spoke. "He's downstairs. Front porch."
He gave her a small smile before Violet placed a small kiss on his cheek, "Thank you, Damon." The girl then made her way downstairs and when she opened the front door she came face to face with Ethan.
The boy was leaning against the pilar of the front porch and as soon as Violet spotted him she sighed, "I'm sorry that I stabbed you."
Ethan gave her a small smile and shrugged, "Well- I probably deserved that. So Damon told me that he clued you in."
"You let Damon live?", Violet questioned him while she pointed to her rook upstairs where she had just left Damon behind.
Ethan shook his head at her and walked over to the steps, "No- screw Klaus and his secrets. We all want the same thing. We just have to work together for it."
Violet and Ethan both sat down on the steps before they continued speaking. Violet glanced at Ethan before she slowly spoke, "Ethan- why did you send Damon to come look for me instead of you?"
Violet could see that what he was about to say was torturing him. "I sent him because, lately- it seems like he's able to get through to you in ways I can't", the man stated while he met her eyes, his voice steady but filled with sadness. "You listen to him. You trust him- even when you can't trust me."
"I didn't mean to not-", Violet wanted to apologize to him, but Ethan interrupted her. His eyes were showing his disappointment and it seemed like he was about to break, "Come on, Violet- I mean, after everything we've been through- you don't have to lie, you can admit it."
The girl felt how her eyes were filling with tears and she shook her head while she spoke, her voice shaking, "You've been so strong for me- helping me, fighting for that girl that chose you- the girl that I was when I died in that farm house. And I love you so much for wanting to find this cure. Because I'd like nothing more than to get her back- because the girl that she's become- that I've become- is different. Who I am, what I want."
"What you want- or who you want?", Ethan suddenly interrupted her, his eyes trained on her. He seemed to expect what she was saying before she was even saying it.
Violet sighed deeply, holding the tears back, "Something's changed between Damon and me. Much more than it ever used to be. It's like- it's like everything that I feel for him before I was a vampire-"
"It's been magnified. You're feelings for him have been magnified", Ethan explained for her.
"I'm sorry- I don't wanna lie to you", Violet immediately apologized to him.
"You know, before, when I was gone breaking the sire bond- I somehow understood why you cared for him. I mean, you were lonely and he was there for you when I wasn't", Ethan explained his point of view to her. "But now- I can't do this, Violet. Not anymore."
Violet's eyes filled with tears again while she nodded her head at him this sadness spreading inside of her, "I know."
The two remained silent and Violet gazed out onto the street while she sat beside Ethan, their former affection for one another nowhere to be seen while they both fought their tears back.
