TWO DAYS AFTER THAT moment with Damon, Violet was sitting with him in Elena's kitchen, watching her friend while she was making chili.

"I still don't know why you wanna bring chilli to a potluck. Everybody brings chili", Damon stated bored while he threw a snack into his mouth.

When he ended his sentence Alaric entered the kitch. He had moved back into the house and Elena was very happy about that.

They greeted them with a small smile, "Hey, Ric." He nodded, "What's up?"

"What time do you wanna go to the Lockwood party?", Elena questioned him, seeming a bit stressed out.

"Ahh, those founders partys aren't really my thing", Alaric sighed as he leaned onto the kitchen counter, right next to Violet.

Damon was on her other side of the counter, glancing over at Elena. "There are gonna be nine other people that brought chili."

Elena seemed annoyed as she shot him a glare, "It's an old family recip, okay?"

"Yeah. I knew your old family. They made sucky chili", Damon rolled with his eyes as he grabbed the knife out of Elena's hands.

The brunette shot him a death glare, making Violet chuckle amused.

"Why are you two here, exactly?", Alaric suddenly questioned Damon and Violet, making the dark haired man smirk. "She knows."

Elena looked at Alaric shaking her head, "They think I'm going to break. I'm not going to break. I'm just gonna keep making chili, pretend like I didn't just spent the entired summer looking for a person who didn't want to be found."

Violet eyed her friend, a bit worried, "Elena, you know that you can break. It's okay to cry."

The brunette girl gave her an appreciative look but remained silent.

"Let her be in denial for a bit longer", Damon said as he made eye contact with Violet.

"I'm not in denial", Elena argued back at him with an angry look on her face.
Damon raised a brow at her, "No."

He turned towards Elena and pointed at the necklace around her neck. "You're still wearing the necklace. Isn't this a reminder of your unbreakable bond with Stefan?"

Elena remained silent before she went back to cocking her chili.

Suddenly the doorbell rung, making Elena escaped the further confrontation.

The brunette opened the door and revealed Caroline, who had a large smile plastered on her face. "I come bearing gifts?"

Elena's face expression fell immediately, "Please say that's not chili." Caroline stepped into the house, frowning deeply at her friends reaction before Bonnie came into view.

"Bonnie!"

The witch stretched her arms out, "I'm back!" The two girls hugged and Violet joined them by the door.

Bonnie let her gaze move back and forth between them, "I leave town for the summer and everything goes to hell for both of you?"

She then spotted Violet and smiled again, "V!" The two hugged, but Bonnie was interrupted by Jeremy's voice, calling out for her.

The teenage boy was standing on the stairs, looking down on them, smiling.

"Jeremy!" The two greeted each other happyly, kissing.

After that the four girls made their way back into the kitchen, continuing to cook Elena's chili.

Bonnie sat besides Violet by the kitchen counter, watching Caroline and Elena cook. "The problem with my father's normal side of the family is normal made for a really boring summer."

"After the last few days, I would kill for a normal family", the blond then turned towards Elena, a questioning look on her face. "Since when did you learn how to cook?"

"She didn't. Damon helped her", Violet stated, making Elena smirk at her while she scoffed. "Wow, thank you."

"Damon's helping you cook. He was here with the two of you?", Bonnie questioned them disbelieving.

"Both of you, stop judging. He's just trying to be good-", Elena suddenly began screaming in pain as she grabbed onto her necklace.

Caroline frowned at her, "Did I splash you?" Elena immediately shook her head, "No, no! It's my necklace!"

The girl then held up the silver necklace and there was a red burn mark on her clivage. "It bruned me."

Violet frowned at her friend in worry, but Carolina just shrugged at her, "A sign you shouldn't be wearing it."

Violet shot her a glare, "Caroline." The blond gave them all an innocent look, "What? I'm just saying. If you gonna be cooking without Stefan- "

Elena released a deep annoyed breath and Violet could really understand her.
Bonnie suddenly leaned forward, "Let me see it."

Elena held the necklace up and Bonnie eyed it closely. She touched it carefully and suddenly there was electricity.

Elena immediately let go of the necklace and it landed on the kitchen counter.

The four girls exchange scared glances and then everyone was staring at the necklace.

THE GROUP OF FOUR had relocated in the park, while Bonnie was going through her gremoiar, searching for something that would explain the necklace.

After a while Bonnie let out a huff, "Hey- okay. Got it. I have an identification spell that might be able to tell me what magic affected the necklace."

She carefully took the necklace from Elena's hands and opened her gremoiar. "It's gonna take a while, so tell me if anyone's coming, okay?"

Caroline gave Elena a judging look before she decided to speak up once more, "So, you're not like switching Salvatores, are you?"

Elena gave her a shocked look, "What?"
Bonnie glared at their very extroverted friend, "Caroline!" Caroline just waved Bonnie off, "Stay focused."

She then immediately turned back to Elena, "As your friend, who worries for you dearly what is the deal with you and Damon?"

Elena's eyes widened, while she exclaimed, "There is no deal! And there never will be! If you should talk to anyone about that, you should ask V!"

Caroline's gaze snapped towards the black haired girl, who's eyes widened as well.

Elena gave her an apologizing look, but still continued. "Damon has only eyes for her when he's with any of us."

Violet wanted to say something to Elena, but Caroline interrupted her. "Whatever. That makes him still not any less Damon. If my own father, who I love dearly, can't change me, no one's changing Damon, not even you, V."

The dark haired girl looked at her deadly, "Why are we even talking about this? There is no deal. He's been just as focused on finding Stefan as we are. And I have a boyfriend!"

Caroline let out a huff while he gave Violet a questioning look, "Lookwoods aren't always easy to be with as well."

Violet immediately shot her a dark look, she didn't even want to argue with the blond in the first place. Why was Caroline so eager to start an argument with her.

"Hey. Guys!", Bonnie's voice suddenly caught their attention.

Their heads snapped towards the dark skinned girl, and Violet's eyes widened when she saw the necklace float into the air.

"What are you doing?"

"I'm not doing anything", Bonnie answered Caroline in painc. The girl eyed the necklace carefully, "It has it's own magic."

There was not much Violet could help with concerning the necklace, so she went home and prepared for the founders party.

Later that night the founders party turned out to be pretty boring and Violet was relived when they made their way out of the building.

"Did Stefan ever tell you where he got the necklace?", Caroline questioned Elena curiously.

"No and I never asked. Hopefully Bonnie will figure it out", the brunette mumbled before Alaric suddenly joined them. "Please tell me it's time to go."

Elena nodded at him, seeming pretty exhausted from this day, "Beyond. Where's Damon?"

"Probably off somewhere doing bad things to good people", Caroline stated before Violet gave her a death glare.

"Consider me the honestly police!", the blond smiled at her friend, with a face that said, please don't be mad at me.

But suddenly her smile disappeared and she stepped besides Violet. "What's the matter?"

"It's my Dad", Caroline told them in a low tone. "Why would he show up here?", Elena frowned surprised.

"I don't know. But I can't-", the blond shook her head while she was slightly tearing up. Elena nodded her head understanding, "I get it. I call you later."

"Okay." And with that the blond disappeared quickly into the next room.

Alaric seemed quite confused by Caroline's behavior. "Okay, what was that all about?"

"Speaking of doing bad things to good people", Elena stated before she nodded towards the door. Alaric understood and immediately followed the two teenagers out of the Lookwood Mansion.

"Wait, Houston, we have a problem!", Damon's voice suddenly could be heard from behind them. While Violet walked down the stairs, she frowned at him, "Where have you been?"

"Managing Bill Forbes. He's impervious to compulsion", the dark haired man sattes when he had finally caught up with them.

"How?"

"I have no idea. But he threatened to out me. Don't get me started on the irony of that!", he stated while he looked straight forward.

Violet had a weird feeling in her gut, that nagging one that said, he's hiding something. The black haired girl eyed him curiously, "What'd you do? How do you know compulsion doesn't work?"

"That's not the most important piece of information I mentioned, Violet", the man immediately tried to deflect her question.

"Well, what does he want?", Alaric suddenly questioned him and Damon answered sceptical, "To control the Council. Says it's been compromised."

"It has!", Alaric immediately shot back at him with wide eyes. Damon just ignored his statement and continued his rant, "He want's to put vervain in the water."

"Maybe it's not a bad Idea. I mean it will help you keep yourself in control now that Stefan is not here to-", Elena told the vampire with raised eyebrows.

"To what?", he immediately spat at her annoyed. The dark haired man then turned to face the three, angry, "To keep me in check? Make me behave? - Should have killed him."

"Don't say that! He's Caroline's Dad, Damon!", Violet immediately shot at him with a death stare. She couldn't believe that he would even consider such an awful thing.

"Yeah, when I kill him she'll have one more parent than Elena and I", Damon stated like it was a joke, like it was supposed to be funny, making Elena roll with her eyes in anger.

Alaric immediately stepped into his way, "Oh, come on Damon!"

"You're repeatedly killing my buzz today, Ric! Step aside", Damon immediately warned him in a low, angered tone, titling his head slightly to the side.

Alaric didn't move while they stared into each other's eyes, "Yeah, it's not gonna happen."

Alaric placed a hand on Damon's chest when he wanted to walk by, which made Damon's gaze wandere slowly down to Alaric's hand.

The Vampire sighed deeply before he met Rick's gaze again, "Your temporary funeral."

Violet's eyes widened and she wanted to stop him, but before she could even end her word, Damon snapped Alaric's neck.

"Damon, no!"

The man besides them fell to the ground, now laying in that grass before Violet let her gaze quickly wander over their surroundings.

"What the hell is wrong with you!", the dark haired girl then exclaimed at him, the anger clear in her voice.

Damon met her gaze for a short moment, but then made his way past her, back into the Lookwood Mansion.

Elena sighed before she immediately pulled out her phone, calling Caroline, who was probably with Tyler.

There was a moment of silence before Elena gave Violet a look, speaking into the phone, "It's an emergency."

"Damon just snapped Alaric's neck. And I think your Dad is next", Violet spoke while she took a step closer to Elena.

"He's on his way to your dad", Elena stated before she hung up.

"Okay. Come on!", the brunette then exclaimed before they started to approached the Mansion.

Violet had just rounded the corner to the office when she spotted Damon, who had Caroline in a choke hold pressed onto the desk. "I'm strong then you little girl!"

"Well I'm angrier!", Caroline exclaimed loudly before she yanked his hand to the side and hit her head against his.

Damon grunted in pain before Caroline kicked him off of her, making him collide with the wall. The blond then quickly grabbed her father and vamp speeded away.

Elena gave Damon one last disapproving head shake before she also left the room.

Violet on the other hand remained standing by the door, eyeing the heavy panting man on her opposite.

Damon still laid on the ground sighting, "Bummer. I love a good girl-fight."

Violet immediately felt the rage shoot through her again when she heard the sarcasms in his voice.

The girl shook her head at him, her eyes still focused on him, while they teared up slightly. "You can't do this anymore, Damon. We talked about this. I can't- You can't do this around me!"

Her voice was low but steady as she spoke, but she seemed totally outraged.

Damon finally stood up, looking at her, the blood of Caroline's father still on his lips. "Why not? Nothing I haven't done before. Why is it suddenly so important for everyone to keep me in check?!"

The man took a couple of steps towards her. Violet wanted to hurt him, she really wanted to hurt him. Not physically, well maybe a bit, but mostly she wanted her words to sting. "It's important to me because I don't want you to be what other people think that you are!"

"What? A monster? Sorry to disappoint you Violet, but last time I checked, I was still a vampire!", he spat at her, his voice loud and filled with venom while his face was filled with rage.

The dark haired girl felt her eyes tear up more and more. But despite that, she desperately tried to hold her tears back as good as she could, "Yeah well, I wish you didn't have to act like one all the time!"

He was now standing right infront of her, looking down to meet her gaze, seeming completely cold, "I'm not Stefan, Violet! How about you stop trying to turn me into him!"

Violet frowned immediately, she didn't want him to be like Stefan. She just wanted him to stop acting like a fucking psycho everytime something didn't immediately go his way.

The man gave her one last glare, before he left the dark haired girl behind in the study.

Only now Violet finally let the tears roll down her cheeks. The black haired girl slung her arms around herself, trying to contain her sobbing while she felt her heart stinging.

That night Violet didn't sleep much and the next morning she met up with Caroline and Elena.

Caroline had worries about her dad and Elena was as usual really depressed about her situation with Stefan, so they all needed a girls talk.

"I'm not gonna tell you I told you so", Caroline assured Violet while the two and Elena made their way through the park. Volet nodded thankfully at her friend, "Thank you."

"But I did tell you", the blond then stated, giving her a pointed look. Violet remained silent, thinking about everything that went down since Stefan left.

Her gaze met Elena's, who smiled at her while interlocking their arms. "You were right and Damon was also right. I was trying to change him. But he wants to be in my life- and I can't let him, if he's behaving like-"

"No, wait- I- It's been a long week, so I'm just gonna be blunt. It doesn't matter what Damon does. Damon's gotten under your skin", the blond interrupted her friend, making them stop walking.

Violet immediately felt this weird feeling in her stomach before she shook her head quickly, "That's not true. I have Ethan-"

Caroline covered her face with her hands, sighting loudly before she looked back at Violet, "God, just admitted, V! Okay? You are attracted to him, in all of his bad-brother glory!"

Violet shook her head once more, "No! I don't know what you're talking about."

"No, you're not attracted to him or no you won't admit it?", the blond snapped back at her loudly. Violet's eyes widened before she let the word leave her mouth, "I can't, Caroline!"

There was a silence between the three before Violet shook her head and looked to the ground. "Because if I admit it, there's no going back. And I have Ethan, I mean what person would I be if I would even think about it."

Caroline stayed silent before her gaze wandered off to Elena, "And don't think I forgot you. I don't want to fight with you guys but you have to get a grip. Elena, I mean open your eyes, you have feelings for Adrian."

Elena exchanged a quick look with Violet, who didn't seem surprised at all. "No, definitely not."

"Oh, come on! Don't make me work for it so hard!", Caroline exclaimed before she gave Elena a nudge.

"It's obvious to everyone who sees you two together!", the blond stated and Elena's face expression saddened.

"Okay, that's enough Caroline", Violet warned the blond, but she just ignored her.

"Admit it!", she told the brunette one more time. Elena shot her a glare, "I can't! If I admit it- If I even let the thought in for just a second- What does that say about me?"

Caroline's face expression changed while she met her friends gaze, "It says you're human, Elena. Both of you." She looked at Violet before she suddenly seemed a bit uncomfortable.

Elena and Violet immediately followed her gaze, spotting Caroline's Dad on the other side of the park.

"Do you want me to-?"

"No, I got it", the blond assured Elena quickly. She touched them sift by their arms before she quickly made her way over to her dad.

Violet and Elena watched them for a shirt while but after a moment the two friends decided to continue their way, giving them some privacy.

"You know, it's okay if you like my brother", Violet stated while she glanced at Elena.

The brunette gave her a small smile and Violet continued, "I know how you feel about Stefan. And believe me, you're love was epic, but we don't even know if he's ever coming back. I guess, what I'm trying to say is, wait for Stefan as long as you want and need, but at some point you'll have to move on."

Elena gave her a nodd before she surprisingly hugged her, "Thank you."

Violet patted her friends back, "Any time."
