A FEW DAYS had went by, and many different things had happened, like ghost visits and boyfriend drama, especially in the Bonnie and Elena department. But currently Violet, Elena and Alaric had more important things to do. While Mason Lookwood had returned from the dead, he had lead Damon underground in the Lookwood tunnels to show him something that they all were very interested in.

The group was walking through the Lookwood tunnels. With the flashlight in her hand the black haired girl walked in the back, shining light on the walls while she passed through.

"So the Lookwood's really have no idea these tunnels are underneath their property?", Elena questioned Alaric, who was walking at the front of the group.

"Yeah, careful were you shine that thing. Bats hate the light", Alaric answered her simply.

Violet felt the goosebumps rise on her arms as she thought she heard someone whisper her name.

"Wait, what?", she questioned because she thought it had been Alaric, but the man looked at her in confusion.

A wind was passing her and the girl jumped when the whisper came once more, "Violet!"

Suddenly Damon stood behind her, smirking mischievously. "Boo!"

The girl inhaled deeply, her heart nearly jumping out of her chest before she hit him against his shoulder as hard as she could. "Damon!"

The man still smirked at her in amusement, "Scaredy-cat."

"Just ignore him. That's what I do", Alaric stated simply while he eyed them for a split second.

"So, you really can't get in, huh?", Violet questioned Damon interested as she raised her eyebrows at him.

He shook his head before he passed her, "No, seems even the ancient Lockwoods were anti-vampire."

Elena frowned at him, "What do you mean ancient?" Damon shrugged at her, "See for yourself."

They climbed into the ancient cave and Violet immediately spotted the weird symbols on the old stone wall.

"What is all this?"

"As far as I can tell, it's a story. In simple archeological terms, it's a really, really old story", Alaric told them in awe while they all looked at the symbols.

"That right there is a moon cycle. A man. A Wolf", Alaric stated as he pointed from one symbol to the other.

"A werewolf!", Elena exclaimed as her eyes widened. "Yeah, the Lockwood's diaries. Pictionary-style!", Damon stated sarcastically from where he was standing.

"I don't understand. I thought the Lockwood's came here with the original founders in the 1860s", Elena questioned Alaric with a frown on her face.

"Maybe the Lockwood's did. But according to this wall, these werewolves have been here a lot longer than that", Alaric explained to her, his gaze wandering over the symbols.

Now it was Violet's turn to question, "How long?"

"Long. Gets better. Show them, Ric", Damon engaged once more as he nodded further into the cave.

"Names. And they're not native. They're written in runic. A viking script", the teacher explained to them as he shone light onto the names.
"Vikings?"

"This name here, when translated reads Niklaus", Alaric turned to face them. Violet's mouth dropped open as she stared at the name, "Klaus?"

"And Elijah. And Rebekah", Alaric went on as he followed the name with his falshlight. Elena seemed completely disbelieving, "These are the names of the original family?"

"Carved into a cave that's been here long before the founding of Mystic Falls. Or even the entired New world, for that matter", Alaric stated as he had a worried look on his face.

"Okay, this has gotta be one of Klaus' fakes", Elena told them disbelieving. Damon spoke up quickly, "That's what I said."

"Well, that could be true. Except the last name up here made us think otherwise", Alaric answered the brunette.

Violet's curiosity got the best of her, "What's the name?"

"Mikael."

"Mikael. Mikael, as in the vampire hunter who knows how to kill Klaus?", Elena immediately questioned them, her face expression completely dropping.

"Yep. I now like to call him Papa Original", Damon confirmed to them as he nodded.

Alaric continued then to take photos of every single symbol on the wall and later stood over the pictures with Elena while Violet and Damon were fighting in his living room.

Damon just ripped the stake out of the girls hand and gave her a judging look, "Sloppy."

Violet scoffed while she pushed him away from her, "Shut up, Damon." She them tried to attack him once more.

Damon deflected her attacks while he spoke, "Mason Lockwood said the cave would lead to a weapon that could kill Klaus."

Violet swung at him as Elena turmed to watch them while speaking, "Yeah, but doesn't Mikael have a weapon?"

"Yes. Which probably means the wall will lead us to Mikeall, who we've found. And lost", Damon stated as she grabbed Violet's arm and disarmed her once more.

He then spun her around and she crashed into his chest, grunting.

"Bang. You're dead", Damon whispered into her ear before he was pretending to bite into her exposed neck.

Violet quickly wiggled out of his grip and pushed him backwards. The man stumbled back, smirking at her, while he looked the girl up and down.

Violet just rolled her eyes at him before she joined the other's.

Alaric was still concentrated on the pictures. "The images, at the very least, might tell us what that weapon is."

"Then all we have to do is find out what they mean", Violet stated as she stood besides them.

Damon shrugged at them while he came to a stand beside Alaric, "Fine. Fine. If I'm being irritating optimistic like you three, how do you suppose we do that?"

Violet's thoughts immediately rushed towards one person. "Well, if the story's about the original family living here, then we go straight to the source."

It was a bit of work but after a while Elena agreed to accompany Violet to meet Rebekah.

The two girls were standing on school ground, watching the blond vampir jump around with the cheerleaders.

"You. Goody."

"I was hoping we could talk", Elena stated and Rebekah gave her a sceptical look.

"About what? Stefan? Don't worry. I'm off him until he starts treating me better", the blond told her simply while nodding.

"In fact, you should probably take a page out of my book, if I'm being honest", Rebekah went on before Violet pulled out the photos and held them up. "Actually, we would rather talk about this."

Rebekah's face dropped immediately and she gave them a death glare, which made Violet rather uncomfortable, but she stayed calm. "We're curious why you and Klaus have spent 1000 years running from your father."

Rebekah struggled to get a word out. "I shouldn't get back to the girls. Homecoming's right around the corner." The blond turned and tried to walk away from them.

"Well, then maybe I'll ask Mikael when we wake him", Elena stated coldly making Rebekah immediately stop in her track. After a moment she faced them with a smile. "You're bluffing. You don't know where he is. No one does."

Violet shook hear head to herself before she crossed her arms over her chest, "Really? So then who's rotting in that old cemetery in Charlotte?"

Rebekah's smile dropped once more and she immediately approached them, "If you wake Mikael, we are all doomed!"

"So then tell me."

Rebekah narrowed her blue eyes at them, "Why do you wanna know?"

Elena shot the next question at her, "Why don't you want us to wake him?"

The blond original vampire just looked at them, "I need to get back to the girls."
With that she turned and walked away from them.

Elena and Violet gave each other a knowing look, they had hit a nerve. The blond definitely not going to forget this easily.

"V!— Hey, V!", Ethan's voice suddenly reached Violet's ear and made the dark haired girl spin towards him.

She gave him a small smile while she pushed her hair behind her ear, "Hey— what's up?"

The boy came to a stand infront of her, his football uniform on, "I feel like I don't even see you anymore—" He answered her honestly while he shifted his weights from one foot onto the other.

Violet knew that it was true, they couldn't trust him anymore. They never knew if he would run to Klaus and tell him everything they were planing behind his back.

The dark haired girl sighed deeply, "Yeah— you're right."

There was a moment of silence between them before she continued, "I was just very busy—"

"Hey— it's okay— I understand", he told her while he nodded his head and Violet gave him a small nodd. Suddenly the coach yelled out to him, making Ethan put on his helmet, "I'll see you later, all right?"

He gave her a small smile before he spun around and left her behind.

"SHE'S GOING TO tell us. She's scared of him. I saw her face. I just have to engage in a mean girl power struggle", Violet told Damon as she and Elena entered Alaric's apartment.

"Just make sure she doesn't power struggle you into a wheelchair", Damon stated from the other end of the phone.

Violet sighed, "I've got this, Damon. If we figure out a way to kill Klaus, Stefan will be free of his compulsion."

Elena gave her a look when she mentioned Stefan, which made Violet ask, "So, how is he?"

"Pasty and pouty", Damon stated after a small moment. "Well, that's okay. Call me later", Violet answered him before she hung up.

"Rebekah will come around", Elena clarified as she saw Alaric's sceptical face expression.

"You sure? A 1000-year-old vampire? I'm sure she's learned the art of patience", Alaric said before Elena suddenly interrupted him.

"She's a 1000-year-old vampire who's joined the cheerleading squad! There's a whole different set of rules in here, Ric", she held up her phone, with Rebekah's message on it, up into the air. "We've got this."

The two girls then got into the car and drove over to the Salvatore residence. Stepping through the door, Violet could hear loud music blasting through the mansion.

"Hey, what's up?", Rebekah's voice addressed the two girls while she smiled sweetly.

Elena's confusion was shown in her face, "You invited us over. To talk."

The blond original vampire turned away from them, "All right, girls. Have at it."

They stopped infront of Rebekah and looked at her. "Okay, now twirl please." They all did as she said.

Elena raised her eyebrows at her, "You compelled your own private runway show?" The blond seemed completely confused by her statement, "I need a homecoming dress."

She turned towards the girls, "So what do you think? Pick one." Violet scoffed, the annoyance clearly in her voice, "We're not here to help you shop. We're here to talk about why you don't want us to wake Mikael."

Rebekah quickly moved in vamp speed, grabbing one of the girls neck before she let her fangs come out. "I said pick one!"

Elena took a step forward and pointed at one of the other girls, "The red one!"

Rebekah let go of the blonds hair and gave the brunette besides Violet a look, "There. That wasn't so hard, was it?"

She glanced at the girls, who all looked at her, "Go away. Remember nothing."

The girls them disappeared and Rebekah approached the two with a Champaign glass in her hand. "You do not threaten me. You will learn what I allow you to lean, is that clear?"

Violet nodded her head in silence before she and Elena followed after the original vampire.

Rebekah entered Stefans room, a smirk playing on her lips, "How fun is this?"

Elena leaned against the door frame while Violet did the same on the other side. "We shouldn't be here."

"Of course we should. Come on, like you've never wanted to snoop?", the blond stated while she held up a boxer. "Boxer briefs. Now that's a change from the '20s."

Elena sigehd annoyed, "Are you gonna root through his stuff all night, or start your story?"

Rebekah faced her and sighed deeply, "You really are no fun. What do you want to know?"

The two girls exchange a look before Elena spoke up, "Well, Elijah said that your father was a landowner in Europe. How did you guys end up here?"

Rebekah gave her an disinterested look, while she continued to search through Stefan's things. "My parents had just started a family when a plague struck their homeland. They lost a child to it. They wanted to escape and protect their future family from the same fate."

"So, how did you end up here? This part of the world hadn't even been discovered yet."

"Not by anyone in your history books. But my mother knew the witch Ayana, who heard from the spirits of a mystical land where everyone was healthy. Blessed by the gifts of speed and strength. That lead my family here, where we lived amongst those people.

"The werewolves?"

"To us, they were just our neighbors. My family lived in peace with them for over 20 years, during which time my family had more children. Including me.

"You make it sound so normal."

"It was. Once a month, out family retreated to the caves beneath our village. The wolves would howl through the night. By morning we'd return home. One full moon, Klaus and my youngest brother, Henrik, snuck out to watch the men turn into beasts. That was forbidden. Henrik paid the price. And that was the beginning of the end of peace with our neighbors."

The blond vampire turned towards them, "And one of the last moments my family had together as humans."

Suddenly Violet's phone vibrated and the dark haired girl quickly pulled it out if her pocket. "You better get that. That'll be Damon checking up on you."

Violet picked up the call, "Hey."

"Hey." The girl could hear very loud music playing in the background. "Damon, where are you?"

"No idea. But I'm sure I'm overdressed. You still standing?" His voice dripped with sarcasms. "Yes, we're fine. But I can't talk right now."

Violet suddenly heard Stefan's voice in her ear, "I'll be at the bar!"

Violet immediately frowned to herself, she turned to face Elena, "Was that Stefan?"

"Yeah, I kind of went off book. Bit don't worry what I'm doing", Damon tried to assure her immediately but Violet felt the anger bubbling up inside of her. "Damon, how could you let him out!?"

"Oh, I got this, Violet!", Damon stated simply before he hung up the phone. The dark haired girl turned towards Rebekah and Elena.

Rebekah grabbed Stefan's diary and flopped down onto his bed while the two other girls sat down on a chair.

Elena raised an eyebrow at the blond, "Did you get your fill on snooping yet? Can we get on with the story?"

Rebekah put the diary and stood up, grabbing a picture of Elena and Stefan, she looked at it. "Honestly, I don't get you two as a couple."

"Why would you. You don't know anything about who he really is", the brunette stated while she crossed her arms over her chest and leaned back.

Rebekah put the picture away before she smiled and leaned forward. "I know exactly who he is. He's a vampire. We're a predatory species. We don't have time to care about humans and their silly little lives."

Violet's mind wandered back towards her and Damon's phone call. Elena frowned deeply at her, "Is that why you did that runway show earlier? Because you don't care about the Homecoming dance?"

Rebekah's eyebrows raised in surprise and she straightened up. "You know what? We're just gonna go", Elena stated before she nodded over at Violet.

The two quickly got onto their feet, but as soon as their backs were turned towards Rebekah, she spoke up, "You haven't even heard half the story."

Elena spun around to her and Violet folded her arms over her chest while she glared at Rebekah. "And you're not going to tell it. You're just bored and looking for someone to push around. Find someone else to play with. Maybe you can compel yourself a friend."

"The necklace wasn't Stefan's to give", the blond stated as soon as the other's started walking away from her again. "It belonged to the Original witch."

Violet frowned at her, "The one who put the hybrid curse on Klaus?"

"Not just the hybrid curse. She's the one who turned us into Vampires", Rebekah explained to them before she suddenly dahsed last the two. "I'm thirsty. Do you want a drink?"

Elena and Violet exchange a annoyed look before they followed her downstairs, "So vampirsm was a form of protection?"

Rebekah seemed confused by her question, "What else would it be?"

"A curse."

"My parents only saw a way of keeping their children alive"

"Yeah, but why stay. If they were so afraid of the werewolves, why not leave?"

Rebekah stoped walking and the two mirrored her motions. "Pride. My father didn't want to run anymore. He wanted to fight, and be superior to the wolves. Where they could bite, we had to bite harder. Where they had speed, we had to be faster. Agility, strength, senses. Ayana wouldn't do the spell so it was in my mother's hand to do so."

"In her hands? How could she do anything?" Violet was surprised by that statement.

Rebekah seemed quite casual about her story, "Because my mother was also a witch."

"What?"

"The witch of the Original family. The Original witch." Rebekah kept walking while Violet felt her mouth opening in surprise. The blonds voice could be heard, "So, where do they keep their best vintage?"

"But if your mother was a witch—

"Am I? No. A witch is a nature's servant. A vampire is an abomination of nature. You can either be one or the other. Never both." She pulled out a bottle of red wine and eyed it. "My mother did this for us. She did not turn."

"How did you turn?" Violet eyed the back of the blond, who was now facing the fireplace.

"She called upon the sun for life and the ancient white oak tree, one of nature's elemental objects, for immortality. That night, father offered us wine laced with blood.—" the blond seemed to hesitate but she went on. "And then he drove his sword through our hearts."

Violet held her breath by the image of a father killing his children. Elena questioned quietly, also seeming shocked, "He killed you?"

Rebekah faced them, "And he wasn't delicate about it, either." She opened the bottle with a loud sound.

"We had to drink more blood to complete the ritual. The feeling of power was indescribable. But the witch Ayana was right about the consequences. The spirits turned on us and nature fought back. For every strength, there would be a weakness. The sun became out enemy. It kept us indoors for weeks. And though my mother found a solution— there were other problems. Neighbors who had opened their homes to us could now keep us out. The flowers at the base of the white oak burned and prevented compulsion. And the spell decreed that the tree that gave us life could also take it away. So we burned it to the ground."

The original vampire made a long pause before she continued her Story, "But the darkest consequence was something my parents never anticipated. The hunger. Blood had made us reborn and it was blood that we craved above all else. We could not control it. And with that the predatory species was born."

"So why did Mikael start hunting Klaus?"

"When Nick made his first human kill, it triggered his werewolf gene. With that, he became my father's greatest shame.

"Yeah, Elijah told me this part of the story. Your mother have had an affair with one of the werewolf villagers. Klaus wasn't his son.

"She tried to make it right. She put the hybrid curse in Nik to suppress his werewolf side and then she turned her back on him. But Mikaels greatest weakness as a human was his pride. As a vampire, that was magnified. He went on a rampage and killed half the village. Than he came home and killed her."

Violet inhaled in surprise and took a step forward, the shock written all over her face, "Mikael killed your mother?"

"He said, she broke his heart, so he would break hers. He tore it from her chest as Nik watched. Afterwards my father took off in a rage and the rest of my family scattered. Nik stayed so he could help me bury her. He knew I had to say goodbye to my mother. Elijah, Nik and I, we made a bow over her grave. Always and forever."

Violet had a deep frown on her face while she put her hands in her back pockets, "Always and forever. Even though he locked you in a coffin for 90 years?"

"We're vampires. Our emotions are heightened. I'm stubborn. Elijah moral, and Nik— Nik had to tolerance for those who disappoint him. Over a thousand years as a family, we've all made that mistake at least once. I've made it several times.

The black haired girl felt her heard sink, "But you still love him?"

"He's my brother. And I'm immortal. Should I spent and eternity alone instead?" The blond seemed to realize that she had shown a bit too much of her own emotions.

She quickly avoided eye contact with the two girls and pushed past them, "You've heard the story. It's time to go."

Elena tried to grab her by her arm but Rebekah yanked her arm away, "I said leave Elena, I don't know what you're up to but I'm no longer playing along."

"I'm just looking for one good reason why we shouldn't wake Mikael."

In Rebekah's eyes was the panic and fear visible that the thought of her father brought up,  "And I given you a thousand. But you will anyway. You want him to help you kill my brother. I'm not stupid."

Elena leaned her head to the side, "It's no secret that I want Klaus dead. He had a hold over Stefan's life. And over mine."

"Do what you need. Wake Mikael at your own peril. But make no mistakes. If you come after my brother, I will rip you—apart—" the blond warned the two girls before she smirked slightly. "And I get my temper from my father."

She stepped backwards, "Now leave!"

"YEAH, WE FILLED in what we could. We've got the vampire, werewolf, slaughter, mayhem etc.", Alaric stated while they stood in the cave under the Lockwood tunnels.

"That's the withe oak tree that was used in the spell to create the vampires. Which means that was when they burned down the tree, destroying the only way they could be killed."

"Okay, so tree equals weapon. Sort of. Bit we already knew that. What we're not sure about is this. We've got the witch symbol and heat looks like a bleeding heart. Upside-down figurees usually signify death of some kind."

"Mikael killed the witch by ripping out her heart—" Violet took a step forward while she eyed the signs on the wall. Her eyes fell onto the symbols that stood between the other two. "But why is that one connected to the witch's death?"

"Mhm, yeah, I don't know. We haven't gotten that far", Bonnie frowned whiel she also eyes the symbols. Suddenly Elena gasped from behind them, "Oh my God. Rebekah doesn't know the real story."

Violet gave her a questioning look and Elena looked at her like it was obvious, "That sign stand's for the Hybrid. The sun and the moon. — Klaus killed his mother."

Violet's mouth immediately fell open and the two quickly hurried towards their car and drove back towards the Salvatore residence.

The two opened the door and entered the mansion without knocking.

"I thought I told you to leave. Twice", the blond snapped at them, her back turned towards the two.

Elena just ignored her and immediately got to the point, "How do you know that Mikael killed your mother?"

Rebekah faced them, "Nik was there. He told me."

Elena sigehd deeply before she approached the vampire, "He lied to you." Rebekah smiled at her while she tasked her eyebrows, "And how do you know that?"

"The cave where you carved your family's names is covered in symbols. The story of your family. How your parents arrived." Violet quickly pulled out the pictures of all the symbols out and placed them on the table, going on for Elena.

"How they made peace. The spell that turned them into vampires. And this. This is the symbol for hybrid. It's the combination of the werewolf and the vampire symbol." Violet put the last two picture on the table, "Mad this one for your mother. And this the story of her death."

She pointed at the picture and the symbols, "The Hybrid killed the Original witch. Not Mikael. Klaus."

Rebekah immediately started shaking her head, "No! No, he wouldn't!"

"She out the curse on him. Made it so that he would be the only one of his kind and then she rejected him. With the werewolf gene comes aggression and violence. When he turned, all of that was heightened. He killed her, Rebekah. And them he made up this entire lie about your father so that he wouldn't loose you.

Rebekah looked at them for a small moment, but then her anger broke through, "These mean nothing! They're just stupid drawings done by stupid people, who had now idea who my family was!"

The blond grabbed the pictures and threw them into the fire place before she turned towards them once more.

Elena seemed irretated by her behavior, "Then why are you so upset?"

Rebekah's eyes were watering up, and Violet could see that she fought to keep the tears back. "Why are you doing this to me? I've done nothing to you!"

Elena approached her, her emotions bubbling up as well, "Klaus killed your mother. He has a hold on you, on me, on everyone. He has for a thousand years. We have to make it stop!"

Suddenly Rebekah grabbed Elena by her throat and pushed her up against the wall, "Shut up! Just shut up! Don't talk to me anymore! Nothing!"

The veins under Rebekah's eyes were turning dark and Violet approached the slowly from the side, making sure that Elena wasn't hurt.

After a moment Rebekah let go of the brunette and Elena gasped for air. Rebekah seemed quite normal for a moment but then she sank to the group, crying heavily.

Violet watched the blond vampire sitting sobbing on the ground while she carefully grabbed Elena's hand.

As soon as the two had linked their hands Violet quickly pulled her out of the mansion and got into her car. Driving Elena home, the two sat in the car in complete silence.

That was until Violet spoke up, "So, that was intense." She drummed her fingers against the wheel and Elena glanced at her, "I have compassion for her. Her family isn't easy."

Violet nodded her head, "Yes, that's true." The black haired girl them went on, "How are we feeling about the fact that Damon let Stefan out?"

Elena shook her head to herself while she stared out of the window, "I still can't believe he did that."

In that moment they pulled up infront of the Gilbert house. Elena got out of the car. "Thank you for driving me home. Love you."

Violet waved at from inside the car, "Love you too. See you tomorrow." As soon as Elena had disappeared behind the door she drove off.

Violet was exhausted when she parked the car in the driveway. But the day had been a win for them, at least thats the way she chose to see it.

The dark haired girl got out of her car and her eyes widened slightly when she saw Ethan sitting on her front porch.

Her voice was just slightly above a whisper when she approached him, "Hey."

He gave her a small smile, "Hey—" he slowly got up onto his feet, "I just thought we could talk."

The girl remained silent while she looked up at him and he continued, "You just feel so far away since the start of summer. And I don't know what I did— "

It was killing Violet on the inside that he thought that it was something that he did. She knew Ethan since middle school. They were together for years and it just broke her that she did something that would hurt him. The dark haired girl felt the tears whelming up in her eyes.

"I kissed Damon."

The words came spilled out of her mouth and for a moment there was no kind of reaction from Ethan.

The tears were streaming down her cheeks, "I'm sorry— I didn't plan for it to happen—"

The boy seemed taken back by her statement while tears were whelming up in his eyes as well, "Do you have feelings for him?"

Violet remained silent while she looked Ethan into his eyes. Her throat felt dry when she choked out the words,"— I don't know." She didn't want to lie anymore. Not to him.

"You don't know—", Ethan's confusion was detectable in his voice. Violet still sobbed, "I'm so sorry."

"I've gotta go—", Ethan then left without another word, leaving Violet alone on the front porch.

The girl felt how the tear where spilling down her face and she looked up at the ceiling while she exhaled deeply.

She tried to pull herself together before she entered the house. When the door fell shut behind her, her mother immediately greeted the girl, a worried expression on her face, "Where have you been, Violet? I've been worried sick about you!"

"Oh, I'm sorry mom. I was with Elena, I forgot to call", the dark haired girl immediately apologized to her mother while she gave her a big hug. "I'm really sorry. It'll never happen again."

The woman let go of her and leaned back, pushing the hair out od her daughters face, "Just call next time, okay?" Violet nodded at her in silence before her mother suddenly frowned. "Baby— Is everything okay?"

Violet slowly shook her head, "I think Ethan and I are breaking up." Her mother's face was showing her shock, "Oh, honey— I'm so sorry." She quickly placed a kiss on her daughter's forehead while she pulled her into a tight hug.

After a moment of hugging Violet pulled back, "I think I'm gonna go and try to sleep a little."

"I think that's for the best, honey. But remember, I'm always here if you want to talk about it", her mother reminded her and Violet gave her a small smile. "Thank you."

Violet then quickly changed into her pijamas before she entered her bathroom. Getting ready for bed, she brushed her hair and teeth before she went back into her bedroom.

She was completely exhausted from the day, her heart broke into piece. The only things the wanted to do was crawl under her blanket and cry her eyes out.

The dark haired girl jumped when she saw no other than Damon, who was laying in her bed, his arms crossed behind his head.

A smirk was playing on his lips and he watched her with his gleaming blue eyes. Violet gave him a tired look, she was really not in the mood for his sarcasm, "Oh, come on. Damon, seriously?"

He just continued to look at her, "We got Mikael." Violet's eyes widened in surprise, "What? How?"

He shrugged at her. "No idea. I guess Katherine came through. The plan's in motion. See? I told you I had it", the raven haired man stated, his eyes widening while he smirked.

Violet gave him a pointed glare, but remained silent.

"Go ahead. Kick, yell, scream. I'm sure you've been planning your rant all day", the man stated while he let his gaze wander around her room.

Violet shrugged before she held up bee duevt and got into her bed. "I'm not going to yell at you. Believe it or not I got my own problems."

He looked at her, a bit of suprise laying in his gaze,"Why not? I went behind yours and Elena's back. Uhh, I think she's furious right now— I freed Stefan. And you know what, it backfired. He's a bigger dick than ever, it's just now he's a dick that's on our side."

Violet held his eye contact while she shook her head, "I'm not mad. I'm just tired. I'm too tired to be mad right now. I just — I wanna go to bed."

Damon looked up at the celling and completely ignored the hint she had just given him to disappear already.

"You know, I think Mikael's weapon is a stake. He mentioned something about it." Damon said more to himself them to Violet. "Well, then he must have carved it from the white oak tree before they burned it. "

Damon started smirking once more, his eyes meeting her's. "So I was right. After all that, the wall led us to Mikael."

"It led us to more than just that. I think it got Rebekah on our side too", the dark haired girl stated while she looked at the celling.

Damon seemed a bit surprised, his eyes remained on the girl besides him, "Really? What did you learn form her?"

"I learned that she's just a girl. That lost her mother too young and she loved blindly and recklessly, even if it consumes her", Violet now turned onto her side and faced Damon, his eyes were staring into hers's and Violet released a deep breath.

She then went on, holding their eye contact, "And when all is said and done, there's nothing more important than the bond of family."

Damon turned to face her as well, "Yeah, you should tell that to my brother."

They were now only inches apart, Violet smiled at him before her face expression got more serious, "I'm not mad at you for letting Stefan out. It's not my job, that's Elenas, Damon."

She turned around to turn out the lights before she faced him once more. Snuggling further into her bed sheets, she looked into his blue eyes with her browns ones, "If anything, I think that you're gonna be the one to save him from himself."

There was a silence between them. A comfortable one. Damon was just examining her face with his eyes, almost like he was in some kind of trance.

Violet shook her head, which made his eyes meet her's again, "I think, I won't be because he loves Elena. It'll be because he loves you."

The dark haired girl felt her eyelids grow heavy and she snuggled into her pillow, "Can I tell you the rest tomorrow?"

Damon's voice was soft and low when reaching her ears, "Sure."
