VIOLET STILL FELT horrible while she sat behind the parking lot besides Caroline and Stefan, listening to Elena rant about her altercation with Rebekah. The dark haired girl was feeling like her body was slowly giving up on her and she couldn't do anything about it.
"It was a valiant first-day effort. No one will judge you if you wanna go home", Caroline told her friend honestly while Elena paced up and down infront of them in anger.
Her voice was raised while she balled her hands into fists, "I don't wanna go home. I wanna take the white oak stake and kill her. That's how mad I am. She made me murderous!"
"How about we leave the murdering to Damon?", Stefan questioned her with a raised eyebrow.
"And— and then do what, ignore her to death?", Elena questioned him sarcastically, her voice slightly raised.
Stefan stood up from the table and walked over to Elena, "Look, she's trying to make herself feel better. She knows that everybody hates her, so she's trying to hate harder. Tell you what. Let's just skip the rest of the day. Go have some fun— I feel like this day is severely lacking in fun."
Elena exchanged a look with Violet and Caroline, who gave her a reassuring smile. "Yeah, okay fine. We'll go to her party and show her that she can't intimidated me."
Stefan noddd at the brunette in encouragement and she sighed, "I just have to go home and change first."
Elena then waved at Caroline and Violet before she walked away and Stefan immediately turned to face them.
"Does she seem a little off-balance to you?", Caroline questioned while she atcwhd the brunette walk away from them.
"Yeah, she's channelling all her emotions into rage. It makes her feel like she has purpose. I used to do that too, when I was, you know—"
Violet raised her eyebrows at him, "Ripper-you?"
Stefan nodded before he started explaining why Elena was acting like this, "Yeah. She needs to come to terms with it, confront it, let it in, before she can let it go."
Caroline gave him an impressed look before she smiled, "You're good at this, you know that? You saved my vampire life, now you're saving hers. You should write a book."
The three continued their way over to their cars and Violet decided that she wasn't going to any party today. She just wanted to get home, wrap up in a blanket and finally feel better.
When the dark haired girl finally arrived at home, Adrian's car was already parked in front of their house and their mother also seemed to be home.
Violet parked her car and went inside, where she was immediately greeted by her mother. "Hey, sweetheart! How was your day?"
The woman was standing behind the kitchen counter and her smile immediately fell when she saw her daughter, "You look awful— are you okay?"
She quickly approached her daughter and pushed her hand against Violet's forhead.
"I'm okay, I just didn't sleep much", Violet lied while she gave her mother a small smile.
Adrian gave his sister a knowing look while she made her way upstairs. It was common knowledge that Violet couldn't keep anything down unless it came directly from the vein and that she was miserable because of it.
The dark haired girl fell into her bed and remained there until she heard Adrian's footsteps coming towards her room.
When the dark haired girl looked up she spotted her brother leaning against her doorframe, "Did you feed today?"
Violet let out a small sighed, "No. I didn't want Matt to offer himself up again. It's awful." The girl closed her eyes.
Adrian walked over to her and sat down on her bed besides her. "You have to."
Violet let her eyes remain closed while she answered him, "I know I have to— but I can't." There was a long silence between them before Adrian spoke, "Feed from me."
Violet's eyes immediately snapped open, "Are you sure." Adrian nodded at her, "Yeah— I'm sure."
Violet quickly sat up straighter and Adrian pulled up the sleeves of his pullovers. The dark haired girl felt a little weird while she watched her brother offer her his vein to drink from. But despite that she knew that she had to drink sometime.
The girl gave her brother a thankful look, "Thank you."
She slowly took Adrian's wrist into her hand and brought it up to her lips before she sunk her teeth into his skin.
The dark haired girl then slowly started drinking and she immediately felt better. She felt him struggle a little bit her hunger was slowly getting the best of him while she continued drinking from him vein.
"Violet stop—", the boy begged her after a moment but Violet continued. "Violet!—"
The dark haired girl immediately snapped back when she heard his helpless voice, the guilt immediately overwhelming her.
Violet immediately whipped the blood from her lips and met her brothers eyes.
He was looking at her with pity in his eyes and Violet couldn't help it and she started crying.
Adrian quickly put a bandage over this would before he brought his sister into a tight hug. "It's okay, V."
Violet was still crying in his arms while he patted her shoulder, "It's not okay, Adrian. It's not—"
IN THE AFTERNOON Violet, Elena, Bonnie and Damon were paying the Whitmore college a visit because the new anthro professor had found stuff of Bonnie grams in his office and Damon wanted to teach Violet how to feed on humans.
"Are you sure that you're okay with this?", Elena questioned Bonnie while they all got out of the car.
Bonnie shook her head while she gave her an understanding look, "If I could spell you out of wanting blood, I would. But I can't so better you learn now than at freshman orientation."
Elena eyes the campus around them, "Something tells me that college isn't in my future anymore."
"Oh, stop with the pity party!", Damon immediately sighed, a frown on his face. "If I can go to college, you can go!"
Bonnie immediately frowned at him, "You went to college?"
"Sure— plenty of times. Always had a thing for sorority girls." He gave them a small smile and Bonnie narrowed her eyes at him, "You're disgusting."
"I know", Damon whispered back at her with wide eyes before he started following them through campus and to the anthro lecture of professor Shane.
"When I say the word witch. What popped into your head?", the professor at the front of the class questioned them. "Halloween costume? Villain of a fairy tale? Maybe an ex-girlfriend? Well, whatever image it is it's probably not Taniel Sosso of Manjo, Cameroon."
"Is that him?", Elena questioned as they sat down, her eyes on the man. Bonnie nodded, "Yeah."
Elena narrowed her eyes at him, "He's kind of—" Violet raised her eyebrows at him while she finished her sentences, "Hot?"
Violet glanced over at Damon, who rolled his eyes at her statement.
The professor continued his lesson and they listened to him, "Now, in reality, or in this reality, at least, witches have appeared across every culture in history. They're the architects of the supernatural, responsible for everything that goes bump in the night, from ghosts, to vampires to doppelgängers."
"What is this, Witchipedia?", Damon suddenly questioned, the sarcasms was dripping from his voice.
"Shut up."
"Now, if you're a skeptic, you'd call that a coincidence. But if you're a true believe — you know there really is no such thing." The voice of the professor was carried through the room but Violet could only think about one thing. "What if I'm a ripper?"
"You're not a ripper" Damon immediately assured her. Violet gave him a pointed look, "What if I am?"
Damon sighed while he motioned his hands around them, "Well then pick someone and we'll find out."
Violet started looking around the room while Damon gave her advise. "Stoner guys are no good to grab. They're too paranoid and you don't want the extra buzz—" He motioned for her to look further down the line. "Now she is fun-size, but to alert. Geeky girls are inherently suspicious of anyone who's nice to them. What you want is the little blond pretty girl. Self-absorbed, easily flattered. You just have to separate her from the pack and make your move."
"Am I interrupting you guys? Or is it maybe the other way around?", The professor questioned them while he raised an eyebrow at the two.
"Sorry—", Violet immediately apologized while she sunk down in her seat.
"No, I was just saying how much I love witches", Damon told the Professor who nodded his head. "Yeah, you and me both, brother. Alright listen, we should probably talk about the readings that none of you did."
Violet and Damon exchanged quick glanced before they chuckled in amusement.
The dark haired girl looked over at Elena and Bonnie, who both gave her weird looks and Violet immediately went silent and listened to the rest of the lecture.
After the lecture was finished Damon and Violet followed after the blond.
"She's young and healthy. She'll heal like a charm. Keep your eyes on the ball", Damon reassured Violet while they followed after the blond student over the campus. Violet immediately shot Damon a death glare,"This isn't some game, Damon!"
The man immediately gave her an apologizing look, "Fine it's not a game! It's a high-stakes dangerous maneuver. Now just go, just like we practiced. It's all you hav to do."
Violet gave the man one last look before she quickly hurried after the blond girl, "Hey! You're in my anthro class, right?"
The blond immediately spun around to her and gave her a questioning look, "Yeah, I guess so."
"I totally spaced and forgot to get the reading list. Do you have it?"
The blond nodded and looked down at her phone, "Sure— Let me check."
Suddenly Violet leaned forward and grabbed her arm, making the blond look at her with a frown on her face.
Violet immediately focused on compelling her, "This isn't going to hurt. Please don't scream."
She was ready to sink her teeth into the blonds neck, when she suddenly saw the picture of a little girl on the home screen of her phone.
Violet paused before she looked at the blond, "Who's that?"
"That's my little sister—", the blond answered her. Violet immediately shook her head while she struggled with herself, "Get out of here. Go back to class."
The blond then turned around and walked away while Violet sighed deeply.
Damon immediately appeared besides her, "What the hell are you doing?"
Violet was stumbling over her words while she looked at him, "I just— I saw the picture and—",
Damon seemed annoyed while he answered her, "Everybody is someone's uncle of father or camp counselor or bible-study teacher, Violet. You don't know these people. Why do you care?"
Violet frowned at him while she started raising her voice, "I care because I'm still me! I still have the same feelings, Damon! Sorry if that spoils your plan to turn me into a super vampire."
Suddenly Bonnie and Elena joined them, questioning looks on their faces, "What's going on?"
Damon immediately turned to face them, a smirk on his face, "Nothing, Violet is educating me on the importance of feelings."
Violet chose to ignore him and questioned Bonnie about the Professor, "Did you talk to the professor?"
"For a second— He found some stuff of my Grams in his office. He's gonna dig it up for me", Bonnie smiled at them before she suddenly remembered something. "Oh, this—", the witch held up a flyer for a murder house party.
"Nice, the answer to all of our problems. A frat party, douche central. Which is why you'll be eating very well tonight", Damon rubbed his hands together while he smirked at them.
Bonnie immediately shot him a glare, but Damon just ignored him, "So what should we go as? Victims or killers?"
As soon as the four had entered the frat house party they were immediately greeted by one of the hosts. The blond boy had a bloody marry in his hand, "Hey! I'm Frankie, Unassuming Serial killer.
Damon went along with his play, "I'm Jack, and these are the three lovely ladies I just rippered." He pointed to Elena, Violet and Bonnie.
The blond gave them a small toothless smile, "Welcome to the murder house— bloody Marys free until midnight. Enjoy yourselves." The men then pushed past them and left.
"Well, hats off to these idiots— Oh look, Professor creepy." Damon took his head off and put it back onto his head before he pointed at the Professor from earlier.
"His name is Professor Shane and he's not creepy", Bonnie stated while the Professor spotted them and raised a drink at Bonnie. "I'm gonna talk to him." Damon nodded at her, "You do that."
They turned towards the room where the party was taking place. Damon was still right besides Violet, "Inebriated sleazeballs all covered in blood. Come on, pick one."
Violet scanned the room and saw a woman and a men that were talking to each other. Violet narrowed her eyes when she saw how the woman greeted another woman and the men slipped a pill into her drink. "I think I found one."
The party music was loud and Damon has to lean down to her ears so that she could hear him, "Roofie guy?"
Violet nodded at him, "Mhm."
The vampire nodded at her, "Nice choice — go get him."
Violet immediately went over to them and accidentally bumped into the guy. His drink spilled and Violet immediately looked at him with wide eyes and a small smile on her face. "I'm sorry."
She then fluttered her eyelashes at him and held her bloody marry out for him to take, "Drink?"
The guy immediately smiled at her and took the drink, "Sure."
Violet then made her way into the next room and as expected he followed after her. As soon as he came to a stand beside her he smiled, "Great party, right?"
Violet nodded her head at him, smiling, "Yeah."
The guy didn't waste a second and immediately leaned forward to kiss her, but Violet pushed him hardly against the ledge behind him.
She then walked towards him a smile on her face, her hands found his neck while she compelled him, "You're not going to make a sound." He nodded quickly and Violet sunk her teeth into his neck.
"Now remember the idea is not to kill him—", she could hear Damon's say from behind her but she just ignored him. The taste of blood was just to good and she could control herself. She wanted just a little bit more.
"Violet— step away from the ledge", Damon warned her again and Violet immediately stopped drinking and leaned her head back as the blood was dripping down her chin.
She then looked the blond frat boy into his eyes, "Leave and forget about this." The frat boy then immediately pushed past them and left.
Damon smiled at her while he raised an eyebrow at her, "Nice touch— how do you feel?"
The dark haired girl waited a moment before a large smile broke out on her face, "I feel good—" She let out a loud chuckle and Damon smiled widely at her before Violet jumped into his arms.
This feeling was like a rush, like a drug. Violet smirked while she whispered into his ear, "I want more."
Damon also had a smirk on his face before he grabbed Violet by the hand and dragged her onto the dance floor.
The two were dancing to the music while they started feeding on the people around them.
Violet was dancing towards a brunette girl, a large smile on her face. The two started vibing and the brunette took her hand before Violet looked into her eyes. "Don't scream. This isn't going to hurt."
She then immediately grabbed the brunette by her head and sunk her teeth into her neck.
She was feeling such euphoria while she was to finally drinking blood without vomiting.
The dark haired girl ruffled her hair while she was dancing to the beat. She spun around and suddenly came face to face with Damon, who was dancing towards her.
She still has a large smile playing on her lips while the man took her arms and wrapped them around her neck.
Violet felt like she was drunk when she slowly let her hands turn down Damons chest, both of them moving their hips against each other to the beat.
Damons hands slowly moved down from her hair to her neck and then to her hips.
Violet was leaning her head back and when she looked straight ahead, she suddenly saw Bonnie and Elena, who looked at her in shock.
Violet immediately realized what was happening and pulled away from Damon. "Oh my God."
The dark haired girl then immediately went straight to her two best friends and pushed past them. "I've got to get out of here."
Violet immediately made her way outside into the dark, followed by Elena and Bonnie, who both had worried looks on their faces.
"Why am I acting this way?", Violet questioned them while she started crying. She was scared because she knew that the old her would have never acted that way.
Elena crossed her arms over her chest, "Because you listened to Damon. And Damon makes everything he wants sound like a good idea."
Violet "I should be here with Ethan. I shouldn't be here with him. I should be going through all of this with Ethan."
Damon suddenly cleared his throat from behind them, making the three women look at him. "Guessing we should hit the road."
Bonnie approached the vampire, a hateful look on her face, "You were supposed to help her— and you let her get completely out of control."
Damon's voice was a little louder than before, his eyes laying on Violet, "She's not out of control. She was having fun—"
Bonnie shot him another death glare, "This isn't fun. She's acting like a different person."
Damon's voice was still loud when he shot back at her, "She is a different person. She's a vampire! We're a preditory species. We enjoy the hunt, the feed and the kill. When the guilt gets too bad, we switch off our humanity and we revel in it"
Bonnie stepped closer towards him, her eyes narrowed, "Is that what you want? To be like you?"
"She already is like me!", Damon exclaimed at her. "And you know what makes me able to drink my fill and leave someone breathing and not rip their heads off like my brother is that I can revel in it. I can make it fun", he stated explained to them before he pushed past Bonnie, bumped their shoulders and left.
Violet felt the tears running down her cheeks while she felt this war inside of herself. She was having fun, she could control it— on the other side she was feeling guilty for changing, for being different than before.
The drive back to Mystic Falls was quiet, nobody was saying anything and it was really awkward.
They had stopped everyone off and Violet was the last one. They got out of the car and Damon brought her to the door.
There was this awkward tension between them when he looked at her, "Well then, goodnight."
Violet gave him an apologizing look, "Damon— I'm sorry. Things got a little heated at the party and I shouldn't hage let that happen. It's just that I feel like—"
"What do you feel, Violet?", Damon questioned her calmly.
"When you tell me what a vampire should be— deep down, I believe you. I think that you're right and I hate that feeling. Because I don't want to be—", she felt the tears whelming up in her eyes while she spoke.
"You don't want to be like me." The man gave her a small smile and Violet sighed deeply. She wanted to say something when suddenly the front door opened and revealed Ethan.
The man smiled at his girlfriend while he stepped outside onto the porch, "Hey."
"Hey! — what are you doing here?", Violet immediately greeted him with a smile. Ethan still smiled at her, "I was just hanging out with Adrian. We had a couple of things to talk about."
Damon gave Ethan a small wave before he questioned, "Any new on the hunter?" Ethan shook his head, "No— nothing new."
Damon sighed deeply, "Well, then today was a bust." He puted slightly before he pointed at Violet and slowly walked off the porch, "She's all yours."
The couple waited until Damon was gone until they spoke, "So— uh— what happened?"
Violet gave Ethan a small smile, "I learned how to feed without hurting someone." Her smile then slowly vanished, "It was awful— I got caught up in it." Ethan nodded his head at her, "It'll get easier."
Violet slightly shook her head, "I don't want it to get easier. I can't live like this. I'm feeling feelings I don't want to feel. And I'm slowly becoming someone that I don't want to be."
Ethan immediately brought her into a tight hug while he patted her bag and placed a kiss on her forehead, "Hey— we're gonna get through this."
