"HERE WE ARE. Senior year", Caroline stated while the four girls stood infront of the school yard, watching all the students enter the gigantic building.
"Anyone else think this should feel slightly more empowering?", Bonnie questioned them, her hands resting on her hips while she frowned.
Caroline gave her a look, before she exclaimed, "Okay, so prank night was a bust! But we are accepting it and we're moving on!"
The four started slowly moving towards the school while Bonnie shrugged, "You're right. Why should I let the fact that my boyfriend is seeing the ghost of his dead girlfriends hinder this experience?"
Caroline nodded her head agreeing, "Yes! And why should I let the fact that my boyfriend was turned into a hybrid put a damper on an otherwise fabulous day?"
Elena suddenly stopped walking. Staring into nothingness, she spoke, "Today's out anniversary."
The other's stopped walking and turned around to face her. "Technically, Stefan and I met on the first day of school last year."
"Yeah, you win", Caroline said in a low voice, her voice filled with empathy.
Violet eyed her friend for a moment, "Are you sure you want to be here?"
Elena gave her a appreciated small smile. "I have to be here. I have to let it behind me. New year, new life", the brunette exhaled deeply before she made her way past her friends.
The three girls exchanged a look, nodding before they quickly follow after Elena.
After the four had entered the school everyone went to their several lockers, putting their things away.
Violet had just placed her last folder into the locker and closed it, revealing Ethan, who stood besides her.
Their eyes met and Violet inhaled deeply, her heart jumping. "Ethan! Don't do this!"
The boy let out a low chuckle while she punched him against his shoulder.
"That's not funny", the girl shook her head at him, a small smirk making it's way onto her face. The boy smirked, leaning against the lockers while he eyed her through narrowed eyes, "It kind off is."
"Ha ha ha", Violet rolled with her eyes before silence settled over them. The dark haired girl, pulled her school bag, over her shoulder.
Her smile disappeared when she remembered last night. "How are you?"
There was a moment of silence between them before the boy shrugged at her, "I've never felt better in my whole life. You know, everything just feels so-"
"Heightened?", the girl questioned with raised eyebrows. Ethan nodded in agreement, "Yeah."
There was this silence between them once more, but after a moment Violet spoke, "You really scared me last night. For a moment, I thought I- lost you."
Ethan met her gaze, his face expression serious. He pushed the strand of hair behind her ear. "Everything's okay."
She scoffed quietly, making him grab her hand. He started softly stroking his thumb over the back of her hand while he gave her a deep look, "Really, V. I'm okay."
Violet was still not in the slightest convinced, but she nodded at him before their moment was abruptly interrupted by the bell.
"See you later?"
"See you later."
They gave each other a kiss before Violet quickly hurried into her classroom and took her usual seat in-between Elena and Bonnie.
"Welcome back seniors! Let's turn our brains back on, starting with this country's original founders. The native Americans", Alaric began his history lesson, when suddenly no other than Klaus' sister, Rebekah entered the class room.
"What about the Vikings?" the blond questioned while she made her way over towards the empty chair infront of Elena and settled down.
"There's no evidence Vikings explorers actually settled in the United States", Alaric answered her, before he frowned at the blonde girl. "Who are you?"
"My name's Rebekah. I'm new. And history is my favourite subject", the original vampire stated while staring at Alaric with a smile on her face.
After that, the lesson continued like usually, followed by PE, which was definitely not fun for anybody. Because Rebekah joined the cheer squad, which didn't fit well at all with Caroline and Violet.
"I mean who does she think she is? Does she think she can just swoop in in our lives and make us feel miserable?", Caroline ranted annoyed while her and Violet made their way towards their cars.
Violet opened her car door and turned to face the blonde, "I don't know. But I don't think that she's just here for fun."
The two remained silent before Caroline's eyes suddenly widened, "You're coming to the bonfire tonight, aren't you?"
Violet though about it for a small moment, she wasn't really feeling like partying, but then she nodded, "Yeah. I'll be there."
Caroline smiled at her before the two got into their cars, "Great."
In the course of the day, Violet came gk know that Klaus had left Mystic Falls and left Stefan as a little protector for his blood bank, Elena.
Stefan wasn't himself with his switch was off and Elena was determined to form a plan to get him back to his old self.
"I'll lure Stefan away from the fire. Then when he's distracted-", Elena started to explain her plan to the other's while they stood in an empty classroom.
Alaric continued for her, "I'll shoot him."
Damon sat by the window, seeming pretty bored, "Can't Bonnie just juju him or something?"
Elena immediately shook her head at him,"I'm trying to keep Bonnie out of this. I don't trust Stefan won't hurt her. Caroline, are you covered?"
"Yes, I will make sure the old Forbes jail cell is prepped and ready", the blond stated while nodding at them.
"You're forgetting a key player here- Rebekah", Damon spoke up once again, rolling his eyes at them. "Wherever Stefan goes, a blond ponytail tends to follow."
Elena turned to face him, "Which is why it's your job to keep her away."
Damon frowned at them confused, "How? She's an Original. Last time I checked, we're out of daggers."
Violet crossed her arms over her chest while she eyed him up and down, "So, then preoccupy her with your charm."
"Might have a better plan finding a dagger", Alaric stated, his hands placed on his hips.
"You ever not gonna be mad at me, Ric?", Damon questioned the brunette man with furrowed eyebrows.
"Doubtful."
Suddenly Tyler and Ethan came through the door, "Sorry, we're late. What's going on?"
"We need you to raid your mom's vervain supply. Enough to keep Stefan down for a while", Elena immediately informed the two while she nodded at Tyler.
The boy looked confused before he shook his head, "You can't do that to Stefan."
Caroline gave him a sceptical look, "Why not?"
"Trust me, Tyler, it's in his best interest", the brunette stated while she gave the two cousins a confused look.
"Yeah." Ethan frowned at his friends, "But it's not in Klaus'."
Violet's confusion only grew, while she spoke, "But Klaus is the bad guy, Ethan. Why are both of you acting like some freaky hybrid slave-minions?"
Damon slowly got onto his feet, his blue eyes piercing directly through Tyler and Ethan, "Oh-oh."
Caroline gave him a questioning look, "What?"
"Klaus made me who I am, Caroline. I own him everything", Tyler stated while Ethan remained silent, his arms crossed over his chest.
Damon was now standing next to Violet, his eyes still fixed on Ethan and Tyler, "Oh, boy."
"Okay, can we cool it on the commentary, please?!", Caroline exclaimed at Alaric and Damon.
Violet was confused to what was happening to her boyfriend, "What is going on?"
Ethan was now the one to speak up while he grabbed Tyler by the arm, "Everything is fine. Ty and I are just gonna go."
The two boy's had just turned their backs towards them when Damon vamp speeded towards them and rammed them both a vervain syringe into their necks.
"What are you doing?!", Caroline quickly approached the dead Tyler.
"They both been sired", Damon stated as if it was obvious, he looked down at the unconscious boys.
Violet's eyes were opened widely when she kneeled down next to Ethan, "What?"
The raven haired man turned back towards the rest of the group, "Sired. They feel loyal to Klaus because Klaus' blood created them."
Elena seemed confused, "Loyal, how?" Damon shrugged before he continued, "They'll seek the acceptance from their master, it's rare. Maybe not so much in Hybrids."
Caroline, who was now sitting besides Violet and looked up at him, searching for help, "So how do I fix him?"
Damon shrugged at her, "Get a new boyfriend."
THE TWO GIRLS were only one hour at the bonfire and Violet was already feeling drunk.
She knew that it wasn't good for their plan, but she just couldn't hold herself back. With her boyfriend being sired to Klaus and the whole drama with Stefan and the drama with her feelings, she just needed a little bit of boose to drink her sorrow away.
Violet's gaze moved over the crowd of people that surrounded them, before her eyes caught sighed of Rebekah and Damon.
The two were sitting by the fire, grilling marshmallows, while Damon heavily flirted with the blond vampire. Violet couldn't help but frown at them.
She slightly tightened her grip around her red plastic cup, while she felt this terrible feeling spread inside her stomach. The feeling she didn't wanna feel when she was looking at Damon with another girl.
Violet couldn't believe it. She was jealous. Why was she jealous? She had a boyfriend. Who she loved deeply since they were in middle school. Damon was bad for her and he had proven so many times that he was not a good person. Ethan had some anger issues but he was still a good person, and perfect for her.
Suddenly Elena's voice pulled her out of her daze, "Are you listening?" Violet's head immediately snapped towards her friend in surprise, "What?- I'm sorry, Elena."
The brunnette just gave her a small smile, "It's okay." The two turned to look at Damon and Rebekah, while they leaned against the tree behind them.
After a moment Stefan joined them, leaning against the tree with his hand, right next to Elena's head.
"Oh, Violet. What's that look?", he frowned at the teenage girl. She gave him a sceptical look, before she answered. "What look?"
"Oh, my brother got his flirt on. And you're jealous", the brunnette man stated when he followed her gaze to Damon. Violet scoffed loudly, not meeting Stefan's eyes while she frowned, "What- I'm not jealous."
Stefan raised his eyebrows at her, "No, it's alright, be jealous. By all means. I'm sure Damon will be thrilled."
Suddenly Elena spun around to him, giving him a dark glare, "She said she's not jealous, Stefan! She has a boyfriend!"
"Okay. My mistake", Stefan quickly apologized to her, seeming kind off amused. The brunette then threw her drink away, sighting annoyed by him, "Whatever. I'm out of here."
Elena gave him one last look, before she pushed past Stefan and left them behind.
Violet turned away from them, slowly making her way through the crowd, when she spotted Stefan following after Elena.
When Violet had finally made her way through the crowd and towards the football field, Alaric had already put Stefan to sleep.
"Oh, wow. That was easier then I thought", Violet mumbled to herself while she helped Alaric lifting the vampire into his car.
Elena quickly climbed into the front seat, while Violet closed the trunk while Alaric went to climb into the car, the doors suddenly won't open.
Violet's eyes widened when she spotted a line of fire spread towards the car.
"Elena!"
The two immediately tried to get the girl out of the car, but nothing worked.
Alaric then quickly spun around and hurried his way over to one of the containers.
Violet contiued to yank on the door handle until Alaric came back with a lacrosse bat. He hit against the window, but even that didn't work and the fire spread more and more.
Violet hit against the window when suddenly the back door of the car flew away. The dark haired girl and Alaric quickly rounded the car, pulling the two out.
Elena was quickly on her feet and the three then helped Stefan over to the gym, before the car suddenly exploded.
After that the mission had obviously miserably failed and the group went back to the Salvatore mansion to take care of the wounds they had suffered.
When Elena was finished she turned to look at Damona and Violet, who were in Damon's bathroom. Violet was sitting on the sink while Damon stood in-between her legs.
Elena gave them a small nodd, "I'm waiting in the car." The two women nodded at each other before the brunette left the room, leaving Damon and Violet alone.
"Damon, I can do it myself", Violet stated while she wanted to grabb the cotton swap from his hands. But Damon quickly put it out of her reach, "No-"
"Damon, come on-" The man shot her a look and his voice got louder and firm, "Violet!"
Her hand was still on his arm before she slowly let go of it while he spoke, "Your plan didn't work, you had a terrible evening. The least I can do is first aid."
He carefully continued cleaning her would, his eyes traveling from her cheekbones to her brown eyes.
The girl stared back into his blue eyes, releasing a small breath, she didn't even knew she was holding in.
She began fiddling nervously with her fingers, "You played your part of the plan really well tonight."
Damon's eyes narrowed at her while they remained on her wound. "Yeah", the dark haired girl nodded her head while she looked down to the ground. "I mean, you had Rebekah wrapped around your little finger with your marshmallows."
Damon let out a small chuckle, "Yeah, before she skewered me." He met her eyes, his surprise visible on his face, "I thought you would be to drunk to notice."
"I was a little- but I was faking most of it", the girl stated honestly while she met his gaze once more. Damon didn't take his eyes off of her, while he breathed out, "So was I."
The two continued to stare into each other's eyes, when Violet remembered that she should probably go check up on Ethan, who they had drove back to the Lookwood Mansion.
"So, - I should get going", the girl stated while she carefully hopped off of the sink and made her way past him.
Damon spun around, watching her every move while Violet made her way through his room.
Turning around the girl gave him one last smile, "Goodnight, Damon." The man nodded at her awkwardly, "Goodnight, Violet."
She then quickly left the room, making her way downstairs where she came to meet Stefan and Elena.
Her gaze wandered back and forth between the two, "Elena, are you ready to get going?"
Elena didn't look at her when she answered, "Yes." The two made their way towards the door before Stefan suddenly spoke up, "Elena, wait!"
The brunette turned to face him, "You could've let me die in that fire tonight. Why didn't you?" There was a moment of silence between them. "Because I still have hope", Elena responded to him, her eyes cold.
Stefan's eyes on the other hand were shining in the dim light of the room, "After everything I've done- you think I'll find humanity again?"
Elena nodded at him. "Yes, I do. I know who you really are. Better than anyone, Stefan. And I'm not giving up", the brunette told him, while she stared up into his green eyes.
Stefan held the intense eye contact with her, "Elena, do you have any idea how pathetic that makes you?"
Violet shook her head to herself, while Elena just continued to stare at him, her gaze cold, "No, Stefan. It makes me strong."
The brunette didn't flinch when she suddenly took a step forward, and impaled Stefan with wooden sticks.
The man immediately let out a loud grunt and fell to his knees, gasping for air.
Elena then threw her stake wristband to the ground and stormed out of the mansion, closely followed by Violet.
