Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  WHEN VIOLET CAME downstairs the very next morning, her mother's jacket was hanging over the living room chair, giving Violet the reassurance that her mother was home and probably in bed.

Ethan was still sleeping peacefully on the couch, his mouth hanging slightly open.

Violet smiled to herself while she made her way into the kitchen, pouring herself some cornflakes and milk into a bowl.

Adrian entered the kitchen shortly after, his hair standing into every direction. The boy sat down next to his sister by the kitchen counter, yawning loudly.

"Morning."

"Morning."

Adrian grabbed himself some coffee before he walked over to the couch and sat down next to the still sleeping Ethan.

"Are you going to the decade dance tonight?", Violet questioned her brother while she sat down on us opposite, still eating her breakfast.

"I thought about it- I wanted to ask Elena", the boy stated slowly while he shrugged. "She's going with Stefan."

"What?-", Violet exclaimed a little louder than she had intended to, waking Ethan up in the process.

The boy grumbled something under his breath before he rubbed his eyes and slowly opened them.

Violet gave him an apologizing look, "Sorry." But her gaze then immediately moved to her brother once more, "She's going with Stefan?"

"Yup- Caroline told me", the boy stated while he nodded. "So, I'm going with Matt. Both single."

Violet just looked at him before she nodded, "Well, that's okay."

"Are you going with someone?", Ethan suddenly questioned her, now sitting up on the couch. The duvet was slipping down, revealing his naked torso a little bit more.

Violet was distracted for a second, but she shook her head slowly, "Nobody asked me yet-"

"Well, do you wanna go to the dance with me?", Ethan then immediately questioned her, a small smile on his lips.

Violet smiled back at him, before she nodded, "I would love to."

The two continued to look at each other in silence, the smiles plastered on their faces.

Adrian loudly fake gagged before he got up, grumbling, "I can't hear this in the morning."

Violet threw a pillow at her brother before she exchanged an amused glance with Ethan.

It would be an eventful day for them, meeting up with their friends and celebrating that Ethan and Tyler were back in town, until it was time for them to get ready for the dance that was taking place in the evening.

The theme was the 20s, which Violet personally loved. The pearls the feathers, the dresses, everything was just so classy.

The dark haired girl was dancing with Ethan and giggled when he spun her around without a warning. The boy smiled at her while he pulled her back into his chest.

"I'm so glad I'm back", the hybrid boy stated smiling, while he twirled her once more and Violet smiled back at him. "I'm really glad that you're back as well."

The two continued dancing happily until suddenly Damon appeared behind them, a serious expression on his face, "We need to talk."

His eyes seemed to show a glint of surprise at Ethan's presence, but he played it off quickly by walking away from them, motioning for them to follow.

Violet immediately apologized to Ethan before she hurried out of the ball room after Stefan, Elena and Damon.

As soon as they had gathered in the hallway, Damon explained to them that Alaric wasn't taking his herbs and that his alter ego was probably in control once again.

"If Alaric's sick, then we need to find a cure- something", Elena stated while she crossed her arms over her chest.

Damon seemed like he was out of ideas, "We tried medicine, we tried magic."

"Why don't we get him off vervain? Compell him", Stefan suggested while he exchanged a look with the other's.

"To do what? Pretend to be Alaric? The guy that we know is gone. We're talking about someone who hates vampires, vampire sympathizers. Which makes one of his obvious targets- you two", Damon stated while he nodded over at Elena and Violet, a frown on his face.

Stefan immediately piped up, "What? You think he'd go after them?" Damon gave him a nodd before Elena spoke again, "So what are you suggesting we do?"

Damon gave him a look before he spoke, "I suggest that we put him out of his misery."

Violet immediately gave him a shocked look while she exclaimed, "What?"

"No way in hell", Jeremy suddenly joined their conversation, his voice determined.

"Oh come on! It's what he would want. It's a mercy killing", Damon told them simply, a frown on his face.

Jeremy shook his head, a disbelieving look on his face, "You are out of your mind!" Elena gave him a defeated look, "Jeremy-"

The boy held up his hand, motioning for her to stop taking to him before he turned on his heels and disappeared behind the corner.

Elena gave them one last look before she quickly followed after her little brother.

Violet remained with Damon and Stefan, her gaze firm when she spoke, "Nobody is gonna kill Alaric- we're gonna find something -"

"I'm all ears", Damon answered her, his voice dripping with sarcasm. Violet immediately shot him a death glare, but she remained silent.

"Guys- Esther is back- we need you outside!", Jeremy exclaimed while he came to a stand infront of them.

They all exchanged a alarmed look before they hurried outside. They were just about to leave the property of the school when Damon and Stefan suddenly stopped.

Jeremy and Violet turned towards them, confused as to why they had stopped walking, but Damon and Stefan seemed just as surprised as they were.

Their eyes then slowly wandered down towards the ground, spotting the salt trail that was on the ground, "Salt- it's a binding agent for a spell."

Damon sighed deeply, "We're trapped here." He then exchanged a look with Stefan before he spoke again, "Okay- were gonna need Bonnie to break the spell- I'm gonna go look for her. We're gonna meet in the cafeteria."

The man then spun around and made his way back inside the school. After Damon had found Bonnie, she immediately lit a couple of candles and stared chanting something in Latin taht nobody understood.

"She does this all the time, right?", Jamie questioned Violet, who only gave him a short nodd.

"What's taking so long? All boundary spells have a loophole", Klaus loudly made his restlessness known, his voice making his annoyance clear.

Bonnie gave the original a hateful glare before Matt entered the room in a hurry, "People are walking right out of the dance, past the barrier."

"If Matt, Adrian and I can leave, we can stop Esther ourselves", Jeremy suggested quickly. "We just gotta find out where she is."

"That's Suicide, Jeremy", Stefan told him calmly, his hands in the pockets of his trousers.

Suddenly Klaus sped forward and grabbed Jamie by the throat, making him gasp for air. "Suicide would be disappointing me. Now, work your magic, witch or I'll start killing people you fancy."

"Let him go-", Bonnie demanded, pure hate and fear in her eyes but her voice still trembled.

"Not until you get us out of here", Klaus answered her, a cold look in his eyes.

Stefan immediately stepped forward, his body language still relaxed, "Oh, don't be stupid Klaus! Bonnie doesn't give a damn about us. The only reason she's helping right now is to save Caroline and Tyler. You start killing the people she cares about, she'll tell us all to go to hell."

Klaus stated into Jamie's eyes before he glanced at Bonnie and after a moment he forcefully let go of Jamie's throat. The boy immediately gasped for air and Violet released a deep breath.

It didn't took Bonnie long to figure out where Esther and Elena were located and after that Jeremy, Matt and Adrian were on their way to the cemetery.

Violet didn't agree with the fact that her brother was going up against Esther, but he wouldn't listen to her when she tried to talk him out of it.

Violet stayed behind and joined Caroline, Tyler, Ethan and Stefan, who were in the gym. "They're at the old cemetery. Jeremy, Adrian and Matt are headed there now."

"You let them go? They're gonna get killed!", Caroline exclaimed, her eyes wide in shock while she stared at Stefan.

"We didn't have a choice. We're useless right now stuck in here-", Stefan rokd her whike pacing up and down infront of them.

"Hey- she'll be fine. Elena always manages to find her way through this stuff", Caroline tried to assure him.

"Yeah, well, I'm just worried about what Esther is up to. She led Klaus here for a reason. If she succeeds in whatever she's doing -", Stefan answered her, the worry visible on his face.

"Klaus could get killed- and we die along with him", Tyler stated from the tribune he and Ethan were sitting on.

Stefan immediately met Tyler's eyes with a firm look, "No one's gonna die. Okay? Bonnie's still looking for a way around the boundary spell. It's not too late."

Stefan then slowly spun around and left the gym to check up on Bonnie.

Caroline and Violet exchanged a look before the blond vampire decided to speak up, "So best-case scenario, Bonnie gets us out of here, Klaus hauls his ass to Timbuktu and you and I, we're home free."

Tyler's face showed an expression of negativity, "Or we let Esther come and kill him."

Caroline immediately frowned deeply at him, "That's not a best-case scenario. That's not even a remotely acceptable scenario."

"It'd be an option if we knew he wasn't the one who turned your bloodline. You'd be safe. He'd be gone", Tyler stated while he looked into Caroline's eyes.

Violet friends while Caroline questioned him, a shocked look on her face, "How could you say that?"

"Because I'm angry- because I hate him! I should've never let him dance with you!"", Tyler yelled at her in anger and annoyance.

"What were you supposed to do? He can't know that you're not sired anymore!" Caroline exclaimed at him before she slowly approached the boy and sat down besides him. "Tyler, it doesn't matter how many times I dance with him. I love you-"

The two looked into each other's eyes before Caroline softly kissed Tyler and Ethan and Violet exchanged a small smile while they sat next to each other, just intertwining their hands with each other.

Bonnie didn't take long to break the spell and destroy the barrier that kept the supernatural beings inside the school.

But when Violet arrived at the cemetery everything has already went down and she was told that Esther had attempted to turn Alaric into a vampire slash vampire hunter.

The only thing to complete his transition was to drink blood, but Alaric had decided that he would not complete the transition. And that meant that the man would die.

Violet knew that this would break Elena and Jeremy. Alaric was the last person that they had left that was anything near a legal guardian.

The dark haired girl stood next to Ethan and Adrian while she watched how Elena and Alaric exited the mausoleum.

Elena slowly joined the other's that all stood by the graves, paying the tribute to Alaric while the man gave them a small nodd and then headed back into the mausoleum.

Before Violet was about to accompany Jeremy, Matt and Adrian to the Grill, she watched how Meredith fell gave Alaric the sedative that would make him fall asleep before death came.

Meredith then said her goodbye and left with tears in her eyes after she had said goodbye to Violet.

The dark haired girl then made her way over to Damon, who sat on one of the stone, a bourbon bottle in his hands.

Violet stuffed her hands into her coat, while she glanced at the man infront of her, "Meredith gave him a sedative. He'll fall asleep first. She told me that he'll go comfortably."

Damon shrugged with his shoulders while he took a sip from his bourbon bottle, "Well, I offered to snap his neck, put him out of his misery, but he didn't take me up on it."

Violet frowned at him in confusion, "You seem surprised."

Damon raised his eyebrows at her, "Well, you just think a guy that's so used to dying wouldn't wanna drag it out."

"Well, it was nice of you to give him the option", Violet stated calmly while he wtached Damon.

The man smiled a small smile at her and shrugged once more, "Apparently, my choices have been a little controversial lately."

"You shouldn't leave him alone in there", Violet stated, ignoring his words while she felt the tears slowly whelm up in her eyes.

"That's what he wants-", Damon answered her while glancing back at the mausoleum.

Violet looked down into his eyes, a single tear rolling down her cheek, "Is that really what you think he wants?"

There was silence between them before the girl slowly turned on her heels and walked towards Jeremy, Adrian and Matt, who were waiting for her a little further away.

Violet whipped her tears away before she followed the teenage boys to the Grill.

Matt unlocked the bar and the four were sitting around the bar counter in silence. The blond boy then proceeded to fill up their shot glasses and handed them out to them.

"To Mr. Saltzman-" Matt then spoke while he held his filled shot glass up into the air. "Alaric", Jeremy said while he also held his shot glass up.

"To Alaric", Adrian and Violet exclaimed in union, before clicking their glasses with Matt's and Jeremy's.

They all downed their shot and Violet felt her heart break for Jeremy when she saw how a single tear rolled down his cheek.

The girl immediately wrapped her arms around his shoulders and gave him a tight squeeze, hoping that he would somehow come to accept and live with his burden.

Β  Β  Β  Β  Β Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  ELENA HAD BEEN devestated that night and Violet knew that she couldn't and shouldn't leave the girl alone that night. So she had decided to stay overnight and take care of the Gilbert siblings.

They had decided to paint Alarics room in a new color, because Elena couldn't bear to look at his room. And they only went to bed very late in the night. Only to be awoken by Damon and Stefan, who stood on the front porch with Bonnie by their side.

The girl was still dressed in the cloths from the decade dance and her neck was covered in blood.

They all made their way into the kitchen before Damon explained everything to them.

"What do you mean he turned, I thought you were standing guard!", Stefan exclaimed while he handed Bonnie something to clean up with.

"Don't blame me! Blame Bonnie the blood bank! She fed him!", Damon argued back at his brother while accusing Bonnie.

"I had no idea what was happening - okay, the witches led me there. They wanted him to feed so he'd turn", the witch immediately defended herself.

"So where's the stake now!", Stefan questioned them immediately.

"Oh, you mean the white oak one- The one that can kill an Original and can whipe out an entire line of vampire's? We don't know", Damon told him while he gave Bonnie a death glare.

"If you are so upset with me, why'd you feed me your blood to save my life?", Bonnie spat at him, still pressing the towel onto her wound.

Damons eyes widened slightly before he started speaking, "Because I do stupid things, Bonnie. I do things like let my friend die in dignity when I should've just killed him."

Stefan knew that they would not come to a solution if the two continued to argue like that, so he jumped in, "Alright, so how do we kill him now?"

"I've been trying to figure that out. A witch can't truly make an immortal creature. There's always a way to undo a spell", Bonnie told him more calmly.

"So what's the witchy workaround?", Damon questioned her while he leaned onto the chair that stood infront of him.

Bonnie sighed deeply, a clueless look on her face, "That's the problem- I don't know."

The brothers exchanged a look with each other in silence before Stefan went upstairs to get Elena down.

Bonnie and Violet remained in the kitchen and Violet helped the witch clean up her wound.

"What do you mean she's not here? Where'd she go?", Damon questioned Stefan, which made Bonnie and Violet pipe up. "What's going on?"

"Klaus wants in- we have to keep him out." Damon stated while he peeking through the curtains and watched Klaus.

A moment later he threw himself onto the ground, screaming"Duck!"

The glass of the window shattered and a wooden piece flew into the living room.

"I think you probably want to let me in!", Klaus voice came from outside.

"Elena's car is gone", Stefan informed them and Violet frowned. "Why wouldn't she tell anyone where she was going?"

Suddenly the front door of the house flew open and Klaus stood in the frame, a large wooden stick in his hand.

The man had a devilish smirk on his lips before he started throwing them at the group that still stood in the kitchen.

"Get down!"

Damon immediately threw back at the original and the two started going back and forth.

Stefan's phone rung and he immediately picked up, "Alaric-"

Meanwhile Klaus was threatening to put the house on fire.

Stefan's confused face expression changed into one of worry before he hung up the phone and walked over to Klaus, "Put it out-",

"Come outside and make me", the original hybrid told him, a devilish smirk on his face.

But his smirk fell slightly when Stefan actually stepped outside and onto the front porch, "Elena's not here, Alaric has her and Caroline. He's gonna kill them both unless you turn yourself over to him."

Klaus immediately threw the fire away and his face showed his frustration. His eyes narrowed at Stefan, "Now, I know you're not asking me to walk into a certain death."

Stefan sighed defeated, "I wish we could. But if Ric kills you, there's a 1 in 4 chance we die too."

"I'll take those odd", Damon joined the conversation, a smirk on his lips while he eyes Klaus.

"And a 100 percent chance Tyler dies", Stefan continued, making Damon pipe up once more, "Could live with that too."

Klaus and Stefan just ignored Damon's comments,"Why don't we just figure out a way to put Alaric down?"

Stefan took Klaus's silence for a yes and proceeded to think of a way to defeat Alaric.

Meanwhile Violet helped Bonnie change into normal cloths and the two of them came downstairs, listening in on the conversation.

"Okay, how about Damon sneaks in and distracts Alaric, while Stefan grabs Elena and carries her to safety?", Klaus suggested, a smile on his face.

"Oh, that's a great idea. What's to stop me from getting killed instantly?", Damon questioned him, a frown on his face.

Klaus shrugged, "Nothing."

Damon approached the original slowly, "Caroline's in there. Don't you have a thing for her? Of did she just reject you too many times?"

"This isn't really helping too much", Stefan warned Klaus and Damon, annoyance in his voice.

"I might have an idea-", Bonnie suddenly interrupted their conversation. "My mom used a dedication spell on Mikeal that immobilized him for over 15 years. If I can get it, I might be able to use it on Alaric."

"If and might. Your words inspire so much confidence ", Klaus stated while he gave her a unconvinced look, a smirk on his face.

"I'll get it. But even with the spell we'll need a lot of vampire muscle to take him down- including yours", Bonnie gave him a pointed look.

Klaus gave them a defeated look before he spoke, the impacience clear in his voice, "Just so we're clear, the sun sets in about eight hours. If we don't succeed before then, Elena will be dead, I'll be gone and the rest of you will be left to fend for yourselves."

Bonnie and Violet immediately contacted Jamie, who made contact with Bonnie's mother. He told them that's she promised to be there and that meant that Bonnie and Violet could only wait and hope now.

"Well, this is promising -" Damon stated while he sat on the couch behind them, his feet up on the table.

Bonnie sighed deeply while she paced up and down infront of the door. "Relax, Abby will be here."

"I'm sorry- I forgot about her stellar track record in the dependency department", Damon commented sarcasticly, which made Violet shoot him a glare. "Shut up!"

"Jamie said that she was coming, okay. Just give her time", Bonnie told him in annoyance before the door bell suddenly rang.

Bonnie immediately went to open the door while Damon called after her. "Don't get your hopes up, might be a Gril scout!"

Bonnie opened the door and revealed Abby, who greeted her, "Hello, Bonnie."

Bonnie tried to stay formal, "Thanks for coming."

Abby nodded at her, "Jamie's worried about you, he said it was urgent- I just didn't think that you'd ever wanna see me again."

Bonnie watched her for a moment, "Like Jamie said, it's urgent." The witch then turned around and led the woman into the living room, where Damon and Violet sat on the couch.

"Why didn't I have to be invited in?", Abby questioned them curiously while looking around the living room.

"Only Vampires live here", Bonnie explained to her shortly.

"We'd signed over the deed to Elena, but she died and the seal broke. It's a very long story-", Damon started explaining while he stood up, taking his glass, filled with blood in his hand.

He then offered her his glass and raised his eyebrows, "Blood?" Abby gave him a cold look and Damon frowned at her, "Oh, come on! Think of it as a piece offering."

Abby remained silent and stared at him, making Damon retreated his hand. "Fine, more for me." The man then turned around and exchanged a wide eyes look with Bonnie before he sat down besides Violet.

"We called you here because I need your help with a spell- Esther created a vampire that can't be killed. I wanna dedicate him like you did to Mikeal."

"Bonnie, it's too dangerous- You're magic comes from the earth. It's pure. This spell asks you to tap into dark places. Places of temptation, places you can't handle."

Bonnie immediately frowned at the woman in confusion, "You've turned your back on me for 16 years. You have no idea what I can handle."

Damon engaged into the conversation once more, "Gotta say, I'm team Bonnie on this one. How hard can it be to patch a vampire?"

"The spell allowes you to stop a vampire's heart. The blood will stop flowing and his body will desiccate."

Bonnie's nodded at her mother, "That's exactly what we wanna do."

Abby watched he closely while she continued, her eyebrows raised, "To stop a vampire's heart you need to find a balance among the living- Can you handle that?"

"What? What does that mean? Bonnie, I don't speak witch", Damon questioned them confused, a frown on his face.

"She needs to stop a human heart", Violet explained to him, her face showing her shock.
