ELEANOR WAS IN ONE OF THE MOST AWKWARD SITUATIONS OF HER LIFE. Caroline was talking to Meredith about her dad at the hospital, and Eleanor and Elena had come with her. However, since the blonde was gone, that left the two brunettes alone, neither of them wanting to say a word to the other because of the small speech that Eleanor gave on the night of Caroline's birthday. They just kept shooting each other weird glances while they waited.
The Chetwood girl was still angry with her for acting like since Jeremy was only sixteen, he couldn't understand any "big kid" decisions. Elena had no right to compel Jeremy away.
Caroline, luckily, came back pretty fast, and she had a confused and slightly surprised look on her face. The brunette girl glanced at Meredith who seemed pretty nice when she had spoken with her. It was a little weird how casually she mentioned the part about the vampire blood, and it made the Chetwood wonder where she got it from. She kept walking down the hallway, and the other two joined her side. The Gilbert girl commented, "That was fast."
"Yeah, he's not here. He was already discharged," the Forbes girl informed them before turning to Elena since Alaric had been hanging out with Meredith a lot. Eleanor furrowed her eyebrows, wondering why Bill did not call his daughter if he had been discharged. She was also expecting at least a text from him, wondering whether they were meeting up to turn again or if she was just going on her own. "And she seems perfectly nice by the way...a little intense, maybe, but I think it's sweet, you wanna make sure Alaric's not dating a total psycho."
"He's my family. I have to look out for him," Elena explained as Caroline reached her phone up to call her father. All of a sudden, she lowered the phone from her ear and had a blank look on her face. Eleanor froze as well because she had a pretty good idea about what was happening based on what she was hearing. "What?" the human asked, noticing their confused and shocked expressions.
Eleanor answered for her friend, this being the first time that she had spoken directly to Elena since the party. "We hear it."
"Hear what?" the doppelganger questioned with her face scrunched up in confusion.
"My dad's phone," the blonde girl responded, and she turned and walked into a medical supply room that was a couple of feet away from them. The other two followed after her, and they passed numerous shelves, but when they reached the back, they gasped. There was Bill, sitting upright against a shelf, and he had a knife sticking out of his chest. "Dad! Dad?"
Both she and Eleanor rushed to his side to check on him and make sure that he was still breathing as Elena gasped, "Oh my god."
"Don't be dead, don't be dead, don't be dead! Oh my god!" the Forbes girl cried as she shook him, trying to get him to wake up. Eleanor knew that she could hear his pulse, though, just as she could. Well, lack of pulse. She pulled the knife out of his chest and dropped it on the ground. "Daddy!"
"Caroline...He has vampire blood in his system," the human reminded them, noticing the blood on the knife. The Chetwood's eyes widened when she realized that she was right, remembering Meredith's speech about how mad he was that he was saved by vampire blood. She remembered him commenting on the fact that he should not have healed as fast as he did.
Caroline looked up at her in shock, not really processing what she had said. She exclaimed, "What?"
And they all jumped back when Bill gasped and sat up, awake.

ELEANOR WALKED INTO THE ROOM THAT CAROLINE AND BILL WERE SITTING IN. They had found an empty room in the hospital where they could talk about what happened. She informed them, "I compelled the nurse to stay out of this room. You'll be safe here."
"My wound is completely healed," he told them, letting them know that he did not need a place to rest and heal. All he could focus on was his insatiable hunger. He just did not realize that it was for blood and not food. "I need something to eat."
"Daddy, why don't you just come lay down and just relax?" the blonde girl suggested, patting the led that she was sitting on. He really did need to calm down. He seemed very antsy and energetic. It had been centuries, but Eleanor could still remember feeling weird and skittish.
"I can't," he answered with the shake of his head, and he was pacing around the room. The Chetwood was sure that he would just walk right out if she had not been standing there and guarding the door. "I'm too wired and my pulse is racing. It's the effect of my body wanting to transition."
Caroline sighed at her father's stubbornness, knowing that there was no way that she was going to change his mind. She had tried, and that was good enough. Trying to help, she offered, "Well, maybe Doctor Fell can give you something."
"She's done enough," he informed them, and apparently he was still pissed about the fact that she gave him vampire blood since he was now one. Or, close to being one.
Elena walked in at that moment, almost slamming Eleanor into the wall since she was standing right by the door. Luckily, the girl had fast enough reflexes to get out of the way, or else that would have made for a very very awkward situation. The Gilbert girl would have to apologize and ask if she was okay and everything. "I called your mom."
"Thanks," the blonde girl responded, shooting her a grateful smiled.
Eleanor turned to the man, who was glaring at her as he remembered their previous interaction. "Did you see your attacker?"
"I didn't see anything," he replied with a groan, leaning back on the wall and finally taking a small break from pacing the whole time. "Tried to sneak out the back exit, and someone came up from behind."
"Look, we'll figure this out, but in the meantime we need to get you some blood," Caroline told him, and she shot Eleanor a look that told her that she needed to find a way to rob the blood banks. She nodded.
She went to step out, but the Forbes man stopped her, holding his hand up and informing his daughter, "I'm not going to drink any blood."
"You have to. You died with vampire blood in your system. If you don't feed and finish the transition into a vampire then you'll die," Elena said, as if the man did not already know the rules of vampirism. He knew what was going to happen if he did not drink blood, and he had accepted it.
"I understand how it works. And that's what I'm prepared to do. Now get me out of this hospital. I smell blood everywhere," he explained to them, and even though Eleanor knew how much he hated vampires, she was surprised that he would leave his daughter like that. "And you should not be with my daughter right now. Isn't there something else you need to do?"
Knowing what he meant, Caroline sighed, "Daddy..."
"No, Care. It's fine. He's right. I'm gonna go head out to the cellar. I'll see you later," the hybrid told them, knowing that he meant what he said when he told Tyler that he could not go near Caroline until the Sire bond was broken.
Eleanor went home to give Caroline and her father some privacy on their last day together, but she had never driven faster when she received the text from the Forbes girl to come over. Liz let her in and nodded to her daughter's room, and the Chetwood girl knocked and then entered. Caroline was sobbing, her head in her hands.
"He didn't want to be a vampire?" the brunette asked, but she already knew the answer. Bill had decided not to complete the transition and had killed himself before he died of blood starvation. The blonde girl shook her head, and Eleanor immediately climbed into the bed with her and gave her a hug. "I'm so sorry, Caroline."
The Forbes girl sobbed out, "I knew he hated vampires, but I always thought that he loved me more."
