ELEANOR CHETWOOD HAD NOT BEEN TO MYSTIC FALLS IN OVER A CENTURY. The last time she visited the small town, it had not ended very well. However, when she heard that Stefan Salvatore was back in town, she thought that maybe it was time to return and accomplish something that she had been working on for a long time.

Opening the tomb that held her best friend.

She had spent a long time gathering information and researching what exactly it would take to get that tomb open, and she needed a witch. Not just any witch, but one descended from Emily Bennett, the witch that sealed the tomb in the first place. 

So, as soon as she arrived in town, she needed to get to work immediately. She needed to find the Bennetts and the tomb, and she needed to convince the witches to help her. It was going to be difficult, which was why she needed to stay focused on the goal.

But staying focused becomes increasingly more difficult the longer that she stays in the small town. She gets acquainted with quite a few people that she did not expect to get attached to. One of those people was Caroline Forbes, a perky blonde that was the complete opposite of Eleanor and everyone she had ever been friends with. 

As her mission ends in disappointment and a broken heart, Eleanor should've gotten the hell out of Mystic Falls while she could. Instead, she gets swept up in the tornado that seemed to be hovering over the town for a century, and it was not going away any time soon.

And most of all, she got lost in the wonder that was Caroline Forbes.
