After Bruce finished taking a blood sample, skin tissues, and a few tests on her body structures, Eve rolled down her sleeve.
On the latest one, she wasn't sure for what but complied with his request.
Even for the man himself, it was pretty odd to find the girl rather accepting his presence while tenses with the other members, including her father.
"Is that all?" Eve asks, leaning forward from the high chair beside his table while he makes notes over some pieces of information.
Bruce spun from his chair, fixing his glasses and flash a soft smile. "Yes, that's would be all. Thank you for cooperating."
"Sure, may go now?" The young girl asks, glancing at Pepper, who silently keeps her company then back to the doctor.
"Yes, you can. So that you know, we need this for future references." Bruce informs, hoping the girl won't be too alarmed by their intentions. "Everyone has been in your place. This might help for any medical issues if anything happens-" His eyes widen in a second after he speaks the last word and quickly adds. "N-not that we hope anything happens or-or you will-"
"Relax, doc, I understand." Eve cut the poor man, rambling. "But thank you for your concerns. By the way-" Frown appears on her forehead as she put her elbow over the side of the cold metal desk. "I thought there are more members? Or am I being silly?"
Chuckling as he put down the pen. "There are few others, but they aren't here for the moments."
"So, where are they?"
"Well." He spun, looking at the younger Stark and offer her a smile. "We have Vision, who used to be the AI-"
"JARVIS, right? I heard about him."
"That's the one. But he's more of a synthezoid." Bruce muses.
"And there are the Maximoff twins," Pepper adds, hoping Eve could make friends with those two since they are the nearest by age to the teenage girl. "Wanda and Pietro Maximoff."
"Weird girl and roadrunner?"
Bruce laughs at the nickname, thinking how same she was with her father at naming people. "They have been assigned in a mission. We have Rhodey aka War Machine-"
"Another tin can?" The brunette snort making the older woman thinned her lips, suppressing her giggles.
"And Sam Wilson, aka Falcon."
"And another bird, what next? Woodpecker?"
The scientist can only shake his head in amused at the girl's reference. 'She is his daughter.'
"How about Spider-Boy?"
"Spider-Man. That guy's around, but only Tony knows his identity." The girl hum, understanding.
"You seem intrigued by Loki." Bruce bluntly asks, hoping to help ease his science partner, who informed them beforehand of the girl's interests in the dangerous prisoner. "May I know why?"
She was debating her thought for a while and lean back against her chair. "First of all, Loki's a god, which was quite evident. Not every day, we meet a myth. I read about this guy before, in a book I founded at a library when I was eleven. It stated that Loki was a devious deity known for his many schemes and deceptions. A shapeshifter."
Pepper let out an amused chuckle, noticing the twinkles of excitement she often sees in her lover's eyes and gently takes a seat on the nearest chair, knowing they will be there for a bit longer.
"I just have this thought after reading about him, is this Loki, the one we just saw-" She points over her back as if the god is standing there. "Is his real form. He can shapeshift into anyone or anything. And, and!" Her tone becomes louder out of excitement. "He has a child of a wolf, a serpent and eight-legged horse. Was he the mother? Or did he impregnate the female creatures? How?! Did he turn himself into the male? He can do tricks too. This Loki can do magic or-or illusions. Like-um- what if he turns water into wine? Is he drinking wine or water that looks like wine but taste like water?"
Bruce was silent during all the rambling and peeked at Pepper, who shrugs, also taken aback by the girl bursts.
"W-what about Thor?"
Eve gave him a look. "He's quite a boring god to me. You get it, right? Loki's more complicated god, and this intrigued me; his whole existence was interesting, so I'll stick to the cold one."
"But he's a formidable god." He worriedly reminds her.
"So does everyone in the building Doc." She counters directly. "No offence, but right now, I'm surrounded by a former assassin, a skilled marksman, a super-soldier, and you."
"None taken." He sighs, understanding her words which weren't to hurt his feeling but more of the truth. The existence of the green guy in him alone is far too dangerous for the young brunette, yet he wants to warn her on someone else. "Just be careful, okay?"
"Don't worry, Mr Glowy already gave me an hour full of a lecture."
Bruce raises his eyebrows, the corner of his lip twitching. "You mean Tony?"
"Who else wears a light bulb on their chest?"
"He worried about you, you know?"
"Didn't have to. I've lived this long without him."
Her words make Pepper scrunches her face knowing how the girl wasn't fond of the topic.
The man sigh. "Eve-" but someone cut off his speech.
"Hey, what's up?" Tony appear.
"With you here, my mood." Eve counter.
Tony gave her a look. "Seriously, young lady. You have a horrible attitude."
"Tony-" Pepper slowly warns, not wanting these moments to worsen their relationship.
"Thank you for noticing. I guess you're smarter than you look." With that, Eve walks out of the lab, leaving her father and Pepper, whose shoulders shaking from laughing.
The billionaire looks toward his buddy, who acts like he didn't listen by typing something on the computer.
"How did you manage even to control her?"
Bruce looks at Tony, smugly smile. "What can I say? I'm quite a charmer?" then continue his works, leaving the baffled billionaire.
"Where did sassy Brucie come from?" Tony screech at his girlfriend but only replied by smirking Banner and head-shaking Pepper.
Eve realises that she didn't know which way her room is and all members have disappeared, so she decided to get to the lounge floor where she met them.
Peering around and sees nobody, she continues her ways toward the kitchen and stops when she witnessed a familiar god glaring at the refrigerator.
"What are you doing?" She asks, noticing the raven-haired god rapidly spun with a look of surprise. To engross with the new figure in Midgard, he didn't recognise her presences. His expression softens when she saw the girl, glad that it wasn't the archer or the red-haired woman who keep glaring dagger at him, worse, the armoured man with glowing metal in his chest.
"Nothing." He answers, too fast, much for his dislike.
The brunette snort. "Yeah, right. Just open it if you're hungry. Then, hold the handle and pull it open. Easy." She explains.
"I know how to open this thing." He hissed, sneering at her for thinking so little of his awareness.
"So why didn't you open it?" Eve flash him a dubious look.
The god sigh, embarrassed to say it out loud. "I was ordered not to touch anything."
The young brunette look at him deadpanned. "Where's the lightning rod?"
Loki raised an eyebrow, amused. "Thor? He's back in Asgard. Supposedly, clean up the mess I caused."
"Some brother you've there."
"He is not my brother." He glare, daring her to call Thor his brother again.
"Yeah, whatever." She walks near the refrigerator and opens it. "Here. Anything that catches your eyes?"
The god glance inside the refrigerator and frown, not knowing any of foods.
The girl notices the way he try-hard, hoping to recognise anything inside the cooler."Would you like some recommendation?"
Loki cleared his throat, straightening his back. "Go on."
"How about pizza? I can warm it up for you."
"I never heard of it but sure."
"Take a seat, and it will finish in few minutes."
The raven hair god spun to take a seat but stop, frowning.
"What's wrong?" Eve glimpse at the god, confused by his expressions.
"I can't touch anything, remember." He rolls his eyes, remembering her in a 'duh' tone.
Eve sigh. "Relax. You are overthinking everything. Who gave you such an absurd order?"
"Stark." He states truthfully.
The brunette scoff. "Of course, it's him."
"I thought he is your father."
"He's not my father." She hissed, eyes flashing the same looks as Loki did when she was mentioning his brother.
"Why not?"
"Why should he be?"
The god sigh, noting her stubbornness and not in the mood for a fight with the mortal. "Enough of that." He deliberately takes a seat but still being cautious, making the girl snort in amusement.
Eve put the pizza on the table and sat on the chair in front of the god.
Loki frown as he took sight of the dish then at the girl.
"It tastes better than it looks. I assure you."
"Where the utensils?"
"Just eat it with your hand."
Loki grimaced. "Have you no manners?"
"No, I've none. Now, more eating, less whining."
He then tries to grab a piece, but Eve stops him. "It still hot. Wait for it to cool down a little."
The god raise an eyebrow. "There's no need for that." He placed his hand on top of the plate, his hand slowly turning blue with marking trailing from his sleeve, and what seems to be mini snowflakes falls on top of the pizza.
After a few seconds, he pulls back his hand. "I think that will be enough."
The brunette touches the pizza, noting that it is still warm but not enough to burn her hand and tongue, yet it isn't too cold that she need to reheat it. "That's awesome tricks you get there."
"Tricks? What am I, a jester?" He narrows his eyes, taking a piece for himself and take a bite.
"How was it?" Eve asks, brushing off his words.
"Not too bad. I had worse." He states, finding mortal's food surprising acceptable for his taste bud.
"Told you, it's good." She comments then continues to eat. "What else can you do?"
"Nothing." Loki answer, not offering any more words.
"What do you mean?" The girl put down her piece and scoot closer.
"Odin has given me this." He shows her a pair of bracelets on both of his hand. They made of gold, she assumes, with symbols and Asgardian's words on them.
"They were created to block most of my power as punishment."
"So you're powerless?"
"You can put it that way."
"Well, if this could make you felt any better, I think your brain is better than Thor's muscle."
"Is it?"
"Yup." She states, smirking, resumes eating.
Loki stares at the pizza in his hand and smiles sincerely. 'Finally, someone other than you, mother, acknowledge my effort.'
