Hey, hi. nice to meet you, I'm [name] and right now probably isn't the best time for introductions because I'm currently chasing after my cat who is constantly just being rather...annoying.

Anyways, I didn't have time for all of that since I had to get ready for this new school. me and my best friend miles recently moved here few months back.

I struggled to put on my shoe as I hopped around on one leg, I had gotten scratched by one of my other cats nearly, my mom...she- she's like a uh, what do they call it? I wouldn't say cat lady— yeah she's a cat lady.

I put on a loose oversized (f/c) chore coat with some brown converse and a (f/c) uniform shirt for that new school I was going to with some jeans.

I had my headphones on as I was listening to my favorite song, I didn't hear my mom calling my name cause I was too busy being distracted.

"[Name]..."

I was bopping my head to the music while rummaging through my closet not even hearing a word my mom was saying.

"[Name]..!"

I jumped and snatched my headphones off, my mom stood in the doorway with her arms crossed and shaking her head.

"Yes? yeah?" I called out and grabbed my backpack, she gestured to her watch and snapped her fingers.

"Let's go." she says and gives me a small smile but then it fades away when she sees the shirt I got bleach on, "what'd I tell you about that? I let you off the hook for a second and then this happens!"

"Sorry mom, sorry! I gotta go I ain't got time to talk sorry." I say and grab my things, she followed right behind me and stopped me by grabbing my wrist.

"Wait, wait here. remember to call me okay?" My mom says before placing a kiss on my forehead and I cringed, "Eh- don't do that please thank you, love you." I said and ducked away out of her grasp.

She just smiled and watched as I ran out the door and slammed it behind me, I was like, the goofiest only child I swear man.

I made my way over to pick miles up, I decided to wait at the stairs for him so I sat down and grabbed my phone. do least to say, miles has been acting very weird around me lately. I don't know if it's something I did but honestly, I'm not gonna question it.

I turned around and glanced behind me when I heard the door open, miles mom was peppering kisses on his cheek. Miles noticed I was standing there which made him blush.

"Okay, okay I gotta go. love you mom bye!" Miles shouted and he ran down the stairs to catch up with me, "Please tell me you didn't see that. please."

I just looked at him with a raised eyebrow before shaking my head while holding my hands up slightly, "I didn't see anything at all."

"See you both Friday." I heard rio say and I waved, "See you!" I then walked next to miles.

There was a comfortable silence between the both of us, miles had on my watch which I had lost in his room last time.

Miles glanced over at me before fiddling with his fingers, "so uhm..how's your mom with the new job and everything? I heard she was excited about it."

"Oh! that's going good. It's going good. just a lot of stress and stuff." I replied, "she actually owns a diner just up the street. hasn't opened it yet but she's planning to."

Miles nodded and there was more silence between the both of us, I scratch the back of my neck and continue walking next to him.

Everyone who we knew was now asking us how was the school which we didn't even get into yet, I didn't go into depths cause I wasn't as really talkative and socializing as miles was.

Not saying he's talkative but he's a peoples person, I'm not. I'm rather quiet about most things, the only one who can really bring that side out of me is miles.

Miles grabbed some stickers from out of his pockets which I didn't pay any mind to, I grabbed my phone and looked through my contacts.

I didn't notice miles trip over his shoe laces and fall onto the ground, but his father appeared and miles groaned.

"Uh oh, someones in trouble." I say as I chuckled, Miles turned to me with a pleading look, "come with me..please?" he begged.

I shook my head, "I don't think so. but I'll see you up there. gotta suffer the consequences of whatever you did." I say with a chuckle as I walked away from miles who groaned once more.

I made my way towards the new school, everyone who was looking at me raised an eyebrow at my clothing style. I looked back at them, "What? does something Interest y'all or somethin'?" I say as I put a hand on my hip.

They all turned away and I saw someone roll they're eyes. great, nice impression there [name]. that was so amazing.

Noticed the sarcastic tone there? yep I did also. I crossed my arms and turned away from everyone, just shaking my head. I never make good first impressions unfortunately.

I saw miles walk up the stairs after he had spoken with his dad, he placed his hands on both my shoulders while blowing out a sigh of relief, "he made me say 'I love you' in front of the whole school. literally." Miles said, I'm guessing he meant Mr.Morales then.

I stared at him before I burst out laughing and he glared at me playfully with huff, "What's so funny?! c'mon man, I thought you out of all people would've had my back. estúpido." Miles says and I start laughing again.

I walked next to miles as we made our way inside the school, my head was hung low so no one could see us.

"Hey, good morning. how you doin'?" I heard miles say to a group of girls and I groaned into my hands, he was attempting to make friends already.

Then some girl tapped miles on the shoulder and he turned to her, "hey. your shoe's untied." she said.

I turned to her, "he's aware isn't he? so that's definitely a choice." I said and grabbed miles arm.

"Hey! slow down cariño!" Miles says and I just ignore him as I continued grumbling nonsense.

HOURS LATER...

After going to class after class I grabbed my backpack and went to my final one, miles was next to me and he held a pile of books in his hands.

Miles ducked behind me and hid there I didn't know why he was hiding which made me confused, we hurried and made our way over to our seats only to be stopped.

"Mr.Morales and Mx.[last name]. Movin' in the dark. you're both late again." The teacher says, I pointed to myself.

"Who..me? I don't know this guy." I said while pointing to miles next, I think I just threw him under the bus.

Miles looked at me before looking away quickly, I heard him mumble something under his breath, "what a way to sell me out." I gave him an apologetic look.

"Einstein said time was relative, right? maybe we're not late. maybe you guys are early." Miles said and I turned to him.

Did he just include me in that? he's literally gonna be the death of me. I hit him in the shoulder with my elbow making him wince.

That's when I heard someone laugh and I glanced over to see who it was, "Sorry. it was just so quiet." a girl says.

"Would you two like to keep standing there, or do you wanna sit down?" The teacher asks, I hurried and made my way over to my seat which was next to miles.

It was silent between me and miles as i stared at the screen, "I likes you're joke." I whispered to miles.

"Really?" Miles asked in reply and I shook my head while clicking my tongue, "Nah, I hated it actually." I answered.

"Well..that's better than nothing. one point for me." Miles says and looks away, I think he was happy to hear me say I liked it at least. miles was weird...that's why he's my best friend.

After school was over I grabbed my backpack and placed my books and notebooks inside, I felt someone tap me on the shoulder.

"Hey, [name]. uhm..I'm sorry I won't be able to come over your house today. but uh, you mind if I borrow this?" Miles asked, "Sure." I nod and handed him the bracelet.

I then felt him wrap his arms around me as he nuzzled his head in my neck, I was surprised and just patted him on the back awkwardly.

"T-Thank you...?" I say and he gave me one last tight squeeze and then miles backed away, "See you Thursday." he says.

"Right, Thursday." I replied, the teachers had wanted me to stay home for a few weeks and do this assignment which had to be completed on Thursday.

Well, this was gonna be a long week.
