The butterfly danced in a whirl of colour on the clear, blue sky, as if it's iridescent glow of the wings were like fine quills, drawing such vibrant hues on a canvas. Evelyn watched as it curled into the sweetest of swirls above her head, a soft giggle escaping her lips when it rested on her finger tips, the glow of the butterfly's wings intensifying by just a mere touch of her skin.

Releasing the butterfly to flutter it's way back into the air, her eyes followed it's every movement as though it was telling her to follow it. So she did. With every step her feet set on the grass, she let the butterfly take control to where it was taking her.

Pushing past tree branches and bushes, she came to a halt in front of the castle once again, and there the butterfly joined several others in the sky. She smiled in awe, like music for her eyes, moving in a choreographed melody.

She took in her surroundings, this time getting a clear view of where she was. There were no shadows or darkness. It seemed like a place where there was no evil.

Trees that once stalked her were now coated with different colours of fruit. The flowers were scattered like rainbow freckles to adorn the grass, as if light had found a way to blossom so vibrantly.

Skipping happily over to one of the trees, she plucked a plum out of one of the branches, a giddy smile contorted on her lips, ready to take a bite from it.

"I see you are enjoying yourself."

The same voice reached her ears and Evelyn jumped up in surprise, whirling around to face them.

Standing there in a beautiful, long dress, her soft auburn hair tumbled over her shoulders as the light shimmered against it, flowing with her every move. She had eyes that were soft and green as a jewel, they held confidence. She had been graced with a look that could be of royalty.

Bravery. Is what seemed to be the woman's armour as she strode towards Evelyn.

"I– I just wanted to taste it," Evelyn stammered over her words and took slow step backs. Turning around to make a run, she gasped when the woman was now in front of her.

"Woah! How'd you do that? Are you a vampire?" She asked.

"I'm much better." The woman smirked.

"Look, I don't mean any harm. I was hungry," Evelyn raised her hands up.

She took a step forward and Evelyn looked anywhere but her face that seemed to hold no emotions.

A laughter sang in her ears as the woman pointed to Evelyn. "You should've seen the look on your face. You look like you were about to piss your pants."

Evelyn tense body relaxed and giggled nervously. "I wasn't going to."

"You were." The woman nodded whilst trying to tone down her laughter. "I'm sorry but it's been a long time since I scared someone. Glad I haven't lost my touch."

"You're the woman I keep seeing," Evelyn stated.

"That's right." She had a warm smile on her face. "Hm. Adorable." She flicked Evelyn's nose.

"Hey," Evelyn swatted her hand away, playfully. "Who are you?" She took a bite of her plum as she questioned the woman.

"My name is Grace."

"Grace. That's a beautiful name." Evelyn brought her hand out forward and Grace shook it.

"It's a pleasure to finally meet you, Evelyn."

"You too. Wait?" Evelyn shook her head. "You know me?"

"Always have," Grace nodded. "I've been watching over you."

"That's so weird," Evelyn scrunched her face in disgust. "Ew. Have you been seeing me naked too?"

"No," Grace matched her expression. "That is vile!"

"Good," Evelyn murmured and shook off her thoughts. "Are you dead?"

"Unfortunately," Grace nodded.

"Does that mean i'm dead?! Is this heaven?"

"No," Grace chuckled. "I'm just a ghost you see," she spoke in a eerie voice which made Evelyn laugh.

"I thought I was going crazy," Evelyn said.

"Oh darling, you are crazy." Grace smirked.

Evelyn frowned. "Rude." But the smile was still evident on her face, it was like Grace was no stranger to her. She felt comfortable around her.

She glanced back at the castle. "Why the castle? This is second time we met here."

"I was feeling nostalgic," Grace sighed.

"So you lived here?"

"Used to," Grace whispered.

"Damn, you're filthy rich then." Evelyn eyes were still fixed on the castle, laughing.

Grace glanced back at her with a fond smile. "Evelyn."

"Hmm." She looked back at Grace.

"You'll be able to control it. Don't worry," Grace said.

"You know about my superpowers?" Evelyn asked.

Grace let out a short chuckle under her breath. "Superpowers?"

"Well that's what I call it. You should watch the Marvel movies," Evelyn said and Grace smiled.

Grace lifted up her right hand and showed her palm to Evelyn. Out flew a smouldering ball of light. "Woah! You have superpowers too?!" Evelyn's eyes widened.

Grace held Evelyn's hand, bringing it up but she was quick to pull it back. "Hey! Don't burn me. I didn't do anything wrong. Are you still mad that I stole the plum? I told you I was hungry," she argued.

Grace rolled her eyes and took her hand, unclenching Evelyn's fist so her palm could meet hers. Another ball of light emitted from Evelyn's hand as she watched in awe. "This so cool!" The light continued to grow brighter.

"Now focus on what you want to turn it into."

"Got it." Evelyn shut her eyes and concentrated on her thoughts.

There was a small silence, before Grace raised their palms face up the sky and let it exploded, sparkling dust were now descending down like rain.

Evelyn clapped her hands excitedly, bouncing on her toes. "I love this! Let's do it again."

She turned around and found Grace nowhere in sight. "Grace?" She called for the woman. "You didn't even tell me what I am! How rude." She rested her hands on her hips. "You didn't even say goodbye too. Double rude," she grumbled.

━━━━━━━━━━

Β Β  Evelyn groaned, shutting her alarm off and sitting up when her thoughts drifted back to Grace. "Urgh! I hate my dreams." She angrily threw her pillow at the wall.

"At least I can eat in my dreams. The plum was tasty," she murmured.

Grabbing her phone from her nightstand, she called Bonnie. "Hey Bon Bon, I hope you're okay. When you're done doing your witchy juju thingy, give me a call. I need to tell you something urgently. I love you."

After changing into her outfit, Evelyn strode towards Elena's bedroom, knocking on it. "Lena, I need to talk to you. It's an emergency," she said but received no response after a couple of knocks. "Right, I'm coming in now."

Opening the door, she found Stefan and Elena making out. "I think I'm going to vomit and faint," she gagged with disgust, covering her eyes with her hands.

"Evelyn! Knock!" Elena scolded her sister as she pushed Stefan off her.

Stefan fell on the ground. "Ow." The sisters ignored him.

"I did but you never answered," Evelyn said. "Put a sock on the doorknob next time."

"You can look now, Eve." Elena fixed herself.

"Okay." Evelyn opened up her eyes. "Stefano get out. It's twin time."

"But–"

"She's my sister before she was your girlfriend." Evelyn held a fistful of his shirt from the back and dragged him out.

"It won't be long." Stefan was about to speak when the door was slammed shut. "I didn't mean to do that. Sorry."

"It's okay," he replied back.

"What's with the outfit? I thought you don't go to the studio today." Elena gestured to Evelyn's outfit.

"I have a class to teach in a few hours." Evelyn settled down on Elena's bed and rested her head on Elena's lap.

"What's wrong?" Elena ran a hand through Evelyn's hair.

"I haven't been dreaming about him."

"Your mysterious man?"

"Yes! Why am I not dreaming about him? Why have the dreams stopped? He still didn't give me a name or a face. Is he insecure about his looks? I won't judge," Evelyn blabbered.

She huffed in frustration and sat up straight. "The last time I dreamt about him was two weeks ago. Where is he? Why am I even annoyed?"

Elena laughed. "That was a lot of why's."

"Why are my dreams so weird?" Evelyn murmured and shook her head. "I need to stop saying that."

"Eve, he's just a figment of your imagination," Elena said with a soft tone.

"I know but he just felt so real," Evelyn groaned and laid back on the bed, stretching her arms and legs. "Damn you mysterious man for getting me attached to you."

Elena chuckled at her sister's bickering with herself. "Well, can I do anything to lighten up your mood?" Elena asked.

"Can you braid my hair? I still find it difficult to do the dutch ones on myself."

Elena nodded, turning Evelyn around as she braided her hair.

When she was done, Evelyn smiled looking at herself in the mirror. "You're amazing." She turned to Elena.

"I know," Elena gave her smug smile with a shrug.

"Alright, I need to go." Evelyn stood up. "Stefano! You can come back in and shove your tongue down my sister's throat."

Stefan entered back into the room and Evelyn walked past him. "Just make sure you don't eat her. She's not a bunny."

Stefan rolled his eyes. "Very funny," he retorted back.

"It is," she laughed and jogged down the stairs. "Nutella on toast? You read my mind Aunt J." She took a piece from Jenna's plate.

"I'm not even going to bother fighting you for it," Jenna mumbled. "Dance today?"

"Teaching a class," Evelyn nodded. "But I need to get my car back from the mechanic first." She grabbed a water bottle from the fridge.

Jenna nodded and Evelyn leaned down to kiss the top of her head. She patted her shoulder, gasping when the same image from her nightmare played in her mind. She stepped back immediately.

"What's wrong?" Jenna asked. "Eve?"

When she reached out to touch her hand, Evelyn flinched, looking back at Jenna with wide eyes. "You okay?"

It was just a nightmare. Jenna is safe. Evelyn reminded herself.

"Yeah," she breathed out. "Sorry I was thinking about something."

"You had me worried," Jenna said.

"I'm okay. I'll be back in a couple of hours. Stay with Elena and Stefan. If the creep comes back, call me." Jenna nodded.

"Oh and Aunt J, I love you," Evelyn smiled.

"I love you too," Jenna smiled back.

Fumbling for her keys in her bag to drive to the studio, an unfamiliar voice spoke stopping Evelyn from leaving.

"Evelyn Gilbert." She turned around and a young woman stood in front of her.

She furrowed her brows. "Yes?"

"You need to come with us. He asked for you," Greta said and Evelyn glared at the hand that was on her wrist.

"Request denied," she snapped, pushing the hand away from her.

"This isn't a choice. He wants you," Greta gritted.

"You don't get to tell me what to do and who the hell are you talking about?" Evelyn scowled.

"Klaus," Greta said and Evelyn stiffened at the mention of his name. She narrowed her eyes at Greta.

"Tell him that he can kiss my ass. I'm not going anywhere," she hissed. "Actually tell him not to kiss my ass. I don't want his lips anywhere near me. At all."

"You–" Greta began but Evelyn interrupted her.

"Tell the idiot he needs to learn that you don't always get everything you want in life and guess what? I'm not on his wish list," she rolled her eyes.

A man through the window reflection, next to Greta, caught Evelyn's vision and before she could do anything, he raised his hand in the air and she went limp instantly. Maddox caught and lifted her up in his arms before she could fall as he placed her inside the back of the car.

"What's so special about her?" Greta asked.

"He's her soulmate," Maddox answered.

━━━━━━━━━━

"Why are you smiling so much?" Katherine asked Klaus.

"Well, I can't have the Salvatore's ruining my plan so i'm going to need leverage," Klaus casually explained his plan.

"And what do you have that is so precious to them you could use against?" Katherine was curious.

They heard the door open and an unconscious Evelyn in Maddox's arm entered the apartment.

"There she is," Klaus announced.

Katherine's eyes widened to see Evelyn. "You kidnapped Eve?" He rolled his eyes, ignoring the vampire.

Klaus looked at Maddox and Greta. "Did you harm her?" They shook their heads immediately out of fear.

"She wasn't listening to us, so I had to cast a spell on her," Maddox explained.

"I figured she would do that. My girl is stubborn," he said, taking Evelyn in his arm and placed her down on the bed.

"She's going to be so mad when she wakes up," Katherine pointed out.

"No she won't," Klaus scoffed. "I'm in my own body now. She can't harm me."

"That won't stop her," Katherine shook her head, walking away from them.

Klaus glanced down at Evelyn, sighing. "I'm a bastard for doing this," he murmured.

━━━━━━━━━━

Evelyn groaned, turning to her side as her eyes slowly fluttered open and took a glance at what wasn't her own window. Gasping, she sat up straight to take in her surroundings, an apartment she didn't recognise.

"Not again," she muttered and looked for her phone, but someone had taken it. "How many times am I going to get kidnapped?"

She quietly walked out of the room and there she saw Katherine, stood in the open kitchen. "About time you woke up."

"Why am I here?" Evelyn rubbed at her eyes.

"I don't know. Only that Klaus got his minion to bring you here," Katherine said.

Evelyn's eyes widened. "Oh no. He's going to kill me isn't he? Maybe I shouldn't have beaten him up the other day." Panic arose from her chest.

"Relax," Katherine sighed. "Like that will ever happen," she murmured to herself.

"I thought you were dead, Kitty Kat," Evelyn said.

"How many times have I told you? Stop calling me that," she glared at Evelyn. "And you can't get rid of me that easily."

"So what? Now you and the old man are buddies? You kidnapped me?!" Evelyn raised her voice slightly.

"No i'm trapped here too." Katherine shook her head. "And Alaric is back in his body."

"Where is he?"

"Sending a message from Klaus."

"Then why am I here? Is he going to use my body and do that weird body trick," she asked, panicking more.

Katherine burst out in laughter. "As if he would do that to you." She handed her a plate of food. "Here, he said i'm supposed to make you breakfast."

Evelyn eyed her warily and shook her head. "I didn't poison it." Katherine rolled her eyes.

"Still not going to eat it. He probably compelled you to poison it and lie about it," Evelyn stated.

"He wouldn't dare hurt you," Katherine muttered, quiet enough so she couldn't hear.

"Where's my phone? Or is there a phone anywhere here." Evelyn searched around the apartment.

"Don't just stand there and watch, help me find a phone before he kills me," she rambled but Katherine's eyes were fixed on the person who had entered the apartment.

"You're finally awake, love."

Evelyn whirled around to see the man standing in front of her. "Nik?" Confused as to what he was doing here.

"Did she eat?" Klaus asked Katherine.

"He didn't," Evelyn whispered. You creepy old man! You possessed Nik's body now?!"

Klaus chuckled, "I'm not–" Evelyn cut him off.

"Shut up!" She walked up to him, glaring at him. "How dare you use an innocent stranger for your disgusting body swap fetish," she scolded him.

Klaus was too amused by her reaction, remaining silent as he listened to her scold him.

Evelyn dragged him by his jacket collar, pulling him down with the scowl still fixed on her face. Klaus was startled, stumbling on his feet as he placed his hands on her waist to regain his balance.

"Get your hands off me!" Evelyn snapped.

Klaus laughed, raising his hands up as she continued to glare at him.

She searched for his eyes before speaking, "Nik, if you can hear me. Don't be scared and remain calm. I will find a way to get this dusty old creep out of your body."

Klaus smirked, gazing at her with a fond look. "He's not possessed, love."

"What?" Evelyn shoved him back. "No. It can't be." Her eyes widened in realisation.

"Kevin?!" She gasped. "Nik is Kevin?" Katherine snickered from behind.

Klaus pinched the bridge of his nose, closing his eyes for a moment and took a deep breath. "How many times have I told you. Stop calling me Kevin!"

"I'll call you whatever the hell I like," she scoffed. "Your name gives me the heebie jeebies."

"What is a heebie jeebie?" Klaus looked confused.

"Your name annoys the hell out of me."

"I did tell you to call me Nik," he replied with a smug smile but she was in too much shock to even process anything.

"So you are a psycho who is on a killing spree!" She yelled. "My fake boyfriend is a serial killer!"

Katherine laughed quietly only to receive a glare from Klaus and she shut up immediately, moving away to another room.

Evelyn looked him up and down. "You're not supposed to look like this. I thought you'd be a pot bellied man. Why isn't your belly sticking out? Where's the bald head?"

Ouch x6

"Sorry to disappoint." Klaus rolled his eyes.

Here I thought he was a good one. I really am a sucker for bad boys. She groaned to herself.

"Elijah is way better than you," she stated.

"That's rude," he scowled at her.

But she was lying to herself, this man in front of her made her speechless.

Shut the hell up Eve!

"I'm only stating the truth," she scoffed. "And he didn't even fake it to be kind to me."

Ouch x7

"Stop talking about him," Klaus warned her.

You're asking for a death wish here, Eve. Control that mouth. She scolded herself.

"You lied to me."

"Not really," he shrugged. "I was just taking a day off from my killing spree."

"Is this about me beating you up? I don't understand why you kidnapped me for that. It wasn't even your face that I bruised." She frustratingly waved her arms in the air.

"I admire your bravery for that. Even when you knew well who I was." Klaus took her chin, and she squirmed, trying to pull away.

"Back off." She pushed at him and the very action made him smirk. "Keep those wrinkly hands away from me."

"Don't be angry, love," he tsked.

"Couldn't you just kidnap me later? I have a dance class to teach." She rested her hands on her hips. "Just let me teach my class and i'll be back. No promises though."

"No," he scoffed.

Oblivious to his gaze, she glanced over his shoulder and found the door wide open. She made a beeline for it only for Klaus to zoom over in front of her, locking the door and she gasped.

"Nice try," he chuckled.

"Listen here." She poked a finger at his chest. "Sheriff Forbes is my godmother and i'll get you arrested instantly. Now hand me a goddamn phone."

Klaus only chuckled, shaking his head and that increased Evelyn's anger. "You've gave me no choice. You're definitely asking for a replay of what I did back at the school."

She aggressively kneed him in between his legs and on his stomach too.

Klaus stepped back, his hand covering his front and groaning in agony. "Now it's definitely mine."

"Aww is your small dick in pain," she mocked him as she jutted her bottom lip out.

"I'll have you know–" he began but Evelyn kicked him once again.

"Idiot " she hissed.

"I buy you ice cream and lemonade and this is how I get treated," Klaus muttered.

Evelyn ran towards the kitchen, searching through the cupboards when Klaus sped in front of her, the kitchen counter being a barrier between them.

"Don't make me hurt you again," she warned him as she threw a wooden spoon at him.

"Did you just throw a wooden spoon at me?"

She then proceeded to throw an egg at him. "Stop throwing things," he warned her and dodged the egg.

"No." Evelyn grabbed an apple from the fruit bowl and aimed for his face.

Using his speed, he stood in front of her. "Don't come near me. I have a knife." She gripped onto it tightly as they moved around in circles.

"A butter knife?" He chuckled and she glanced down at her hands.

"It's still a knife," she shrugged. "Stop coming close! Let's not resort to violence anymore."

"You started it," Klaus argued back.

Evelyn found a glass of water, picking it up and threw it on him. Then proceeded to hit him with more eggs and finally threw a bag of flour at him.

Klaus gritted, removing the contents off him. "I should have tied her."

She quickly looked at the front door, opening it and stepped out, laughing at him. "You pathetic loser!"

In a blur, Evelyn's back was pressed against Klaus' front, startling her. "You're quite brave for a human." Her breath hitched when his fanned the back of her neck, sending a shiver down her spine.

"Leave me alone." She struggled against his hold as she lifted her legs up in the air, thrashing them around.

"Shh." Her chest heaved up and down rapidly as his fingers trailed down to her bare arms, brushing past her hips and he slowly took the knife out of her hand that was now loosened.

His lips brushed against her ear. "Now be a good girl and sit down," he huskily whispered and Evelyn shivered under his touch.

She turned around, her eyes boring into his. "No." She pinched his nose harshly, twisting it then slammed his body against the wall.

She searched the apartment for anything to defend herself when she came across a crossbow that was inside one of Alaric's drawers.

"What the hell is happening?" Katherine took off her earphones, walking out of the room when she heard noises.

"Stay right there." Evelyn pointed it to Katherine who raised her hands up in surrender. "I'm not going to hurt you, i'll save you too. Don't worry i'll get us out of here."

"Thanks," Katherine drawled out. "But I can't really get out."

"I'll find a way. Jeez, have some faith in me," Evelyn murmured.

"You do realise i'm an Original and i'm much stronger than you," Klaus spoke with arrogance as he fixed himself up straight.

Evelyn pointed the crossbow at him. "You really do have a big ego."

"I'm wounded, love," he gasped, placing a hand on his heart. Finding Evelyn rather entertaining to watch the way she was threatening him with the crossbow.

"This is how it's going to work, you're going to let me and my grandma go and we'll forget about everything I did or else i'll shoot you," she demanded.

In that moment, Katherine really wanted to kill Evelyn. How the hell is she a Petrova?

"Grandma," Klaus snickered as his eyes flickered to Katherine who looked embarrassed then back to Evelyn.

"And don't make me use it, I don't want to be charged for murder. I really want to make it somewhere in life and not have a criminal record because of you," Evelyn threatened him.

"Put it down, love." Klaus narrowed his eyes at her.

"No."

"Stop being stubborn," he scolded her.

"Stop being a creep," she remarked.

"I am not a creep."

"Yes you are. Kevin the creep."

"It's Nik!"

"Kevin!"

"Wait a second. How does this thing even work?" Evelyn's concentration drifted to the crossbow as she tried to figure it out.

Klaus stepped forward when Evelyn spoke up, "Stop!" He stood still. "I'm trying to see how this works. We're on pause here."

He raised a brow, rolling his eyes. "We're on timeout again?"

"Yes." She struggled to make the crossbow work.

"Is she serious?" Katherine muttered.

"Very much. Appreciate that i'm trying to get us out here," Evelyn sassed with a roll of her eyes.

"I think it works, yay!" She cheered and waved the crossbow around the air. "I did it!"

A second later, a loud gasp escaped Evelyn's lips, eyes widening when she accidentally shot Klaus on his dick.

Ouch x100

Katherine's eyes widened too. "You just shot him on his dick!"

"That was by accident. I was only joking when I said I would shoot you, I didn't mean to do that," Evelyn panicked.

"I can't believe you actually did that," Katherine murmured, trying to not laugh.

"It was by accident! Please don't be dead." Klaus grunted. "Oh wait you can't die. You'll be fine." She nervously giggled. "I hope so."

Katherine eyes widened, witnessing the scene in front of her. The human girl had shot the ruthless Original on his dick.

"Um, I can help take it out. I did a first aid course last term. I'm great at bandaging," Evelyn suggested. "Actually I don't think I want to be anywhere near your little thing."

Klaus' jaws clenched and he pulled the crossbow out, his glare now fixed on Evelyn who was clutching on to the crossbow to her chest.

"If it makes you feel any better, you're a vampire so you'll heal very quickly," she smiled nervously. "It's probably healed now as we speak of it."

"Give me it." He vamp sped in front of her and she flinched when he towered over her. "Now!" He yelled.

"I– I'm sorry," she whispered and her body slightly shook in fear.

"Please don't kill me. I'm still young and I really want to graduate school and go to college. I don't think they do ice cream in heaven and I would very much like too eat as much as I can before I die. I want to get married too and have babies!" She exclaimed, immediately covering a hand over her mouth. "You were not supposed to know that. Forget what I said."

Klaus smirked, amused by what she said. "Are you done?"

"If you let me go."

"That won't be happening."

"Kevin!" She pointed the crossbow at him once again and he effortlessly took it off her, throwing it across the room.

"Enough with that name!" He growled.

"Calm down with the growling," she murmured as she glanced down at her feet. "You really are living up to your doggy side."

This was a terrible idea. Klaus now regretted kidnapping her.

"Katerina, leave us." Katherine rolled her eyes and dragged herself away.

"No, don't leave me with him!" Evelyn followed after her.

A hand was clasped around her wrist and Klaus pulled her back in front of him. "Don't touch me." She pushed him away.

He stalked towards, making her stagger back and gently backed her against the wall, one hand resting besides her.

"Let me go," she spoke with a calm tone and felt his finger under chin, lifting it up.

"I can't." He shook his head with a smirk, lowering his face towards hers.

"What do you want from me?" She asked, trying to stay calm as possible.

"You," he whispered and she frowned.

"I'm going to get you sued for this, creep," she snapped but her anger made her look even more adorable.

"Is that so?" He chuckled and she moved her head to the side, trying her hardest to not look into those dreamy blue eyes.

"Don't be frightened, love," he murmured, humming at how her heart sped up and noting how her breath hitched.

"I'm not," she scoffed, still refusing to look him in the eye and afraid she would get lost in them immediately.

"I don't bite unless you want me to," he smirked.

Her eyes turned sharp. "I'm giving you 5 seconds to step away before I give you much worse than a nose bleed," she threatened him. "And I don't care if you're an Original."

He laughed and she replaced the glare with a blank expression although the tinted cheeks weren't making it any better.

"Just let me go. Why am I here?"

He looked at her and shrugged. "Leverage." He moved back.

She whined mentally missing his warmth but immediately cursed herself for even thinking that.

What the hell is wrong with you Eve? Why was she even feeling these things?

"You're such an annoying dick. I wish you even lost it when I shot you," Evelyn snapped and walked away from him.

━━━━━━━━━━

"What's going on?" Elena asked when Alaric was standing in front of them.

"It's me, I swear, okay? Klaus let me go," Alaric told her truthfully.

Damon narrowed his eyes. "Prove it."

Alaric nodded and looked at Jenna. "Okay, uh, the first night you and I spent together, Jeremy and Eve walked in right when I was about to–"

"Okay, it's him." Jenna cut him off quickly.

"Why did he let you go?" Stefan asked over the sudden awkwardness.

"He wanted me to deliver a message. The sacrifice happens tonight."

"What else?" Jenna noticed the worried look on his face.

"Klaus has Eve."

Everyone tensed in the room. "What?" Damon scowled angrily.

"He got his people to take her to him. He's using her for leverage in case any of us do something stupid."

Elena gasped, "He's going to hurt her."

Elijah stepped forward. "Klaus won't harm her. My brother has more control than that."

He knew his brother's doting nature towards Evelyn was impossible for him to do that. He wouldn't dare harm the one thing he sees most precious.

"By the way. What happened to my face?" Alaric asked pointing to his bruised cheek and broken nose.

━━━━━━━━━━

Rubbing at his temple, a sigh escaping his lips, Jeremy read the text message over and over again that Elena sent.

Klaus kidnapped Evelyn and he was afraid what the Original could do to his sister.

"You good?" Jeremy looked up to see Kenji.

"Yeah," he nodded. Kenji stared at him before shaking his head and returned his attention back to the video game they were playing.

"I have to go," Jeremy said.

"But you just came," Kenji frowned. "Why?"

"I'll be back later, I have to help Elena at home," Jeremy told him.

"Yeah. Okay," Kenji mumbled.

He hated that this was happening all over again but chose not to complain about it. As always he was invisible.

"Bye," Jeremy smiled, standing up to leave.

"Bye," Kenji nodded, watching as Jeremy left his house.

"Don't do it," Kenji told himself. But he needed to know if his suspicions were true.

He waited for a couple of seconds, sighing heavily and stood up. "Fuck it."

He decided to follow Jeremy.

━━━━━━━━━━

"Are you sure she's human?" Greta asked Klaus.

"What do you mean?"

"She has a lot of power. We can feel it," Maddox said.

Klaus frowned as his eyes drifted back to Evelyn who was laughing at whatever she was reading.

"Interesting," he muttered with confusion laced in his tone.

He would need to find out if she was a supernatural being or not, but could tell from her oblivious self that she had no clue too.

When they left, he made his way towards Evelyn and sat down next to her. Evelyn gave him a side glance.

"This is the second time you've invaded my personal space," she said in a low tone and he chuckled moving away a little bit but she rolled her eyes, still seeing him sat close to her.

"Why haven't you ate yet?" He motioned to the plate of food.

"How do I know you haven't poisoned it?" She said, not taking her eyes off the book.

"If I wanted you dead. I would've done it the first time we met," Klaus said.

"Wow. You are so romantic," she muttered.

"Eat." Klaus pushed the plate towards her.

"I don't want eat that." She looked at the plate. "It looks too healthy. There's too many green things I can see."

"What do you want then?" Klaus asked.

"Burger," she said.

Klaus picked up his phone, but Evelyn stopped him. "Wait. I want pizza."

Klaus took a deep breath. "Okay."

"Actually, I really want a mac n cheese."

"Fine," he sighed.

"But i'm craving for a chilli cheese fries too," Evelyn murmured.

"Bloody hell woman! Make up your mind," Klaus snapped and Evelyn hid the mischievous smile.

A pout played on her lips, shrugging. "I don't know anymore."

Klaus sighed, deciding to get everything she wanted.

━━━━━━━━━━

"You better not have poisoned this all," Evelyn told Klaus when she looked at all the food laid on the table.

Klaus rolled his eyes. "I didn't."

"Hmm," she hummed and tilted her head, eyeing him for a second then began to eat as he watched her with intense eyes.

Evelyn huffed in frustration and stopped eating. "Can you stop staring? Seriously what the hell is wrong with you?"

You drive me crazy. His thoughts spoke.

"I'm trying to eat in peace and you can't even let me do that. Some kidnapper you are," she mumbled.

He smirked and reached for the plate only to get his hand slapped away.

"Mine," she snapped. No one can ever get in her way with food. No one.

"There's so much and you're not even going to share?" He remarked.

"I'm hungry okay," she defended herself, continuing to eat and Klaus admired her again.

She squinted her eyes at him. What's his problem now?

"Are you really that bored that you want to talk to the girl who you kidnapped," she asked and he nodded like an idiot.

"Well guess what? You don't get everything you want in life."

She was a challenge but he loved it.

"Could you stop!" She scolded and moved his hand away.

"Do it again and i'll ruin that handsome face of yours," she threatened.

"You think i'm handsome?" He asked with a cocky smile.

"Yes– no– that's not what I meant," she stuttered and he chuckled. "Shut up!"

"I didn't say anything."

"You're so annoying." She stood up with her plate, walking away from him and sat in another corner. "Stop staring." She threw a pillow directly at his face.

"My life is a shit show," she mumbled.

Jeremy entered the boarding house, walking into the living room to find Elena, Jenna and the others scattered around, looking worried.

"What's going on? Did you find EJ?"

"She's at my apartment where Klaus is," Alaric answered.

"And we also met him," Damon added.

"What?" They all asked.

"He's definitely not 16 and pimply," Damon pointed out.

"What did he say about my sister?" Elena asked.

"Well, he said that if I intervene in his plans then he'll spend his sweet time tearing into her neck," Damon explained.

Elijah scoffed at that. As if Klaus would.

"So what? We're just going to sit here until it's time we can kill him?" Elena exploded into anger. "My sister is in danger."

"Relax, Elena. I have it all under control," Damon reassured her.

"And if it involves us attending Eve's funeral then I will kill you myself," Stefan snapped.

"Calm down," Damon rolled his eyes.

"Evelyn will be fine," Elijah spoke up.

"Did you just miss the part where Klaus threatened to kill her?" Jenna sassed.

"Jenna, I assure you–" Elijah began but stopped.

"What's wrong?" Elena asked.

"There's someone in the house," Elijah heard another heartbeat.

Damon and Stefan tensed, glancing at each other when they heard a voice.

"Mom, I can't talk right now. I'm on a undercover mission," Kenji whispered on the phone to Suki when he snuck inside the boarding house through the back door.

"I don't care, Kenji. Did you do your laundry?" Suki asked him.

"I'll do it later," he groaned.

"Kenji Takao, go home or you will be grounded!"

"I can't hear you," Kenji made static noises and cut the call.

Looking up, a blur startled him, making him yell when a figure sped towards him and slammed him against the wall.

"What in the Edward Cullen did I just witness?" Kenji gasped with wide eyes.

"Kenji?" Stefan asked.

"Hi, Stefan. I missed you. You look really good. Have you been working out?"

Kenji grunted when Damon kept a tight grip on him, a hand wrapped around his throat. "What the hell are you doing here?" Damon hissed.

"Damon, nice to see you again too. But, please stop choking me. I'm not into that kink. I'm also a minor," Kenji grabbed Damon's wrist to let him go.

"Let go of him," Jeremy ran up to them with the others trailing behind him.

"Damon. You're hurting him," Elena snapped.

Damon released Kenji and Jeremy quickly held him up, making sure if there were any bruises on him. "I'm fine," Kenji coughed, leaning against him to catch a breath.

Kenji looked at them all, pointing his finger at Damon and Stefan. "I knew it! You're vampires," he stated. "I thought I was losing my mind before I left. Do you guys sparkle like in Twilight?"

"I'm compelling him," Damon glared at him.

Kenji was quick to move behind Jeremy who stood in front of him protectively.

"He drinks vervain. Suki makes him have it," Jeremy said.

"Fine, I'll kill him then."

"No!" Everyone shouted at Damon.

"He knows," Damon argued.

"I won't tell anyone. I promise," Kenji said.

"He won't," Jeremy defended him.

"I can't believe you all hid this from me," Kenji looked at Jeremy and Elena especially.

"We can explain," Elena started.

"Yes, you fucking need to," Kenji crossed his arms over his chest. "Where's EJ?"

"Let's get you sat down first," Jenna said as she took Kenji into the living room. "Don't worry. I'm new to all of this too."

"Suki's going to kill us," Jeremy murmured to Elena.

"I know," Elena's pressed her lips in a thin line.

"We're really sorry, Kenji," Jeremy sat in front of him. "But your mom told us to keep it from you. It was for your own protection."

"Of course she would. I'm not doing the laundry anymore," he scoffed. "Now tell me everything."

Jeremy and Elena then explained everything to him.

Kenji blinked a couple of times. "Woah. That's a lot to take in."

"I mean it all makes sense now. You guys skipping lessons all the time," Kenji said. "How do you guys have time to catch up to all the lessons you've missed?"

"Yeah, how do you?" Jenna crossed her arms over her chest, eyeing Jeremy and Elena who gave her a sheepish smile.

"Eve helps us," Elena said. "She attends most of them than us."

"So how old are you then?" Kenji asked Stefan.

"I'm actually 163 years old."

"Elena, you're technically dating a great grandad. You freaky girl," he laughed.

Elena's cheeks tinted and Stefan shifted on his feet awkwardly.

"Well, you're in love and you've very happy with each other. Who am I to judge?" Kenji shrugged.

"Are you a vampire?" Kenji asked Jeremy.

"No, he's pocahontas," Damon replied sarcastically as he took a sip of his borboun.

"What?" Kenji looked confused. "Disney is real?"

"Ignore him," Elena said.

"What about EJ?" Kenji asked.

"She's human," Jeremy answered.

Kenji stood up, still processing everything he was told. "Yeah, i'm definitely going to faint now," he mumbled. Jeremy quickly stood up to catch him.

But a hand grabbed on to Kenji's shirt, pulling him forward. Kenji's eyed widened when he looked at the person who had been silent the entire time.

"It's the homeless man!" He pointed at Elijah. "What is he doing here? Why's he not at the shelter home?"

"He's not homeless. Eve lied," Elena said. "He's helping us."

"Makes sense," Kenji nodded and brought his hand out to shake. "Hey, i'm Kenji."

"I'm Elijah."

"Did you still buy drugs with the money I gave you then?" Kenji asked.

"He's rich," Jeremy whispered to him. "Your change means nothing to him."

"He is? Then give me my money back," Kenji demanded.

A smile tempted to curve on Elijah's lips as he searched inside his pocket, and placed the money in Kenji's hand. "That's not my change. That's $200!"

"Keep it," Elijah said.

"Wow," Kenji murmured as he held the note in the air.

"It's real," Elijah chuckled.

"Are you a vampire too?"

"I'm a special one," Elijah smirked.

"Cool. So now that the supernatural world is actually real. Does that mean unicorn's exist? And do aliens exist too?!" Kenji eyes lit up.

━━━━━━━━━━

Katherine was searching for some blood bags in the fridge only to find empty ones. She eyed Evelyn who was sat on the couch, reading another book and snarled a little towards her.

"Don't even think about it. He said you can't touch me at all," Evelyn said without looking up and Katherine huffed in annoyance.

The door clicked open and Evelyn smiled to see who was at the other side of the door. "Ric!" He smiled, seeing her run towards him and embraced in a hug.

"You okay?" He asked and she nodded.

"I'm sorry for ruining your face." She pointed to his bruised cheek. "And your back too."

"It's okay. At least those training lessons came to use. I'm proud of you, Eve." She grinned as they gave each other a high five.

Katherine rolled her eyes. "Look who's dumb enough to come back."

"Well, somebody had to invite him in." Katherine looked at him curiously. "Damon. Would you like to come in?" Damon strode inside.

"Damon!" Evelyn engulfed him in a hug.

"Cupcake!" He hugged her back tightly then took her face in his hands. "Did he hurt you?"

"I'm fine."

"He's treated her like a queen," Katherine scoffed and Evelyn glared at her. "With the food she ate at her request. I'd say she's doing more than okay."

"He bought you food?" Damon frowned.

"I was not going to eat just a salad," she shrugged and he nodded, although finding it odd why Klaus would do that.

"Damon, i'm tired of waiting in the car. Have you rescued, EJ?" Kenji strode into the room.

"You are such an annoying human!" Damon groaned. "Worse than the quarterback."

"Don't you dare compare me to Matt," Kenji glared at him.

"What the hell?!" Evelyn yelled, confused with what was going on.

"Eve, there you are," Kenji ran to her, engulfing her in a hug. "Did this Klaus dude hurt you? Sorry, Kevin. Jer told me you don't like his name."

"I'm so confused," Evelyn murmured.

"He knows," Damon said.

Evelyn's eyes widened. "They filled me in on everything but I'm still angry with you though," Kenji narrowed his eyes at her.

"Good, at least you got me a snack," Katherine snarled, walking towards Kenji.

"Don't you dare touch him!" Evelyn yelled, pulling Kenji behind her.

Kenji looked at Katherine, furrowing his brow. "Elena? When did you get here? And you changed your outfit too?"

"Don't ever call me that," Katherine snapped.

"But that's your name?" Kenji asked. "I'm so confused now."

"That's not Elena," Evelyn shook her head. "This is Katherine. My ancestor and Elena's doppelgΓ€nger."

"They actually exist? Do I have one then?" He asked. "This supernatural world just keeps getting more interesting and complicated."

"I don't know. I wonder if I am too," Evelyn thought.

Damon then shoved Katherine against a wall. "He definitely has a choking kink," Kenji mumbled.

"I gave you vervain, now I'm here to collect." Damon looked over his shoulder. "I got it from here, Ric."

"You sure?" Alaric asked.

"Yeah, only one of us needs to get blamed for this. Get back in the house. Keep Elena from handing herself over. Kenji go with him."

Damon looked at Evelyn. "Go with them, Eve. I'll come back."

"I– I can't leave," she said nervously.

"Why not?" Kenji asked.

"Did he compel you?" Damon asked but she shook her head.

"No, but he will kill everyone that I love if I leave." She didn't want to anger Klaus any further than she already did.

"Eve, it's okay. Just go with Ric," Damon reassured her.

"I'm not going to risk it." She shook her head. "Don't worry. I'll be fine."

"Okay." Damon reluctantly sighed.

"I don't want to leave you here," Kenji shook his head.

"It's okay. Nothing will happen to me," Evelyn reassured him.

"Fine," Kenji sighed and walked away with Alaric.

"Ric! Wait!" Evelyn ran over to him. "So I checked your freezer and you have ice cream. Can I have it? I'll only have a few bites. I promise." She fiddled with her fingers nervously.

Alaric smiled. "You can have it all."

"Thank you!" She squealed and hugged him. "Oh and tell Aunt J not to worry. I'm fine here." He nodded.

Evelyn happily walked over to the kitchen, ignoring Katherine's and Damon's conversation as she dug into the ice cream with a spoon.

Missing the part where he forcefully fed Elena his blood in case she dies.

"No. You can't interfere, Damon. Klaus will kill you and everyone you've ever met," Katherine told him then glanced at Evelyn. "Except precious Eve. He seems to fancy her," she smirked and Evelyn frowned.

As if he actually likes me. She scoffed and continued to eat the ice cream, ignoring their bickering.

"He's got Caroline and Tyler," Katherine smirked. "Therefore, I'm in the clear."

That caught Evelyn's attention. "What?" She gasped, hearing this sudden news.

"And where'd he get the idea from?" Damon scowled.

"Hey! I'm just trying to stay alive long enough to get myself out of here." Katherine defended herself.

"Where are they Katherine?" Evelyn stood besides her. "Tell me! Or else i'll tell Klaus you hurt me," she whispered and Katherine's eyes widened knowing Evelyn's word would win over hers.

"The tomb." Katherine finally told them. "He's got them in the tomb."

"I wasn't going to tell him anyways," Evelyn murmured to Katherine. "I'm not a backstabbing bitch."

"You need to save them," Evelyn turned to Damon.

"I can't."

"Why?"

"Klaus said he will kill you if I intervene and I'd rather have you alive then them," Damon explained. Katherine rolled her eyes.

Evelyn shook her head. "He won't know. I'll distract him or something."

"Like shoot him on his dick again?" Katherine humoured.

"What?" Damon asked.

"Forget about that. You need to go," Evelyn told him.

Damon held her hands in his. "I'll come back for you. I promise."

"I know you will but go save Caroline and Tyler first. They're my friends," she said softly.

"Okay but do I have to save Lockwolf? I'm fine with blondie but him? Really?"

Evelyn smacked his chest. "Yes."

He rolled his eyes but gave in. "Fine. I'll be back soon." He kissed her on the forehead and left.

━━━━━━━━━━

Klaus entered the apartment when he sensed something was off. "What have you been doing?" He asked Katherine in a quiet and dangerous voice.

"Making coffee. Do you want some?" He zoomed over and grabbed her throat, lifting her off the ground.

Making eye contact with her, he compelled. "Tell me what you've been doing."

"Making coffee," Katherine told him.

"Where's Evelyn?"

And with the mention of her name, the soft voice spoke from behind. "What's going on?"

He dropped Katherine on the floor, standing in front of Evelyn. "Has Katerina been bothering you when I left?"

Evelyn glanced at Katherine who was rubbing her neck then back at him. "No." She shook her head and he nodded turning back to Katherine.

"Take off your bracelet," he ordered and she unclasped it, letting it fall into his awaiting hand. "Now, I want you to walk over to the window and stand in the sunlight."

"But I'll burn."

Evelyn watched, hating where this was going. "Nik," she whispered warily.

"You don't have a choice," Klaus responded back to Katherine and causally picked up the cup of coffee.

Katherine stood in the sunlight and screamed. Evelyn cringed at the sight. "Stop it. "You're killing her."

"I'm quite enjoying it," Klaus mused with a wicked grin.

"Please, Nik, Stop," she pleaded him, stepping closer to him and placed a hand on his forearm. He smiled loving the feel of her touch.

"That's enough," he ordered whilst still looking into Evelyn's eyes. She stepped away from him.

Katherine zoomed away from the window, hitting the far wall and hiding in the shadows. Evelyn grabbed Katherine's bracelet and rushed over to her, handing her it. "Are you okay?"

"Thank you," Katherine nodded.

"Hm," Klaus smirked. "Guess I was wrong."

A sound on his phone, averted his attention from them when he read the text message, jaw clenching at what he had just found out. "Why am I not surprised."

"What's wrong?" Katherine asked.

Klaus pressed his lips in a thin line, giving Evelyn a quick glance. The perfect opportunity.

He walked over to Katherine. "I need you to do something for me."

"Do what?" Katherine asked.

"When I tell you too, you will call Jenna. I need a backup for tonight," he said and Evelyn's eyes grew with shock.

"You want to do what?!" Klaus turned around to meet a furious Evelyn marching towards him. "You want to kill my aunt!"

"Your friends and sister need to be taught a lesson in not to mess with me," he stated coldly.

Tears began to brim in her eyes. "So you thought it would be funny to kill my whole family now? I– I need a parent. I can't lose another. She's my mom. D– Don't do this. I'm begging you," she pleaded him.

"If you need a vampire then turn me. Use me for the sacrifice."

"I can't do that. You have to understand–" he began but her sobs were too painful for him to hear.

"No, she's my family. Please don't do this to me. I'll do anything just spare her life," she begged. "Please. I need her. I'll do anything you want me to do." A choked sob escaped her lips.

"Okay," he whispered to her and wiped her tears with his thumb. "Someone else will have to become a vampire you do know that?"

Evelyn nodded sadly, now another innocent life would be taken away and she had no choice. She hated herself and the situation she was in now but it was Jenna's life over theirs.

"You can't go against your own word now," he said sternly but softly, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.

Klaus knew he was selfish and manipulative but he waited too long to find Evelyn and he was not going to let her slip away from him, especially now that she was here in front of him.

"I promise," she sniffled.

━━━━━━━━━━

"Where's Maddox? He should be back by now," Klaus snapped.

Evelyn was looking out the window glumly, watching the moon rise over the town. She couldn't do anything about it now. Klaus was going to do the ritual and she only hoped that her friends came up with a plan to stop the sacrifice or prevent Elena from dying.

"What are you doing?" Katherine asked him.

"It's almost time," he sighed when he glanced over at Evelyn who had a emotionless expression on her face. If only they met in a different situation then all of this that was happening wouldn't affect her and she could understand why the ritual was needed.

The door burst open suddenly and someone zoomed in. Klaus scowled and leaned back against his chair. "I wasn't aware you'd been invited in."

"Damon," Evelyn ran to him, hugging his waist tightly and he wrapped his arms around her protectively.

Klaus jaws clenched when he watched Damon comfort Evelyn.

"I've come here to tell you that you have to postpone the ritual," Damon smirked and Evelyn pulled away from him.

"Didn't we already have this conversation?" Klaus rolled his eyes.

"Yeah, but that was before I rescued the werewolf and vampire and killed your witch."

Evelyn looked at Klaus who got out of his seat harshly and stood in between them now. His eyes flickered down to her, his lips pressed tightly together. She was protecting this pathetic vampire from him.

"Excuse me?" He hissed, dangerously at Damon.

"And you can kill me for it. I don't care. It was all me. Just let Eve go."

"Katerina, give us a moment." Katherine did what she was told.

Klaus moved closer to Damon but Evelyn was now practically pressed between both of them.

"I've heard about you. The crazy, impulsive vampire. In love with his brother's girl," Klaus taunted.

"I knew one of you would try and stop me. And it wasn't really a fifty/fifty guess on who." He pressed a button on his laptop and the sound of a woman in pain came from the speakers.

"The nice thing about werewolves is they travel in packs," he mused. "Need a closer look?" He tossed his phone to Damon who looked down at the screaming woman.

"It's Jules," Evelyn bit her lip nervously. "I had to tell him."

Klaus smirked and began walking towards Damon who pushed Evelyn behind him protectively and the Original scowled lowly.

"When you spend a thousand years trying to break a curse you learn a thing or two," he said. "First rule always have a backup. Backup werewolf. Backup witch," he shrugged as if it was nothing.

"Backup vampire," Damon whispered.

"I've got that covered, too." Klaus nodded.

"He was going to use Jenna." Evelyn lips quivered and Damon looked at her. She was looking at him with teary eyes. "I couldn't lose–"

"Shh," he told her gently and stroked her hair. "It's okay." Klaus glared at how close they were.

"I have a sacrifice to perform now." Klaus snapped Damon's neck.

Evelyn shrieked and rushed to Damon's side, kneeling down on the ground. "Why'd you do that?"

"He's as good as dead anyway, love," Klaus said.

"What do you mean?" Evelyn asked.

Klaus crouched next to her and pushed up Damon's sleeve. "Looks like he had a run in with a werewolf."

"No," she whispered. "He's going to die." Klaus rolled his eyes.

"Well it saved me the job," he muttered under his breath.

"Let's go." He stood up and held his hand out for her to take.

"No. I'm not going anywhere with you." She stood up and crossed her arms over her chest, staying rooted in her place.

Klaus pinched the bridge of his nose. "Don't make me throw you over my shoulder, love."

She was more stubborn than he was. "No."

"Eve." He placed his hands on her forearms as she continued to glare at him. "We had a deal." Before she could speak, he gathered her in his arms and whisked her away.

"You're an asshole Kevin!"

Jenna lives yay!! You all happy now?

It was tough writing this chapter and I know Klaus was being a manipulative dick to Evelyn, using her love for her family for his own benefit, and lying about killing Jenna but it's all part of the character development. He will be selfish in the beginning but grovels so much.

Grace's faceclaim is Jessica Chastain. Please check the extended oc chapter to see who it is.

Hope you all have/had a great day!
