"You will not go within fifty feet of Jackson Whittemore. You will not speak to him. You will not approach him. You will not assault or harass him physically or psychologically," Noah read from the clipboard in his hand as Scott, Meilani and Stiles sat at the table in the interrogation room with Melissa stood behind them and Jackson's father stood in front of them.

Stiles glanced between Jackson's father and his own father and Meilani could already hear the stupid thing that was going to come out of his mouth. "What about school?"

"You can attend classes while attempting to maintain a fifty foot distance," Noah responded, dropping the clipboard onto the table and Meilani flinched at the loud sound, it being extra sensitive to her heightened hearing.

"Okay, what if we both have to use the bathroom at the same time and there's only two stalls available and they're only right next to each other?" Stiles asked and lowered himself in his seat when Noah gave him a deadpan expression. "I'll just hold it."

Once everything was finalized, Noah tugged Stiles out of the room by his ear and Melissa motioned for her twins to get out of their chairs and walk out of the room. They passed by Noah as he yelled at Stiles for stealing the police van and Stiles tried to defend what they did by calling it a joke. It definitely was not a joke.

"Move!" Melissa snapped when Scott and Meilani faltered by Noah and Stiles, pushing both of them to go around the corner. After they were a few feet away from Noah and Stiles, she spun her twins back around and narrowed her eyes at them. More specifically Meilani. "It's not just this. Although, a restraining order is a new low that I didn't think that either of my kids would reach quite this soon. It's everything on top of it. Meilani, it's the completely bizarre behavior, the late nights coming home. Scott, it's the having to beg Mr. Harris for you to make up that chemistry test that you missed."

Scott blinked and turned to Meilani who merely shrugged. "I missed a chemistry test?"

"Really, guys? Really? Ugh, I have to ground the both of you. I am grounding you. You are grounded."

Meilani threw her head back and squeezed her eyes shut, trying to keep the frustration out of her voice. "Mom, what about work?"

"Fine... other than work," Melissa said, crossing her arms. "And no TV."

"The TV's broken, Mom," Scott reminded Melissa of the TV shorting out the other day and Melissa didn't have the time to get a new one for the living room just yet.

"Then no computer."

"We need our laptops for school," Meilani added.

Melissa glanced around them and noticed Stiles had stepped around the corner, leaning on the wall a few feet behind them. "Then... uh... no Stiles."

"What - no Stiles?!" Stiles whined, rushing forward.

"No Stiles!" Melissa yelled, causing the spastic boy to scramble back to where he had been previously stood moments before. "And no more car privileges. Give me your keys. Give 'em to me!"

Meilani and Scott sighed, digging into their pockets for the two extra spare keys to the van and placed them into Melissa's waiting hand. She tried to take the twins' house keys off their rings so they could have those back, but her hands shook too much for her to even get them remotely close to off.

Meilani reached out and wrapped her hand around Melissa's shaking one, feeling her heart shatter because she knew she was the reason behind it. "Mom... I..."

Melissa sniffled and glanced up at Meilani with tear filled eyes which only made her heart shatter to more pieces. "What is going on with you? I would ask if this was about Scott, but you guys made up."

"Do you really want to know?" Meilani asked and ignored Stiles frantically shaking his head behind Melissa's shoulder.

"Yeah," Melissa whispered and it was silent for a long moment as Meilani tried to figure out a good lie to tell Melissa for her odd behavior while Stiles made faces at her to keep her mouth shut. "Is this about your father? It is, isn't it? Okay, you know what, um... we'll talk about this at home, honey. I'm gonna go get the car."

Meilani deflated as she watched Melissa walk away and she allowed Scott to bring her into his side. Melissa hadn't mentioned their absent father since he left eight years ago. Meilani had been torn up when he just walked out on them and it took her a rather long time to come to terms with the fact her father would never be coming home again. Would never be there to read her a bedtime story again. Would never be there to dress up like a prince and pretend to have a princess tea party with her and her stuffed animals again. He'd miss her growing up and she couldn't do anything about it. None of them could and it sucked.

"I'm the worst daughter ever."

"Well, I'm not exactly winning any prizes either," Stiles agreed sullenly and the three turned to see Mr. Whittemore yelling at Noah as he flung around some papers.

"This sucks."

The next day at school, Meilani and the boys hid in the privacy of the bookcases in the library to wait for Allison. The night prior had definitely been a tense one when the McCalls got home. Melissa didn't even say anything to Meilani or Scott the whole way home and then she just shut herself in her room the rest of the night. To say Meilani felt like complete and utter crap would be an understatement. It was a struggle to even get up for school that morning.

A tablet was slid to Meilani and she grabbed it when she realized it was Allison. She unlocked it to see that the page on the Kanima in bestiary was opened and a small yellow note was opened over it with a translation of what was written.

"It's everything Lydia could translate and, trust me, she was very confused," Allison whispered, leaning against the bookcase so it wouldn't seem like she spoke to anyone on the other side.

"Yeah, what'd you tell her?" Scott asked while Meilani continued to skim what Lydia typed up for Allison.

"That we were part of an online gaming community that battles mythical creatures."

Stiles' head snapped up and he seemed a bit offended. "I am part of an online gaming community that battles mythical creatures."

"O-oh," Allison stammered and gave Stiles a lame smile. "Great."

"Anyway, does it say how to find who's controlling him?" Meilani questioned, glancing up at Allison whose face was visible in a space between two books in the shelf.

"Not really, but Stiles was right about the murderers."

Stiles threw his fists in the air as he silently cheered to himself. "Yes!"

"It calls the Kanima a weapon of vengeance. There's a story in there about this South American priest who uses the Kanima to execute murderers in his village."

"Alright, see, so maybe it's not all that bad," Stiles stated, finding at least one bright side in this whole thing.

"Until the body grew strong enough that it killed whoever he wanted it to," Allison concluded and grabbed a random book from the shelf above her, pretending to read from it.

"All bad, all very, very bad," Stiles deflated and earned an elbow to the ribs from Meilani to shut up.

"Here's the thing, though. The Kanima's actually supposed to be a werewolf, but it can't be..." Allison trailed off.

Meilani scrolled through the notes that Lydia typed out and found the information Allison tried to give them. "Until it resolves that in its past which manifested it."

Stiles read over his girlfriend's shoulder for a moment and an idea seemed to come to him. "Okay, if that means that Jackson could use a few thousand hours of therapy, I could've told you that myself."

"What if... it has something to do with his parents?" Allison suggested after a long moment of silence. "His real parents."

"Yeah, does anybody actually know what happened to them?" Scott asked, glancing between the three.

"Lydia might," Stiles responded.

"What if she doesn't know anything?" Meilani challenged, raising an eyebrow at Stiles.

Allison placed the book in her hand back on the shelf and shrugged. "Well, he doesn't have a restraining order against me, so... I'll talk to him myself."

"Okay. What do we do?" Scott questioned, feeling kind of useless because the three didn't have anything to do.

"You have a make-up exam, remember?" Allison reminded and Meilani and Stiles nodded in return when Scott sent them a pleading look. She reached out gripped Scott's hand that laid in between two books on the shelf below the one that Allison's face peeked through. "Promise me."

Scott sighed and squeezed Allison's hand. "Al, if he does anything, you run the other way."

Allison took her hand back and gave Scott a confident smile. "I can take care of myself, thank you very much."

"Allison, if you get hurt while I'm busy with some stupid test, someone is going to need to take care of me. If he does anything...anything weird or bizarre.. anything - "

Stiles poked his head through the space in between books and Allison stumbled back a step. "Anything evil!"

Allison rolled her eyes and pushed his face, causing him to stumble back and knock down a few books from the shelf. Luckily, Meilani caught them before the fell to the ground and gave Stiles a stern look.

Stiles Stilinski was going to be the death of her one day.

Meilani sat on the floor just outside the science room while she waited for Scott to finish his make-up exam. Stiles ran off to find Lydia and try get some answers out of her about Jackson's parents. She could hear Scott's nervous heart beat rapidly in his chest. However, another heart beat could be heard and Meilani scrambled to her feet when she realized it was Allison.

Shooting Scott a quick text she ran off to Allison, Meilani stuffed her phone in her back pocket and ran to the sound of Allison's rapidly beating heart. It sounded like it came from the locker room and she rushed down to the first floor where the locker rooms were, pushing into the boys' locker room to see Allison curled up against the wall and Jackson struggle to get his shorts on a few feet away.

"Lan, I'm fine," Allison assured, though her voice shook.

Meilani's eyes narrowed at Jackson and she charged at him, sending him flying back into the lockers and sent them toppling down.

"I have a restraining order!" Jackson yelled.

"Trust me, Jackass, I restrained myself," Meilani growled.

Jackson seethed as he pushed himself back to his feet and leapt at Meilani who grabbed him by the neck and flung him into the showers behind them. He stood up again and grabbed Meilani by the front of her shirt and flung her back into the wall, creating a large crack in it while she toppled to the ground with a small groan.

Meilani was back on her feet again and she leapt over the half wall, kicking Jackson in the back of the head as he walked away from her. She caught the circular weight that Jackson chucked at her and held it in front of her stomach when Jackson kicked out his foot. She went flying back into the fire extinguisher case on the wall and she dropped the weight at her feet.

Before Meilani could retaliate, Jackson grabbed her again and slammed her into the sink which broke it and sent water flying everywhere, soaking Meilani almost instantly. She was flung out the locker room door and saw Erica and Stiles stood over her with surprised expressions, especially when Jackson leapt out.

Erica stepped up to Meilani's aid and grabbed Jackson off her, hauling him away from the wolf girl and Stiles helped his girlfriend up from the floor.

"Hey, what's going on!" Mr. Harris yelled, storming over to where a small circle had formed. "What do you two think you're doing? Jackson! Fighting a girl? Ms. McCall, you want to explain yourself? Stilinski!"

"You dropped this," Matt said, holding out the tablet to Meilani which had been on the ground with her bag when she rushed in to get to Allison.

Mr. Harris snatched it out of Matt's hand before she could reach out and take it. "You and you - actually, all of you... detention. Three o'clock."

Meilani slouched against the wall behind her and closed her eyes, banging her head back against the wall. Why couldn't she just have one day where everything was normal and didn't go wrong? Just one.
