Orion is one of the, if not the most, powerful high lords in the history of the Earth. His powers are far above those of the normal fae, though they can be rivalled by some of the other high lords and ladies. His powers just happen to be rather effective in both mental and physical fights, which makes him a powerful ally and a dangerous enemy.
↳Mind resistance. He has the abilities to protect his mind from those who would try to control or enter it. It's like a wall which he builds around her thoughts, memories and mind. His mental walls are much stronger than those of other fae. After all, he is one of the few who knows how to break through this walls, so he also knows how to protect his mind from those who would try it,
↳windowing. A skill that almost all powerful fae posses. He can teleport from one place to another. This skill doesn't belong to a certain court and how far you can, and how many people you take with you depends on your strength. There are also places were you can teleport, like the palaces of the high lords and ladies.
↳Mind control and mind reading. One of his most feared abilities. Orion can enter someone's mind and turn them into his slave, without them noticing. He can also control the it movements and even manipulate memories. Though some strong memories are inerasable, even for him. However, his ability is so powerful that he can break through the walls people have build around their mind. Only the other high lords/ladies are powerful enough to keep him out of their minds permanently, though he could sneak in from time to time to throw them of.
↳Mind shattering. He can shatter someone's mind within a second. Especially the minds of humans, he can shatter their mind without any effort. He can also shatter minds of fae without effort, though he does need to be in their head to do this.
↳Flying. Through dark wings on his back. He can summon them and let them disappear.
↳Darkness manipulation. He can manipulate darkness, which basically means he can let darkness become a touchable thing. He can darken a whole room but also use the darkness to rip people to shreds without even blinking. If he uses this power on a larger scale, on the battle field, he could rip hundreds of people apart in seconds.
↳Shadow whispers. It is said that the shadows themselves speak to him, bringing him the secrets of whoever he wishes. They are also said to tell him about the past, present and even the future. Though some would claim this as mere rumours

PERSONALITY
Orion is one of the, if not the, most feared men on the earth. He's the high lord of the night court. The prince of darkness. The ruler of nightmares. He's the one people warn their children about. The one who's name people hesitate to speak, simply because of fear for him. His reputation is anything but pretty. He's know for being the cruelest of the cruelest. The ruler of monsters. His court exists of nothing but heartless monsters, it's no secret he is one of those monsters too. His reputation paints him as a bloodthirsty ruler. One who enjoys ruling over his court hidden in the darkness. Ancient. Cruel. And power without limit. He's painted as a sadistic and manipulative lord. Pray to the gods would you ever cross paths with this man, because the chances are you aren't getting out alive.

Orion is without doubt much like the rumours describe him to be. The night court is a place filled with death and destruction. It takes a monster to rule a court filled with monsters. He has been prepared to rule since he was born. Since he could talk, he was taught to get people speechless. Since he could walk, he was taught to fight. Since he matured even a little, he was thought to be the worst version of himself. One who thrived of fear. One who longed for nothing but power. And if something is repeated over and over, you eventually start to believe it. Orion does have a taste for power, like most Fae, it's like he is addicted. He wants more. Always more. He is also cold and calculating. He watches his steps. Orion is rarely one to make the first move. He wants to observe before he acts. What are someone's weaknesses? What are their strengths? How do they behave around certain people? He can be quite merciless. If one would to stand in his way, he would get them out of his way. In a rather ruthless and painful way. He does not like being disobeyed. At some times it can't be amusing, but most of the time it just pisses him off. If he's pissed off, you avoid him at all cost, if you want to keep your life. It's no secret that the high lord of the night court tends to reflect his anger on those around him.

Orion is a cruel individual, that is for sure. But unlike what some might suspect, he isn't only focused on ruling and gaining more power. He is seductive. He likes to flirt, to compliment and sweep people, Male or female, of their feet. He likes to wrap them all around his finger. It amuses him how much they want him, while they fear him at the same time. Not that he can blame them, he is irresistible after all (according to him). He can be playful, sometimes a little too carefree and blunt for a high lord. Though do not forget, nothing he does is without reason. People tend to amuse him, especially humans. He finds them interesting like nothing else. The way they work, they way they love and hate. At some rare times, even their disrespect amuses him. The way they think that they, little powerless humans, can get away with any disrespect against him! Him, a high lord! It just dazzles him. Though nothing beats the amusement he feels when people avoid him. When he appears from the shadow and people climb over each other to get away from him. He is often seen, smirking at those who run away screaming in fear, only to end their existence a second later. Not only is he cruel. Oh no, he's much worse than that. He's simply a sadist, though it's more that he enjoys people's fear rather than their pain. If they fear him, he won't have a reason to hurt them. However, if they think of him but nothing but a spoiled high lord. Well let's say, they will wish they hadn't.

You probably hate him. Which is fine. That is what he wants. Because only if people hate him, better, if they fear him. Only then he can protect his loved ones. Everything you have read above is a mask. A simple yet heartbreaking mask he must wear to protect what he holds dear. Orion is in no way cruel, sadistic or cold. He has a kind heart, one full of love. All his kindness, all his love is carefully hidden behind a mask that he has created over the centuries. You see, Orion has struggled a lot in his long life. He has looked death in the face so many times. He's wise and, maybe the only rumour that isn't fake, calculating. He thinks before he acts, every single act of cruelty is a way to hide what is truly important. He does not wish to be a monster but knows this is the only way to keep his precious ones safe. If people fear him, if they see him as nothing but the mad high lord of the night court, they won't look any closer. They won't get to him. Their insults do not hurt him. He does need the love of the world, as long he has the love of his family. He's rather protective of those he cares about. It kills him to see them in pain. He would rather sacrifice himself than to see them in pain. Which is what he is doing now. Making himself the bad guy. Being the monster. Carrying the burden, all so they don't have to. To make sure they are save. To make sure they are happy. He gladly becomes a monster for them. His mask is a good one, but not a perfect one. If one looked closer, which very few would dare to, they would see through the small cracks. Like how he never seems to hurt those who can't fight back, or how he cleverly saves the life of a servant by labelling them as unimportant. Those small acts of kindness show his true nature. One hidden behind centuries of fake smiles and a mad smile.

BACKGROUND
Orion was born and raised to become the next high lord of the night court. His father was the former high lord, a strict but fair man. His mother was the daughter of a villlage chief. It was common for women (at that time, not anymore) to be married off after they first bled, though the real marriage wouldn't take place till they were older. His mother was wild, she didn't want to be married off to some stranger. One she didn't love. So she did everything she could to avoid bleeding. She would starve herself, or eat forbidden fruits. All to avoid bleeding. However, when she was 18, she bled for the first time. It was the wrong place, wrong time and her father's friend smelled it. His mother tried to run, to no avail. She was young and weak, no match for the strong friends of her father. She was dragged back to her village, right to the church to be married off. Because she was so late with bleeding, there was no need to wait to consume the marriage. She fought like a wild animal, trashing against their holds, shouting at the top of her lungs. At that very moment, appeared Orion's father. He was a young high lord travelling, undercover, through his court. When he saw her, he immediately knew she was his mate (I will add the section mates to the information page either today or tomorrow) With a single wave of his hand, he killed the men who held her. She too felt the mate bond snap in its place. One look was enough, she jumped in his arms and let him take her away, not knowing where they might would go.

Orion was born not long after. It has been a long and difficult pregnancy and birth for his mother. Which was why his father refused to try it again. He would not put his mate in danger. So Orion grew up with the knowledge he would be the next high lord one day. He didn't have the competition other children of high lords or ladies had. That didn't mean he wasn't pushed to his limits. His father was a strict and cold man, he didn't show any affection. Not to his son. Not to his mate. Orion's mother began to resent him over time, though she would never be not thankful for him saving her and allowing her all freedoms she wished. Orion adored both of his parents, loving his mother deeply and wanting to make his father proud. Though that wasn't an easy task. He had to work triple as hard as everyone else. Because his father knew he would become a high lord one day. Which meant he would have to deal with many assassinations, he would basically become a walking target.

So he was send to the training camps. He was barely an adult in fae years, yet he was send to the cruelest place in the whole court. The lords of the training camps didn't care he was their future high lord. They treated him like everyone else. A blessing in disguise, though he certainly did not think about it that way at that time. In those years he learned to defend himself without using magic. He learned how to use his body as a weapon, how to fight and how to kill. In those camps he made friends for life. Other rejects. Others who were just like him, hated by the camp lords and warriors because they were different. It was at this time his powers started to grow significantly. They grew so strong, they started to rival those of his father. Something his old man did not appreciate. Eventually, he went home again and for the next few centuries, he and his father tolerated each other, but there was a certain tension between them. It was like his father didn't see him as his son anymore, but a potential threat to his position. The only thing that kept them civil was his mother. She refused to chose a side, and forced them to make peace. If it wasn't for them, than at least for her. This worked well, until her unfortunate death.

She was assassinated by an unknown assassin. She was pregnant at that time. She was killed to get to his father. The loss of two lives took a toll on the royal family of the night court. Orion's father became brutal after the loss of his mate, seeing threats everywhere, never trusting Anyone again. Both he and Orion blamed him for his mate's death. So he turned to the alcohol. At one of his lowest point, a female fae seduced him. It wasn't the first time he slept with a pretty high born fae after the death of his mate. It was however, the first time the female got pregnant. The female, a high ranking member of the day court gave birth to a health baby girl. Aideen, Orion's baby sister. Orion's father rejected her on sight, he would never accept a child that wasn't his mate's. He also murdered the mother of his daughter in cold blood. This plus this rejection of Aideen caused a rift between the courts. It was only due Orion stepping up and claiming Aideen to be under his protection, that a war was prevented. The high lord died not long after, leaving Orion to rise to take the throne. He knew immediately that he couldn't be like his father. He couldn't let others hurt his loved ones to get to him. So he created his mask, turning himself in a monster. All because he wanted people like Aideen to grow up save and loved.

↳100 % based on Rhysand from ACOTAR though I could never make someone as loveable as rhys. I did change some things and made Orion a little darker and his backstory a little different, though the story about his parents is basically identical to the story about Rhysand parents.

↳ Aideen's older brother. They are about a millennium apart, which is a lot, but the two of them are incredibly close and would gladly die for each other. At this moment, she does live in the court of her mother, but she does visits from time to time and he has gifted her with a mansion close to his palace.

↳Refuses to marry with anyone but his true mate. One who he has vowed to love without limits. He has seen the love between his parents, before they became bitter, and wants nothing but that kind of love. His mate can be anyone, maybe even a human.
